literally had a dream about two of the pointers lmao so i thought I have to do this!!

1.Sun in 8th house people, are extreme. Either they would be extremely motivated or they won't care at all. My brother has this placement and guess he is in wont care his at all era lmao

2.Often seen when someone's sun falls in your 8th house, you might have an unexplainable attraction to the person, and unexplainable feelings about them, sometimes often wanting to over give to them without explanations. However, in any form of relationship, you both end up transforming each other, and in some cases things end in extreme forms between both of you, like for example in an extremely emotionally charged situations, huge conflict of feelings and ending up hurting each other etc. I don't recommend this one tbh lmao. This in just my personal opinion never ends well for so many reasons that it deserves a single post lol

3.Your 4th house can show your relationship to your past. Sagittarius Sirene people appeal to others when they're fulfilling their purpose or having a clear direction in their lives. how to use 〜じゃん／じゃない "isn't it?"

if you've been listening to people speak japanese casually, you've probably heard these conversational sentence-final particles! here i'll go over the difference between the two and then give their usages and example sentences. 行こう！

wait, doesn't じゃない just mean "not"?

you would be right about that! but as with lots of things in spoken language, intonation is key here. compare these two sentences in english:

it isn't pretty. (falling intonation)

isn't it pretty? (rising intonation)

clearly, these two sentences mean different things. they use different intonation, but even more obviously, the words come in different orders—in european languages, that's one of the easiest ways to tell a statement from a question. but as we know, in japanese, questions are made without moving words around; so, intonation alone with have to do the job! now, compare these two:

きれいじゃない。 (falling intonation) = it isn't pretty.

きれいじゃない？ (rising intonation) = isn't it pretty? / it's pretty, don't you think?

thanks to the rising intonation in the second sentence, instead of negation, we get a tag question. so if you're reading instead of listening, watch out for situations where you might have to guess or intuit what the intonation of the sentence is!

the difference between 〜じゃん and 〜じゃない

in terms of their conversational meaning or usage, these two particles are the same. however, in terms of "indexing" and social cues, じゃん is a bit more casual and じゃない can have a feminine tone. compare these sentences:

きれいじゃん？ (casual)

きれいじゃない？ (casual, feminine)

きれいじゃないですか？ (a bit more polite)

these sentences all feel very conversational, but depending on how you want to present yourself you might pick one over the others.

also, it's worth noting that じゃん only has the conversational usage: no matter the intonation, it can't mean "not" in regular statements (as far as i've seen, anyway!).

what's the difference between 〜じゃん／じゃない and 〜ね?

both these sentence-final particles ask for agreement or confirmation, as in these two sentences:

きれいじゃん？

きれいだね。

both of these could be translated as "isn't it pretty?" or similar. however, the tag question denoted by 〜じゃん is stronger than the tag question denoted by 〜ね. in other words, ending with じゃん is more like an actual question than ending with ね.

for example, if you said きれいじゃん？, you might be expecting your conversation partner to have had some expectation subverted. maybe you're looking at modern art, and they had initially expressed a disinterest in modern art; saying きれいじゃん？ leaves more room for them to change their opinion or even to disagree with you.

on the other hand, きれいだね is tantamount to a gentle statement, like you already know your conversation partner will agree with you. you might say きれいだね while overlooking a 絶景 (ぜっけい = superb view) such as 富士山 (ふじさん = mt. fuji) or 琵琶湖 (びわこ = lake biwa). after all, who could ever not find those きれい!

addendum: 〜じゃん with falling intonation

i watch someone on youtube who makes lots of designs in animal crossing, and when she is satisfied with a layout she often says 「いいじゃん！」, meaning "isn't that great!" or similar. but why is she using じゃん if she isn't actually asking for confirmation?

this seems to be an instance of a rhetorical tag question. in particular, the intonation of her いいじゃんs is falling, so it doesn't sound like a question. instead, she's making an exclamation out of a question. this is similar to what we might do in english with an exclamation like "isn't that great!", where we might pitch the sentence as a statement instead of a question. (and, to be totally clear, this person also says 「いいんじゃない？」 a lot too!)

例文 (れいぶん = example sentences)

高（たか）すぎじゃない？ = don't you think that's a bit expensive? この辺（へん）は神社（じんじゃ）が多い（おおい）じゃない？ = aren't there a lot of shrines around here? 疲れて（つかれて）いるんじゃない？ = aren't you tired? (don't you just want to go apeshit?) 全然（ぜんぜん）辛く（からく）ないじゃん？ = it's not spicy at all, right? やればできるじゃん！ = you can do it if you try! だから言った（いった）じゃん！ = it's like i already told you!

A Guide To Keeping Wyll And Karlach After Siding With Minthara In Act 1

Or as I like to call it, how to permanently recruit Karlach and Wyll (because I have yet to complete a full playthrough with both of them)

Ever since Larian added a way to legitimately recruit Minthara by knocking her out, I've wanted to help the community be more successful in their efforts to give my favorite drow yet another concussion. Because like all things related to Minthara, the KO method was buggy as hell, non-intuitive, and metagamey as fuck. I wrote multiple guides on it, to the point where I made the master post my pinned for a while. You may have seen it at some point, but here it is again for reference [x]

As happy as I am with the success of those posts, it's time I revealed my true alignment. I'm actually one of those scary Minthara stans who has killed the grove more times than siding with the tieflings. I know, you'd never guess by looking at my blog (don't look at my blog) I did it my first playthrough and it's only gotten easier since. And while I stand by it as the single best way to experience Minthara's character and story arc, I'm not so cold-hearted as to deny that it's a shame we miss out on Wyll and Karlach in the process.

