Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader: Space Oddity, Part 1
Tumblr media
In my ongoing quest to write more self indulgent reader inserts, I present to you: Weird Reader.
Sorry guys, but in school I played with the girls who pretended to be Warrior Cats, and ate lunch with guys who unironically did the Naruto run. The only thing separating me from this reader in this story is the fact that I mask in public and unmask at home.
[Chapter Two]
***
“You want me to play D&D with you guys?”
You watched with suspicious eyes as Mike Wheeler and Dustin Henderson nodded frantically, stirring the sweet, syrupy dessert of fruit cocktail in your lunch tray compartment. Staring at you was like staring at a taxidermy raccoon: you were dead eyed, but still positioned as though you could jump out and give someone rabies.
If he had been asked at gunpoint, Mike would have admitted that you were a last resort choice.
“Yeah…” Mike said cautiously, trying not to stare directly into your eyes.
Dustin smiled, leaning forward.
“You like D&D, right?” He tried, hopeful.
Everyone they had asked in Hawkins High had so far said no to subbing in for Lucas Sinclair, and Mike had balked at the idea of even thinking of asking you when they got rejected for the fifth time. You were even worse than the freaks of Hawkins High. The collective student body had come together as one to declare that you were a weird, mean bitch.
“I like what I’ve heard of it…” you mumbled, “I never played it before…”
Dustin’s face lit up like a Christmas tree.
“Really?” He asked, his geometric pattern button up nearly dipping into his open can of chocolate pudding, “Never ever? So you’d need to be taught?”
Before you could venture an answer, Mike pulled him back.
“Could you-… Could you just excuse us please? Thank you.”
You nodded slowly while Mike dragged Dustin away to a corner of the bustling lunchroom. While they conversed in hushed whispers, you sat there alone, the students sharing your space giving you a wide berth at the head of the lunch table.
“Are you out of your fucking mind?!” Mike hissed at Dustin, “You’re going to ask The Bitch to play, and she’s never even played D&D before?!”
Mike knew the stories. Robin had once asked to borrow a pencil from your jubilee of pens you kept in the pocket of your shortalls. Reluctantly you agreed, and then you had a meltdown when she took the flat contractor’s pencil with the He-Man sticker on it. Steve had told any of The Party who would listen about his encounter: even Eleven could perfectly recite the story about the weird girl who had flat tired Steve in the hall every day at 9am when he walked by Mrs. Click’s class, ruining the backs of his brown suede moccasins so often that his mom stopped replacing them after a while. His description of the perp matched you exactly.
Even Mike on his first day of school had been subject to your oddities. A casual lunchtime stroll found him tripping over a trap, made of plastic milk crates and dead branches you’d constructed by the football field. The encounter ended with him being subjected to your twenty minute screaming lecture on why it was rude of him to wreck the “houses” you’d made for the skinks that darted around the concrete walkways.
Mike Wheeler hated you because of reputation, but Dustin knew better than to fall victim to heresy. He had seen the drawings of dragons, daleks, dinosaurs, wolves and mermaids on xerox paper you had left behind once in the lunchroom. When he found you to give them back (you didn’t say thank you), he’d been gifted with a drawing a day later in his locker: a very detailed Spock giving the Vulcan salute, “Live Long and Prosper” written underneath in bubble letters above your loopy cursive signature. He still kept it taped to his Geometry folder.
“Dude, yes! Chill out!” Dustin hissed back, looking at you fondly from a distance, “You remember what Eddie said? ‘Find the little lost sheepies that need us’. Look at her, man. Doesn’t that scream little lost sheep to you?”
They turned to look at you simultaneously. After looking both ways to check the coast was clear, you commandeered Dustin’s abandoned chocolate pudding. Spooning the syrupy peaches, pears, pineapple, and single half of maraschino cherry of your fruit cocktail inside, you mixed the chocolate and fruit together. Lathing up the leftover pudding with your tongue, the spoon was licked clean before you tossed it vaguely into an indignant girl’s creamed corn, but she was too afraid to yell at you while you were armed with chocolate.
With great relish you began eating your concoction with your fingers.
Mike grimaced while Dustin just laughed.
“She’s perfect.” Dustin gushed, “And you should see her drawings, they’re badass!”
“Just because she’s a gross weirdo who’s good at drawing doesn’t mean she knows jackshit about tabletop games!” Mike growled, nearly gagging when he saw you mop up the leftover pudding in the can with your bread roll, “You bring a beginner into Hellfire Club, Eddie’s gonna blow a goddamn gasket! He’s already on the warpath because of Lucas’ championship game tonight, can you imagine what he’ll do when we bring in The Bitch?!”
“Mike, relax. Eddie’s not going to know she’s a novice. Everyone still flips through the handbook, they won’t notice if she does it. We’ll give her a crash course, I’ll even let her borrow my Player’s Handbook so she can come in looking like she at least knows the basics. And if Eddie does get pissed we can just… ease him into the idea that a succulent babe wants to play with him.”
Dustin made the shape of a curved figure with his hands, while Mike looked ready to punch him in the groin.
“You think he’s going to fold for a fat girl?” Mike snarled.
“… Shut up Mike,” Dustin said, immediately protective of you, “He’s going to fold for a cute girl. Look at her! Soft arms, round face, thick thighs… Eddie’s gonna lose his goddamn mind, man! That’s like his ideal type.”
They continued to argue back and forth, finally coming to a grudging resolution when Dustin dragged Mike back by the shirt to your lunch table.
“If this goes to shit, I know where you live.” Mike hissed quietly.
“Shhhh!” Dustin slapped Mike’s arm before looking back at you with a dopey grin.
You were staring down both of them, eyes flicking from Dustin to Mike. The empty pudding cup can was sitting exactly where it had been once full before, but the pop top was gone, and you were pretending like you hadn’t just gone to town on an unholy concoction.
“I made a decision.” You said suddenly.
The two freshmen looked at one another, before leaning in closer. Mike looked skeptical, but Dustin’s grin was nearly splitting his face in half.
“I’ll play with you guys.” You said after a few seconds.
Dustin couldn’t help but fist pump into the air, nearly tipping over backwards on his chair while Mike just grimaced like he was about to puke. An imperfect smile with chocolate teeth flashed at the boys, and you were just about to speak when Mike stopped the party.
“Okay, listen… if you’re going to play, you’re going to have to put in the work, it’s not like playing Monopoly.” He said, staring you down, “This is serious shit.”
You closed your mouth, head tilting to the side.
“Oh… I thought it was like, making your own characters and pretending to be them and stuff.” You said.
“It is, but it’s a lot more nuanced than that. Our Advanced D&D campaigns are different. We play very combat heavy sessions, we use actual strategy in battle. It’s not a goddamn tea party.”
“And Eddie takes the rules very seriously…” Dustin chimed in, “So we’ll have to familiarize you with the basics.”
“Eddie!?”
Both boys jumped back as you banged your hands on the table, getting up close and nearly crawling on top over to them. The students sitting next to you collectively jumped, the metal legs of their chairs scraping and making a horrid screech against the linoleum flooring.
“You mean… you’re talking about Eddie The Freak, right?” You hissed under your breath.
“Eddie Munson.” Dustin corrected, frowning when you called him a freak, “He’s the dungeon master of our club… of Hellfire Club.”
Your eyes widened, and your chest began to rise and fall rapidly.
“You’re right though. That is the very same freak.” Mike cut in, lowering his pitch hoping that feeding into the negativity would scare you away, “He’s a dick to newcomers. You might get the boot if he finds out we brought you in without having any background knowledge of D&D.”
His words made you shrink back, looking at your lunch tray and the little mess of chocolate you’d unknowingly splattered on your clothes. Dustin could have killed Mike, while the latter just looked smug.
And then… you began to giggle.
“Okay…” you smiled.
“Okay?!” Mike and Dustin repeated.
Mike managed to speak up while Dustin was still picking his smiling jaw up off the floor.
“You’re sure you still want to play?” Mike asked, panicking as he pulled out all the stops to get you to quit, “Eddie is not a patient guy with new players, he’s going to rip you to pieces and sacrifice you to the devil!”
You nodded quickly, breathlessly hyperventilating.
“Yeah…! I… If Eddie Munson is running the game… I really wanna play.”
Dustin gave a high pitched giggle of his own and shook Mike’s shoulder, absolutely loving the way your face broke out into a goofy grin. You didn’t even flinch at Mike’s attempts to scare you.
“You got a thing for him or something?” Mike ventured cautiously.
“Yes.”
You answered so unabashedly, with no hesitation, that for a minute it actually endeared you to Mike. Who knew that The Bitch of Hawkins High was actually a human being with wants and needs?
“Wait… are you serious?” Mike asked.
“Uh huh…”
You giggled, biting your lower lip and covering your burning face.
“I think… I think he’s really hot…”
If they had been drinking Tab, they would have spit the liquid out all over you.
“You think Eddie’s hot?” Dustin wheezed.
“Yeah… um… I’ve had this like monster crush on Eddie since I was in fifth grade. He did like this talent show and played the guitar real good, and he’s all loud and funny and crazy and I think he’s got a real charming smile…”
The cadence in your already deep contralto was lilting into a mezzo soprano the more you talked about their sadistic dungeon master, and you were rocking side to side in your plastic chair while Dustin and Mike just watched you make a complete ass of yourself.
This probably would have turned into two hours of blabbing, had not Mike refocused you and Dustin and begun to actually lay out the basics of TSR’s Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. No time to lose, back to business. If you were going to play with Eddie you had a lot of catching up to do. They had a spare set of dice, and Mike helped you roll for stats as Dustin began to write out a crude character sheet for you based on your imaginative ideas.
“We can probably make you a character very quickly.” Mike said, flipping through his own Mead Composition notebook as he checked past characters that had died valiantly in battle, “I have one you can use. Barbarians are stupid easy for first timers since you’re just hitting shit with a sword-...”
“I want a character based on my story I’m writing!” You exclaimed, and then you subjected Mike to your brief (lie) synopsis of one of many witchy characters who was cursed by a dark goddess.
It took a lot of adjusting and words that held no meaning to you, like “Domain of Trickery” and “Cleric of Shar”. The two freshmen helped you settle on a character that would be deemed useful for Hellfire’s campaign, and made sure to force feed you every rule and spell that Gygax and Arneson had conceived for your chosen class. True to his word, Dustin let you borrow the Player’s Handbook he carried with him at all times when the bell to conclude lunch rang out. You took it with promises that you’d give it back when you met them outside of the drama room later after school, already burying your nose in the pages when you walked off to your class.
The boys saw a different side of you that possibly no one else in the school ever had: a familiar side, a human side. A side that was brutally honest and sometimes a little mean, but just as vulnerable and relatable as anyone else. A consensus had been reached during their shared English class: you were definitely weird, but actually pretty smart and imaginative. Possibilities of keeping you on as a permanent member were being discussed when Dustin and Mike found you hiding behind the lockers just outside the drama room around three pm.
“What are you doing?” Mike asked.
You shook your head, clutching your fat trapper keeper to your chest and handing Dustin back his Player’s Handbook.
“Eddie’s in there…” you muttered, chewing on the spine of your trapper keeper covered in duct tape
“Yeah, he usually gets there with Jeff, Gareth and Frank really early, to set up the map and the dice towers.” Mike nodded.
From the rectangular slat of a window, one could see Gareth and Frank meticulously setting up Jenga pieces and miniatures on top of a slab of butcher paper marked in sharpie, janky cindrilical tubes painted to look like castle towers were set up at each place at the table (the dice towers, fashioned from Pringles cans, cardboard, glue and paint). Eddie and Jeff were deep in conversation, plugging in lamps and electric candelabras left over from the drama club’s last production of ‘Pride and Prejudice’. Inside the mood was almost holy, reverent (or like Eddie liked to call it: a softcore porn on Valentine’s day mood), and the boys couldn’t help the eagerness as they went to the door.
You, however, stayed firmly planted behind the lockers.
“What are you doing?!” Mike hissed, “Come on! We’re gonna be late because of you!”
