i've seen so many posts talking about percy adopting luke's role as chb's big brother. and while i do love the sentiment of percy being that safe space for all of those demigods, i think it would make an equal amount of sense for annabeth to also adopt that role. she's been at camp since she was seven years old, so not only does she have a deep understand of the chb community, but she can sympathize with all the youngers campers who are struggling to find a family within that community. furthermore, she is a resourceful two-time war veteran with more experience than almost every person in that camp combined. annabeth could also be the older and experience camper for all of the newcomers. period.

What if you were a little girl in her 40's who couldn't grow up because of your mother-wife who made you sleep in her bed and forced you to repress every sexual desires and thoughts of becoming your own person just to keep you close to her ? What if you fought back and yearned for dangerous things out of her reach ? But also, what if you let her because it's all you've ever known and been taught to want ?

I love that in the Podcast they specifically said they wanted to frame the hospital fight not as this action packed scene, but as sad. Because Joel has completely disassociated. He’s checked out because trauma can do that to a person, let’s you separate what’s happening. They said this is him burning his soul for this one girl. He’s doing what needs to be done in the same way Marlene did but while her focus was humanity, his focus is just Ellie. It’s tunnel vision. He kills anyone who is a threat and even if they drop their weapon, they could change their mind and still shoot him and then Ellie dies. He doesn’t kill the doctor until he becomes a threat by wielding the scalpel.  And them saying Marlene actually signed her death warrant the moment she said “let me go” because it meant she planned to try and survive her wound. There would be a tomorrow and in that tomorrow, she would try and come after them. So of course she had to die because her living meant Ellie wouldn’t be safe.

Absolutely fantastic performance from Erika on this episode, did you notice how Tula is having a big emotionally vulnerable moment, and all it takes is for Ava to show a tiny bit of emotional introspection finally, and everyone is comforting her instead of her daughter

desperately need people to understand that alicent is a victim but she’s also an abuser and a perpetrator

that she actively makes choices to harm other women because of jealousy and envy and the greed deep in her bones because submitting to suffering didn’t get her what those women fight to grasp for themselves.

she is absolutely a victim, in show.

that doesn’t change that she abused rhaenyra and her children, her own son, most likely helaena given how she flinches every time her mother touches her, and is actively weaponizing the patriarchy of westeros against other women- rhaenyra primarily, but also mysaria and dyana.

she isn’t the moral, righteous force of good that even she thinks she is, she’s a wounded woman directing all of the rot, pain, and fury inside her at the wrong people and forces.

when mutagenicity!minato makes team 4, he does know that kushina will probably imprint on them. for a while she's just passionately calling them "my students" and that's cute. he loves that for her. but then she occasionally calls them "my children" and he's like. hmm. weird but kushina is passionate. but she slowly starts saying it more often, and then, one day, "our children." and he realizes way to late in the game that maybe he made a mistake

"it's a comfort read," you say, shrugging, your toes pushing the floorboards again. spencer slowly sits in the rocking chair beside you and you silently return to the symphonies of the moist, summer night. at least - you do until spencer starts talking about his interpretation of the novel and you listen, your eyes focused on the harsh, slice of darkness where the porch light doesn't reach.

Mainly does her own thing , she has a hard time making friends since she isn’t.. super compatible with others . Most of the Armstrongs are like that.

She wants to feel important but is constantly pushed to the side , so she’s usually always grumpy. Not staying she can’t be happy , she just kinda gets into a funk

Kiriona said that if she killed Alecto, she would be John's cavalier. That's so interesting to me, because it's the one relationship we've never seen in a necrocav pairing. We've had siblings, lovers, cousins, best friends, coworkers, uncles, servants, and whatever the fuck Babs and Ianthe had going on, but never a parent and child.

Unless.

We still don't know what Samael and Anastasia's relationship was, but we do know now that Anastasia was already a mother before the ascension. Pyrrha painted a nursery for her.

It would be very interesting if Samael had been Anastasia's son.

that excerpt reminded me that an underrated aspect of your writing is the way you capture Alastor and Charlie's dynamic, it's so good. i know it's not usually the focus but you capture them so well in all their interactions

I just think their relationship is very crunchy. He lies about how much he cares for her and he's taking advantage of her, but, oops, he does actually have a great deal of fondness for her even if it started as ironic and mocking (and still is, often)! She's earnest in her love for her friends, but she's not actually so naive to think that Alastor's not taking advantage of her, but but she does still love and care for him regardless, and, and -

Etc, etc! My most earnest hope for canon is that his "caring for people vs power/pride vs self-preservation" struggle involves Charlie genuinely giving him the space to crash and burn if he needs to, and then picking him back up and giving him another chance and the help he needs. Like with Sir Pentious, but on a much grander scale - it still starts with "sorry"!
