Okay so about those headcanons-

I believe ascending to god-hood in Great God Grove is heavily Tied to a persons mental health, whole post is under read-more for the sake of everyone, poorly written ramblings by someone that struggles to write out thoughts below with some doodles (obviously spoilers too!) :

Aka dumb idiots who girl-rot (/silly) and don't handle their internal issues end up ascended in the realms hours to DAYS after the event instead of immediately after like in the case of King. In my headcanon this is because a gods new form is tied to who they are, and if you hate yourself, don't know who you are, or think you're nothing, it'll effect how you turn out, fighting with other aspects of how you see yourself for dominance. The harder the struggle to create a form, the more of a recoup period for said god to actually start being able to do things- think about it like recovering from exertion or from being sick.

This of course can lead to some problems for the said gods with more problems than others, like Inspekta:

He fears being nobody, dying, leaving nothing behind, and being forgotten- and when he ascended he quite literally lost his whole torso and his tail popped off! hands possibly representin' the others that propped him up! Finally waking up after ascending I'd take it he took his form rather poorly and actually needed extra time to recover *emotionally* before anything on top of the time needed to pop into full existence as a god. I believe when the other gods saw his entrance into the realm, it was quite literally him dropping in from a long ways up with a thud for the jacket and his head bouncing away (really silly, like a ball). while being able to put it together for the other gods he ended up really struggling about what he'd become in private.

Another god i believe may have had issues with ascending is not surprisingly, Click Clack. A god i feel in his human life spent making himself palatable and burying editing out how he felt about things and being unnoticed. Also wouldn't be surprising some of the burying editing came in during the time between him and Thespius ascended, his lover was above them now, after all! I actually drew how i envisioned his entrance to the god realm, because i'm biased.

Lady Gotham is Hope

Most ghosts that form are of people or beings that had existed before they died, but the more powerful ones are definitely built off of the manifest of emotions, concepts, or places.

Lady Gotham was a manifestation of her cities hope.

How much hope citizens had for the city to be better directly affected how her corporeal form would show off to those who see her.

She had been several things over the years because of this, from the wife of the cities richest billionaire to a random college student from the 60s. Lady Gotham had always been directly linked and affected by her citizens' hope and where they placed it.

She had never been able to fully control her forms either, constantly changing for the longest time until one day her form finally seems to stick onto one specific form of Hope.

Robin

Lady Gotham wore the face of Robin quickly into his run as a partner to her Knight. And as each one moves to give another the mantel, she shifts herself perfectly mirroring after each Robin that appears.

The point was that her corporeal form was continuously always Robin.

And Gotham loved it.

It meant an even deeper connection to her Knights even if they couldn't see her.

Gotham also enjoyed mirroring her Robins the most out of all the forms she's ever taken because of the fact there have been several of them. Due to that one factor, she can switch in between which Robin to be seen as whenever she pleased.

Her favorite ones to choose for her form were the 2nd, 3rd, and the 4th, since the 3 of them were Gothamite born, and by that logic, she had a deeper connection to them.

Anyways, this is important because Lady Gotham was not really used to being seen by anyone despite having a form to show off.

She doesn't really enjoy appearing in front of mortals (even her knights) because she is frankly a bit shy.

But when she does choose to be seen, she is usually in her choice of Robin form and she is doing it to help look after her citizens in some way or another (helping direct the homeless to a safer spot, looking after teens walking home, etc.)

All this to say, Robin is the cities official hope after all these years. Gotham is so proud to be able to be seen as Robin by humans who need her.

But you can imagine Batmans internal heart attack when the manifestation of a not so dead Jason Todd Robin is having a glowing eyes staring contest with him in the back of an alley in the Narrows one night.

And how it gets even worse when he sees the Robin protectively sheltering over a homeless and bleeding out looking teenager in that same alley.

With a breath so faint, Batman isn't even sure if the kid is going to make it.
