oh also one thing that i realized just now: qbagi’s initial suspicion over what’s happening to qphil being tied to the federation is technically not wrong

you know what drew qphil’s deities’ interest to him and quesadilla island? the birdcage. rose said in her earliest message ”I could sense the bleeding heart of the one I once knew, far, far away”. the deities noticed qphil had disappeared, and maybe they were curious to know what had happened, but the thing that drove them to find him was rose’s want to help him. and if she really was the one that freed him from the cage (and it’s heavily hinted she was), that birdcage undeniably was the thing that launched all of this into action.

how the enderking figured out that qphil had been weakened? we don’t know, maybe he sensed it, maybe he had already been observing him, maybe he noticed rose leaving to look for qphil, it doesn’t really matter. what does matter is that the trauma qphil got from being locked in that cage is what gave the enderking the perfect opportunity to strike. and is what led us to where we are now in the story. so even thought the federation isn’t ultimately the one tormenting qphil right now, it can still all be traced back to them and their continual abuses of power :)

if i'm allowed to be a little bit of a hater in your inbox this morning, i'm still a little baffled by the notion some people have that it's canon that tommy understands buck so well? i think 7x04 revealed some understanding of buck on his part but nothing since then has really further developed them in my eyes, to the point where i believe he gets buck oh so well? idk what am i missing?

no like from day one people have been making all sorts of wild assertions that have absolutely zero basis in canon but yeah pretending that tommy and buck Understand each other So Well is hilarious to me because...what? they've had zero moments of emotional intimacy so far!! actually i'm feeling messy rn so i'll just break down the big conversations they've had so far like i did in the DMs with a friend the other day:

awkward flirting over helicopters (interrupted by eddie)

tommy coming over to talk to buck about eddie before they kissed (buck drops eddie's name like 8 times)

awkward first date (interrupted by eddie)

deciding to give dating a shot

that's literally it!! and they've had NO development since then! and i suppose something could happen in the next episode, but even then it wouldn't be enough to justify the absolute batshit assertions i've seen being made about this dynamic. sorry to say. "they have endgame potential" based on what?? "tommy is so good for buck" again, based on what?? pls be serious rn

And pines parents are like Okay We Trust You Let's Go Ship Our Children Off To Oregon and bada bing bada boom Stan has two kids now

even funnier is if shermie is just as insane as his brothers even though he doesn't act like it so he just. didn't tell stan the twins were coming. he assures the parents that he's been in contact w stan this whole time and has worked everything out but no he's just going to let stan get some surprise grand-niblings for the summer.

also. stan, looking at dipper and mabel's deep Twin Bond: this creates no strong emotions in me and I don't have any particular feelings about the concept of being a twin. anyways back to this portal i've been frantically trying to repair for three decades for some deep-seated-yet-unknown reason. surely these things have no relation!
