Gale was looking at it too, his mouth thin and pinched, they both knew what a wound like that meant.  “It’ll be okay,” Bucky said, as much to convince himself as Gale. “I’ll get Helen to look at it, she’s a devil with some surgical spirit. You’ll be right as rain in no time, okay?” “Sure, Bucky,” Gale said with a weak smile as Bucky leant forward, touching his forehead to Gale’s and feeling the terrifying difference in temperature. “I’m just gonna lay down a bit longer. I’m feeling’ real tired all of a sudden.”

While I continue to think of even more feral partners' things;

Melony doesn't quit being a maid like Max does cause... quite frankly she kind of enjoys the actual work, but also refusing to listen to the Grand Chambermaid, or anyone else, if she feels the way they tell her to do something is off/rude. And because people are so used to Mel just going "Okay." but now she won't it sparks a lil bit of verbal fights between Mel and other maids.

But also she only gains this type of confidence because Cass saw her get mildly pushed around once and went "Oh FUCK NO." and just went off. Then told Mel if people keep fucking with her just to call. (and Cass has proven she wasn't joking because she has shown up and assisted Mel with these arguments)

Which might not sound like a corruption arc but consider: Mel uses Cass as a threat all the time now. And it's not like Cass wouldn't follow through, and everybody knows that because the Dimitrescus are known to kill over fucking nothing.

Mel being a very hurt and angry person and all that manifesting in "My girlfriend will fucking murder you if you look at me funny." gives her this weird sense of bravado. (It doesn't make her untouchable like she might feel though.)
