It was a lovely afternoon, and you were enjoying a lovely chat with the crown prince of the Devildom. Diavolo was glad to have a break from work, as well as an excuse not to return to it.

That is, until Barbatos appeared. The butler asked his charge to please return to the urgent matters on his desk. Break time was over.

Diavolo frowned. He did not want to work anymore. He had been diligently fulfilling his duties for a week now with no complaints. He peered at the desk, with its mountain of paperwork. He peered at Barbatos, whose smile thinly masked a threatening disposition. He peered at you, a sad and helpless expression on his face.

"We're going to have to leave our conversation here. I am so sorry," Diavolo lamented. He approached you with outstretched arms.

Thinking of a hug, you met him with equally outstretched arms. "It's okay, you can message me la-"

Anything you were about to say disappeared from your mind as Diavolo picked you up. There was resolution in his eyes. There was no going back now. In haste, he threw you at Barbatos.

The butler's cool facade broke as he scrambled to catch you in a graceful hold, cautious to minimize any damage to your body. Though, you felt his bony fingers dig into your sides as Barbatos gripped you tightly. He was furious.

Diavolo was already out the door and down the hall, looking for somewhere he could hide for at least another five minutes before returning to work. Though it was regrettable he could not spend any more time with you, this was a necessary action to distract Barbatos.

He would never forget your noble sacrifice.

i never know how to phrase it but something about the way beatles biographers and people in general view paul's reflexive placating persona and determination to smooth things over as manipulative or duplicitous and john's reflexive barbed persona and habit of lashing out as brave and subversive despite both being equally defensive mechanisms to shield themselves from the world that resulted in them saying things that weren't true says more about how we culturally view kindness or friendliness as inherently untrustworthy or flimsy and anger and carelessness as more believable as someone's true nature than it says about either of them in actuality

idk if this is accurate but i’ve felt like in previous seasons riz & gorgug have been one of the inter-bad kids dynamics we’ve seen the least of & this season has been so great in that aspect. gorgug having helped make some of riz’s magic gear. riz helping gorgug with his studies. the shared birthday party. gorgug’s gift to riz being something he himself made to protect riz. riz’s gift to gorgug being something he illegally grabbed to protect gorgug. gorgug who utilizes rage to put his body on the line for his friends & riz who will take deep levels of mental stress for his friends. even though it was within the context of a joke, riz calling gorgug an “absolute sweetie.” like yea they might not be in a band together or both part of a presidential campaign team or owlbears teammates, but they’d go to war for each other, because they’re best friends.

AND SOMETIMES, these two families (plus a Colombian Speedster with robot arms and her boyfriend, their leader, with his large and powerful form) come together to create one bigger even more beautiful family, who all live on a time-traveling plane.

i am not going to say "one of the most terrifying things" about neil gaiman's abuse, because every last thing about his abuse is the most terrifying thing, but the fact amanda palmer weaponised her gender and her reputation as a 'feminist' to gain the trust of women just so she could introduce them to gaiman to abuse is so beyond insidious. to him, she detailed their vulnerabilities to excite him, to fuel his predatory interests. she groomed victims for him. she is pure fucking evil too.

As far as I know, we don’t learn anything about Caterina’s spouse in Veilguard. Lucanis never mentions them, saying only that Caterina took him and Illario in, and they are never referenced in regard to the attack that killed the rest of the family. Which to me implies they were gone before the attack.

I feel like their memory could become a point of either connection or contention between Caterina and a Lucanis-romanced Rook. Caterina likely has Opinions on how the partner of the First Talon should present themselves. If the marriage was a happy one, perhaps she is able to excise a bit of the burden of grief she carries by talking about them with Rook. If the marriage was unhappy, discussing it would only exhume an old bitterness. (Though I have trouble imagining Caterina staying in an unhappy marriage, so it’s possible they simply divorced, depending on what you believe about Antivan cultural and societal norms. Another possibility is that she never married and her children were fathered by whomever she saw fit, but I think that’s less likely.)

I also wonder about the people who married Caterina’s children. Did she arrange the marriages, or did she allow them to marry as they chose? Were they Crows, or did they come from other parts of Antivan society? Could one of them have been a Montilyet? (They would not have been from Josephine’s immediate family obviously but a cousin or other relation.)

Which begs the question: Could Lucanis’s father have been a Montilyet?

Can you imagine a twenty-something Lucanis forced to attend the wedding of Josephine and the Inquisitor? (I know her letter at the end of Veilguard implies she’s going to propose when the Inquisitor gets back, but you’re telling me Josephine was in a relationship for a decade and didn’t plan the wedding of the century? Be real.) Can you imagine Lucanis making awkward small talk with the Inquisition crew? That just makes me consider an even more interesting question (which I may or may not have to pursue in a fic someday):

I think the final couple of episodes of AOS season 3 are incredibly funny if only for the fact that Daisy is soooo fucking anemic and nobody acknowledges it at all.
