Sexiest Podcast Character — Unscripted Bracket — Round 3
Propaganda
Ver'million "Millie" Blue (Friends at the Table: PARTIZAN):
Mech pilot with a body horror mode and a thematic dog motif. She’s trans in a culture that does gender way different than contemporary human genders, and she’s sexy about it. Escaped a military super soldier cloning program to join a revolutionary organization. Kind of a fish person (pls look up art of her, it’s all excellent). Dreams of settling down into a peaceful life and is so so so wife to me
She's a canonical goth trans woman with sick teal hair and scales and she's an alien who's vaguely fishlike and she's a sniper and an absolute shit kicker she's literally SO sexy
ok so i did just submit Pickman bc she won my tournament but i gotta say, Milli is my personal pick for sexiest f@tt character! she's goth! she could kill me! but she won't! she just wants to be away from the war! she's breaking out of the worldview she's been conditioned in to since infancy! her mech is called the stray dog! and after the campaign ends she goes around recruiting so many people that they recognizably start getting called the stray dogs! she's so excited to have literally any participation in governing! she spends a while going around the moon to install a communications system and gets to learn what its like when you approach people in a way that isn't immediately antagonistic! SHE DECLARED A GOOD HER RIVAL! she got SO close to getting out but then her sense of duty to others pulled her back in (im not actually sure if that last one is hot exactly but it SURE is compelling). AND SHE'S A FISH WHO REJECTED THE GENDER SYSTEM SHE GREW UP IN FOR ONE NOT DESIGNED TO FURTHER WARFARE!
The entire blog @fuckyeahvermillionblue.
milli cannot lose she is the second sexiest fatt character and Pickman already lost so Milli has to carry it forward come on she chose to be a woman when her culture/species literally doesn't have women, she was a prisoner doing forced labour and she still wore goth prom clothes to a state funeral and got messy drunk and she's got a big gun and a leather jacket that says "Divine Retribution" in red and she Is SO COOL AND SEXY that the revolutionary group included "Look Sick as Shit" as one of their 8 main tenets exclusively because she fucking whipped ass at the combination MET gala/Olympics by doing combined sniping/trick shots with her mech
sorry but the rest of this propaganda is too good to leave in tags
#But milli is literally a clone raised in fascist school for war and now she uses her sniping skills for revolution#She chose to be a woman when her culture/species doesn't even HAVE women. She's teal haired and trans and sexy#And she's so funny and everyone accepts that she's cool and competent and she made her mech be able to cry#She's literally goth gf. She wants to retire to a cottage. She's canonically into women. Like come on.
Millie is the best girl and you should vote for her. Her mech is a transformer that cries
VER'MILLION BLUE HOT BUFF CHICK
VOTE MILLIE
Kravitz (The Adventure Zone: Balance):
Grim Reaper. So hot he managed to date Taako from TV
gotta be krav

Hi all I've been seeing a few posts about Vinesh Phogat's situation and as a former wrestler myself I am compelled to explain precisely what is sensible vs not sensible to be mad about, because I see a lot of people getting mad over the wrong details and if you're going to be mad about a situation you should be mad about the right situation.
tl;dr: If you're going to get mad about the situation don't get mad because she couldn't compete due to not making weight, get mad because she didn't get the silver medal she would have absolutely won if she had made weight. Still, everything that happened happened by the book.
So to summarize, Vinesh Phogat is a competitor in the 50kg bracket of Women's Olympic Freestyle Wrestling. She seems to have a pretty damn respectable record and was going to be a finalist, but was disqualified on Wednesday morning for failing to make weight: she weighed 100g (3.5oz) over the 50kg (110lb) limit. This is where I see a lot of people getting mad and saying "they're seriously disqualifying her for being a few grams over the limit??"
Yes. That is how weight classes work.
In the 2024 Olympics, women's (freestyle) wrestling has weight classes for 50, 53, 57, 62, 68, and 76kg. Each wrestler registers to compete in one and only one of these weight classes. That means that, on the morning(s) of the competition each wrestler's weight must be less than or equal to their weight class. Hypothetically somebody under 50kg could compete in the 53kg weight class, but that doesn't happen very often for the very same reason weight classes exist in the first place: weight is a very significant advantage in wrestling. Tournaments generally (as far as I know) do not simply allow people to compete in a different weight class if they weigh in above their weight class. Tournaments take long enough as it is when everything goes according to plan, but changing up the bracket to accommodate an over-weight wrestler in a way that's fair to everyone else who did make weight in that higher weight class doesn't make things easier.
Regardless of gender, sex, nationality, race, identity, or any other demographic category you can think of, this is the case for any person who wrestles in any wrestling tournament that took real effort to organize. If the scale can tell you're over the weight limit, then you are not allowed to compete.
All of this is to say that not allowing someone to compete because of a measly 100g above weight is perfectly typical in the world of wrestling. Vinesh Phogat made weight on Tuesday and did a fantastic job making her way to the finals, but did not make weight on Wednesday and as a result could not compete in the finals, and that this is completely standard procedure.
What's the big fucking deal then?
The big deal is that Vinesh Phogat did not only de facto lose the gold medal, but she was denied a silver medal despite earning it by all measures. That is why she's upset, and that's why she's appealing the Court of Arbitration for Sport. She successfully made weight and won her semifinal match on Tuesday, but was denied a silver medal despite having met the conditions for the silver medal.
Now to be perfectly frank, the treatment of this case is made pretty clear by United World Wrestling (the governing body for Olympic wrestling) in its rulebook. Taken from article 11 - Weigh-In:
If an athlete does not attend or [fails] the weigh-in (the 1st or the 2nd weigh-in), [she] will be eliminated of the competition and ranked last, without rank (Exception: cf. Article 56 - Medical Service Intervention).
That being said, I personally get how she feels because if she had made weight it would be impossible for her not to earn a silver medal at the worst.
The upshot of this is to remind you that if you're going to get mad about a situation, please research the details of the situation and get mad about the right thing. Phogat didn't make weight, and at any wrestling tournament across the world that would mean she doesn't compete, and getting mad about this is silly. Because she didn't make weight, she wasn't given her medal, and although that's by the books I think there's a legitimate argument to be made that she deserves the medal she earned on the day that she did make weight.

