So, as an aside- because this is the third post I've spotted about it.
Write the uncomfortable things. Write the questionable things. Write the things that are on brand for the voice you're writing in, or the character you're playing.
I'm not saying going and writing out things for sheer shock value, mind you- with the purpose of deliberately riling someone up. I'm saying that if you're writing a villain, and they're going to do villainous things that are immoral and evil?
Within reason? Write them.
Is your hero an anti-hero with skewed morals?
Write them.
You can write them, and still absolutely abhor them. You can write them, and absolutely do not believe that ANY of what you're writing is the right thing to do. You can write them, and still keep your personal morals. Humans are not absolute creatures, and we are not solely in the realms of blacks and whites when it comes to presentation of mores and morals.
So. Write them, but tag them. Be responsible with your words. Tag them so that those that are triggered by them can avoid them. Tag them so that people know what to watch out for.
I cannot be any more concise.

I know the Operator is an untouchable monster and a force of nature but… What if it wasn’t. What if it could touch, leaving chills and extreme discomfort in its place, making you wash the spot it touched over and over again but the feeling lingers for days, weeks, months, or even years?
What if it could speak? Would it be monstrous screeches, like glitching technology, or could it talk to you? Implant ideas in your head that almost feel like your own or maybe, it has a voice of its own, or is that just one it’s stolen? But it talks, and it gets hard not to listen when you don’t have anyone else around.
What if it wasn’t so distant? What if it got a little more hands on?
I love how it is but sometimes I think about that, y’know?

but will you share them?
I MEAN SURE. IF YOU REALLY WANT THEM
the “self lubricating elven assholes” book is claimed by the orc prince by Lionel hart. it’s an elf/orc arranged marriage au. it’s erotica/has a lot of smut (idk where the line is between ‘erotica’ and ‘not erotica with a lot of sex’). it’s exactly what you’d expect. I’m 77% done with it and it’s a SERIES but I doubt I’ll be continuing
the “king David gay Bible au” is the prince’s psalm by Eric shaw Quinn. idk shit abt this book except that it’s David/jonathan and it like. Exists. it’s on my 8k+ book tbr tho
the “cum scented monsters” book is the last Sun by K.D. Edwards. I read the whole thing and gave it a 2 star and the only reason it wasn’t a one star was bc I was CONSTANTLY sharing passages of the book with friends. P sure I posted at least one here. I remember nothing except sheer confusion that this book was published and there was a cum-scented monster.
the “fishpreg isekai” is the disabled tyrant’s beloved pet fish by xue shan fei hu. a guy isekais into a villain’s pet fish and they fall in love and there is fishpreg down the line. i read it to make fun of it and it was actually the funniest stupidest insane shit and I can’t wait for volume 2 in a week and a half 👍
there. some of the fucking weird gay books I’ve found

ok on a serious note:
my place of work currently (a spa) has already been on camera surveillance (in the common areas) i have always had to make myself forget this for my own peace of mind. (could write essays on surveillance...)
i just learned reacently from my boss, that "soon" there will also be AUDIO surveillance. idk when soon is. i was immediately told to keep my mouth shut about it. if i tell anyone and it comes out theyll know its from me and my position WILL be in jeopardy. i want to let my right hand crew know. i feel everyone SHOULD know. i feel it is an invasion of trust and privacy. at front desk, when empty and no one is around, my crew comes to me to vent their concerns and frustrations. i dont want them to ever get reprimanded for letting off steam. how can i let them know without letting them know???? my partner is just as shocked and disgusted as i have felt upon learning this, and their advice was maybe start shutting it down by saying "not at the front desk" or just "not here" but i dont want to come off as insensitive either. idk. im def watching what i say myself. which makes me feel some type of way bc i can already feel my own well-being begin to unwind bc i truly believe it shouldnt be a worry to begin with for hourly pay. but here we are. alot of changes have happened over the last 6 months and i feel as though my team has been doing their best in navigating tons of changes amd still killing it. we are setting examples for the other locations. we all get shit done. i feel sick to my stomach thinking we will now be spied on by audio. i dont like it at all.

tbh i think the funniest phenomena that's been happening in the last couple years is "youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will"

I am genuinely so worried for all the young horny dykes going into adulthood thinking there's something "problematic" / "wrong" with them for being horny because fucking tiktok lesbians think any horny dyke content is "male gaze fetishistic"

Here’s my take on the whole audio books vs. reading:
Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.
The actual difference is
when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names
when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names
hope this helps!