So rather than play the villain, what say we have them stick around by taking on the REAL villains of Act 1:

The Druids

To start off, you'll want both Wyll and Karlach in your party, and Withers in camp. I've had him show up upon crossing one of the bridges in Act 1, either to the blighted village or the goblin camp, I forget which, or you can bust him out of his Dank™ crypt. Proceed through Act 1 as normal. To be safe I got as much approval from them as I could in early game, but that may not be necessary. Offer to kill Kagha for Zevlor.

Now, both of them need to die, and preferably not by the hand of your party members. I had them suicide charge the gnolls and get wrecked, as on Tactician mode they'll attack downed party members until they're dead. I don't know if having them jump off a cliff works, but it might. We need to entrust them to Withers by asking him to look after their bodies instead of reviving them. Their bodies will then appear in camp by their tents.

Now go kill Kagha without revealing the shadow druid conspiracy. This should trigger the Druids to start fighting the Tieflings, which will happen off screen as you deal with Kagha and the few druids inside with her (killing Nettie earlier might make this easier in case she joins in. She tried to poison you, so serves her right.)

Steal that idol! I'm not 100% sure this is required, but it takes no effort at this point and you need to sit tight for a minute, so might as well.

Also if you thought you could return the idol to Mol, no luck, she won't accept it until the fighting ends. Unfortunately all the tieflings need to die for this to work, so rip Ring of Protection. But not exactly rip the tiefling kids, more on that in a minute.

OOF, rip Dammon (and most of Karlach's questline. Don't look at me like that, it's Larian's fault for tying her entire story onto one npc and giving nothing as an alternative)

I'll give the tieflings credit, they did not go down without one hells of a fight. This bear was found burnt to death, probably due to Zevlor.

Damn, they really killed all of them. I wanna point out this can happen even on a good playthrough with the best of intentions.

In the end, only four(!) druids survived. I don't know how they'd fare with Kagha fighting too, but overall I'd say the druids talk big for doing this badly against a bunch of unarmed civilians. We kill the last four of them, then get ready to move on.

With trepidation, I go to check on the kids. Not recommended if you raid the grove for real, but here:

It's just... empty. No bodies, no npcs hanging around, they completely cleared out.

I like to headcanon that Mol followed through on protecting her kids, and they escaped down this hole. I'm still very early in this run used for testing, so I have legit no idea if they show up later. But this is good enough for me to include them all in my fanfiction so :D Congrats, the only tieflings with rights (sorry Karlach!) are gonna be alright (because if we don't see a body it doesn't count)

Next step is to just... keep going. Sazza can get you into the goblin camp no problem, and if you play a Drow or have Shadowheart use disguise self, you can gain entry without any checks or dialogue. My half elf needed to talk her way in (or just use AUTHORITY)

Lookit how happy she is after Sazza has brought her the grove's location! A lead on the weapon AND another True Soul AND she's concussion-free? Everything's coming up Minthy!

It's at this point things get a little weird (I did warn ya), as the game now has flagged the grove as "raided" even though we haven't done an actual grove battle, which is a different thing (as I'll demonstrate later), so Shadowheart has her "post-raid" dialogue when we wake up on the next long rest. The Raid The Grove quest is also marked as Completed, but still has a marker on the map. Have patience, return to the grove and walk through the (destroyed) gate, and suddenly:

The quest will update, and direct you to speak with Minthara in the secluded chamber where she normally is at when the raid is finished. There's also goblins milling about the grove now, same as the post-raid grove.

Get someone who looks at you the way Minthara looks at a cave full of dead druids and tieflings.

"No Minthara, I never meant for any of this to happen. This was all my fault, I shouldn't have gotten involved, they're all dead because of me-"

"Nevermind I am no longer morally conflicted about all this."

The next morning, speak to Withers and ask to collect your dead party members. He will have you confirm payment for their resurrection.

And it works! Karlach and Wyll are back, they can rejoin the party, and their approval is Unchanged!

Since I was on a roll, I went ahead and checked a few other scenarios: what happens if we don't start a fight with the druids and just raid the grove directly, with Karlach and Wyll dead? Well you can revive them afterwards, but...

Dang, Wyll still leaves (he's still so nice about it though! Even wishes you well!)

Meanwhile Karlach: Feck off, cunt.

Well, she's not leaving, but she's never been this blunt or cold towards me before. I wonder how much-

Damn, -49?! That's literally one away from leaving permanently! She started at 50, which means Karlach looses 100 approval from raiding the grove, and being dead doesn't change that. I think the only reason she's at -49 instead of -50 is due to that +1 from reviving a party member. So, she's grateful for being brought back to life, but not happy about anything else. You know what, that's fair.

One last thing I tested (and no pics for it cause this post has reached its limit! But those extra pics of Sharp-Eye Sluck are important, so I'll just write this next part out) I wanted to see if it was even necessary to finish off the remaining druids after they killed all the tieflings. So I left the grove (manually, you have to journey quite a distance before it lets you fast travel, almost all the way to the first bridge) and headed to the goblin camp to start the raid as normal.

Like our first time, we arrive at an empty grove. Even the druids we left behind are gone, meaning you can safely headcanon this method as joining up with the goblins and Minthara to take revenge on the druids. The game still acts like you killed the tieflings though, down to Gale's threatening to leave.

But Karlach and Wyll still get brought back without a problem! You can even revive them DURING the goblin party and they'll act like nothing's happened!

Wyll And Karlach Recruited Alongside Raiding With Minthara: Success!

So Baldur's Gate 3 community! I now implore you to put down your Pommel Strikes, switch off that Non-Lethal toggle, and stop giving poor Minthara even more brain damage than the tadpole and the Absolute already gave her!