Swordswoman Showdown Round 3
Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower (Bloodborne) vs Alanna of Trebond (The Lioness Quartet)
(Better here in a "preferred character" sense, not "who would win in a fight")
Propaganda below cut
Lady Maria
She has a double-bladed sword called Rakuyo that can split in two to be dual-wielded; She's haunting the narrative and the whole game foreshadows her existence
She wields the rakuyo, twin-bladed trick weapon that can transform into a matching katana and dagger, making it a versatile weapon; She one of the highest-ranked Hunters in the game, and fights like an experienced PVP opponent. During the boss fight against her, she stabs herself twice, first to bloody her blades and increase the range of her attacks, and the second time to cause her blades to emit flame when she strikes. Finally, she starts off the boss fight with this quote: "A corpse, should be left well alone. Oh, I know very well how the secrets beckon so sweetly. Only an honest death will cure you now. Liberate you from your wild curiosity."
She fights with a sick twin bladed sword which can split into two smaller swords, She was too hard and I couldn't beat her :'(
Duel wielding sword and dagger that combine as a twin blade; Best boss in the game. Also taller than your character by a full head. Her outfit is fashion as fuck as well.
Alanna of Trebond
Literal lady knight, has never lost a duel as King's Champion
Disguised herself as a boy to train as a knight and learn the sword. Practices with a giant sword to increase inductance. Finds (is found by?) a special magic sword. One of the best swords people in her country.
She was the first lady knight in Tortall in centuries and paved the way for other lady knights like Kel. She's also a shortstack hero who regularly kicks butt. Won several sword fighting tournaments against her male peers while disguised as a man.
Can't stand the idea of getting sent to a convent, so she switches places with her twin brother and disguises her gender to go off and become Tortall's first lady knight. Engages in much sword-wielding badassery, not just through inherent talent but through working twice as hard as the boys who skate by on their size and comparitive strength. In later Tamora Pierce books she shows up again as a mother, but even having kids doesn't stop her from going off and doing more heroic sword-swinging. H*ck yeah.
She’s her realm’s first Lady Knight in centuries and a genuine hero. She disguised herself as a man to earn her shield. She was the King’s Champion for decades; One of the first major women heros in YA fantasy, from the 1980! According to the author, if Alanna had the words for it, she would be gender fluid
disguised herself as a boy entirely to learn swords and become a knight, becomes the first lady knight in her country in centuries; Alanna is so iconic that decades of queer fans have seen themselves in her and any author signing is accompanied by a mob of sobbing millennials over how much finally meeting and thanking the author for writing Alanna meant to them

Absence of gender test took away deserved wins from women athletes
Thomas Bach surprised everyone with the statement that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) does not have a scientifically proven method for determining the gender of athletes.
The IOC chief accused the International Boxing Association (IBA) that they have no proof that athletes Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan failed the gender test. Bach told media:
“I looked at the transcript of the press conference of this organisation – it wasn’t even clear there what tests and what results were being talked about. In any case, what was reported there is not consistent with the science.”
Khelif failed to pass the gender test at the IBA World Championships in India a year ago. Also, Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting failed a similar test at that championship. The IOC subsequently approved both athletes to participate in the Games.
Italy’s Angela Carini refused to continue her fight against Khelif. The fight lasted 46 seconds. During the fight, Carini asked for a stoppage and said she would not continue the fight. She said, refusing to shake hands with her opponent at the end of the match:
“I’m terribly hurt, I don’t want to continue. It’s unfair.”
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called the fight unequal and called for athletes with male genetic traits not to be allowed to compete in women’s events.
Khelif won Olympic gold in the women’s 66kg. In the final bout of the Olympic tournament, Khelif faced China’s Yang Liu. The Algerian representative was awarded the victory by unanimous decision of the judges.
The IBA conducted a gender text for “Algerian boxer” Imane Khelif in 2022 and the results were in line with males biologically, vice-president and former IBA general secretary Istvan Kovacs noted. Kovacs said in an interview with Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet:
“The problem was not Khelif’s testosterone level, because it can be corrected, but the result of the gender test, which clearly showed that Iman is male from a biological point of view.”
Kovacs also added that the IBA conducted tests for four other boxers who gave the same result. This information was sent to the IOC, but they did not react in any way.
Last week, IOC chief Thomas Bach said he would not be re-elected in 2025. He said:
“As a result of deep reflection and extensive discussions, including with my family here in the room, I have come to the conclusion that my mandate should not be extended beyond the term stipulated in the Olympic Charter.”
The IOC postponed a decision on Bach’s term extension in July. At that time, a decision on an amendment to the Olympic Charter to allow the German’s powers to be extended was not accepted by the organisation’s legal affairs commission and was postponed until 2025.
Last October, several IOC members at the organisation’s session in India suggested that Bach should not resign after his second term expires in 2025.
Bach has been a member of the IOC since 1991, he led the organisation in 2013 for eight years and then stayed on for a new four-year term. His term expires in 2025. He is the 1976 Olympic champion in team foil.

To anyone crying "b-but her chromosomes!"
There is no evidence that Imane Khelif has XY chromosomes. That rumor was started after she was disqualified from a tournament after taking an UNSPECIFIED "gender test." The legitimacy of said test, which was conducted by Russia, is suspected to have been rigged so Imane wouldn't wipe the floor with the Russian competitors. The tournament that disqualified Imane would also later lose its relations with other boxing organizations because its leadership was shady. So why trust what they say?
There is no public record of Imane being intersex or even having higher-than-average levels of testosterone. There IS record of her being born female on her passport and birth certificate. She has lived her life as a woman. Identifies as a woman. And has been eligible to fight in many women's boxing tournaments, including the Paris Olympics and the previous Tokyo Olympics, with no issue. If she were trans, she wouldn't have ever been capable of transitioning nor appearing in the women's sport, considering being transgender is illegal in her country.
And even if she was intersex, that wouldn't make her a man. The people crying about her possibly having XY chromosomes are the same transphobes who say sex should be determined by your genitals. But now that's been thrown at the window, they're resorting to middle-school-level thinking that XY = male and XX = female regardless of someone's biological body at birth. Which is logic they would NEVER grant actual trans-identifying people with.
