He was a ghost and very obviously revealing himself to Luz, and I think he was trying to use his appearance to make her comfortable enough to talk to him, because! that obviously doesn't match how he looked in real life! for one he should have been about a thousand times taller!

but no, King's dad looked at this girl that loved his son and Decided he was going to have a dad bod and a Bad Girl's Coven t-shirt and pajama pants covered in glyphs! he even had a little Hooty coming out of his bad eye, and it was very clearly all a deliberate choice!

(Her bat form remind me of the Chiropterans from my fav anime next to Pokemon: Blood + 😭!!) Anyways her interactions with Eda were so fun !! Man I would have been so curious to see where she ended up at the end ! And her relationship to Obron. Speaking of which, sounds pretty ruthless! So it turns out the gems on their clothes originally did have a purpose (apart from showing Eda’s curse progressing). They can shock you! Reminds me of the shock collars in the original Zootopia storyboards.

I read from the pitch that Eda is offered to heal her curse (which appears to just cause her to age?) in return for giving them Luz. Apparently a human soul is required for whatever Obron wants to do. Curious that it is mentioned there are more stray humans than just Luz… but he still wants HER (and not William? Hmmm). ANYWAY yeah this… COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than what we got. 😭 Lilith being headmistress sounds so cool to me, but I do wonder if this version of her was also gonna get redemption considering she seems more cold.

do you ever just remember how one of the most effective things parvis said to get silence to lose faith in saria was essentially "do you really think she would ever choose YOU over everything?" and silence with her low self esteem really didn't believe saria would.

Then in the end saria really did choose them over everything, left her defense director job and her whole life up to that point behind for the sake of silence and ifrit. and silence still doesnt even know. do you ever think about that and lose your mind a little bit.

can you believe the owl house just gave us an older nonbinary person of color with greying hair and glasses and wrinkles around their eyes who was talented and kind and respected and was the head of a coven of bards despite their stage fright which made public performances and speeches terrible for them AND also they led a rebel group called the BATS. and later another one called the CATS. cause they're shit at names. and despite their awkwardness the main character still thought they were SO COOL when she read about their exploits and got really excited when she finally met them and this enby was treated as cool and clever and someone kids wanted to emulate. and they had a romantic arc with a main character and were loved so dearly by that character and so many others and showed nonbinary kids they also had a place in fantasy, in romance, in music, in fun, in the world. can you believe that.

i think it is especially hilarious that the fandom made such a big deal out of Darius' "only the small ones will get eaten" moment, considering:

how many times characters try to eat someone; not to mention many gags where the core characters are comicaly callous in inappropriate moments. And that Darius' line was framed similary as a comedic moment in canon!

genuinely never seen anything like hilda. its so unique with its limited color palette, character animation, shape language, lines, everything, not to mention the voice acting, characterization, world building etc etc. i could write multiple essays about how awesome this cartoon is and it wouldnt do it justice

Sometimes I like to think about how Vee is a traumatized shapeshifting monstrosity from another dimension who canonically graduated from Normal People School. Girl got a passing grade in being regular. Something normal to want and possible to achieve but not in a sarcastic way

It's a delicious kind of irony that a traumatized shapeshifting monstrosity (affectionate) from another dimension who was raised in a prison ended up fitting in better in the human realm than Luz. Like. H u h.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again! Vee was SO lucky she impersonated Luz because 1) if she did anything weird, everyone just dismissed it as being Luz, 2) she was immediately sent to "crash course in fitting in" camp, giving her all the tools she needed to act like an average human and 3) if anyone noticed her not acting like Luz, they could just chalk it up to the camp doing its job. Not to mention she got a kickass mom who wouldn't kick her out for being a snake person. Vee hit the impersonation jackpot.

But anyway, Vee being just the most average person alive, just such a normal girl is so fun. You go to the Noceda house and it's like "the weirdest girl you've ever met and her equally weird friends" "Super Nerd Camila Noceda who will clock you with a baseball bat" and then Vee whose hobby is Being A Normal Fellow Human. And then you look to the left, and her partner, who went to the same "be normal" camp, is a goth tarot-card-reading witch who works in a museum.