And when you reach Moonrise Towers to rescue her, for the love of Selûne, when the guards are torturing her in the prison, don't just swing on them. Agree to enter her mind first. You'll have a dicey roll to deal with, but trust me, it's SUPER worth it!

As for the whole process, well. Despite the clunky way quests update after you start the grove civil war, the resulting lack of direction and narrative inconsistencies in the dialogue post-goblin party, this still feels like a more immersive way to recruit Minthara on a run with both Karlach and Wyll still present, than the KO method, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Consider this: You've got a major twist in the Act 1 plot now, with the Druids turning on you and killing the tieflings you were trying to help, leaving your party dispirited and lacking direction, other than to continue their search for a cure, which leads them to meet the Absolutists, the goblins, and the drow commander leading them and looking for the druids' sanctuary. And in the midst of your grief and anger, you side with her, both to get close to the source of the infections (as the Dream Visitor suggests) but also to take your revenge out on the druids.

You can feel conflicted, regretful even, but the context has changed enough that I think even a good-aligned Tav with no qualms about methods can live with this result. It just takes a bit of filling in the gaps (do you simply point the goblin army at the druids and look away, or lead them yourself by Minthara's side? Either way works for the results)

The only real downside is, again, Karlach's story just sorta ends here, until the confrontation with Gortash. I personally think this is a problem with Larian's writing for her, and at this point fanfiction is about the only solution in sight. But if you don't mind her not getting the chance to touch others again, you really have nothing to lose here

Besides, were you really going to pay Dammon for that act 3 armor? Of course not, you steal it every run and don't pretend otherwise, "hero."

Some spoilers for Hades 2 early access regarding Chronos below the cut.

He did not look or sound at all like what I expected, but I now immediately understand why all of his adult children are Like That, as well as why they’d quickly drop their previous squabbles and band together to try to get rid of him when he tried to force himself back into their lives. I instantly recognized every single trick he tried to pull on Mel when he first met her to try to manipulate her or put her down to “put her in her place” from other people’s descriptions of their own shitty, appearance-obsessed control freak parents with untreated personality disorders. I think the more understated delivery really works for him, particularly with that underlying paternalistic edge of absolute certainty and treating his enemies like misbehaving children who need to be reminded who’s in charge, even if they’re grown-ass adults. I also feel absolutely terrible for Hades, given that dear ol’ dad is trying to reassert control over him by “taking away his toys” and trashing everything he’d worked so hard to build in order to force him back into his original position of childlike dependency. It’s been almost 20 years and he *really* hasn’t finished “renovations” and fixed up the throne room? He doesn’t give a shit about actually maintaining the realm, just punishing Hades for trying to emancipate himself and be an independent adult by asserting ownership over all of Hades’ stuff and forcing him to watch as Daddy Dearest destroys everything he loved. He pretends to be absolutely rational and objective, but he’s actually a pathetic, emotionally immature piece of shit who throws manipulative tantrums and breaks things to bully his own children into compliance, and I can’t believe Mel has to waste her life fighting this loser who’s got nothing better to do than bully his barely-adult granddaughter. Kudos to Supergiant for making one of the most skincrawling depictions of an abusive dad ever.

But, also, now it makes a bit more sense for Hecate to have raised Mel in isolation—it’s easier to blow off an abusive relative’s appeals to authority when they’re a complete stranger to you. However, it’s also interesting that her early meetings with Chronos are the first time polite, deferential Melinoë has just straight-up told an adult trying to pull rank to fuck off. But that might be because she’s got no memories of him or fondness for him, so there’s no sense of filial piety or family obligation that would otherwise make her blame or second-guess herself. She has a slightly harder time with her, uh, more assertive Olympian relatives who she has more of a personal connection to and are slightly more subtle and “nice” about trying to goad her in specific directions. However, I also think Mel meeting Artemis and Hermes first and them warning her in advance about how overbearing the rest of the family can be might’ve inoculated her somewhat, even if she’s more like her dad in that she lacks the more intuitive way with people Zagreus has and isn’t as certain how to use her own charisma as leverage.

Anyways, I hope Melinoë kicks her Peepaw’s ass, but, given the type of real-life personality he has, I’m not sure if that’s actually going to make him stop or change short of a White Diamond-level epiphany where he realizes what a piece of shit he’s been to his own children and willingly fucks off out of his grandkid’s life forever.

Hello again! It is me: your favorite shifting blogger Evie and today we are covering the 101 of manifestation (based on the law of assumption). I get plenty of dms and asks that go along the lines of „Evie can I manifest a car?“ or „Evie can I manifest a boyfriend?“ or „Evie can I manifest to become the next president of the United States“ et cetera, et cetera.

The answer will always be as clear as day: YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN. Wanna know why I know that? BECAUSE YOU CAN MANIFEST EVERYTHING EVER 🥳🥳🥳.

„but how do I do that?“

Well this answer is gonna take some time as it is not definitive.

A lot of people like affirming as a method. Others love to visualize. Some people meditate and others listen to subliminals. I tend to get creative, I have written my manifestations on toilet paper and flushed it before and it fucking worked. What I mean to say is that there is no DEFINITIVE way to manifest stuff. If Mary can affirm like crazy and have her desire by tomorrow, this might have not worked for Jennifer. Jennifer affirmed for 169 days straight and never received her desire (because subconsciously she never thought that affirming would work). But when Jennifer lit a candle, thought about her desire and blew it out like a birthday candle, she had her desire 15 minutes later, because she always had this intuition that this would feel more natural to her.

At the end of the day: try as many things as you can, as you will naturally realize what makes sense to you and what doesn’t. I did try affirming like crazy and I never got any desire ever that way. But for example listening to music and feeling every single word sung in my heart has gotten me WAAAYYY further. There is no real reason for that other than some things work for you and some things don‘t.