Even if Imane was born in a woman's body with XY chromosomes, what could she do about it? What exactly do these people want her to do? Identify as a male even though she was born in a female body? So they'd call her trans no matter what??
And the argument that women's sports shouldn't allow intersex women or women with higher-than-average levels of testosterone are fucking ridiculous. Many female athletes have higher levels of testosterone. Policing women on if they're "female enough" to compete in a sport is disgusting and totalitarian.
News flash: the Olympics are meant to display athletes who are exceptional at the sport. Many Olympians have natural advantages, so why is it only an issue when it concerns gender? Saying that it is unfair to let women with high testosterone compete with other women is the same as saying it's unfair for taller than average basketball players to compete with other men. The Olympics aren't for your average joe. Plus, there are plenty of athletes, such as Michael Phelps, who have rare genetic conditions that aid them in their sport.
But that's not to discount that these Olympians, including Imane, EARNED their spot in the Olympic stadium. Imane has been a boxer for years. She had her fair share of losses, including the Tokyo Olympics, which no one had any issue with. It's disrespectful and misogynist to assume that the only reason Imane could have won that one match was purely because she's allegedly intersex, and not because she hasn't trained like hell to be an expert at the sport.
There are surely other women in the world who are intersex or have high testosterone who don't come close to the athleticism of Imane or any other Olympian, either. So, the argument of testosterone being an unfair natural advantage further proves itself to be baseless.
We should be able to celebrate the accomplishments of female athletes without bringing their femininity into question. We already mistreat female athletes as it is, we don't need any absurd reason to prevent exceptionally skilled women from competing over their hormone levels they have no control of.
Men aren't being tested on their testosterone levels, or if they happen to be born with XX chromosomes. Even though testosterone levels vary between men as well, and for all we know, maybe some of the male Olympians have XX chromosomes despite being born male. But it's only concern if the person in questiom is a woman. One who is not white nor traditionally feminine by Western standards.
The harrassment against Imane is not some honest attempt to protect womens sports or female athletes. It's a vain attempt to police women by pushing harmful, transphobic, and uneducated ideals on what women should be like.

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova took aim at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) for its policy allowing men claiming to be women to compete in the women’s category, calling the policy “unfair.”
Navratilova took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) account on Sunday to respond to a post by Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS) founder Kim Shasby Jones who was also critical of allowing men to play pro tennis as women.
Shasby Jones wrote, “women’s tennis is turning into a laughing stock because of these terrible policies prioritizing the mental health and identity of men over women who have discovered a love of tennis.”
Navratilova agreed and added that women’s tennis should not be a destination for failed male players.
“Come on @USTA- women’s tennis is not for failed male athletes- whatever age,” Navratilova wrote. “This is not right and it is not fair. Would this be allowed at the US Open this month? Just with self ID? I don’t think so.”
In her post, Shasby Jones added that female players are beginning to complain privately about how unfair it is to allow men to compete against them.
“Men are winning national titles, taking the place of women on team tennis, and competing in women’s tournaments across the country,” Shasby Jones wrote.
“We need to let the women and girls playing tennis know that they deserve to be treated fairly and recognized for their accomplishments no matter when they pick up the sport. They do not have to reach any kind of elite status,” she said.
“There is already a category for male athletes to enjoy this privilege. Let female athletes enjoy the game of tennis too.”
“Change the policy and @BillieJeanKing change your stance – don’t abandon these women and this sport any longer,” she concluded.
The discussion comes on the heels of a transgender athlete winning a women’s tennis tournament in Philadelphia last month, Fox News reported.
The U.S. Tennis Association maintains that trans athletes must identify as the opposite gender for “four years”. It adds that a gender switch is not legitimate if it is “only for sporting purposes.”
“Hormonal therapy appropriate for the assigned sex has been administered in a verifiable manner and for a sufficient length of time to minimize gender-related advantages in sport competitions,” the police also states.
For its part, the World Tennis Authority policy contains specific testosterone levels for men claiming to be transgender women and maintains that testosterone must be “below 10 nmol/L for at least twelve (12) months prior to her first WTA Tournament.”
“The player’s total testosterone level in serum must remain below 10 nmol/L throughout the period of desired eligibility to enter into and participate in any WTA Tournament,” the policy says.
Navratilova has been an outspoken opponent of transgender athletes competing in women’s categories. In one of her recent comments, for instance, Navratilova slammed U.S. soccer star Megan Rapinoe when the soccer player announced that trans women should be allowed to play as women in any sport they desire.
In June, Navratilova called out a North Carolina cycling competition for allowing a man to race as a woman. And when the man won the race in the women’s category, Navratilova called the race a “joke.”

What is Esther Most Correct About? Tournament Round 1, Matches 17-32 Recap:
17. While I am absolutely correct about "Pottery is one of River's special interests", the winner of this match with x/22 (63.6%) of the votes was "River carried pictures of the Doctor specifically because of the audio Signs" - and for good reason. That audio is Really Something.
18. Not every audio gets to be so lucky, however. "The fan audio Exhausted Supplies is canon" ended up losing to "River should have actually been giving back the diamond in THORS" which received x/19 (63.2%) of the votes.
19. In wonderful news regarding my plan to try to spread it as fanon, "Mia is short for Stayuexisumigorkefloryan" beat "Rose develops major anxiety around cars" with 12/23 (52.2%) of the votes!
20. If I thought I could get away without having to develop some sort of plan for ties, I thought wrong. "Pete's World sucks" and "Pete Tyler sucks" each received 13 votes, giving us the first Officially Equally Correct match up of the bracket!
21. "Sarah Jane vouched for Rose in the Turn Left parallel universe" is still true in my heart, but "Gomez!Master comes after Dhawan!Master in their personal timeline" - which won with 76.2% (16/21) of the votes - is true in a few more people's hearts - and you can't blame them, it's something I'm correct about.