“I don’t wanna go in…!” You snapped back, suddenly shy.
Mike looked at Dustin, ready to destroy him, while Dustin tried to talk you down.
“Hey, hey! Come on, it’s okay. Don’t worry! You have a good character, and if you need help you can just sit with me and Mike-…”
“But what if he doesn’t like me?” You protested.
“I swear to you on my mother that Eddie is going to love you.” Dustin said, trying to calm you down, “You’re great. You actually came with a character to play, and he’s going to be so happy that a girl is showing interest in his hobbies.”
You were about to turn tail and leave when you felt an iron grip around the meat of your bicep, pulling you forward with an unnatural strength born entirely of Nerd Rage.
“Oh hell no!” Mike said, pulling you kicking and protesting towards the door, “You’re not doing this to me right now god dammit! You’re going to get your ass in there, and you’re going to play! I didn’t sit through lunch listening to your weird edgy character backstory just so you could pussy out at the last minute! Now get your ass. In. NOW!”
With a harsh shove, you flew into the drama room – tripping on your own two feet trying to catch yourself – and spilling the contents of your trapper keeper all over the ground. Strong hands caught you before you face planted into the floor, holding you steady.
“Easy, easy!” Called out a familiar voice, “Goddamn... What the hell was that for, Mike?! You could’ve broken her nos-…”
Eddie Munson’s voice trailed off, and the boys watched as their fearless leader, their metalhead bard, began to stare open mouthed slack jawed at you.
“You told us to find a lost sheep.” Mike snarled, “So here she is.”

Author's note: I am finishing my written assignments for uni this and next week, so I'm being extra slow with the requests, for which I am sorry :( Anyway, this request was super cute and I loved writing it! Hope you enjoy and thank you for requesting!
Tumblr media
Becoming a war hero almost overnight sounds like a dream come true for every shinobi. All the years of pain, sweat and blood finally being recognised and appreciated by the people was something that rarely happened through history, and even when it did, most of the time it didn't last long.
But Naruto was no ordinary war hero - he was once the most hated person in Konoha, who despite everything remained loyal to his village and his friends. Filled with hope and ambition for the future, he proved himself as an excellent shinobi and most importantly, a good potential leader. So when Kakashi gave up his position as the Hokage, there was no question about who should be his successor.
Everything in his life fell into place pretty quickly after that - he bought a house, he started volunteering at the academy and the hospital during weekends, and also became the best man to Shikamaru and Temari's wedding. The boy that was once called a "freak" was now the "man of progress" - a symbol of prosperity and inspiration to many children across the Land of Fire. Tales and songs were already written in his name, and to him, it still felt unreal.
With fame came also attention. In the beginning, he loved it. Having women competing for his affection was fun and also very new for him - never has anyone asked him out on a date or given him gifts before. It did stroke his ego and for the first months after he became a Hokage, he entertained such advances. After all he was a single man, so why not? Perhaps one of these women would one day turn out to be the one.
Days became months, months became years and soon he found that almost all of his friends were either married or engaged. So far it never bothered him, but after Sakura and Sasuke came back carrying a child in their arms, he started to seriously think about what he wanted.
Years ago, if anyone has asked him what he seeks in a partner, his answer would've easily been his teammate. But since then a lot has changed, including him. He was more mature and level-headed now, and looking back, he realised what he felt toward the pink-haired kunoichi was not real love, but rather a childish crush. She was his best friend and he had deep respect for her, but even he realised how incompatible their personalities were and how his teenage self had an unrealistic idea of who she actually is.
Naruto was the definition of fire. He often acted based on his emotions and while he was better at self-control than he was before, there were still moments when he slipped up and let his inner thoughts take over his rationality. The last thing he needed was someone who had the same burning soul. Quite the opposite - he yearned for calmness. His heart needed to be both loved and protected by someone who can balance him.
This realisation felt heavier with each day. To have someone by his side soon became a mirage - no matter how often he attempted to give a chance to someone, the spark was just never there. All these women looked differently and talked differently, but ultimately they all gave him the same feeling - emptiness.
"Everything comes with time", Kakashi said to him, when he noticed him sitting by himself at Ino and Sai's wedding. The blonde man just smiled, weakly nodding at his sensei, not having the energy to oppose him. At this point, he wanted nothing more than to just finish his drink and head home to rest for the early morning meeting he had the next day.
Like almost everything in his life, however, this didn't go to plan. He was just about to stand up from his place, when his eyes locked with yours across the room. "She is definitely not from here", he thought, as you directed a small smile at him, lifting your glass in the air, before returning your attention to Ino, who was eagerly explaining her honeymoon plans to you. Naruto assumed you were not a shinobi as well, as he was sure he would've remembered you if he had encountered you in the past.
Before he can think about what he was doing, he was already walking toward the table where you and the bride were sitting. Pulling the chair next to Ino and opposite you, he slumped on it, his eyes dancing between you two.
"Can I join you, ladies?", he asked, despite the fact he already had. You both nodded and he grinned in response, before turning toward Ino and laying his hand on her shoulder:
"Congratulations on your marriage, Ino! Sai is a lucky guy!"
"You bet he is!", she laughed, nudging you with her elbow. Expecting such a response from her, you only rolled your eyes, shaking your head with a small smile. There was no room for disagreement, however - while Ino had quite a personality, she was one of the most kind and sincere people you have ever met. No wonder you became friends so quickly after she was sent to a mission in your village and you preserved that friendship despite the distance and all the years that have passed.
"Oh!", the bride suddenly exclaimed, grabbing your hand and almost shoving it into the blonde man’s face, "Naruto, this is Y/N. She has been my friend for... How many? Almost 10 years now! She is originally from the Curtain Village, but has been travelling for a while now."
"The Curtain Village? Isn't that the capital of Land of Silence?"
"It is", you confirmed, shaking his hand once he put it in yours. Noticing the slight furrow of his brows, you were quick to add with a smirk: "I am not a criminal that is here to blow up a wedding, if that is what you are thinking."
Letting out a scoff, Naruto looked a few times between you and Ino, before laughing nervously. He still hadn't let go of you, continuing to shake your arm up and down.
"What? I-you... I didn't-", he stammered, looking over to the bride for help. It was true a very brief thought of suspicion flashed through his mind hearing where you were from, but how can anyone blame him? The Land of Silence was a country of lawlessness, full with criminals and terrorist, all of them sharing the same hatred for Five Great Shinobi.
"Oh, don't listen to her, she is joking!", Ino laughed, before turning toward you and gently slapping you on the shoulder. Her eyes moved to the middle of the table, above which the Hokage was still holding your hand, his whole face flushed bright red. The minute of silence must have caught the man's attention, because soon after he let go of you, moving his fingers behind his body and nervously scratching his neck.
"Not weird at all", your friend muttered, before turning toward you, "Y/N, this is Naruto! A childhood friend, a war hero, the current Hokage... and also a man who does not know how to act like a normal human being in front of a beautiful woman."
He immediately opened his mouth to protest but was stopped the second your laugh reached his ears. This has to be the most melodic and beautiful sound he has ever heard. Too lost admiring it, he didn't pay any attention to Ino, who excused herself, giving you both a knowing look. He noticed only a few minutes later your shared friend is missing and he mentally cursed himself of how he was behaving. His teenage years were long gone, why couldn't he compose himself like the grown man he is?
"So, Hokage...", the title sounded almost seductive from your lips, "What was a man of such importance doing by himself at the bar? One would think you would be the centre of attention tonight. After the bride and groom, of course."
The tone of your voice combined with the sparkle in your eyes was enough for him to be able to barely keep focus on what you were actually saying. Squirming in his seat, he nervously laughed, wondering for how long were you watching him before he approached you. He must have looked like a complete fool sitting by himself ordering glass after glass and only occasionally being spoken to by the passing guests. Definitely not the impression he wanted to leave.
"I just... needed some time away from people. I didn't know Ino and Sai had THAT many friends", his words made you laugh and he instantly beamed at the sound, happy he was the one causing it.
"What about you? You here with someone?"
The slight nod of your head made his heart drop to his stomach and the corners of his mouth moved downward into a frown. Was it surprising? You were a beautiful woman after all, of course the chances for you to be taken were high. He sure as hell was disappointed though. A tiny part of him was hoping that you were here by yourself and that maybe, just maybe, he would have the chance to get to know you more.
Seeing the way his whole expression darkened, you bit back a smile, nodding your head to the end of the large room. There, in a corner, one baby boy and two little girls, one of which was Sarada, were enthusiastically smashing plastic toys around, being supervised by smiling Sakura.
"I am accompanied by the fine gentleman over there", you pointed to the boy, before laughing, "But I think he may be too occupied at the moment to even remember I exist."
Naruto followed the direction of which your finger was pointing and he suddenly felt his body relax. Oh. You were talking about that type of company.
"Is that your brother?"
Raising your brow at him, you gave him a small smirk, finding his question cute. There was something about this man that was both extremely sweet, yet attractive - perhaps it was the innocence he radiated, while looking so strong and masculine.
"You are flattering me", your attention moved back to the child, who was now trying to communicate something with Sarada, "This is my son, actually."
"Your son?", his voice came out louder and squeakier than expected and he immediately added, "It's just... you look so young, heh. Not that is a bad thing, you know? You are beautiful! Your son is also beautiful... Not in a creepy way, I mean he looks a lot like you and-"
The words suddenly got stuck in his throat and he loudly gulped, already fearing the disaster he just created. Expecting you to stand up and leave, or maybe even slap him, he was shocked when all you did was to just grab his hand and give it a little squeeze.
"You sure blabber a lot for a Hokage", you joked, before standing up, "Excuse me just for a minute."
Blue eyes followed your body across the room, curiously watching how you picked up the small boy in your arms and placed it on your hips, before making your way back. Now that he was getting closer, Naruto could fully appreciate the striking resemblance the child had with you. You had dressed him in a little blue shirt and black pants, which was complementing your dress with the same colours.
“Wow! He is literally your twin! Dad must be jealous”, he laughed nervously once you were just few feet away. The mention of he word “dad” made your body stiffen and you adjusted your baby’s position, so you can both sit comfortably.
“I doubt that - that man didn't even have the decency to show up for his child's birth, let alone acknowledge his existence .”
The blonde almost chocked on his drink, hitting his chest a few times. Was it bad to feel so good after hearing you say these words? He would never dream of wishing any child to grow up without a father, yet something inside of him felt almost relieved.
"Oh?", his posture relaxed and he raised one eyebrow, "So you are single mother?"
The answer was obvious, but he needed to be 100% sure - the last thing he wanted was to ruin someone's relationship, especially when there is a child involved. The nod of your head and the small smile were the final assurance he needed and without further word, he moved to the seat next to you which was previously occupied by Ino.
The sudden movement startled the baby in your arms and it immediately turned its head to the side, curiously observing the man.
"Hi, little one! My name is Naruto. Oh my, you are very cute!"
Uzumaki was good with kids. Maybe it was because of his friendly appearance or the fact he was full with energy, just like them, but there has not been a single child so far that didn't adore him from the moment they laid their eyes on him. Even Sarada, much to Sasuke's dismay.
The look that your son was giving him, however, was anything but impressed. Staring at him with his big eyes, he didn't even move a muscle, as if he was challenging him to a staring contest.
Can babies even challenge someone? Naruto never thought so, but he could swear the boy's brows furrowed just a bit, enough for him to send a clear message: "I may be cute, but you are not and neither is your attempt to impress my mom."
"He is very shy", you said, bouncing him on your lap. As a result to your constant travels due to your job, he didn't had a lot of interactions with other children or with people in general. Growing up without a father, he was very attached to you and any unknown person was always treated with suspicion.
To you he was just being cautious. To the man to your right, however, he was protective. The look he has given him was not one of a timid child, quite the opposite - he may be small, but he loved his mama and was not about to let a random man come and sweep her off her feet. Even if he was the Hokage himself.
"Well, I would love to get to know him", the man smiled, before lifting his eyes to yours, "and you, of course! Maybe... I can take you out on a dinner or something?"