„but why?“

Well. You believe certain things to be true. You might believe that there is no real love out there and that manifests and now you are lonely and in raging heartbreak. You might believe that you are the most glowing and magnetic person on this planet and for some reason that has proven itself through people thriving in your presence and begging to be near you. Because guess what. You manifested it.

„but I never intentionally tried to manifest that every person I ever interact with breaks my heart in a soul crushing manner!“

Look. You manifest literally every single aspect of your life. ALWAYS. The whole point of manifestation as I am teaching you is to consciously control the way things manifest. But you have always, are always, and for ever will have been always the only creator of your reality. Your thoughts, your beliefs, your emotions and your desires manifest constantly. If you subconsciously believe that you are the most unlovable person on this planet guess how this will manifest into the physical realm? As every person you meet ever breaking your heart and declaring you as unlovable. And the key to everything is realizing that only you can decide what happens in your life. You are the source. The author of the book and the director of the movie. The painter of the artwork and the chef in the kitchen. Nothing you have ever witnessed has never not happened THROUGH you. You just didn’t realize it.

„So how do I consciously manipulate my reality?“

That’s when you step in your actual power. Listen, you control things. Everything. Nothing happens without you ordering it to happen first. You decide what is real and what is not. That’s a fact.

Now when you imagine your crush Johnny to text you, and you declare that to be the truth, a stone-hard fact and a thing that 100% is real and has happened, that energy will reflect itself in your reality.

You manifest by deciding what is real.

You manifest by declaring your truth.

You manifest by choosing your fate and sticking to that choice.

„What if I decide for Johnny to text me and Johnny never texted me?“

Oh but he did text you. In your imagination remember? And we, the only creator of our realities, decided that that is real. So Johnny texted you. What you mean to say is:

„Why don‘t I see a text from Johnny in my physical reality?“

There it is. The ONE error everybody does when getting into manifestation: looking for validation from the physical realm.

„Well obviously I am looking for my manifestation in the 3D world, that‘s what I am manifesting it for Eves!“

That is the moment where I educate you about ✨states✨

When you desire something, like let’s say a new phone, you are doing one thing in particular: you are recognizing the lack of the new phone in your life. (The state of desire/ the state of lack) When you visualize yourself getting a new phone, and you decide that is real now, you inevitably enter the state of being wish-fulfilled, the state of having it. Your job is to stay as loyal as possible to that state. Because your state manifests.

If we visualize the new phone, declare that as real and true, enter the state of wish-fulfillment, then look for confirmation we already disproved our state of being wish-fulfilled because if why are you looking for proof of your truth if you knew it was true? You know for a fact that 2 + 2 equals 4. you are not spending every day proving or disproving that fact, are you?

By searching for confirmation you will re-enter the state of being in lack, because you are actively recognizing and accepting the lack of that desire by looking wether you already have it or not. If you truly declared the imagination as real, why would you search in the 3D for it?

The 3D reality will always conform to the 4D reality anyway so just accept that you have it the minute you visualize it/affirm it/ and so on. And that’s why searching for something in the 3D is pointless. If the imagination comes first, if that is the reality where everything happens, if that is the place where everything stems from, why are you searching in the goddamn reflection for validation? Your imagination is the top validation you could ask for because it is TRUE. IT IS REAL. Your physical copy of that will always always always only portray what you have created in your mind in the first place! Why are you looking for Johnny’s text message in the reality that is bound to copy your imagination anyways? Why aren’t you more concerned with what you are visualizing and thinking about all day because these things WILL show up regardless? And if Johnnys Text Message didn‘t manifest YET then why are you believing that reality WHEN IT ALL CAME FROM YOU ANYWAY. YOU CREATE EVERYTHING BRO. If you can’t see it yet that doesn’t mean it would have never appeared, that just means you entered the state of lack again because you have been searching at a place that always comes second anyway. Do not believe what you see, believe what you decide to be real. YOU DECIDE. YOU YOU YOU AND ONLY YOU.

„So the trick is to recognize imagination as real?“

Correct.

„What happens when I accidentally recognize the lack of something in the 3D? Is my manifestation then lost?“

Nope. As long as you stay loyal to your state, you are not losing anything. If you happen to think „god I manifested that stupid text from Johnny two hours ago where is it?“ and then correct yourself with for example something along the lines of „ahhh wait I remember! The DID text me! Two hours ago in my real reality! Silly me!“ and that’s it! No need to overthink it. You decide what is real, so if you don‘t dwell in the fact that your physical reality doesn‘t show the picture you want to see, and you keep on re-entering your state of wish-fulfilled, and make it your dominant state, nothing is lost. It is only lost if you decide that it is. If you accept the physical copy as the truth and not the place where it all stems from, the place where your manifestation is already done anyways, then you lose it. But only because you decided to lose it.

„Okay so Evie I want to manifest that Johnny and I get married but he is currently married to another woman and has eleven kids with her. Can I manifest my desire anyway?“

First of all: you can manifest everything

Second of all: because circumstances never matter!

„But what if I want to manifest to get into Harvard even if they already sent me their rejection letter?“

Even then.

If you are the only creator of your reality, then you have been the one responsible for these circumstances in the first place anyways. If you can put yourself into your circumstances, you can remove yourself out of them just as well.

It is not your job to figure out how your subconscious goes about eliminating your circumstances, your job is to concentrate on what you want to declare as real. And then declare it as real. And stay in your state of wish-fulfilled. The rest will happen by itself. Trust. Me.

„So how long do you think my manifestation will take to appear in my physical reality?“

Depends. What do you think how long these things should take? Because that’s what it will boil down to. If you believe that every single one of your manifestations arrives within 2 minutes, then that’s your reality bro, that‘s what’s true. If you believe that a manifestation will always take up to a month until it happens well then that’s your truth. The only limit there is your belief.