22. "Rose and Sarah Jane were besties" lost to "Rose and Martha would have been besties", which received 60.9% (14/23) votes, but she's allowed to have more than one bestie, even of one was declared more correct than the other 😌
23. The numbers don't lie! While "Jack thinks Rose looks like Billie Piper - no one else really sees it" is a fun concept, 78.3% (18/23) of voters think "Jack and Rose should have gotten a more meaningful reunion" - I have it on good authority that some of them even still complain about that semi-regularly after all this time.
24. As much as I like to think about "Rose blames Jack for every zombie she meets", "Jack created the Bad Wolf computer virus" - one of my longest held headcanons - deserved its with with 70.6% (12/17) of the votes!
25. Is anyone surprised that "Rose realized she was bisexual before series 2" beat "Jack says Rose's type is arsonists" with 64% (16/25) of the votes?
26. keeping with the Rose-is-bi agenda: "Rose came out to Mickey as bisexual while they were in Pete's World" beat "Rose and Mickey made up in Pete's World" with 65.2% (15/23) of the votes!
27. While No Hot Ashes is a lovely piece of lore "Mickey and Rose considered themselves broken up before the book Winner Takes All" beat "No Hot Ashes >>>>>>>>" with 88.9% or 16/18 of the votes! That the highest percentage of votes that an option has recieved so far in the bracket!
28. Despite how conflicted opinions on Girl in the Fireplace can be within the fandom, ""...keep turning up. Like a bad wolf." from a novel was the best "bad wolf" drop" beat "The Clockwise Man was a better use of clockwork droids than GitF" with 63.6% (14/22) of the votes!
29. In proof that I rigged exactly zero of these polls in favor of my little guy, "The Doctor is a butch dyke" beat "Ganger!Eleven is great and has a lot of untapped fanfiction potential" with 78.6% (22/28) of the votes.
30. "Rose Tyler/Toshiko Sato. Not sorry." beat "The Pete's World version of the Tarot Girl from Torchwood spoke to Rose" with 64.7% (11/17) of the votes! Rarepair writers, if you're listening, now's your chance -
31. With 19/32 votes (or 59.4%), "It's weird to think Martha still has a grudge after 15 years" beat "Whatever's going on with Ten and Thirteen's gender is exactly the same" nearly 2:1!
32. With 69.7% (23/33) of the votes, the correct answer for Top Secret Match #32 (The Doctor would Heaven Sent for Sarah Jane and Amy Pond and Donna Noble and Rose Tyler and also -) was selected!

I was having an artblock and then came up with the idea of drawing D.Va and another member of the MEKA squad, D.Mon aka Lee Yuna. I feel like Yuna should be added to the game and I have ideas for her lore (not her ability kit).
Let me tell you them...
First, I imagine D.Mon is the oldest of the squad at the age of 24. Because she looks like in her mid 20s and is probably a lot more mature than the others in her team. She basically treated as a big sister to the other squad members, including D.Va/Hana Song.
D.Mon and D.Va known each other since D.Mon was in grade 1 in high school. They both became friends because of the same interest in video games. One of the games they like to play is "Mecha Guardian V". They then end up in the same team during a e-sports tournament with D.Va barely winning 1st place, which lead to D.Mon becoming her mentor in e-sports related games.
D.Mon was the last person to join MEKA because she wasn't sure about the whole deal of hiring professional gamers into riding mechas. But D.Va convinced her to join that the others needs guidance from her like how D.Mon have given D.Va guidance during their times at e-sports.
D.Mon and D.Va have a twin sibling like relationship. Having their codenames both back in e-sports and when working for MEKA (D.Va - D.Mon) and have their rooms in-base next to each other.
And finally, D.Mon is a trans woman. I believe it's about time to introduce a trans character into Overwatch AND I DON'T CARE WHAT PEOPLE SAY! I imagine D.Mon didn't identify as a woman until 3 months later after her and D.Va became friends. D.Va literally has no idea what transgender is, but is pretty curious at it. When learning more about her gender identity, D.Mon and D.Va learn more about the queer community in South Korea. D.Mon came out to her parents which got her shunned by her parents and kicked her out of the house. But D.Va allowed D.Mon to stay at her place until she has enough money to buy a place of her own. After D.Mon transitioned and deciding to join MEKA, Captain Myung found out about D.Mon being trans and was about to reject the application, but D.Va defended D.Mon. Telling Myung that she is the best gamer D.Va has ever since and that D.mon's knowledge in combat could help the other members learn new skills and even be a mentor of some sort, just like how D.Mon did it to D.Va. After several minutes, Myung finally gave in and let D.Mon join.
Oh, and one more thing, D.Mon is also pansexual who is secretly in a relationship with a genderfluid person name Moon Ji-won (문지원). I imagine that when you're working in MEKA, you can't form any relationships due to believing that love will get the squad distracted from fighting the gwishin (which is a reason why D.Va kept her crush on Dae-hyun to herself from anyone. (I ship them, fight me.)) D.Mon and Ji-won met at a retro arcade cafe and became close ever since.
Sooooo anyway that what I came up for D.Mon... Also. if you have any ideas on how she would work in the game, let me know.

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif defiant after winning gold
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/algerian-boxer-imane-khelif-defiant-after-winning-gold/
Algerian boxer Imane Khelif defiant after winning gold
Algerian boxer Imane Khelif has spoken out after she won gold while dealing with a tidal of transphobic hate during the Paris Olympics.
The female boxer from Algeria was dragged into the global spotlight after the Russian – yes, Russian – president of the disgraced International Boxing Association claimed she had failed an unspecified gender eligibility test at a tournament last year.
The IOC disregarded the IBA’s findings as “flawed” and “illegitimate” and stood by Imane Khelif, declaring her eligible.
Imane is not a trans woman, and queer identities are criminalised in Algeria. But a transphobia-driven flood of misinformation and abuse exploded online, amplified by – surprise! – Russian disinformation networks linked to the Kremlin.
Imane Khelif beat Yang Liu of China 5-0 in the gold medal match of the women’s welterweight division, as spectators cheered and chanted her name.
Speaking after her win, she said the ugly attacks during the Olympics gave her medal win a special significance.
“I’m very happy. For eight years, this has been my dream, and I’m now the Olympic champion and gold medallist,” Imane said through an interpreter.
“My honour is intact now, but the attacks I heard on social media were extremely bad – but they are meaningless.