"No", the word fell out of your child's mouth, before you can even start replying. Naruto looked at him, noticing the small pout that was now formed on his chubby face. Biting his lip, the Uzumaki tried his best to contain his laugh and remain serious. Not that he didn't respect the little man and how he tried to protect you, but he was so small and cute, it was hard to take him seriously.
"Hey, that is not nice!", you said to your son, giving him a look. He, however, didn't even acknowledge you, his whole attention trained on the man next to you.
"I am sorry, he just learned the word "no", and now he keep saying it at the most random times."
The blonde nodded with a smile, knowing that this was definitely NOT a random time.
"But to answer your question, WE would love to go on a dinner with you!", you adjusted the baby in your arms and the shift finally made him look at you. With a smile, you pressed a kiss to his temple, before looking back at the Hokage: "I am staying with Ino for the next three weeks. Pick us up tomorrow at 8?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day Naruto was half an hour early to the arranged time. Too scared to knock on the door and look way too eager to see you, he decided to wait outside, almost giving Ino a heart attack once she opened the door and nearly bumped her head in his chest.
"Naruto, what the hell are you doing just standing in front of my door?"
"Uh... Waiting?", he scratched the back of his head nervously, wishing there was a hole in the ground that can swallow him whole. It was not like this was his first date ever, why was he nervous about?
Deep inside he knew the answer - it was not you who was making him anxious, but your son. The way their first interaction went woke something competitive in him and now he was determined to prove himself as a man, good enough to be a partner and a father.
Being the village's hero he hasn’t faced a challenge like this for a while, so while he thought a bit of smooth talking and play time with your child were enough to win your son over, it seemed to make the situation even worse. The child refused to play with him and instead was clinging to you the whole time, giving Naruto such a look, which could only be described as a glare.
"He is not usually like this", you said at the end of your date, when you were both saying your 'goodbyes' in front of Ino's house, "I am really sorry if it made you uncomfortable or-"
Before you can finish, big calloused fingers pressed themselves to your lips, silencing you. You were glad that your son was now asleep, as he saw the gesture, he would surely cry, just like he did every time Naruto tried to grab your hand or touch you in any way during dinner.
"Hey, I think it is completely normal", the blonde let out a short breathy laugh, moving his eyes between the child and your face, "He just want to protect his mother. If I was him, I would be the same..."
Looking down, you carefully considered his words. You avoided dating after your ex left you once he found you are pregnant, so you never had the chance to observe your baby boy around men. But looking at his behaviour now, the Hokage's words made sense.
Thankfully for you, the Uzumaki was not a man who gave up easily. Pressing a kiss to your cheek, he invited you both to go and visit him the next day in the Hokage tower. He promised to give you a tour around and grab a lunch with you during his break.
For the three weeks you were in Konoha, you spend every single day with Naruto. He started going to work extra early, just so he can leave on time to pick you up and show you another one of his favourite spots around Konoha. For everyone around you, it was obvious you were absolutely whipped for one another and all this extra effort from his side seemed almost unnecessary in their eyes. For him, however, it was more than necessary, especially since your shared future was depending on it.
As a teacher, you built your job around travelling - you loved sharing your knowledge with the world, as well gaining new one from each place you visited. Such life was busy and demanding, especially for a single parent, but the pros outweighed the cons significantly.
Naruto refused to directly ask you to move to Konoha permanently, but his intentions were pretty clear - he never missed a chance to point out how good the Academy is, how there is a higher education institution being build right now and how gifted the kids in the village were. In the beginning, you didn't give any indication you were even considering staying, but after a while you started to show your interest in your own way - mainly by asking questions about the job market, the teachers in the Academy and in general the life in Konoha.
His relationship with your son also improved drastically. At first, the child stopped "glaring" at him and actually trusted him to come near you. Then, a few days later, he agreed for the first time to play ball with him and at the end of your walk in the park, he even fell asleep in Naruto's arms. By the time you had to leave, your son was so attached to the blonde, he refused to let go of his neck and go in your arms.
"We need to go, darling", you muttered tiredly, trying to detach him from the Hokage.
"No", he cried even louder, "Mama - bye!"
Letting out a loud laugh, Naruto adjusted the little boy in his arms, so he frees one hand and takes yours in it.
"Maybe mama would consider staying", he said, his grin transforming into a soft smile. Squeezing your fingers between his, he tugged you toward him, wrapping his free hand around your waist.
"I won't force you to stay if you do not want to... but I really, really wish you would consider it! I know we have been knowing each other for weeks, but damn, I am in love with you! And I love this little guy here", he looked over the child in his arms, that was now snuggling in his chest, giving you the biggest puppy eyes, "He does feel like my son. And if you leave... I may have to follow you till you agree to come back. And believe it, I do have some experience with making people come back!"
Letting out a giggle, you raise your brow at his words, the bag on your shoulder already falling down.
"Yeah? You would travel around the whole world just to bring us back to you?"
Closing the distance, he leaned his head to the side, so he can lay a small kiss on your lips. He pressed his forehead to yours, letting out a breath of relief once he heard your bag falling to the floor.
"I will travel to the end of the universe, if it means you will be with me."

“I’m afraid I must call you out of retirement for a final mission.”
Cold ice shot through Tobi’s chest. Fuck.
Did he know? He couldn’t. If he knew, he wouldn’t show it like this. His visit with T&I would be a lot less cheerful, that’s for sure. Was he prodding Tobi, watching for his reaction? Did Sarutobi honestly think he’d slip up? Tobi was incapable of slipping up. He couldn’t tell the truth with a kunai to his throat at this point.
“What sort of mission is it?” Tobi asked excitedly, ripping open the folder. He held the paper up and slowly mouthed the words on the page, fighting to get through the page. Look at him, he filled out his mission reports in crayon and could barely read. “Mission report…assignment duration, promotion or release…pay…oh, ew…assignment…jounin sensei…”
Tobi trailed off.
Distantly, he heard himself say, “Um. Maybe this is a mistake?”
As promised in last post. Kakashi & Obito roleswap. Barely. It's complicated. Please pay no attention to how many roleswaps I have written. Just ignore it. Do me a favor and do not think about it. OK? Thank you.
Snippet from a much longer, much messier document. This part was the very first part writiten and very much a proof of concept. I'm trying to figure out if I should overhaul the thing and turn this into an actual story, so let me know.
Short beginning scene of Tobito's Wild Ride under the cut.
“Tobi. Thank you for coming.”
Obviously, Tobi didn’t bow or kneel. That wasn’t the sort of person Tobi was. He just grinned broadly, waving so broadly that his body swayed with the motion. “Gramps! Hello! Wow, you’ve gotten old since I’ve seen you!”
Sarutobi chuckled, raising a pipe to his mouth. The pipe - either ‘I’m thinking hard’, ‘I want to pretend I’m thinking hard and giving due consideration to your idea when I don’t really care’, or ‘I’ve already decided and I’m pretending that you have a say in this’. What was the point of the last one? This was a literal military dictatorship. Tobi forgot how exhausting this man could be.
“It has been a while,” Sarutobi said indulgently. “Since…the T&I incident, I believe?”
Tobi giggled, high and childish. “Inoichi-san got sooo mad. But Tobi said he was real, real, real sorry, so I hope he’s not still mad…oh, no.” Tobi gasped, face falling in desolation. “Is Inoichi-san still mad at me? Oh, Tobi can go apologize again -”
“It’s water under the bridge.” Tobi exhaled gustily, wiping the back of his hand against his brow. It wasn’t his fault Inoichi hated him. Apparently his mind was absolutely impenetrable. Something about constant children’s lullabies just playing full blast in his head. Or songs regarding a specific time of day someplace in the world. “I have to apologize, Tobi. I always feel as if I should keep a better eye on you. There’s never enough time in the day for all of the people we care about. Please forgive me for my inattention to you.”
Manipulative old fuck. Tobi panicked, embarrassed by the attention and affection. He waved his hands quickly, almost jumping up and down. “Gramps! It’s okay! Tobi’s not lonely or sad! He still has Sasuke-chan! Sasuke-chan wasn’t brutally murdered, so Tobi’s A-OK!” Tobi had to tell himself that a lot. Every morning after a nightmare, which meant every morning period. “And I met a really nice old lady yesterday and helped her down the street. She gave me an apple sweet. It was delicious! So there’s nothing to forgive, Gramps!”
“I’m glad,” Sarutobi said warmly. Ugh. Tobi knew objectively that Minato-sensei had tried to imitate that tone, but he still liked to convince himself that Sarutobi was mimicking Minato-sensei. That was a good one, he’d have to use it. “Sasuke-kun is actually why I called you here today.”
That kid. Tobi sighed. “Tobi is sorry that Tobi cannot control Sasuke-chan. I’ve told him that punching Naruto-kun is bad, but he just doesn’t listen…”
“I’m sure you’ll find a method somehow.” Sarutobi pushed a thin file folder across the desk, and Tobi curiously stepped forward and picked it up. He’d know a file like that anywhere. It was a mission assignment folder.
How did Tobi feel about this? Tobi sure as hell knew how Obito felt - desperately wondering if a T&I visit was in his future. Tobi was scared of the missions, sure. But he was a five year old. How would a five year old react to these things?
Well. Tobi knew how he would have reacted. He would have sighed and rolled his eyes about yet another mission. Pretty impressive when you were burned out of your career at five years old. He blamed the two month graduation for years before he learned of Rin and Kakashi’s hell and eventually concluded that it could have been worse. At least Tobi was paid for his war zone.
“A mission?” Tobi gushed. He clenched on the folder far too tightly, like a child clutching a wheezing frog. “I’m going on missions again?” He jumped a little, his usual little show of excitement. Kept his energy up. “Does that mean Gramps isn’t mad at me anymore?”
Tobi carefully snuck a glance up from the folder, checking Sarutobi’s expression. Sarutobi’s face was impassive stone, as usual, but he looked a little worn too. “We were never angry with you.”
Tobi fully looked up, tilting his head and frowning. “Nuh-uh. Tobi remembers. Everybody was so mad at Tobi. Just because his hand slipped…it wasn’t Tobi’s fault.”
“We know,” Sarutobi said gently. “Minato didn’t retire you because he was angry with you. He was only looking out for you.”
Well, Tobi didn’t want to be out of fucking retirement. It was objectively insane to put him on any mission. Tobi had gotten sabotaging every attempt to make him a useful member of society down to a fucking art. He had a shitton of inheritance to blow and a nice long civilian life to blow it on. Maybe he was too stubborn about it - Iruka was definitely convinced that he was the second laziest person in the village and sabotaged his assigned jobs on purpose, which Tobi would have resented if it wasn’t absolutely true - but spite was important. Spite woke him up in the morning.
The only thing that helped him tolerate this stupid village was his hate for it. Ain’t that just the way.
“Trust me. You’re hardly our first choice.” Finally, they agreed on something. “But you’re the only one in this village with a Sharingan, Tobi. You’re the only one who can teach Sasuke how to use his power.”
“Nuh-uh. Um. This is a mistake. Ha ha.” Tobi ripped the paper from the folder, crumpling it into a ball and tossing it over his shoulder. “Because, um, I can’t use my Sharingan. Did Gramps maybe forget that? Ha ha?”
“But you still remember how to use it. Even if you can’t use it yourself, you can still walk Sasuke-kun through using his.” Sarutobi eyed Tobi knowingly, the dim glowing embers of his pipe reflecting a soft light in his eyes. “You were once a genius with the Sharingan, Tobi. They said you were the best since Madara.”
Yeah! Yeah, they did say that, old man! That was the whole fucking problem!
Mention of the Sharingan or Tobi’s old talents always upset him, so this was a great springboard into nipping this in the bud. He’d throw a hissy fit if he had to. Tobi had killer hissy fits. That was how Sasuke was given a seat as head of house in the Clan Council. Tobi’s wail could pierce eardrums and Sasuke had deserved that fucking seat.