It's honestly crazy that discussion around testosterone HRT skews so much towards the beginning stages of it (to the point that you have dozens of guys thinking their transition is "failed" if they don't pass by like a year in lol) and what the initial changes of the first couple of months to years look like, like the classic laundry list of those early basic changes like bottom growth, voice drop, etc, when IMO literally none of that compares remotely to the depth and intensity of the long term total masculinization you start to experience like 3-5+ years in.

Sometimes I wish we would start calling out the performative radicalism on this site for the poser bullshit it is. "Remember, it's always morally correct to kill a cop!" "Don't forget to firebomb your local government office!" "Wow, it sure would be a shame if these instructions on how to make a molotov cocktail got spread around!"
Okay. But you're not killing cops or firebombing government offices. You are posting on a dying microblogging website to a carefully-curated echo chamber that has radicalized itself into thinking that taking the absolute most extreme position on any subject is praxis but that anyone discussing the most practical way to effect actual change is your sworn enemy. You do not have the street cred OR the activist cred to be talking about killing cops, babe.

if I've learned anything from grad school it's to check your sources, and this has proven invaluable in the dozens of instances when I've had an MBA-type try to tell me something about finances or leadership. Case in point:
Tumblr media
Firefox serves me clickbaity articles through Pocket, which is fine because I like Firefox. But sometimes an article makes me curious. I'm pretty anal about my finances, and I wondered if this article was, as I suspected, total horseshit, or could potentially benefit me and help me get my spending under control. So let's check the article in question.
It mostly seems like common sense. "...track expenses and income for at least a month before setting a budget...How much money do I have or earn? How much do I want to save?" Basic shit like that. But then I get to this section:
Tumblr media
This sounds fucking made up to me. And thankfully, they've provided a source to their claim that "research has repeatedly shown" that writing things down changes behavior. First mistake. What research is this?
Tumblr media
Forbes, naturally, my #1 source for absolute dogshit fart-sniffing financial schlock. Forbes is the type of website that guy from high school who constantly posts on linkedin trawls daily for little articles like this that make him feel better about refusing to pay for a decent package for his employees' healthcare (I'm from the United States, a barbaric, conflict-ridden country in the throes of civil unrest, so obsessed with violence that its warlords prioritize weapons over universal medical coverage. I digress). Forbes constantly posts shit like this, and I constantly spend my time at leadership seminars debunking poor consultants who get paid to read these claims credulously. Look at this highlighted text. Does it make sense to you that simply writing your financial goals down would result in a 10x increase in your income? Because if it does, let me make you an offer on this sick ass bridge.
Thankfully, Forbes also makes the mistake of citing their sources. Let's check to see where this hyperlink goes:
Tumblr media
SidSavara. I've never heard of this site, but the About section tells me that Sid is "a technology leader who empowers teams to grow into their best selves. He is a life-long learner enjoys developing software, leading teams in delivering mission critical projects, playing guitar and watching football and basketball."
That doesn't mean anything. What are his LinkedIn credentials? With the caveat that anyone can lie on Linkedin, Mr. Savara appears to be a Software Engineer. Which is fine! I'm glad software engineers exist! But Sid's got nothing in his professional history which suggests he knows shit about finance. So I'm already pretty skeptical of his website, which is increasingly looking like a personal fart-huffing blog.
The article itself repeats the credulous claim made in the Forbes story earlier, but this time, provides no link for the 3% story. Mr. Savara is smarter than his colleages at Forbes, it's much wiser to just make shit up.
HOWEVER. I am not the first person to have followed this rabbit hole. Because at the very top of this article, there is a disclaimer.
Tumblr media
Uh oh!
Sid's been called out before, and in the follow up to this article, he reveals the truth.
Tumblr media
You can guess where this is going.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So to go back to the VERY beginning of this post, both Pocket/Good Housekeeping and Forbes failed to do even the most basic of research, taking the wild claim that writing down your budget may increase your income by 10x on good faith and the word of a(n admittedly honest about his shortcomings) software engineer.
Why did I spend 30 minutes to make a tumblr post about this? Mostly to show off how smart I am, but also to remind folks of just how flimsy any claim on the internet can be. Click those links, follow those sources, and when the sources stop linking, ask why.

"life doesnt get better, you just get stronger" does NOT include ages 11-17. life does in fact just get better from there. those years are dogshit. like, you do get stronger but its mostly just a factor of not being 11-17 anymore. positive thinking helps but it doesnt fix whatevers going on at 15, you have to brute force through that one raw

I think people should be allowed to sleep in the same bed in a non sexual and non romantic way. I think cuddles can happen non sexually and non romantically. I think most acts of affection are non sexual and non romantic until you make it sexual or romantic (other than the obvious things like actual sex is sexual)