“They impact the dignity of people and I think now people’s thinking has changed.
“As for the IBA, since 2018 I’ve been boxing under the umbrella of the IBA. They know me very well, they know what I am capable and they know how I have developed over the years.
“Now they are not recognised anymore. They hate me and I don’t know why.
“I’ve sent them a single message with this gold medal, telling them my dignity and my honour is above everything else.”
Imane Khelif says bullying not in spirit of the Olympics
Imane added, “I am fully qualified to take part in this competition. I am a woman like any other woman.
“I was born a woman, I live as a woman, I compete as a woman. There’s no doubt about that.
“There are enemies of success – this is what I call them. That also gives my success a special taste because of these attacks.”
Imane said, “I think that the whole world knows the story of Imane Khelif. I am from a very small village in Algeria.
“I was born and raised in a poor neighbourhood but my family was always proud of me and supported me in this sport.
“My message to the whole world is that they should commit to Olympic principles and avoid bullying. I hope that we will not see any similar attacks at future Olympics.”

I've asked in the past what might differ if Sam, and not Tory, caught Silver paying off the referee. With a bit of time having passed, honestly the way I see things going in season 5 would be something to the effect of this:
Sam happens to see Silver and the referee through the blinds while on her way to grab her stuff from the locker room. She hears just enough to realize that she lost because she got cheated out of a win.
Sam tells her dad and Johnny about this. And they, plus Amanda and Chozen, spend the first half of the season building a case against Silver for rigging the tournament, and why they think the tournament should get a do-over. Thus, 5x05 sees Daniel bring Sam before the All-Valley committee to make the case that the season 4 AVT's results should be invalidated and a do-over tournament should be scheduled. Sam makes a speech to the AVT committee not unlike Miguel's town hall speech in 3x08, and just like she provided support for him there, he provides support for her here, helping her make the case for why she, and everyone else in Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang and the other dojos, deserves a second chance.
Sam has to tread carefully here, considering that she's making these allegations speaking as the person who lost the girls' finals. So she has the uphill battle of knowing the potential optics of the second place finisher crying foul, and the possibility that the AVT committee will publicly spin her as a sore loser if she doesn't say the right things.
Fortunately, the committee are won over by Sam's case. They have known Daniel for years, not to mention there is the fact that Cobra Kai was banned after the 1985 tournament because of Silver's shenanigans there too. An announcement is made that "in light of Samantha LaRusso's allegations of bribery and match rigging, the 2019 All-Valley Tournament results have been invalidated. A do-over tournament is scheduled for the first weekend of September."
Tory is made to return her trophy, the last few episodes of season 5 are about the dojos all preparing for the new All-Valley, and the season finale is about this do-over All-Valley that climaxes in a Sam vs. Robby finals fight.
That's an interesting series of events for sure, but...that would also rely on the AVT committee not being as much of a joke as they were in s5 canon. I mean...really guys, gendered divisions now? Implying that no girls have fought in the AVT before s1?
(I guess that was the writers' implication, which...is not the progressive take they think it is. There's no way s1 was the first time there were female fighters)
Plus, we see in the show that the AVT committee frequently prioritizes Kreese (and Silver, I think? But definitely Kreese) over Daniel and Amanda (and Johnny, but at least that makes sense within the context of what canon has told us). Sam and Miguel managed to convince them in s3, but that's because they kept pushing and refused to budge...and the fact that Miguel was the victim of 2x10 who was in Cobra Kai under Johnny and Kreese helped too.
Oh, and given that Silver is known for bribing pretty much everyone who gets in his way, it's not unreasonable to think he'd do the same to the committee. So while this would be cool to see in theory, the execution probably wouldn't be quite like this.

VALORANT World Champion Provides Clear Answer on Possible Return to Counter-Strike 2
G2 Gozen’s VALORANT star Michaela “mimi” Lintrup said today she’s not switching back to her old FPS title, not even with all the hype around Counter-Strike 2’s limited test launch yesterday. “ got asked a lot if I will be going back to CS after the release of CS2,” mimi said on Twitter. “VALORANT has changed my life completely for the better and given me opportunities I used to dream of. I have never enjoyed gaming this much as right now, so switching won’t be happening. Enjoy the game, though.” https://twitter.com/mimimimichaela/status/1638842727503650817 Mimi made the switch from CS:GO to VALORANT in May 2021 after a long tenure in Valve’s FPS. She started competing in 2013 and played for a number of organizations such as LDLC, Team Secret, Copenhagen Flames, and XSET. The Dane was one of the most dominant players in the female scene and lifted several trophies during her career, including Intel Challenge Katowice in 2016 and 2017 and Copenhagen Games in 2017. Mimi has also become one of the household names in VALORANT and her brand should only grow if Riot Games keeps expanding Game Changers, a circuit for women and marginalized genders. She won VCT Game Changers Championship in November 2022, the biggest Game Changers tournament to date. While mimi has made it clear that she won’t switch to CS2, Julia “juliano” Kiran—mimi’s old teammate and an iconic name in both CS:GO and VALORANT esports—switched back to Counter-Strike earlier this month to play for G2 Oya, the organization’s first female team in Valve’s FPS. The female competitions are getting bigger in Counter-Strike as well after ESL launched the Impact circuit in 2022, which hosts several tournaments for women across the year, and Valve has the opportunity to start sponsoring these tournaments and contribute to the growth of the scene after CS2 launches worldwide this summer. Gamer boyfriend.
aespa x male reader + gn reader.
gender: fluff.
warnings: I don't speak english well, i use a translator. slight suspicion of sleep paralysis, Winter worried. Are those valid caveats?
author's note: I really have no idea about video games, just the basics. My older brother is the expert so he just walked me through the events we had together, sorry if it didn't go well.
💭 Karina.
At first it was impressive, not in a bad way; if not it was something that was not expected. She always saw you somewhat ignorant in video games that she did not expect you to actually have a complete collection of many of them, nor does she expect that in your free time in addition to dating her and going out with your friends you like to play them.
"Wow honey, I wasn't expecting it, it's not a bad thing! But you seemed so disinterested when we saw commercials for some kind of games that I never thought you would like them."