It also does not matter wether you are trying to manifest climate change to stop or a cup of coffee. There are no „big manifestations“ or „small manifestations“. Manifestation is manifestation. But you THINK that Johnny texting you is such a huge deal that you MAKE it to something harder to get so you spend more time dwelling in lack so it takes more time to appear. If I told you that manifesting a dandelion on the sidewalk is the same thing as manifesting fucking Obama to kiss you, you wouldn’t believe me because you take things like probability into account. Which is totally irrelevant. The question is not „how probable would this have been to happen to me if I didn’t manifest it?“ in order to figure out wether something will manifest faster or easier. The better question for this would be „how much do I want this to happen?“. Because as soon as you decide something is real, it is. And then it copies into your physical world. Without a doubt. Which is exactly why you should never catch yourself get impatient or „wait“ on your desires to appear in the 3D. The trick is to know it will happen anyways. But everytime you check the 3D or wait for change to happen then you are re-entering state of desire/lack. That‘s when you are accepting that what the 3D is showing you, must be a fact, EVEN THOUGH YOU DECIDE WHAT IS REAL AND WHAT ISNT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

„so basically how do I manifest a scholarship for example?“

Okay let’s take a test run. I want to manifest a scholarship. So I pick my most favorite method of manifesting which is visualizing (for example). I lay down in my bed, close my eyes, take a few deep breaths and really set the scene as detailed as I can. I imagine myself opening my laptop, clicking on my E-Mail Icon and read through the E-Mail I received in which I got accepted into my dream scholarship. I freak out because I have been waiting for this moment for ever and I am so happy and I let myself feel every single emotion that is connected to my desire being fulfilled. I open my eyes and I am happy because I know that this moment just happened. I enter the state of wish-fulfilled and now I go about my day all proud and confident because I know that since I declared my acceptance into the scholarship as real, it happens anyway. I know it is real, which is why I don’t get all worried about it showing up in the 3D and I let go of all the worry and all the anxiety attached to the situation where I still desired that scholarship. Because I don‘t anymore. Because I have it. Because I decided that that is what is real, so now it is.

Two days have passed and I still have no E-Mail in my account and the old me pops up and thinks „where is that scholarship that we manifested“ I immediately recognize that some part of me seems to think we are lacking something. I correct my behavior and remind myself through re-imagining the scene of me getting accepted to the scholarship and reminding myself consciously „that’s right! I already have the acceptance to the scholarship! It‘s real, I remember!“ and let go of the negative feelings attached to the state of desire. I stay loyal to the state of wish-fulfilled and I do not seek validation from the outside, only from my imagination because I know, that only my imagination is real, only my imagination is to be trusted.

„This sounds like it takes a lot of practice“

It does. Some people get used to this way of thinking easier than others. Some believe their 4D sooner than others do. Some might never accept the 4D as real and never consciously manifest anything ever because they are too set on viewing the 3D as factual and set-in-stone. Others accept the Imagination as truth immediately and have 100k dollars in their bank by tomorrow because they adapted to this manifestation-type-of-thinking faster than you did maybe.

But that is normal. Forreal. Some take years perfecting this skill, and others try it once and then leave it.

But to be fair: if you are manifesting literally everything in your life anyways, wouldn‘t you rather be able to control it at least? Even if it takes you several days-weeks-months-years to finally get it right? Doesn‘t that make so much more sense?

Chase is married to his co-worker for just a few month. Y/n stays home from work because she wakes up feeling nauseous and throws up, chase wakes up when he hears y/n throwing up and he gets concerned.

Chase tells his wife to stay home from work which she does. When Chase is at the hospital and working he starts to think about his wife and about what can be wrong with her.

When Chase gets home after a long day at work he sees his wife asleep on the couch and the tv is on. Chase is looking at the tv when a commercial starts which is about a pregnancy test and that’s when he gets the idea that his wife might be pregnant.

Y/n wakes up when Chase have been sitting on the couch for a few minutes. They both go to sleep and chase doesn’t say a word about his guess, he is thinking about talking to his wife about it the next day.

Authors note: it was late when I wrote this, like really late. But I tried. I’m also sorry for my absence, I’ve been getting ready to move for school and working a lot more because of it. But I am still open for requests!

It wasn’t uncommon for you or Robert to wake up before the other. Even before you were married. It would typically result in sweet kisses to wake the other up, and then getting ready for the morning before going to the hospital for the day.

This morning, however, was different. You had barely woken up and been able to wake Robert when you felt a wave of nausea wash over you. You tried to repress it for a moment, but it bested you and you quickly through your blankets back and rushed down the hall and into the bathroom.

You weren’t aware of how loud your retching was until you heard Robert’s rushed footsteps and his worried tone as he repeated your name. You felt one large hand on your back and the other running through your hair, keeping it back but also trying to comfort you.

“Love,” he said softly after a moment. You had seemed to calm down and were just hesitantly leaning over the toilet bowl, one hand poised and ready to flush it. His brows furrowed, “Are you alright?”

You only groaned in response, reaching to flush the toilet before you brought the lid down, resting your forehead against it and allowing the coolness of the kid to course through you.

“I’m going to get you some water, will you be alright?” He refused to pull away until you hummed, gently nodding your head and moving to sit on the toilet.

You were slouched on the seat, a hand rubbing your queasy stomach, when Robert came back. He crouched in front of you, cupping your cheek and coaxing you to look up at him, “Drink some water.”

You nodded, grabbing the cup and taking a swig of water. You swished it around in your mouth for a moment as you pushed yourself to stand, spitting the water into the sink before you leaned against the bathroom counter and took an actual drink.