“Tobi doesn’t like the Sharingan anymore!” Tobi exclaimed. “Tobi wants to help Sasuke-chan, Gramps, cross Tobi’s heart! But Tobi doesn’t like the Sharingan and the Sharingan don’t like Tobi. And that’s just the truth.” Tobi crossed his arms, sniffling and scrunching his nose. “And don’t say what you’re gonna say. Tobi knows what’s up. Minato-sensei’s little boy is on that team too, isn’t he?”
He absolutely was. Tobi had speed-read the entire document while he was reading it out loud. But even the remnant of Obito’s genius was still considerable, and Tobi’s moments of keen insight were useful for pushing the enemy into a corner.
“I thought you might appreciate the chance to look after your sensei’s son,” Sarutobi said mildly, removing a silver lighter from his pocket. Engraved, a gift from Biwako. Was that on purpose? A mind game on Tobi, an unconscious memory on his part, or a purposeful evocation of a memory just for him? Was he trying to remind Tobi of something or corner Obito? Damn this man. “Help him like your sensei helped you.”
The really great thing about Tobi was that he could get away with saying this. It was only to the left of cathartic, but at least it was in the zone. “I’m not stupid, Gramps!” Tobi yelled. The ANBU in the corners twitched, but when Sarutobi’s fingernail clicked on the silver lighter they subsided. “You’re giving Minato-sensei and Kushina-neechan’s little baby and his fox to the last Sharingan because you want the Sharingan to eat the Fox! Why are you doing what you want when you know it won’t work? Tobi’s tried, he can’t - he can’t, Gramps.”
It wasn’t the sort of thing any self-respecting Uchiha would admit. Half of them would kill themselves if they lost their Sharingan. Uchiha Obito, whose Sharingan was the pride and joy of the clan - who was the Uchiha’s Uchiha before Itachi-kun was even a twinkle in his mother’s eye - would never abandon his one point of value.
And everybody knew how prideful the Uchiha were. There was no Uchiha alive who would pretend to be Tobi. Could you imagine? What Uchiha would humiliate themselves like this with a goofy smile on their face? A regular human being could barely do it. An Uchiha? Forget it. Impossible.
But Kushina-neechan’s favorite shinobi was always the most surprising of all. And Obito cared about that more than all the rest.
The only ninja who would have ferreted him out was Kakashi. Kakashi and his dopey, stupid smile. His ridiculous porn books and his clumsy pratfalls. His laziness, lateness, and utter underachiever lifestyle. Only Kakashi ever said those words, with a wink and a smile: a true shinobi looked underneath the underneath. So save your energy and watch the clouds with me, Uchiha-kun. No? Maybe next time…
The next time never came. Being a good Uchiha had always meant something, and the useless son of a disgraced clan meant nothing at all. Nothing to anybody but Minato and Kushina and Rin and Obito.
“You’re better than nothing.” In that second, Sarutobi really did look very tired. He didn’t look like he was lying at all. “You’re the best we have, Tobi.”
Tobi was silent. Sarutobi knew it wasn’t much of a compliment. Even somebody like Tobi would know that.
“As a favor to Sasuke-kun and Naruto-kun,” Sarutobi said, “and as a favor to me. Please give these children the help you can. Don’t worry - I’ll ask the other jounin to pitch in and help.”
Tobi lowered his voice, and he allowed his tone to grow a little more serious. “I’m not strong. I’m not good at molding chakra and I haven’t really fought anyone in a long time. I can’t protect the children.”
“We’ll be careful,” Sarutobi allowed. But there was something in his eye… “You may be rusty, but I doubt you’re out of the ring yet. Have a little faith in yourself.” The look in his eyes glinted and grew, and for the first time he stared right at Tobi. “You did hold your own against Uchiha Itachi.”
They stared at each other for a long second, two. A little too late, Tobi laughed and scrubbed the back of his neck. “Silly Gramps! I said a billion times. Tobi hid. I don’t think Itachi-kun thought it was worth it to kill me…I don’t think Itachi-kun ever thought I was a real Uchiha. But we’ve showed him, huh?” Tobi grinned, jabbing a finger at his chest. “Now there’s three whole Uchiha in the whole wide world! One third’s a serial killer, one third’s twelve, and one third is…drumroll please…Tobi! Konoha’s in good hands, ne?”
Tobi smiled at the man who ordered Uchiha Itachi to kill their entire family.
Sarutobi smiled back at the man who was currently pulling the most intricate and improbable lying campaign in a village of ninjas. In Obito’s defense, it was to save his own life. Sarutobi had murdered his family to - well, save the village, but Tobi didn’t have to like it.
“Thank you for accepting the mission. I trust you’ll do splendidly.”
“Uh. Tobi didn’t -”
“The children ought to be waiting for you in the schoolroom at 1000 hours. You ought to head over - I expect you’re already late.”
Tobi squealed, looking at the unwound watch on his wrist and slapping his head. “Oh no! I’m late, I’m late, I’m late! Bye, Gramps! You promise-promise to get back-up for Tobi, right?”
Pleasantly, Sarutobi said, “I would not trust you alone with those children, no.”
“Yay! Okay, gotta goooo!”
When he left Sarutobi’s office, he was about ten minutes late to his meeting with the children. By the time he arrived at the school he was over an hour late. Lost on the road of life and all that. It didn’t matter - venting about this ridiculousness to Kakashi was way more important than meeting the brats on time.
This would be a disaster. There was no way this would end well. Tobi was a brain damaged, traumatized moron who couldn’t use his one skill and who hadn’t been on active duty since he whoopsie-daisy’d his sword into his best friend’s heart. If Sarutobi didn’t keep up his promise and drag in the other jounin to take up his slack then he’d riot. Did he want Tobi to do work? Tobi? He had resigned from capitalism and the military industrial complex. Pulling him into this shit again - as if he hadn’t suffered enough -
As if Sasuke and Naruto hadn’t. Maybe one of Sarutobi’s stupid-ass motivations was because he knew that only Tobi would be nice to Sasuke and Naruto. Damn Naruto especially. For that, at least…if only as a favor to Minato-sensei…
To make up for it…maybe a little bit of real work would be the least he could do.
Ugh. Hopefully not that much.
Tobi finally touched down at the school, following the Academy hallways to Sasuke’s classroom by route memory. He dropped off Sasuke’s lunch a lot. It embarrassed him so much. It was classic.
Tobi walked into the classroom and allowed a large basket of glitter to fall on top of his head.
A peal of laughter squealed throughout the room, and Tobi opened his eyes to see Uzumaki Naruto clutching his sides and laughing his ass off. Quite rudely, Sasuke had his feet propped up on a desk. That third girl was sitting primly in her seat, terrified.
“What an idiot! Our new sensei actually fell for - wait.” Naruto straightened, squinting at Tobi. He yelled, jabbing a finger at him. “Hey! Number Two Ramen Fan! What the hell are you doing here?”
Sasuke almost fell out of his seat. He scrambled to his feet, panicked in his special Sasuke way - that was, eyes a little wider than usual. “Tobi? Did I forget my lunch?”
“Um?” Sakura Haruno hunched her shoulders in her seat, picking at the corner of a scroll. “Uchiha Obito’s our sensei. I thought you knew. Did you…not know?”
“Is this a joke?” Sasuke cried. “Who the hell thought this was funny? Tobi couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag! If they’re bullying us again, I swear to god I’ll strangle whoever -”
“Whoah,” Naruto cried, impressed. “Violent!”
“Everybody’s always bullying Tobi,” Sasuke snapped. “I’m an Uchiha. What sort of Uchiha would I be if I tolerated that?”
Glitter dripped down Tobi’s hair and sprinkled onto his clothing. He smiled, big and bright, and clapped his hands together. Sasuke was groaning, but Naruto and Sakura just leaned in closer - caught in a morbid curiosity, desperate to meet their own fate. Signed and sealed. “Tobi’s first impression of you all is…you’re so funny! Tobi likes you!”
The kids paled.

Hey!! I wanna ask why you hate Hinata since I'm quite curious
The answer is deeper than may you think, I don't know if that's what you wanted to see (and I'm sorry if it's not), but I'll answer truthfully, lol.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hinata Hyuga is everything I despise in the world.
I'm a feminist, I believe that women are capable, smart, strong, interesting, independent, carring, hardworking, ambitious, ready to stand for what they believe, ready to make a change, ready to take the world by storm.
I also believe that we need that represented in media, so girls and young woman can see, that they can be everything I listed above.
Hinata is (unfortunately) the exact opposite.
1) A woman can be capable.
She is uncapable. She's so dependent on a guys approval that she became a copy of him. Even her "ninja way" is just stolen from a guy she likes.
Tumblr media
2) A woman can be smart.
She is shown as dumb and incompetent of making smart decisions. She has to be reminded to use her only power. She has to be reminded to look at the enemy. She jumps into battles she has no chance in - without a plan. She puts herself in bad situations only to be a victim.
Tumblr media
That panel is one of many instances that show she is just dumb.
Instead of looking (and she has one of the best eyes in universe) - she asked her teammates. Instead of thinking she just stood there - confused.
3) A woman can be strong.
She lost all her battles and never made a dent in the world.
Tumblr media
Self-explanatory.
4) A woman can be interesting.
There is nothing interesting about her. She was born rich, with one of strongest powers in the universe given to her by birth and... she did nothing about it. Nothing. Her whole character is a guy. Her every sentence is about/for/to or in hopes of being noticed by A GUY.
I remember one instance of her saying something that had nothing to do with Naruto. JUST ONE. I know she Is a background character, but this is just pathetic.
Tumblr media
Credit for pic: @maoam (i can't find that blog, but on Google - it was credited to them)
5) A woman can be independent.
Her whole life is dependent by recognition from Naruto. When she speaks, she speaks so he would hear. When she fights, she fights so he would see. When she trained, she trained to stand with him. When she looks, she looks for him or at him. Her whole life is a guy. The end.
Tumblr media
That all she cares about. "Is Naruto watching?". She breathes Naruto, he is her oxygen. She is nothing and incapable of doing anything, unless a guy is watching.
6) A woman can be carrying.
She cares about Naruto and herself. Thats it. Her family, her friends, her teammates, her guards, everyone in her life suffers because she needs NARUTO.
Tumblr media
If anyone is confused about this picture, SHE IS JEALOUS OF A DYING GUY BECAUSE HE CAN STAND WITH HER CRUSH. She couldn't even pretend to care.
And she does that ALL THE TIME. Kiba? Ko? Hanabi? Neji? Shikamaru? Anyone? Meh, irrelevant! "Naruto-kun 👉👈".
7) A woman can be hardworking.
She had such potential and did nothing. She didn't even (manage or try to) learn her families techniques. She never could do the rotation and she barely uses 64 palms (she wobbles while doing it at the end of manga)
Tumblr media
And when she had a chance to train - she was bringing tea :)
Tumblr media
8) A woman can be ambitious.
She has no ambition. Not everyone has to be a talented and breathtaking ninja (even tho she was born with crazy amount of potential), but just doing nothing?
She has a powerful family, powerful connections (she is a doughter of a clan leader), and Hokage as a husband. She could be a politician! She could try to change the world, but she... likes to cook and watch TV.
And ok, she doesn't have to be world-changing ambitious, but God damn it- AT LEAST TRY TO CHANGE YOUR OWN FAMILY.
She did nothing. Neji "fixed" the Hyuga clan and she did nothing. The side branch d*es like they are supposed to - protecting her.
Tumblr media
That's it. The world is in shambles, the war is going strong, but... I want to stand with Naruto-kun 👉👈
9) A woman can stand up for what she believes.
She never stood up for anything except Naruto.
Her family being slave owners? That's fine by her.
Her teammates may lose the exam? That's fine by her.
The village may be destroyed? That's fine by her.
AND THE WORST PART IN ALL OF THIS IS - SHE DIDN'T STAND UP FOR NARUTO IN THE RIGHT WAY.
She was just WATCHING. She watched him for years. She watched when he was abused. She watched him being bullied. She watched him being alone. She just watched.