Every time I saw that there was a new video game, I would quickly tell you so that you would see that your activities mattered to him, I would ask you if you could teach him to play and thus enjoy moments together doing something that you liked and if you liked it, she was happy.
💭 Giselle.
I suspected it, every time I went to your apartment I heard your friends yelling through your computer, I didn't pay attention to them; I knew how rebellious they could be when I was with you. But their suspicion was confirmed when they almost drool when they walked past a video game store. It wasn't something that bothered him, he was happy to know so much more about you.
Whenever he had the opportunity, he would tell you about a new game to play together.
"Honey, now that I was coming this way I found a new video game that is on pre-sale, we should go find one."
💭 Winter.
In fact, Winter didn't suspect anything at first, but after seeing your continuous dark circles on her dates, she became concerned, hoped you weren't pushing yourself too hard at work or college, or maybe you were developing sleep paralysis. It was almost a common thing in college, so he was much more concerned that it was the latter. But when he found out it was because of video games, since you were in a tournament, he couldn't help but feel relieved and angry at the same time. I was happy that it wasn't any of her worries and that you were doing activities that you were passionate about, but I didn't want your health to be neglected because of it.
"It's okay that you want to win that tournament, I want it too, but you're neglecting your health and that's something I'm not going to allow. So go to sleep now, no complaints!. You are such a stubborn man."
💭 Ningning.
They always played together, even if your video game skills were more developed than hers, you always had fun, you taught her some tricks and she was happy to kiss you every time you won a game, only when you didn't.
He was always looking for varieties of games to experiment together, until he discovered a very popular horror game.
Let me tell you, it was the worst idea or maybe the best, you had Ningning screaming every time a figure appeared, even if it wasn't out of terror. Even after you finished playing you had the beautiful girl trembling with fear, that night they slept curled up to protect her from her fear. But it's something you shouldn't complain about, right?
"I'm happy to have a strong boyfriend like you who will protect me from that ugly video game."

Great interview!
https://www.fifa.com/tournaments/womens/womensworldcup/australia-new-zealand2023/news/kerr-the-world-cup-buzz-is-already-starting
‘Beyond Greatness’ is the slogan of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ and, for Sam Kerr, it could prove prophetic.
Scoring more goals than any Australian in history and gathering golden boots across the world has long since secured, and cemented, the striker’s status as a national icon.
Yet that World Cup, which kicks off in just 500 days’ time, offers the genuine, tantalising opportunity to trade greatness for immortality.
Kerr, who turns 29 in September, recently finished runner-up in the voting for The Best FIFA Women’s Player and, incredibly, claimed six top-scorer awards across three separate leagues – in three different continents – between 2017 and 2021. She’s also well on course to add a seventh golden boot to that collection in 2022.
But for the defenders in whom the Chelsea and Matildas star already inspires fear and dread, there is bad news. Kerr, it seems, is just getting started.
“There’s definitely more to come from me,” she told FIFA. “Everyone’s trying to say 28 is the peak but people like Megan Rapinoe won [The Best] years after that, as did Carli Lloyd, and I know I still have more to give.
“I’m really excited about where I’m going in my career, where my national team is going and where my club is going. I feel I’m only just starting to play my best football, and doing it at a consistent level. Hopefully people believe I have more to give – because I definitely do.”
Raising her sky-high standards yet further would, given Kerr’s second-place ranking in The Best, all but assure her of edging up that particular podium. But even for a born winner who has become accustomed to finishing first, this was one runner-up prize in which she was able to take genuine pride.
“Some might have seen it as a loss,” she said, “but I felt really honoured to be voted second best in the world, and proud of how far I’ve come in my career. I don’t play for those type of awards – I play for my team and I play to win trophies. But it’s nice to be recognised and I’m not afraid to admit that I was really proud. I also think Alexia [Putellas] thoroughly deserved it, so there’s definitely no shame in coming second to her.”
Barcelona’s brilliant playmaker wasn’t the only award-winner for whom Kerr had nothing but praise. She also identified the winning blend that has enabled the empathetic but fiercely demanding Emma Hayes – her Chelsea manager and The Best FIFA Women’s Coach – to take her game to another level.
She said: “Emma’s an amazing coach but also an amazing person – someone who takes care of us on and off the pitch. She cares a lot about us as people, which I think allows us to perform to our best. She’s tough though, and definitely gets after you if you’re not doing what you should be doing!
“But part of the reason for joining Chelsea was that I knew Emma would challenge me, the club would challenge me, the league would challenge me, and it’s only bettered my game. I’ve had to adapt and I’ve definitely got stronger for it.”
There have been disappointments along the way too, such as Chelsea’s humbling UEFA Champions League final loss to Barcelona and Australia’s shock quarter-final defeat to Korea Republic at the recent AFC Women’s Asian Cup. But even that early exit couldn’t prevent Kerr finishing as the tournament’s top markswoman, and she also left India as her country’s highest scorer of either gender, having surpassed Tim Cahill’s erstwhile record of 50 international goals.
“Me and Timmy have a lot of mutual respect,” said Kerr, reflecting on that latest record. “He’s an idol of mine, so to break his record – and even be in the same sentence as him – I have to pinch myself. But although I enjoyed getting to that record, I’m actually glad it’s done now so I can finally stop talking about it!”
If there is one subject Kerr will never tire of, it’s next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup. If anything, in fact, her excitement grows with every passing milestone and the steady ticking off of the days until 20 July 2023.
“I’m so proud that Australia is in a position where we’re able to host a World Cup,” she said, beaming. “We deserve it and I think we’re going to show to the world what an amazing country we have, and what a sporting country we have. “I’m just so excited. I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like and now, just over a year out, the buzz is already starting. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Australia.”
There is also a firm conviction that, on and off the field, impressive new standards will be set in this historic 32-team showpiece.
“Every World Cup improves [on the one before] in the quality on the pitch, the advertising and marketing off the field and in the profile of the players,” she said. “When I went to my first World Cup, I had to explain to people what we were doing there. Now everyone’s excited for it, the girls are getting more and more recognized, and it’s becoming a very important part of the calendar.