“You alright?” Your husband asked softly, reminding you that he was in the room. He approached you, his hands going to your hips. He squeezed them gently as you set the glass down, wrapping your arms behind his neck and resting your hand on his bare chest.

“I’ll get over it,” You muttered, basking in his warmth as he hummed, wrapping his arms around you completely before he lifted you on the counter. You let out a gasp, “Robert—“

“You’re staying here today,” he spoke, blue eyes locking with your eyes and hands resting on your thighs, “Take care of yourself…do a little packing.”

Packing, right. The new house.

“I can’t afford to call off of work,”

“Yes you can,” Robert gave you a stern look, though you could tell he was teasing. You only smiled and shook your head.

“What if I’m needed?” Working in Oncology, you never knew what could arise.

“Wilson will understand,” Robert reminded you, as Wilson was close to not only you, but Robert as well, “But Dr. Chase advises you stay at home today.”

“Don’t pull that with me,” you chuckled softly, reaching up and grabbing his chin. You were prepared to press a kiss to your husband’s lips, but then stopped, “I don’t wanna get you sick.”

He was silent, processing your words for a moment before he opted to kiss your forehead, “I’m going to go get dressed. You stay hydrated.”

Robert gently tapped your thighs and helped you off the counter. You returned to your room, where you changed out of your pajamas and into a pair of shorts and one of Robert’s sweaters. You noticed the shorts were a bit snug, but though nothing of it when you caught Robert changing. You silently admired his physic, and he turned to you while he buttoned his shirt.

“You’ll be fine without me today?” He asked, stepping toward your full-length mirror to make sure his buttons lined up. You took the opportunity to approach the closet, picking a tie to go with his shirt; a morning ritual.

“I’m a grown woman, hon,” You reminded him with a chuckle. You passed the tie in his direction and he accepted it, slinging it over his shoulder while he tucked his shirt into his jeans and then grabbed for a belt.

“You’re sick,” He countered.

“I’ve been sick before I married you, I’m certain I can handle it after,” You laughed and sat on the bed, letting him finish getting ready. He snatched his wedding band from his side of the bed and pressed a kiss to the top of your head.

“I’ll call Cuddy and Wilson. I’ll see you when I get home tonight, call me if you need anything,” his words were genuine, and sincere. You always knew you could count on him when it was needed, “I love you.”

“I love you,” a content smile crossed your face as you watched him walk out of the room, a few minutes later you heard the front door open and shut.

You waited a moment, and then crawled back up in the bed. Still feeling a little queasy, you knew it wouldn’t hurt to get some more sleep before you jumped to packing — not that you wanted to spend your day doing that either. You made a mental note of everything you could try to do while you were at home all day, and before you knew it: you fell back asleep.

Robert was use to the hassle that came with his job, but he was also preoccupied and worried when it came to you being home sick while he was at the hospital alone all day. Cuddy was entirely understanding, she was fond of you. And Wilson didn’t complain, he could fill in your appointments with himself and other doctors on his team.

The day was long. House was…well, House. They spent their day working with their patient, as well as listening to Foreman and House’s arguments. When they could finally close the case, he was glad to pack up and return home.

The apartment was mostly quiet. He could faintly hear the tv as he unlocked the front door. He pushed it open, then shut it and locked it. Robert kicked off his shoes, leaving them by the front door for the time being as he set his keys on the table by the door. The lights above the stove were on in the kitchen, but it was dark otherwise. There was a lamp on in the living room, one of your books (one of the few you still had lying around from packing) discarded beside it.

Robert walked toward the couch as quietly as possible, setting his case down behind the couch and draping his jacket over the arm chair as he smiled down at you. You were sprawled on the couch, the thick throw blanket over your body. He knew you were probably tired, and didn’t bother to wake you as he made his way back toward the kitchen to find something to eat.

He hadn’t expected you to cook anything; he had been working and you weren’t feeling well. So he made himself a sandwich, ate, and then returned to the living room, gently lifting your legs and sitting in the couch, then resting them in his lap. He had no issue sitting there until you woke up, you were a fairly light sleeper and typically woke up at certain times of night.

He watched the tv screen, seeing the commercials playing. But it was one in particular that caught his attention: one for a pregnancy test. He watched the commercial for a moment, then turned his gaze to fall on you. In all fairness, this hadn’t been the first time you’d gotten sick in the past few weeks. It hadn’t been consistent until recently, and that is when he had certainly picked up on it. It got him thinking, but thankfully you started waking up so he couldn’t get too caught up in his thoughts.

Your eyes settled on him, lighting up as you shifted around on the couch to rest your body against his own. Robert’s arm wrapped around you, squeezing gently as he kissed the top of your head.

“Feeling any better?” He asked softly, rubbing your arm.

You hummed, “Got sick a few more times, but I did get more things in our bedroom packed.”

“Lose, win situation I suppose,” he said softly, gaze shifting back toward the tv before he sighed, “let’s get you in bed. It’s comfier.”

“You’re not wrong,” You chuckled and sat straight, stretching your arms above you while Robert stood and shut the tv off. He folded the blanket, throwing it over the back of the couch before he grabbed his jacket held a hand toward you, helping you to your feet. You shut off the lamp, simply relying on the dim light from the kitchen to make your way back to your shared room.

He grabbed his case from behind the couch, but then followed after you. You were already taking off the sweater you’d been wearing when he walked in, changing it out for a tanktop before you climbed under the covers. Boxes were stacked in the corner in front of the closet, and he could see your handwriting scrawled on them.

Robert changed in silence, but could feel your eyes on him. When he turned to face you, pulling on his pajama pants, your brows furrowed, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” he said softly, smiling at you as he walked toward the bed, “Let’s get some sleep. Maybe you’ll feel better in the morning.”

