I love Lestrade because he’s one of the few examples I can think of of a well written narrative punching bag.

He isn’t needlessly abused for absolutely no reason, he’s kind of an asshole. And he stubbornly refuses to learn his lesson.

But the way that he’s ‘punished’ isn’t overdone or to a ridiculous extreme, he’s just an asshole who gets his ass handed to him sometimes.

But we also learn over time that there’s more to his character, and he has genuine moments of being cool and bonding with Holmes and Watson.

I used some references of the earliest history pictures of police woman in Britain for her outfit. I kept something from her original design like the buttons of her hat and pattern of her scarf, speaking of her scarf Idk why i chose that for her but it's just felt right (and I still think that shbsjsb). For her hair, in her original design her braided bun reminded me of mochi donut and keep thinking of desert during the process, so i made it to look like swiss roll as shout-out to Gumshoe hehe.

Inspector Gadget wouldn't exist without the failed Lupin the 8th pilot. They even had their own proto-Penny called Alice who Goemon babysits for most of the pilot.

Since the Leblanc estate forced to pull the plug on Lupin VIII, the animators and staff were moved to create Inspector Gadget instead!