“2023 is going to be amazing. I think it’s going to be the best World Cup, not just because Australia is hosting it, but because the quality in women’s football has improved dramatically in the last four years.”
The trajectory of the competition, and of the women’s game as a whole, merely reflects that of Kerr herself. As she continues to rise, setting new benchmarks and smashing existing records, who would dare bet against this Aussie icon moving ‘Beyond Greatness’ when her nation welcomes the world?

Swordswoman Showdown Round 2 Part 1
Alanna of Trebond (The Lioness Quartet) vs Saber Artoria (Fate Franchise)
(Better here in a "preferred character" sense, not "who would win in a fight")
Propaganda below cut
According to the author, if Alanna had the words for it, she would be gender fluid
disguised herself as a boy entirely to learn swords and become a knight, becomes the first lady knight in her country in centuries; Alanna is so iconic that decades of queer fans have seen themselves in her and any author signing is accompanied by a mob of sobbing millennials over how much finally meeting and thanking the author for writing Alanna meant to them
Artoria
She is quite literally king arthur but girl, She has an entire novel dedicated just to her journey to being king and its awsome
absolutely one of the swordswomen of all time. (this is spoilers, but the franchise is so huge a lot of people probably know it already?) she's literally king arthur, and when she gets summoned as Shirou's partner in the Holy Grail War, dealing with all his preconceptions about how she should be "because she's a girl" causes her no end of frustration. master swordswoman, wields the holy sword excalibur and is one of the strongest swordswomen in the fate universe.
She’s King Arthur, my dude, she has THE SWORD. Also people call her Saber, Excalibur, your honour
She is skilled in sword fighting, she wields the sacred sword Excalibur

Leave Her Alone
This is Part 4 of 10
#10: Leave him/her/them alone @zambie-trashart Prompt List
Part 1 *** Part 2 *** Part 3
SuperSons x Miracilous
~~~~~~~~~~
Two summers have come and past and she could genuinely say she considered Damian a friend. The last time they were together he called her a minor inconvenience, so she'll take that as a win.
She however wasn't expecting to he back in Gotham so soon. She along with seven others were chosen to represent D’Argencourt School of Fencing in an international competition. With challengers from eight total countries. Seeing as it was during the fall recess her parents allowed it, so long as she stayed with the rest of the fencing team and chaperones. They also knew that her Uncle wasn’t far and she had friends in Gotham, that and Ma and Pa invited her for thanksgiving. Having gained a sort of sixth sense when she would be in the states.
So here she is on a flight she makes usually once sometimes twice a year but now she knows her uncle and cousin weren’t waiting for her. She wasn’t going to metropolis she was going to Gotham. Maybe she should have text Wayne, if he refuses to call her Marinette, she refuses to call him Damian, call her petty. But she didn’t even know if he was free or even competing, so she hadn’t bothered.
What was a surprise was that Adrien, their best male fencer, was allowed to come, apparently his father was super strict, only letting him do specific activities. They had chatted a bit on the bus and then on the plane.
“Who would have thought that seeing eight kids walk into an airport with fencing foils would have caused so much commotion.”
“That would be the no weapons laws in place,” she answered not looking up from her reading. “No cutting or thrusting weapons are allowed on the plane and have to be properly secured.”
“That’s why they were put in that case M. D’Argencourt had?”
“Yes.” She stopped the flight attendant who was passing, and luckily it was one that she recognized. “Hello Miss Catalina.”
“Oh, if it isn’t little Mariposa. Wake you up for breakfast?”
“Yes please.” She smiled. “Thank you.”
“Mariposa?” Adrien asked after she walked away.
“Butterfly. Float like a butterfly sting like a bee. Right.”
“That defines your fighting style.”
“Now unless you’re a fan of jet lag, good night.” She fell asleep and ended up waking him up after Catalina woke her. They ate and had a bit of small talk until they landed and made their way to their hotel.
Okay Gotham isn’t the nicest place to ever go but they were in the nicer part of the city. They got settled then went to train for the upcoming three-day tournament. During the first day everyone only had one match but with four matches going on, two for each gender and one for each bracket, it was busy and quite a show. Mari was lucky enough to be one of the first to compete, so she spent the rest of the day watching the other competitors. The third match she noticed something eerily familiar from one of the male competitors.
“Figures you’d be here Wayne.” She snuck up behind him, making him turn.
“Surprised you would come at all.” He lighted his helmet. “Does Kent know you are here?”
“Probably by now he would have.” She shrugged. “Go change,” she shooed, “that way we can over critique everyone else.” He rolled his eyes while his teammates stared at her. “What’s your deal.” She rose a brow.
“Nothing!” Several of them shouted and scattered. If Damian Wayne listened to this girl, and they didn’t know who she was, she must be scary, because Damian is, and he doesn’t listen to just anyone.
“Should I be grateful that you managed to get rid of those leeches?”
“Seriously, manners Wayne, those were your teammates.”
“So?”
“Never mind I am not going to get anything through that thick skull of yours.”
“My skull is thicker than most but that nearly means it is more efficient for head butts.”
“Definitely not what I meant.”
“Then what did you mean Dupain?”
“It’s not important just that I can’t change your mind.” He was about to shoot back but she literally put a finger up to silence him. “Did you see that.” He looked towards where she was looking.
A female fighter, in all red, part of block D mercilessly attacked her opponent. In under fifteen seconds she scored each time, quickly accumulating her points.
“They are from the Tsurugi school in Japan, based off the uniform.”
“Figure that on your own Batman.” She rolled her eyes. “But I meant her form it was…”
“Exceptional for a competitor at this level.”
“Must you always be so condescending Wayne.”
“Mariiii,” they both heard a familiar voice drawing their attention away from the red fencer. If they hadn’t, they would have noticed that the same fencer was focused on them.
“Jon/Kent.” A body slammed into them, bu quickly pulled her in a hug spinning her in a circle.
“You should have told us you were competing here. I knew Damian was but you that’s surprising.”
“Come on it’s not that surprising.” They moved away from the crowd, making their way to the entrance hall.
“So, I heard there is going to be a demonstration match after all the preliminary matches are done.”
“How do you know this?” Wayne asked. At the question her cousin claimed up and would not meet their eyes. If both she and Wayne muttered ‘of course’ they figured the answer.