She could've been his friend in academy - She didn't. She could've said something when he was hurt - She didn't. For all we know - she didn't even visit him when Jiraya died.
Tumblr media
This is her dream. Why dream of change? Why dream of both families being together? Her cousin stalking her and being unhappy - that's what matters :)
Either she is just a bad person and likes having slaves OR she just doesn't care to change it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And it's OK to not be all of those things, but nothing? Seriously?
Hinata is everything I grow up not wanting to be. She is the anti-feminist. She is the textbook pick me girl. She is what women-hating men want all of us to be:
Submissive.
Quite.
Not too smart.
Not independent.
Just a mouse who will birth and clean the house.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So in conclusion:
I'm a young woman in a world dominated by men, so characters like Hinata make me want to puke 🤷‍♀️
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AND A BIT LESS DEEP FOR THE ENDING:
I'm a sucker for a good redemption. OH, HOW I LOVE A REDEMPTION ARC.
In og she was weak and obsessed with a guy, that's fine - many of female characters were at the beginning, but she never changed.
She had a chance for good backstory (being a weak link of a strong family). Why not make her a crazy powerful junin who can lead the family to change? Or maybe get over her obsession with Naruto to become an important and useful part of her team? Or maybe make her singlehandedly end the slavery in Hyuga clan by d*ing for Neji instead of the other way around?
But no, a weak obsessed girl will stay a weak obsessed girl - just married at the end 🤷‍♀️
So, on top of the above, I hate her for wasted potential for a good redemption arc lol.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope I answered your question, if not - im sorry, please ask again! ❤️
P.S. If anyone is confused about the panels that I chose, feel free to ask for elaboration because there are LOTS OF PANELS that I'd like to use, but pic limits on Tumblr are crazy 🤷‍♀️
So here’s a post defending Sakura and since it makes assumptions about people who think Sakura is a bad character (not badly written exactly, just unlikeable) I’ll respond to it: [link]
“Sakura is toxic because she made fun of Naruto for being an orphan–” She regretted it the second after Sasuke rightfully called her out and even opened a therapy center for war orphans. “
Her opening a clinic is not canon, it’s novel only, Kishimoto didn’t write that, and only Kishimoto’s portrayal is canon. What Kishi portrayed was that Sakura never redeemed herself when it comes to understanding loneliness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She compared her shallow feelings to the massacre of Sasuke’s entire family and clan. That’s how selfish and ignorant she is. She’s taking her family for granted and rubbing it in Sasuke’s face as she makes this about herself and her hurting because he’s leaving her. She even said Sasuke’s revenge won’t make HER happy. As if it’s about her or Sasuke should care whether it makes her happy or not. Even in chapter 693 after Sasuke had given a speech about how he wants change, Sakura went on a rant on how things can go back to how they were if Sasuke just stays with her. She doesn’t even listen what he says! No matter how much time passes. No matter how many times Sasuke tells her her feelings aren’t relevant when it comes to his goals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Kishimoto wrote her to be like this even in the Road to Ninja movie (which’s script he wrote). She has to constantly be told her actions are hurtful. She treats Naruto more like someone she has to tolerate because they’re in the same team rather than a friend. Sometimes she feels guilty when others point out how badly she treats him as a friend/comrade, but she always falls back. It’s hilarious after how awfully she treated him in part 1 she still begged him with tears in her eyes to bring Sasuke back. Lol. And her fake confession was indeed stupid and showed not only she doesn’t know Sasuke, she doesn’t know Naruto either. I hate the “Sakura makes mistakes, she’s human” excuse. I noticed usually when people use the word “human” to defend characters they’re annoying characters. She’s not sympathetic, she’s annoying. And dumb, she left her teammates in the middle of nowhere.
“Sakura is abusive because she constantly punches Naruto–” She only hit him in the manga when he did something perverted or disrespectful, it was heavily exaggerated in the anime. It's called slap stick comedy. If you think it's aBuSiVe, I hope you have the same energy for Jiraiya who peeked at the women's bathroom without consent and gets brushed off as ‘comedic purpose’, double standards much?”
Yes I absolutely have the same energy for Jiraiya. Screw him. And only when Naruto does something stupid? How is punching the shit out of him because he accidentally kissed Sasuke okay? Sasuke isn’t even hers. And what about when he punched both Naruto and Sai because Sai called Ino beautiful?
“Sakura was SEVEN when she announced Ino as her rival. I'm sorry y'all are morally uptight who's never made a single stupid decision as a kid that you feel the need to accuse a child of being a villain for acting like a child. And it has been implied very clearly Sakura wanted to get out of Ino's shadow and only used Sasuke as an excuse to do so. And if Sakura was this horrible bitchy friend you guys think she was then I don't think Ino would immediately jump to protect her during chunin exams. Sasuke did more terrible things to his best friend than Sakura did but once only Sakura gets shit for it. And they never stopped being friends, only their dynamic changed, it included friendly bickering and rivalry. Ino never was mad or bitter with Sakura and even proudly told her she bloomed into a beautiful flower, this doesn't sound like a person who's been unfairly betrayed by a best friend over a crush?”
First of all most little girls don’t dump their friends over a boy. Teenagers maybe. The reason why Ino still cares about Sakura is because Kishimoto portrayed Ino as a good friend who wanted to help Sakura. And still cared about her when her life was in danger. He even used Ino’s dad to stress her care for her friends being what he’s most proud about her during the war arc. He wanted to highlight Sakura’s bad treatment of her friends with Ino. Sakura was always portrayed as catty towards Ino. Their only interaction in part 2 is Sakura wanting Sai to call Ino ugly (why would Kishimoto do this and nothing positive from Sakura towards Ino in part 2?) and in Gaiden she’s nervously laughing when Sarada comes between Ino and Sasuke. Sakura also taped herself over Karin, she sees them both as threats. As she told Ino, she’d never let her near Sasuke. Kishimoto portrayed her consistently like this.
Tumblr media
“She has a Stockholm Syndrom--”
I’m not one of those who thinks she has a Stockholm syndrome. She’s just a dumb girl who mistook her hormonal urges and school girl “romance” for true love and acts obnoxious about it, with no regard for Sasuke’s feelings.
“She is shallow, she only liked Sasuke for his looks–” If her feelings for Sasuke truly were shallow, she'd have moved on after he left the village, she'd have moved on after he became a criminal, like Ino did. She saw Sasuke at his worst and still chose him with all his flaws. A ‘shallow crush’ wouldn't last for so many years. If her feelings weren't strong or deep, Sasuke wouldn't choose her in the end.
Her feelings are shallow. What kind of argument is “she didn’t move on, that’s why her feelings are not shallow” is? I guess this is good news for stalkers, their feelings are always true love because they don’t give up! Kishimoto used 自分勝手な 恋な, (jibungattena koina) which means selfish/self centered/egoistic love to describe Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke in the beginning. It’s a negative word. After the manga had ended he used the word 中毒 to describe Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke, which means addiction. And it’s even worse than the first one. It’s very negative, toxic. How do people not realize he’s mocking her? Also, Sakura DID give up on Sasuke and didn’t accept all his flaws. Sasuke even himself acknowledged at the end Naruto is the only one who never tried to cut ties with him and who never gave up on him. Maybe it’s someone else who needs to read the manga properly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her feelings never matured or developed. Kishimoto showed it to us very clearly. She’s desperate for any crumb from Sasuke, and mopes when she doesn’t get it. Even during the war arc, when the fate of the world was at stake, what she cared about was Sasuke-kun not fussing over her.
I’ll simply copypaste from my other post: Sakura was portrayed like any other fangirl of Sasuke in the beginning, who liked his looks and how cool he was. She never tried to approach Sasuke as a friend but only kept asking him on dates despite his blatant rejections. She never says why she loves him, or even likes him. According to herself Sasuke never says anything to her. Her first confession showed how little she understood Sasuke. She was the girl with everything, with family, while Sasuke and Naruto had nothing. Yet she had the nerve to say if Sasuke left she would be just as lonely as he was. She’s comparing the massacre of Sasuke’s family to a boy she never talks to leaving her, while disrespecting her own parents in the process. How juvenile that must have sounded like to someone like Sasuke. In Part 1 Sasuke occassionally protects Sakura because she’s too weak to protect herself, and in part 2 Sakura probably wanted to entertain the thought Sasuke would still have this consideration for her. But in Part 2 Sasuke treats Sakura like a fodder ninja. She doesn’t manage to get a proper reaction out of Sasuke who focuses on Naruto everytime he meets up with his former team. Sasuke also leaves Sakura to die couple times while choosing to save Naruto instead. Despite all this, Sakura still thought she’s entitled to Sasuke, and in her second confession she started to yet again scream how much she loves Sasuke and how much she hurts due to it. In both of her confessions she is guilt tripping Sasuke and trying to make him pity her. In both of her confessions she makes everything about herself. She admits to herself she can’t do anything for Sasuke, yet she tries to win him over by pity. But she annoys Sasuke once again, and he puts her in a murder genjutsu. Sasuke then says they have no reason to love each other. And he’s right. What does Sakura know about Sasuke? Clearly nothing, considering she said the worst things she could have said during both of her confessions. She heard Sasuke talk about wanting change, yet she started to scream how if Sasuke stays with her, things can go back to how they were. It’s like the most basic things she doesn’t understand. She’s just an overemotional child who has nothing of worth to say. Kakashi who coddles her tries to talk to Sasuke on her behalf as well, insisting Sakura suffers for loving him. Sasuke then thinks of his family and says perhaps those are ties to a failed past. As in Sakura literally lives in the past. And she does. Despite the fact everything has changed, she thinks about the moment when Sasuke thanked her, and ignores him calling her annoying for her ignorant comments, or the fact someone who wants change obviously doesn’t want to go back to the way things were. This brutal rejection though still won’t slow Sakura down, but after Sasuke is leaving to his atonement trip Sakura blushes like a school girl and asks to come with him. After him mocking her and putting her in a genjutsu, this is what she does. Sasuke didn’t choose her, she simply did not leave him alone. This is his reaction after seeing her first time in 12 years:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kishimoto also just HAD to drop the information that Sasuke never kissed Sakura. Because he wanted to show to us how loving their marriage is. Hah.
Tumblr media
He also had to drop the information Sasuke avoids her like she’s the plague. Just because.
If she didn't love him, she'd not be able to stop his curse mark.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m gonna stop you right there. Sasuke didn’t want to worry his teammates, he said so many times. He easily withdrew the cursemark during his match as well by remembering his teammates worry over him. It wasn’t that hard for him to do. It had nothing to do with Sakura’s love being “true” or “pure”.
“Sakura is useless as a main character–” That's not her fault. That's a criticism for the author. None of the female characters in the series have as much complexity, fight scenes or power as the male characters. It's a shonen centric more to the male characters. Sakura IS a main character because she contributes more in the manga than other female characters but she's not going to contribute as much as Sasuke or Naruto because the series revolved around men more than women. “
Wait til you find out the only version of Sakura that exists is the one Kishimoto created. And the issue isn’t her “not contributing as much as Naruto and Sasuke” it’s her being a dumbass who can’t do anything on battlefield unless she’s being held by hand and who prioritizes getting validation from Sasuke over actually acting like a proper shinobi. Let’s look at Sakura’s track record:
Land of Waves: Useless, just stands around.
Chunin exams: She thinks she’s got it during the written exam, but she didn’t realize the true meaning of the test despite acting she’s the smartest in their team. In the forest of death she stands around and screams, when she finally has to fight it’s like 2 minutes and she has to be saved by 4 support characters and Sasuke. She gets mocked for her amateuristic shinobi skills by her opponents. Ino uses shinobi like tactic during their fight, while Sakura only punches and has no strategy.
Konoha crush: She gets one-paneled by Gaara and well needs to be saved as always.
Search for Tsunade: Doesn’t do anything.
Sasuke Retrieval: Doesn’t do anything.
Kazekage Rescue: The only arc where she’s not useless and it’s because she’s literally used as a puppet and someone is directing her moves.
