@ladiestown hmm... to me, obtaining the grand relics populates the same narrative spot as closing fountains (i.e. a macguffin obtained for completing a "chapter").

we still don't totally know what getting all recruits does in deltarune, except that it makes the game more fun and puts more people in your corner (which could be linked to having the world band together in the end to fight the Hunger... although, Johann and the voidfish did more for that than any real inclination towards pacifism on Tres Horny Boys' part, lol)

I honestly wasn't imagining the Grand Relics as even existing in this AU, but now that you bring them up, I'm thinking about what they'd turn into as darkners... haha uh oh!!

Probably vaguely a modern AU on the surface

Lup has disappeared, presumed dead, but it turns out some people are attempting to "resurrect" her by bringing her red umbrella to Dark Worlds in the hopes that it will become "her"

Can't decide which would be better - keep the memory shenanigans and have some characters meet Darkner!Lup without knowing who she is, or have characters remember she's gone and be actively trying to find/create her

The real world either has some calamity threatening it, or it's just miserable without Lup, so Lucretia has the misguided idea to make it a Dark World everywhere all the time. (the roaring? never heard of it)

If the Soul possession was part of things, I could see Lucretia also being the one to do that. Inviting in a potentially-terrible force & lying to some people so that you can complete your goals and save your loved ones? Yeah OK

I don't think any of Tres Horny Boys would be into the whole necromancy aspect of things. Taako would just discover Darkner!Lup at some point and it would go so so badly

Honestly they might be the prophecied guys tasked with closing all the Dark Fountains without really understanding what's going on, but they slowly start piecing stuff together

You KNOW what's up with the Titan. I guess John is the Knight or something idk idc. Or, actually, the real Lup could be the Knight, depending on what theories you subscribe to.

Meanwhile in the Light World, everybody's trying to make deadlines at their jobs and shit. Background tension building

in the end, of course, we've gotta stop Lucretia from inadvertently ending the world. and maybe we get back Lightner!Lup in the meantime.

concept for a TAZ AU (it’s technically sort of a crossover) (as a fun little game you can guess what it is and i’ll tell you at the end)

Stolen Century still happens, probably mostly the same. The canon divergence happens when we hit Faerûn.

Barry Bluejeans, under the power of the Voidfish, loses all knowledge of his history and context… but he retains his general smarts in science & magic.

Lup works for the Bureau of Balance. Under orders from Lucretia, she goes on secret missions to prevent Barry’s plans.

Barry is self-proclaimedly “evil”. He wants to destroy and/or take over the Moon. He doesn’t remember the real reason, so he makes up a new nonsense reason to hate it each week.

Tres Horny Boys are having their own wacky, highly improbable relic-getting adventures. These occasionally intersect with Barry and Lup’s fights.

To keep from being identified as Taako’s twin, Lup wears a disguise when she goes to fight Barry. Barry’s voidfish-scrambled brain literally cannot identify her without the disguise.

I GUESS Davenport is Lucretia’s unpaid intern

cannot stop thinking abt the throwaway fact from the nashville heist liveshow that lup actually initially worked with transmutation magic, in her words because she "hadnt realized how rad explosion magic can be". which like. what was pre pyromania lup even like. was she still committing arson just not with magic. was she not committing Any arson. who was she.

Blupjeans Week - Day 5/6: Haunted/Magic

Random percolating idea that I think would make a fun little fic but I don’t think I’ll ever get around to writing it

So like. It’s kind of ambiguous how the bodies for Barry and Lup work. How that body-regrower works. But due to Magnus having one of those bodies, and him dying of old age, those bodies presumably age and have to be replaced, even with their Reaper jobs? Because they had to grow a body for Lup. I think Kravitz has a whole different situation going on with his ability to switch between skeleton and flesh forms.

But assuming that they have to regrow themselves new bodies whenever the previous body dies, Barry probably has to replace bodies frequently, particularly from Lup’s POV.

And since the nature of these pods are ambiguous, I like to think that they could be tweaked in some way to let you spawn in as a different age. So, maybe there comes a time where Barry starts growing himself bodies of himself as a young man, in order to make them last a little longer and also just having a little less aches and pains and stuff for a bit lmao.

I’m a big fan of the fact that Barry is physically a middle aged man when he and Lup fall in love, but I just think this would be an interesting little thing to explore/write about; especially as to what Lup thinks about seeing him young for the first time