“Maybe,” You shrugged, letting Robert shut the lights off before he joined you in bed. The two of you laid close to one another, and he couldn’t help but rest a hand on your stomach, his mind wandering back toward the commercial.

Could it be possible? If so, he was grateful that the two of you had gotten a new house. A few months of marriage could certainly bring something like this on, but you and Robert hadn’t discussed it yet. The idea of it almost scared him…his own father wasn’t that great, and it left him wondering if he’d be the same.

“You’re overthinking,” You suddenly spoke, he hadn’t realized you were awake, “Get some sleep.”

So sleep he did.

Morning came faster than he wanted, and Robert felt relief knowing that you were still sleeping when he peeled his eyes open. He silently admired you for a moment, but then remembered everything from the previous day. Robert pushed himself up in bed, pressing a kiss against your temple before he found a piece of paper and scribbled a note.

He changed into jeans and a t-shirt, walking out of your room and leaving the apartment. The pharmacy was only a few minutes away, and should be open. He pulled into the parking lot and walked inside. Robert knew the general idea of what he was looking for, and grabbed a few different ones before checking out and returning home.

You were in the kitchen making some breakfast when the door opened, and you turned to greet Robert. He made a beeline toward you in the kitchen, setting a plastic bag in the counter and kissing you.

You hummed, pulling away, “What’s that?”

Robert glanced toward the bag you were pointing at, offering a weak shrug, “A possible reason as to why you’ve been sick.”

Your brows knit together and you walked toward the bag, pulling out three different kinds of pregnancy tests. Your jaw dropped, processing what was going on as you looked up at your husband. His hands were stuffed in the pockets of his jeans and he only offered another shrug.

“It wouldn’t hurt to know, would it?” He asked gently.

The heat of the day was oppressive.

It was only recently that Haruka had discovered that today was a special day.

Haruka was on her way to the Movie Research Circle clubroom.

— How do I take Yakumo out?

She had been thinking about it a lot before coming here, but she couldn’t come up with a good way.

She wasn’t too keen on it, but she might as well do what Gotou had told her to.

A determined Haruka opened the door to the Movie Research Circle clubroom.

“Listen, Yakumo-kun, this is bad!!”

Yakumo was sitting on a chair reading a paperback book.

He glanced up, but then yawned heavily and looked back at the book.

“Hey, are you listening?”

“I don't want to listen.”

“Why?”

“Because it’ll be trouble anyway.”

“What do you mean?”

She knew she couldn't win but she threw herself into it regardless.

“Exactly that.”

Yakumo scratched his head, his hair still dishevelled from sleep. 

“I don't like being involved in trouble either.”

“Isn’t collecting trouble your hobby?”

“No one has a hobby like that!”

“You collect trouble, yet it's not your hobby?”

What a way to talk!

She desperately suppressed her desire to shout.

If he gets in a bad mood at this point, all the preparations will be for naught.

Patience. Patience.

“Well, I want you to come with me. The situation's really bad!”

“That’s why I told you I don't want any trouble.”

His rejection was to be expected, so she had conveniently prepared her next line in advance.

“It's not like that…, no, it is, but ...”

“You're not being clear.”

Yakumo sharply lifted his left eyebrow.

It's a bit of a trick, and I feel uncomfortable about it, but I don't have a choice. 

“You see… Nao-chan is ...”

“What about Nao?”

Upon hearing that name, Yakumo's expression changed completely.

“She's possessed by a ghost...”

“What?”

“I don't really know what's going on either, but Isshin-san asked me to bring Yakumo-kun there.”

“Why didn't you tell me earlier!”

Yakumo stood up, thrusting his hands on the table with a thud. 

“That's why I told you it’s bad.”

Yakumo grimaced in frustration.

“So, where is Nao?”

“Gotou-san is waiting outside.”

Yakumo stopped moving.

I won't mention it, but I have a feeling that the question 'Why Gotou-san?' is going to come up any moment now.

We better get going before he starts asking unnecessary questions. 

“Let's hurry!”

“Please explain what this is all about.”

Yakumo addressed the issue as soon as he got into Gotou's car, which had been waiting for him in front of the university.

Haruka, who was sitting in the back seat, looked at Gotou in the driver's seat.

“I don't really have a clue either.”

Gotou said with a groan after starting the car.

“You don't have a clue?”

There was a note of irritation in Yakumo's voice.

“I just got a call from that priest Isshin, asking me to bring Yakumo there as soon as possible.”

“Is that all?”

“Yeah.”

“He should have contacted me directly ...”

Yakumo bit his lip and ruffled his hair.

Why didn't Isshin contact Yakumo directly?

Haruka knew the real reason.

But if he had known, Yakumo would have never sat up.

From that moment, no one opened their mouths.

The usual Yakumo would have immediately guessed that this conversation flow was rather unnatural, but his concerns for Nao had stifled that intuition.

Thinking about it, a sense of guilt swelled up inside Haruka.

When she looked out the window, it was already dark.

“Ghah!”

Gotou suddenly blurted out when the temple came into view.

Haruka had almost been lured into laughing too.

Yakumo looked at her as if he was looking at something repulsive.

“Sorry. It's nothing.”

Gotou hurriedly steeled his expression and parked the car in front of the temple gate.

Yakumo immediately got out of the car.

Haruka and Gotou followed him.

After passing through the gravel garden towards the priest quarters ahead of it, Yakumo opened the front door with great force.

The room was dim and silent.

“Is she not here?”

Yakumo muttered as he took off his shoes and walked into the living room.

Haruka and Gotou also followed Yakumo after looking at each other.

Like the entrance, this place was dark too —

Haruka closed the door at the same time as she entered.

This was another key step.