Tenchi Bridge Mission: Useless, gets knocked out and rescued several times.
Akatsuki Suppression: Doesn’t do anything.
Itachi Pursuit arc: Doesn’t do anything.
Pain arc: Cries for Naruto to help. Lmao. Doesn’t even try to buy him time despite acting she’s sooooo strong and wants to protect Naruto and Sasuke.
Kage Summit: Everything she tries to do in this arc she fails.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh Sakura, how useless you are. Can’t even land a punch on a regular Kumo ninja. Can’t even lie to Naruto believably. Can’t even lie to Sasuke believably. Have to be rescued from Sasuke more than once. Then end up crying like you always do. Haha.
War arc: Temari saved Shikamaru’s ass in part 1 already. She was also a great leader during the 4th shinobi war, and land a hit on Madara. And what about some others? Tsunade broke down Susanoo and healed her teammates while being broken in half, Karin took down a monster kages couldn’t, and Ino took control of the Ten-tails and stopped its attacks and connected the whole shinobi army. Meanwhile Sakura stans go crazy when she punches some white zetsus once (and IMMEDIATELY needs to be saved after because she was too busy bragging how she’s better than Tsunade and didn’t pay attention to her surroundings). She only started to fight when Sasuke appeared because she wanted to show off to him. And she’s still useless. Charges in with no strategy once again, gets stabbed by Madara and needs to be rescued. Then stand around in awe when Naruto and Sasuke actually know what they’re doing. She can’t even stab an eye to end it all. Kishi shows how in both Kage Summit arc and War arc she trembles with a kunai and doesn’t hit her target. None of the other female characters except Hinata are this bad. They use whatever little screentime they have to be useful, while Sakura is too busy being rescued and whining because Sasuke-kun doesn’t love her back.
Here’s a couple posts to showcase how Kishimoto writes her. He uses the same narrative motifs with Sakura until the end. Open your eyes:
[link], [link], [link]
There’s countless other posts on both of our blogs but those are pretty right to the point. I doubt people want to read a whole thesis right now.
In short, Sakura Haruno is fucking amazing and maybe if y'all didn't hold female characters to such a ridiculous high standard and bothered to understand the manga instead of watching filler episodes, you'd know.
I never watched fillers because they suck. Sakura also sucks even in the manga. It’s not hard to notice Kishimoto meant to portray her as a shallow, weak and boy crazy character. I’m not even gonna go for the comparison of characters who have suffered massive injustice from the system and react realistically and understandably, and Sakura who has had everything handed to her and couldn’t even began to understand the tragedies and suffering of those characters. Who still acts like her life is so hard when a boy she knows nothing about doesn’t like her back. Lol. She never grew up, and I wait for the day when people stop trying to excuse her character and insisting how she’s supposedly so great.
how did you become an Itasaku shipper, if you don’t mind me asking?
 I don’t mind.😊
To be honest, my love for them really started with my love for Itachi and Sakura individually. I was head over heels for him back then—completely obsessed! But I think we can relate on that, haha. I also loved Sakura a lot because she represented what girls were like at that age and how silly we could be at 12. She had her weaknesses and felt so real. That made her development incredible for me, especially when she grew into a strong woman and accomplished medic-nin. Even though she got a lot of hate for being obsessed with Sasuke, I never liked the double standard since Naruto was just as obsessed with him.
When I was a kid, and even now, I read and still read a lot of fanfiction focused on Sakura because she was my favorite female character in the franchise. One day, I was browsing ffnet and stumbled upon a fic that had Itachi and Sakura together. I was really surprised. Back then, I was naive and didn’t know much about pairings. I stupidly thought people only wrote about canon couples.😭😭 That’s kind of how I discovered the concept of crackships and rare pairings.
I was intrigued. I started wondering what their dynamic would be like if a romantic relationship developed between them, and since I already loved each character individually, I thought it would be interesting to put them together. I began reading fics that featured them as a couple, and I just slowly fell for them. I gradually but surely became enamored with what could be created between them. I found some incredible stories involving them, including some of the most popular fics from that time on ffnet.
I think I eventually realized that Itachi was a perfect match for Sakura. He was everything Sasuke wasn’t—and couldn’t be for her (though I love Sasusaku too). I can't really explain it; it just felt so obvious. Physically, they matched, and their personalities complemented each other in a strange way. Sakura was like the light at the end of the tunnel, the hope for renewal. She was the balm that could soothe Itachi's wounds, the softness in his chaotic and violent life. To me, Sakura has this aura of peace surrounding her. It’s like gravity.
Over time, we learned that all Itachi wanted was to find that peace. A woman who wants to help and heal others paired with a man who dreamed of a world where everyone could understand each other and live in harmony? I mean, they were meant to meet. I also feel like Itachi could really support Sakura; even though he was emotionally damaged, I think he would’ve shown her that she was a gem in the making. I don’t think he would’ve belittled her or her abilities, and at the same time, I believe Sakura wouldn’t want to disappoint him. That’s just my interpretation. Their relationship would’ve been different from hers with Sasuke. I think they would treat each other more as equals, respecting one another and pushing each other to always do better.
I believe Sakura could show Itachi that the world isn’t just a place of violence and deception. She could help him see that his dream of peace isn’t so utopian and that it’s actually possible to achieve.
So to answer your question, I think I became an Itasaku shipper without even realizing it. Over time, as I read more fics about them and my admiration for each of them grew, my appreciation for their pairing just kept getting stronger. I happened to stumble upon a fic about them one day, and it literally changed the course of my life. Since then, I’ve wanted to share the love I have for them with others by bringing them to life through my stories. I’ve been writing since I was 13, but I never had the courage to publish and share my work until much later.
Today, I hope to share that with my readers, that they enjoy what I write, and that we can geek out together over the characters, the dialogue, and how much we love or hate them depending on their personalities in my stories, haha.💕
Anyway, I hope this response wasn’t too long. If it was, sorry—I got a bit carried away!🥲
Hi
It's me again 😅
How are you today? Hope you have a great day /night ✨
I have multiple questions 😅
I love reading naruto manga but it's there a part that I don't understand
Tumblr media
Why did sasuke try to kill naruto here? I just don't understand it😅😅
And if Sai didn't stop him from killing naruto, sasuke would kill him?
Also in this chapter, sakura said for naruto, sasuke is like brother to him
I just wonder why didn't she recognize naruto's feelings towards sasuke?
Or could it be naruto himself didn't recognize his feelings for sasuke yet? That his feelings is romantic? I just don't understand this chapter 😂
A little question :
When do you think naruto actually understand / recognize his romantic feelings towards sasuke?
Also your arts are beautiful as always ❤️❤️
Hi nancy-8140 ! 💕 Hope you're well!
"Why did sasuke try to kill naruto here? I just don't understand it😅😅
And if Sai didn't stop him from killing naruto, sasuke would kill him?"
So, prior to this, Sasuke already has made it known that he felt like he needed to (not wanted to) cut his bond with Naruto. As long as Naruto is alive, that love (take it how you will) would get in the way of his goals. It makes him vulnerable because as he tried to explain to Genin Naruto who at the time didn't understand yet: "it hurts to lose someone you love." (In Sasuke's case.. many someones..) That's why only Naruto was the one he felt like he needed to kill, only Naruto was left and was "in the way".
Sasuke couldn't kill Naruto and didn't take the shortcut for power even though he could've. He looks broken, miserable and devastated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does this look like a boy who wants to kill Naruto to you?
Tumblr media
Instead he chooses to literally walk into the "darkness" (hey, I know some Sasuke fans hate this, but this is the visual the Manga gives us and well it's true in a way.. so just using it for that purpose) to train with a creepy Snake man he hates for years instead. Because doing so is another chance of gaining power but keeping Naruto alive. Indeed, that is Sasuke's way. Because Sasuke loves Naruto. And so what do you think will happen when he sees Naruto again after almost 3 years? When Sasuke learns that Naruto has been actively searching for him despite having his own dream. That Naruto has never given up on him?
Tumblr media
Naruto knows Sasuke couldn't do it and provokes him. Look at Sasuke's face. The Manga literally brings you back to that moment in VotE1 and Sasuke's memories. The true reason why Sasuke needed to kill Naruto, his closest friend, but can't. Because Sasuke loves Naruto.
Tumblr media
Kishimoto makes him glide down to hug Naruto close and even while holding him, pressed against his body (this sounds like fan fiction but it really isn't) they're being flirty in an odd way.
If Sasuke had wanted to kill Naruto for real he would've and Naruto didn't seem to stop him at the time either. Naruto's body apparently moved on its own to stop Sai from stabbing Sasuke instead.
Tumblr media
"Also in this chapter, sakura said for naruto, sasuke is like brother to him"
"I just wonder why didn't she recognize naruto's feelings towards sasuke?"
Oh I would love to one day write an essay about Kishimoto writing Sakura/Sai observing Naruto/Sasuke. Because there is something really interesting happening in this Chapter and then again after the Pain Arc when Sai is telling her that Naruto loves her so much even though he doesn't and she gets turned down by both Naruto and Sasuke. Then Sai is like a vessel from a readers perspective getting fed spoons of information and I've always wondered if he was a character inspired by a person Kishimoto knew irl. It seems to me Kishimoto really likes Sai (I do too) and he comes to understand their bond more and more but it's a bit frustrating that the earlier ignorance is what anti's grab and use as evidence yet ignore later development. Sakura and Sai love to bullshit each other yet Sai does it unknowingly. Sakura is manipulative, purposefully being ignorant if it means she can stay in Sasuke-kun la-la-land. Kishimoto is a genius writer. I'll fight anyone. I'm sorry if I sound vague, this just takes a bit longer. I've already made a post about her "knowing about SNS" but somehow my blog won't load? Idk maybe it's just my Tumblr. I'll edit this post if it works again I'm sorry ;-; Anyway, Sai confronted Naruto with this information and this was his answer:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sai confronted Sasuke with this information and this was his answer:
Tumblr media
And that is Kishimoto saying: Naruto and Sasuke are not brothers thank you very much.
"When do you think naruto actually understand / recognize his romantic feelings towards sasuke?"
I've always felt that their journeys until the end of the story are about exploration, development, figuring things out. I don't think there really, truly is a moment when there is an "okay now it is romantic"-epiphany. Because what would that mean? Kishimoto can't show us an "Oh shit I think I'm actually really in love with him" panel/scene like that shitshow Hinata-fans got and I'm happy we didn't lmao. Instead we get an entire love-story tbh and I'm okay with that. Maybe if I were to guess (and it would fit the story nicely) is when he turned down Sakura, called her out on her bullshit after he tossed and turned for a whole night thinking about Sasuke, found out the truth about the UCM, had a panic attack, begged for Sasuke's forgiveness and sobbed with his head buried in the snow in front of the Raikage, then set his resolve and felt so confident and resolute that he left his Hitai-ate, went to his own little space with Sasuke to confess how he felt about him and in the end told him he would bear his burdens and die with him. All the while looking content and peaceful regardless of what happened before that. ;-; Because Naruto loves Sasuke.
"Also your arts are beautiful as always ❤️❤️"
Thankyou so much!! I'm happy you like them 🧡🧡
Thoughts on naruto antis? I've seen a lot of sasuke stans hate on naruto, saying that he's barely better than sakura, and it always leaves me with such a bad taste in my mouth?
I'd never say that naruto and his ideals are beyond criticism, as dear as he is to me. That'd be foolish.