“So, what’s it supposed to be about?” She decided to ask.
“I don’t know I saw you and tuned that other conversation out.” She quite frankly face palmed while Wayne tsked at him. “What you only come once or twice a year and Damian was hogging you.” He whined.
“I was not hogging her, in fact…”
“We didn’t even know the other was competing. It was just a chance that I saw him and then we started judging the others.”
“You are ruining her!” Jon began to pout.
“Oh, quiet you, I want to scope out more of my competition.” She pulled her cousin while Damian walked slightly behind them. That was how they spent the rest of their time watching all matches. When all bouts were over, they split and went to their respective team.
“Now, I would like to begin with a round of applause for all competitors and especially for those moving on.” A judge took the stage. “Now as a demonstration match, every school has given two names which were placed into this lottery. The two called will hold a match, no matter the gender or their block. It will not affect their placement in this competition. Now let’s see.” He reached in and pulled two slips of paper. “Mr. Damian Wayne of Gotham and Miss Marinette Dupain-Cheng of Paris will be our competitors. If you are not yet dressed, please suit up.”
Soon after they faced each other.
Usually her fencing was quick, her foot work light, but against Wayne she knew she had to change tactics. She foot work still light but was grounded, she used more power than she normally would to be in the defensive letting him fall confident. But she alternated between her styles leaving him guess. The score was 7-7 the next touch wins, unknowingly this was one of two inter sex pairs to fight it out. Both of them were panting, neither ready to give up and neither willing to accept defeat. Mari knew that if she was to win against Wayne, she had to be sneaky. Halfway through her lunge she switched forms quickly thinking on her feet, becoming light, quick movements to heavier steps with quick jabs and even stronger swings with light steps. Being creative and spontaneous in her movements.
“Winner, Miss Dupain-Cheng.” A voice announced. Both of them stepped to the center of the mat and shook hands, then lifted their masks.
“You won.” He seemed slightly miffed.
“Oh, don’t look that surprised Wayne.” They walked off and she lightly bumped him. They both left for the day afterwards. She didn’t even pay attention to the whispers around her, ate and went to her room to sleep.
The next day was uneventful, they both had two bouts winning theirs, respectively. Unfortunately, they both had matches when they other was off. Jon would scramble between the blocks to cheer for each of them.
The last day they were given a reprieve before the finals. So, she was meditating along with Wayne, while Jon talked about something or another.
“Marinette!” She heard a cry coming towards her. She opened her eyes and there was was Adrien. “Iv3 been trying to find you all morning. I’m up against that guy you fought on the…” he went quiet probably finally noticing one of the two next to her. “You aren’t going to give me any hints, are you?”
“Just like I’m not giving him any on you.” Adrien looked like he was going to beg, and Wayne quirked a brow. “Thank goodness my match is before yours. Look I think of both of you as friends and I will not sell one out to the other.” She stood up. “Now if you’ll excuse me.” She went off to get ready for her match.
She was up against the same red fencer that she watched with Wayne. Kagami Tsurugi, competitor from Japan, they saluted one another and got in formation. They fought hard and she fought quick striking opportunely, but this girl fought like Wayne. Marinette knew that everyone was talking about the exhibition match, so she knows this girl saw it too. So, she decided to match her strength list of the time. The match was long, but Mari managed to hold a lead before again fighting on instinct, earning the win.
“That was a great match!” She extended her hand.
“I demand to see my opponents face.” Kagami ordered.
“Only if you show me yours.” Mari took off her helmet, but most had figured already. Kagami also removed her helmet.
“It was not good enough.” They shook Kagami turned on her heel and walked away.
“That was…” she saw Adrien come up next to her. “Amazing!!!”
“Okay, okay.” She giggled from under him. “Now go get ready.”
“Yes madam.” He rushed off. But as he did, she saw her opponent and a woman, and she was being scolded. Sure it wasn’t the nicest thing to snoop, but this one time shouldn’t hurt, right?
“Now what made you lose?” The woman asked.
“My opponent was unpredictable and her steps and swings contradicted one another.”
“That much was notable, but that does not answer the question, what made you lose?”
“I lost because I was unworthy of the blade in my hands.”
The woman was going to say something but she could not hold her tongue any longer. “First off leave her alone, second the reason she lost was not due to any technical or observable trait.”
“What are you doing, child?”
“I’m sticking up for the best female fencer here. The only reason I got the touch first was because I wasn’t thinking I was reading my opponent, until she couldn’t read me. I changed my forms so often during the match that if their was no impartial judge I would have lost.”
“What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that Tsurugi is the best technical fighter I have ever fought. That I would have certainly lost if I wasn’t spontaneous. That if I wasn’t so good at reading others, Tsurugi would have won.”
“What is your school, if I may ask?”
“The D’Argencourt School of Fencing in Paris, France, Madame.”
“Interesting, well we hope to see such a formidable opponent again.” The two turned and Kagami sent her a small wave before turning around.
“Why do I feel like I’m forgetting something… the match!”
“The Winner Mr. Damian Wayne.” The two shook hands and walked off.
She would have followed had she not spotted one of her favorite people in the states. “Dicky!” She jumped and he caught her on his back.
“Hey Mari, we saw your match earlier good job.”
“Thanks.” She then noticed Barbara, Alfred, and Bruce. She gave them all a nod and a smile.
“We would have talked to you sooner if we had known and if you and Damian didn’t disappear.”
“We would not have disappeared had you not have been so grating.” Wayne returned.
She shimmied off of Dick and stood next to him. “They aren’t too bad.” She stuck out her tongue.
“Yes, just as you are not a dolt for having missed the match.”
“How did?”
“Like I said a dolt.” He poked the center of her forehead.
“Oh har dry hard har Mr. ‘what did you say to my opponent about me’.” She bumped him slightly. “So where I’d Jon go?”
“Your Uncle Kent called him, he had to leave.” Bruce answered. “If you are worried on who is taking you we offered.”
“Okay. Let me just tell my coach about the change.” She rushed off to talk with M. D’Argencourt, because she was not about to miss thanksgiving with her Ma and Pa Kent.
