I've not read fic for Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries before this year but by god I ought to have been, I love a good case fic and this is an EXCELLENT case fic - with a brilliant side of character delving to boot! this little speech in particular really got me between the ribs, I loved it.

(when I was writing out this description I got to the author name and was like "hmmm, why is this familiar?" and YES, this is by Fahye of half cloak & half dagger fame! they honestly have a truly fucking astounding number of different fandoms written for on their ao3,)

Jack is vulnerable and stretched to the max but he's got Phryne on his Team in every sense of the word. And Hugh chose the exact right moment to grow a pair and stand by his boss!