But it just. Rubs me the wrong way when naruto is made out to be some sort of horrible selfish bad guy that wanted to control sasuke
(im ignoring anything beyond chapter 699 for my sanity because both naruto and sasuke got seriously messed up after that im still horrified 😮‍💨😮‍💨)
i mean, people are allowed to anti as long as they anti away from the character tags and shit, so for antis themselves I don't really mind them lol. i do think they very badly misjudge his character, but i can understand them calling him a bootlicker and whatnot- especially with how they concluded the series. but naruto at his core has shown me that he's too ready to break rules for his own morals to truly be a konoha bootlicker.
from day one we see naruto undermining authority and rejecting the notion of leaving the people he loves behind for his village. when he chooses to side with the village, it's because he sees the village as all individual people that he cares about. he wants what's best for everyone, and he's determined to always find an outcome to make everyone happy, even if that notion is inherently idealistic and impossible to actually achieve in nature. but goddammit is he going to strive for it anyway, because that's what he views as right.
in the end, naruto's radical idealism is the perfect balance to sasuke's radical realism. I believe they both need each other to find the answer to the shinobi world's problems. sasuke had given up hope on the good in people while naruto is blind to the bad in them. both are one-dimensional ways to think of a person and lack the depth that people need to be truly understood.
i think the problem with naruto that i would agree with from antis lies in that last sentence's use of past and present tenses. sasuke HAD given up while naruto IS blind. we don't get to see naruto truly be balanced back out the way we saw happen with sasuke. that is a narrative mistake with the way kishimoto ended the series (and the way the sequel continued without acknowledging needed to happen). the series ends with sasuke realizing that ✨🦋🌸humanity is worth saving and even people who did bad things can still be good🌸🦋✨ without letting naruto truly see that some people are beyond saving and the ideals they hold should be eradicated before they infect more people. kishi chose to redeem nearly every single antagonist, choosing the final big boss to be some random bitch we weren't introduced to until the story's fucking eleventh hour. that he made an alien. so naruto didn't have to face his own morality because she wasn't human so like it's fine to lock her away for all eternity in a big fucking rock. so i get people who don't like naruto for being upset that we got to see sasuke's views be swayed by him without getting a truly satisfying parallel from naruto in turn that would justify sasuke's morals shifting.
anyways, as always, i blame shippuden's ending
Story based on the fanarts made by ALIAHH
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pinterest: @aliahh_h
Naruto enters in the Hokage's office and stops in front of Kakashi.
Naruto: Did you call for me?
Kakaski: Yes, Naruto!
Naruto: What is it?
Kakashi: It's about Hinata.
Naruto: Hinata?
Kakashi: Yes!
Naruto: What?
Kakashi: Look, Naruto. Many things happened while you were gone on your mission, alright?
Naruto gets confused and crosses his arms.
Naruto: Like what?
Kakashi: Hinata has gone crazy and we need your help to find her. She already killed many of us and betrayed Konoha. Even though she gets found, I can't promise you what is gonna happen to her.
Naruto: It's my wife you're talking about. Hinata would never do something like that!
Naruto gets angry now.
Kakashi: Naruto you're being irrational right now, think with your head, please.
Naruto: So, what? You want me to find my wife without knowing what is gonna be her destiny?!
Kakashi: Naruto, there are lots of things at stake here. We can't risk more bad things to happen. You better than anyone else knows that justice needs to be done.
Naruto: Yeah, but Hinata is not evil...she is kind and sweet. It's Hinata we are talking about here!
Kakashi: I know, Naruto! But, there aren't many things we can do for her. The village hates her now. You know that I'm not the only one responsible for Konoha. There are also others behind and they are not happy.
Naruto: So, screw them. Hinata is not evil and I'm gonna prove that. And even if she was now....I can change her mind.
Naruto was about to get out of Kakashi's office, but he turns around with a serious expression to say the last part he said. Then he gets out.
Kakashi: I hope you know what you are doing, Naruto.
Kakashi says serious and sighs while he puts his hands on his face.
.........................................................................................
Naruto searches for Hinata and finds no trace of her. Tired, he comes back to his house pretty sad. He turns his lampshade on. When he turns around, he almost screams. He sees Hinata in front of him using a black cloak.
Naruto: Hinata...
Hinata: Hello, Naruto!
Hinata says serious while she stares at Naruto.
Naruto: Please, tell me you are not evil.
Hinata: Unfortunately, it's true. I'm a traitor now.
Naruto: No! This can't be happening. This isn't you.
Naruto says frustrated.
Hinata: Well, it's really happening. So, get used to it, sweetie.
Hinata was about to leave, but Naruto intercepts her.
Naruto: Where are you going?
Naruto asks serious.
Hinata: None of your business
Hinata also says serious.
Naruto: Well, I won't let you go until you tell me.
Hinata: So, be it!
Hinata says angry and both start fighting and throwing things at each other. Naruto was hesitating to hurt Hinata, but she ends up punching his nose accidentally.
Naruto: Wow! That hurt!
Hinata: Well, you were the one who started it, trying to stop me.
Naruto: And here I thought you were sweet and kind.
Hinata: How can I be sweet and kind with people that hurt me?
Naruto: What?
Hinata: That's what you heard. I'm tired of people underestimating, offending, judging, torturing and hurting me. I grew up, Naruto. I'm not that naive stupid little girl anymore. This village always hated me. See?
Hinata shows the scars to Naruto that people did to her while she was hiding from them after betraying Konoha. Some were almost fatal. If Hinata didn't have good reflexes, she could have been killed. Seeing all the wounds on Hinata's body, Naruto starts getting angry a little bit showing his red eyes.
Hinata: Besides my family and friends, the worst wound to me was the one made by the person I trusted most.
Naruto: Who?
Hinata: You!
Naruto: Me?!
Hinata: Yes! All my life I did everything for you, even went against my friends and family, but you always thought about Sakura, even after my confession to you. I almost died fighting Pain because of you.
Naruto: Hinata...
Naruto starts tearing up.
Hinata: What kind of husband would trade your wife for others that never really cared about him when he was a child? I was the one that always looked after you, even before you became the hero. I saw all your flaws...and I like them. Did you forget how they used to treat you? As some kind of trash and monster. Now, you are joining them to defeat me. How could you?!
Naruto: Hinata, please...
Hinata: But, even though I'm angry at everyone else, I still can't hate you. You were the first person to be nice to me, just like I did with you. We could have had just each other and it would be perfect. We really only had each other anyway. All of your friends only got close to you out of pity.
Naruto: That's not true...
Hinata: Not true? So, tell me, Naruto. How many visits did you have when you were a child? Did people invite you to live with them? Did they give you money to buy food? Did someone deffend you from bullies? Did someone fought for you not caring if she or he died in the end?
Naruto: No...
Hinata: See? People here only want what is best for them. They do things for their own interests. All this time, they just took advantage of you...and you are still the naive boy as usual that believes them. How would you feel if they treated me in the same way too?
Naruto: I would hurt them pretty bad!
Naruto growls and shows his fangs.
Hinata: That's why I'm doing this, sweetie. It's for a better world. If I don't this, who will? Do you want to see more children suffer by people from Konoha?
Naruto shakes his head and Hinata nods, understanding his answer. She gets more close to him now.
Hinata: I cried for you...and I'll ride for you too. I almost died once and would do it again. But, would do the same for me?
Hinata touches Naruto's cheek now.
Hinata: Will you betray me too or is it gonna be me and you against the world? Tell me.... are you with me, Honey?
Hinata gives a dark smile to Naruto when he lets his dark side appear.
Do you know why in one databook of naruto Masashi Kishimoto said that the relationshio between orochimaru and anko was intense? And in what page of one of the databook he compares a tecnique like lovers suicide? For me, anko loves him since a long time and orochimaru too but when she grew up! ♡
Here's the link to the first source pace. The pages on Anko are 122-123, where her relationship with Orochimaru is described as intense/ very deep (depending on the translation, but it means the same thing). Page 206 is where the Twin Snakes Mutual Death/ Twin Snake Sacrifice jutsu is compared to a lover's suicide. Here's my post on that, where I cite Narutopedia as my source. I don't own it personally. I can only point to the online sources/ translations.
As to why Kishimoto said that, I can only give you an educated guess. So here goes, I can't see how Anko wouldn't have been in awe of him/ crushing on him big time when she was his student. He was a Sannin, he was still the favourite to succeed the 3rd Hokage at the time, he thought she had incredible potential- short of having a kekkei genkai (the Sharingan is the only reason he gives for Sasuke having more potential than her), the fact he accuses her of being jealous of Sasuke, his intelligence and how (though he held some stuff back) he taught her everything she knows, and how, despite everything, she still copies his behaivours. I mean, if she really hates him that much, you'd think she'd quit waving her tongue around like she idolises him. Not to mention, she still keeps the photo of the two of them together on her headboard. To have someone's photo be the first and last thing you look at each day, they have to be very dear to you. I think she feels a hell of a lot of guilt for the things he did, but he'll always be the only one who means the world to her. No one can take his place.
With Orochimaru, he must have seen her as his "pet." Recall when Sakon reveals his curse mark to Sasuke, he says, "Did you think you were Lord Orochimaru's only pet?" Pawns get experimented on like easily disposable lab rats. Curse marks are reserved for his most valuable pieces. And the Heaven's curse mark is the most powerful of them, which is why he risked it on Sasuke. I would also go further with the snake summoning contract. Orochimaru has (that we know of) initiated only three others into a pact with Ryuchi Cave. Those are Kabuto, his right-hand man; Sasuke, his ideal vessel; and Mitsuki, his child, whom he hopes will be the Moon who aides the Sun in saving the world during the next great conflict. That's a pretty exclusive group, and the snakes are not especially welcoming. He must've had a lot of faith in her and viewed her as a valued apprentice, not simply a student or subordinate. Also, in their team photo, it's just the two of them. She doesn't have teammates till the Chunin exams, when they're required. Jiraiya is not shown with only Minato, but two other students we never see or hear about again. It must've been the two of them for several years and she must've been very important to him. Otherwise, why would he bother?
I get the feeling that there was a Genji/ Murasaki element there (in The Tale of Genji, Murasaki is the young girl he abducts, educating her to be his ideal woman, and eventually marrying her. She remains devoted to him, despite his faithlessness, including a marriage to another woman. She tells him she wants to be nun, but he won't let her, and she dies soon after). Then there's the story that most likely influenced Anko's character and relationship with Orochimaru, The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya, which the Sannin are based on. Orochimaru is the master of snake magic. He is betrothed to a princess, but she becomes frightened of him as his villainous behaivour worsens. Jiraiya and Tsunade end up rescuing her.
Title: Special Delivery
Pairing: Hyuuga Hinata/Uchiha Sasuke
Rating: Teen
Summary: Hinata always had problems dealing with conflict. She avoided it at all costs. But when *he* catches her eye, she decides to throw caution to the wind and say “hi”.
Author’s note:  Hiya. Long time no read, I guess. It’s been five months since I posted anything, wip or not. Over a year since my last one-shot, and one month more than that since the last SasuHina. Time flies. ❤️ I’ve been trying to write what comes out. Exorcise my fanfiction burnout, so to speak. This one-shot is just a short rambly thing I wrote up so it’s only edited to the bare minimum and definitely not well thought out. Just a few low-key feels that I didn’t realise until it was done that I’d projected into it, introspectively. So yeah, Hinata’s my conduit and exorcism is a bitch. But, let’s hope it goes well. 😂 With all that said, enjoy. :)
Warnings/tags: Anxiety.
Mr Kurota has been her delivery man for a month now, since Yukina-san left the company.
Hinata had never known a man more forward with his affections . Raised in the Hyuuga household, she’d been subjected to many comments from older people on her appearance. Most of which were misogynistic in nature. It took her over a decade to process it all enough to come to that conclusion. To realise she’d bottled up hate against them. Something she still had trouble letting go.
But this man? She shuddered. He was a pervert, pure and simple. No skirting around it to pretend he was just concerned for her welfare. No backhanded compliments. Just straight, vile and depraved comments.
No, don’t think about that.
Hinata pressed her back against the wall of her apartment, her eyes on the door as the man knocked again.
Go away.
She took a deep breath and held it.
Just leave the package outside like you normally do and go .
She was beginning to think Ino was right. She should switch delivery companies. Or at least stop ordering from places that used them. Easier said than done, since she hated change almost as much as she despised confrontation.
She closed her eyes and waited. Normally he would call her name before grumbling and leaving the parcel in front of her door. He was currently standing outside the door, silently. She just wanted him to go .