“Uncle! Nao!”

Yakumo raised his voice, his face changing colour.

“Listen, Yakumo-kun.”

Haruka asked towards Yakumo's back.

Yakumo looked back at her, a thin sheen of sweat on his forehead.

“Do you know what day it is today?”

“You, what are you talking about?”

“You know... today is...”

— A very special day.

“What is it?”

“It's Yakumo-kun's birthday.”

Haruka said and opened the door she had closed earlier.

There stood Isshin and Nao.

Nao was carefully holding a cake decorated with strawberries in her hands.

There were candles on top of the cake, with small flickering flames.

At that point, Yakumo seemed to have realised everything.

He looked down at his feet in embarrassment, ruffling his hair.

“Aahh.”

Nao said with a smile.

“Happy birthday.”

Isshin added.

“Haruka-chan insisted on celebrating your birthday at all costs.”

Gotou said, rubbing his ear.

Haruka had certainly been the one who started everything, but —

The one who had come up with such an elaborate plan had been Gotou.

Before protesting, Yakumo cast a dreadful glance.

With a look like that, it was impossible to say a word.

“Come on, blow out the candles or the cake will burn.”

Isshin stepped in front of Yakumo alongside Nao.

However, Yakumo remained motionless, a grimace on his face.

“What’s up? Are you angry?”

Gotou said jokingly.

Yakumo quickly put the index finger of his left hand on his eyebrow.

“That’s it, anger.”

His voice had regained its usual composure.

“You're a chicken-hearted bastard to get angry over something as trivial as this.”

Gotou folded his arms.

Yakumo slowly pointed his index finger, which he had placed between his eyebrows, out the window.

“I'm not the one who's angry.”

“What?”

“You guys called them forth in setting up your silly hidden camera comedy.”

“Called them forth?”

Haruka tilted her head in puzzlement.

Yakumo narrowed his eyes.

“Spirits of the dead filled with anger are looking at us from outside the window.”

In response to those words, everyone turned to look out the window.

The next moment, the candles were suddenly blown out.

The living room was enveloped in darkness —

“What happened!?”

Gotou was making an exaggerated ruckus.

Isshin and Nao were also nervous, wondering what was going on.

But Haruka hadn't missed it.

It was Yakumo who had blown out the candles.

He had been tricked by everyone, so he was probably getting back at them.

Following which, Yakumo could be seen with a slightly embarrassed smile —

regarding aang becoming offended bc of his portrayal as a woman in ember island players, i think his anger was justified on that specific occassion? I mean, the fire nation was mocking his gentle nature and pacifism by portraying him as a blithering naive idiot who never took things seriously and the belittling of his culture and beliefs. This is one of the worst episodes for him, dont get me wrong, but in this case, femininity was utilized as a source of derision and weakness imo. I dont say this with bad intentions, just thought i would write this bc i also condemned aang for the same thing before

If that was what Aang was upset about I might be inclined to agree, but everything he says and does throughout that episode points to the contrary. Aang doesn’t say anything about the incorrect portrayal of his culture and personal values. Here is what he does say:

[Note: the above expression is before the actress hardly says anything so he’s clearly just mad about the fact that she’s female]

Aang: [angrily] Is that a woman playing me?

Aang: I don't do that! That's not what I'm like! And I'm not a woman!

[Note: the official script includes the emphasis; again, it’s very obvious that he’s most bothered by being played by a woman]

Then this exchange:

Toph: I don't know, you are more in touch with your feminine side than most guys.

Aang: [Standing up, angrily] Argh!

Katara: Relax, Aang. They're not accurate portrayals. It's not like I'm a preachy crybaby who can't resist giving overemotional speeches about hope all the time. [Everyone looks at her] What?

Aang: [Turns around and sits down. Sarcastically.] Yeah, that's not you at all.

You know what I love about this conversation is that is proves two things at once. Firstly, yet again, it’s clear that being portrayed by a woman is what is most upsetting to Aang. Secondly, his reaction (and, honestly, insult) to Katara’s values here shows that he’s not thinking that deeply about this. It has nothing to do with values. Aang is offended at the idea that he is being portrayed by a woman and with more “feminine” qualities, which honestly plays well with his creepy, possessive behavior with Katara later this same episode.

And I actually do like the fact that you brought up femininity being used as “a source of derision and weakness” because guess what! That’s the definition of femininity itself. Femininity doesn’t mean simply being a woman; femininity is the social behaviors and roles that women are expected to fulfill. Which is why I don’t have any sympathy for a man who is offended by being called feminine or compared to a woman because it’s reflective of a deeply misogynistic attitude on his part. If Aang thinks femininity is so degrading and weak, what does that say about the fact he expects his crush to behave that way? I mean, this is what he thinks of Katara, through his own perspective:

So yeah, that’s my question. If being compared to a woman is so insulting and humiliating to Aang, what does that say about how he intuitively views actual women? Why does he think he’s above that treatment but women aren’t? People act like I’m crazy for saying that he exhibits toxic masculinity this episode but this only furthers that point.

Oh and before someone jumps in here and acts like this goes both ways, let me point you to this:

Toph’s reaction to finding out she’s being played by a big, buff, stereotypically-masculine man. She’s thrilled! Why? Because we are products of a misogynistic society and therefore intuitively view being compared to a man as a compliment and a woman as an insult. The respective roles assigned to each are not equal. Masculinity and femininity were never equal and the system was deliberately created that way. You can see this idea ingrained in the writing of this episode because it’s a bias we all hold to some degree, including the writing and creative team here.

So I’m sorry, but considering the bias clearly present within the writing team and the way the characters behave this episode, it’s clear to me that Aang’s reaction has nothing to do with his culture and everything to do with his misogyny.