Hinata never put her last name on the delivery note. The company asked for given and family names but she just put Hina for her first name and H. for the last name. The guy had her address but didn’t know her full name and her public persona was all set to private. And her apartment building had an excellent security force. High paid. Well trained. And there were cameras on every level. Her father would not have let her leave home without all the safety measures.
I’m fine.
No, she wasn’t fine. The anxiety built up in her body and she had to slap a hand on her mouth to keep from making any sound. It reached inside her and tore her throat out. Dread. Fear. Foreboding. She clasped her free hand around her own throat as the man knocked again.
Hinata tried not to hum, like she usually did. No weird noises of discomfort. She tried to be quiet . Draw no attention to herself.
Go away, go away. Please.
She couldn’t stand the feeling any longer. But a moment later, she heard the sound of his footsteps moving away from the door. The vignette of black splotches at the edge of her vision began to disappear and she inhaled a shaky breath. She gave herself a few minutes to calm down before moving her feet.
Hinata peered through her peephole.
He was definitely gone.
A hand on her heart as her accelerated pulse finally started to subside, Hinata opened the door to collect her package. She looked down, eyes going wide.
No.
He didn’t leave it by the door. Only a note to come collect it at the collection point.
Shit.
About an hour later she got a text telling her she could pick up her parcel the next day.
Hinata was in the middle of her online study when it came through. She put down her stylus pen and peered at her mobile phone, then let out a sigh of relief. The respite lasted for all of five seconds before she remembered this meant she was going to have to go down to the company, in person.
What if he’s there?
What if people look at her funny for not answering her door? Or worse yet, mention it ? Gods.
She tried to focus on her studies. She even went out with Ino for drinks that night to calm her nerves. But the hangover wasn’t worth it and by the time the next morning came, Hinata was still a wreck. She had no choice. There was no way to get them to try delivering again .
So she raised her chin in a faux show of confidence and marched down to the office.
Hinata cringed as the bell above the door chimed when she opened it. There were several other people in the office but none looked over at her. She sighed and took a deep breath.
“Hang on, darling!”
She cringed again, but the comment hadn’t been directed at her.
Still standing by the door, Hinata fumbled with her bag, uncertain. This delivery company only had two drivers: a middle-aged woman who could lift more weights than Hercules and the pervert . But when the man nearby who bore the Konoha Shipping Service insignia on the back of his shirt stepped up to reception, Hinata realised she’d never seen him before.
It wasn’t Mr Kurota.
It… wasn’t him .
Hinata blinked owlishly at the man. With dark hair and nonchalant posture, he was about her age, lean and very attractive. Aristocratic bone structure. The kind that would have her mother swooning and looking for a way to invite him over to Sunday brunch. Hinata could see him as someone her parents would try to foist on her.
This set the fire of her anxiety racing.
Hinata quickly stepped behind one of those tall potted plants as the man turned towards her and away from the receptionist. A very leafy Rubber Plant. She had to duck a bit but he didn’t see her. Hinata peered through the leaves and saw that he wasn’t even looking in her direction.
The receptionist was ogling him but he wasn’t leaning in. Wasn’t flirting back. His eyes on the clipboard in his hands, he seemed unconcerned about her attention. His brows furrowed, he seemed annoyed by something on his roster. A minute later, he was done brooding and strode out, not looking back.
Hinata waited for a breath after he left, chastising herself, before heading to the reception.
“Hi, honey,” the woman cooed. She was about the age of Hinata’s mother. All smiles. Very forward as she scrutinised the shy woman in front of her. “Here to pick up a parcel?”
Hinata nodded and handed over the appropriate document, her thoughts still stuck on the handsome stranger.
“Well it’s bad luck for you that you weren’t home to pick it up,” the receptionist was saying. Musabi, her name tag said. “The new driver is a sight better looking than the last.”
Hinata nodded politely even as she internally screamed for the woman to hurry up.
“The other one’s out with the flu,” Musabi continued, “and we finally got rid of the old man, so we’ve just had the one driver this week. He’s such a looker!” She gushed. “If I were only fifty years younger!”
So this meant her panic attack was for nothing? Hinata fought the frown pushing its way onto her face. No. She’d have panicked anyway. Just in a very different way.
“Here you go, dear.”
Hinata bowed respectfully and took her parcel without a word. It might have been rude but she’d used up her quota for the day. As she left, she considered going to that Sushi and Ramen Drive Thru nearby before heading home.
And still, the mysterious stranger lingered on her mind. She suddenly wished she hadn’t hidden behind that plant, but it was a non-issue. It was done. At least she could finally relax.
Besides, what was she supposed to say, “sorry I missed you at my home but I was hiding behind the door and wishing for you to leave, thinking you were someone else, but now I see you’re hot so let’s get coffee”?
She smiled at the silliness of it all. But maybe I can answer the door next time .
Maybe.
Hinata didn’t have much time to think about that delivery guy in the following week. She was bogged down in her online art studies and distracted by her friends who were the only things pushing her to go out these days. Other than work.
Ah, work. Her five days a week, three hour shifts data entry job. She was very good at it. But it bored her to tears. Her father would be disappointed.
She didn’t shop much, but it was always online where she could make it work. It was almost two weeks after her waste-of-a-time anxiety attack when Hinata’s next package was due. And this was a little more important than her matcha tea and a few beauty products.
She waited for delivery like a nervous hen.
Because no matter what her cousin Neji said, she wasn’t interested in being a coward. (Though he’d worded it more politely than that.) She wanted something… more.
She just wanted to say hi.
Hinata read and reread the text on her phone saying the parcel was being dropped off that morning. But this time, despite the nerves fluttering up in her chest, she was feeling okay. Focused on her course assessment, she only allowed herself a light smile as she worked.
It was an hour before the knock startled her out of her immersion.
And panic set in.
Shaking, she set her stylus again and tried to remember it wasn’t the pervert this time. He’d been fired, from the sounds of it. And the middle-aged weight lifting woman wasn’t a bother, even if a bit loud. But she was hoping the handsome stranger had picked up the delivery route of Mr Kurota.
Hinata had no explanation for her weird expectations. She just wanted to say hi?
Why?
To prove she could? Or because she was hoping for something else? The last man she liked on sight had turned out to be a bit more on the loud and obnoxious side. She’d persevered through the relationship but it had left her battered and exhausted most of the time. It hadn’t been his fault she’d had to let him go.
I need to answer the door.
She needed to do this. If for no reason other than she could. The stranger was irrelevant in that context.
Hinata wrapped her hand around the doorknob and paused for a moment. Breathe. In. Out. She turned it, imagining suddenly the look on the man on the other side. Was he surprised? Bored? Uninterested? Kind of annoyed?
As it turned out, he wasn’t even looking at her. He’d dropped his eyes to the parcel in his hands for a moment, like he was double-checking the address. Then he looked up at her and shifted his slouching posture into a more dominant one and bowed lightly. It must be company policy to do so, since she’d seen him blatantly ignore the receptionist, Musabi.
But he was exactly how she remembered him.
The man watched her intensely. A light blush was creeping up his cheeks and she wondered if he’d forgotten how to say hello.
Hinata blinked. And after a few tries, she finally got the word out. “Hi.”
He seemed to relax as he smiled. It wasn’t a huge, wide “let’s be great friends smile”. It was professional and courteous. But the corner of his mouth twisted almost imperceptibly into a hidden smirk.
“Hi,” he said, and she felt a jolt of something shocking but pleasant ripple through her body.
“Hi,” she repeated unthinkingly. Hinata felt her face heat up in embarrassment.
His gaze flickered down over her body quickly then back to her face. Unobtrusive. Observant. But not lingering. And maybe a little calculating.
“Package for Hina?”
“Hinata.”
He quirked an eyebrow and she flushed again. She probably resembled a tomato at this point.
“My-my name’s Hinata.” She had no idea why she was telling him.
“Hinata.” He rolled her name over his tongue and her eyes dropped to the movement as he licked his lips.
Hinata cleared her throat.
He just smiled. This one reached his eyes. He handed the package out to her. “I’m Sasuke.”
She nodded, now looking down at the box in his hand. Their fingers brushed as she grabbed the edge of the parcel. It was her new Touch Tablet. Her current one was over five years old and she’d finally accepted her need to upgrade. It would also make her upcoming assessments a breeze.
Hinata hesitated, catching Sasuke’s eyes as he stared into her soul. She had no idea eyes could do that.
He leaned casually against her door jamb and crossed his arms over his chest. “You busy right now?”
Yes.
She had a tonne of work to do. But Hinata shook her head.
What am I doing?
She was just supposed to prove to herself she could say hi to him, right? He wasn’t the pervert. Her anxiety could take a hike.
Sasuke cocked his head in the direction of the elevators. “There’s a cafe downstairs that I’ve been wanting to try out. Their Okaka comes with tomatoes.”
A light tinge of pink highlighted his face and Hinata blinked heavily, her brain finally working. “Aren’t you working right now?”
He shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets. His sudden shyness was cute. She couldn’t help but smile. “I can take a lunch break for an hour. You want to join me? No pressure.”
“Okay?”
He let out a deep breath. “Okay?”
Hinata nodded. “I’ll grab my purse.”
Sasuke smirked. “We’re just going downstairs.”
She felt a rush of confidence. “It’s my treat.”
He argued with her over it as they took the elevators. He’d asked her out. He should pay. Hinata would ultimately let him do it, but it was nice to meet a guy who held true to etiquette.
And just like that, he’d chased her nerves away. For an hour.
Now she had to worry how their next date would go.
But I can do this.
While Narusasu will always be my otp, if I had to choose for Sasuke to end up with a woman, I would've picked Hinata over Sakura. Yes, it's true they never really interacted. However, there is a lot of potential.
Hinata lost Neji while Sasuke lost Itachi. The two of them could've met at the graveyard, and bonded knowing there's someone out there who understands what they are going through. Hinata was never shown to have a grudge against Sasuke for everything he has done, and she was also never one of his obsessive fangirls so he'd be more open to talking to her than other women. Hinata is the head of her clan yet is not as strong as Neji was or her younger sister Hanabi, so perhaps Sasuke would help train her. Hinata would be calm and easy to talk to, allowing Sasuke to feel comfortable and maybe even open up to her after awhile. As time passed, he'd think "what was the dope thinking ignoring a beautiful and strong woman like this?" and that's when he'd realize there was more to his feelings, and start suppressing them, because how could someone so good possibly love him? Meanwhile, Hinata would realize she was thinking about Sasuke way more than Naruto and enjoying the time she spent with him. She'd also grow protective and hate when her friends hate on him for having been a traitor, and they'd point this out to her, making her realize how much she truly loves him.
Now I'll address the elephant in the room; Naruto Uzumaki. Hinata confessed to Naruto, however he never addressed those feelings, or showed signs of returning them. Hinata felt awkward, and didn't confront him. However, Sasuke eventually convinced Naruto to stand up because he hated watching Hinata be sad over this unrequited love. Naruto admits he was never in love with Hinata and viewed her as a friend, but has feelings for Sakura, and never confessed because she still loved Sasuke. Sasuke says he does not love Sakura and convinces Naruto to consider confessing to her. Naruto agrees, and apologizes to Hinata for not being in love with her, and hopes for her to find someone who makes her happy. Hinata is sad the man she loved rejected her, but says "Ok" with a smile on her face, and tells Naruto to do the same. Sasuke is there for Hinata as she cries, and resents his best friend for making her cry, but realizes he is just as guilty for how he treated Sakura, making him resolve to finally end her delusions of falling for him. He eventually does confront Sakura, which results in her punching him in the face for all the pain he ever caused her, then running away. She later on apologizes for this, but he forgives her, because he knows he did more than enough to deserve it. Things stop being weird between them, and two eventually start becoming friends. Naruto eventually confesses to Sakura, and the two later on reveal to Sasuke and Hinata that they are together.
Hinata and Sasuke would grow closer overtime. The two would be hesitant at first; Sasuke didn't know how to love while Hinata was afraid her new love would be doomed like her previous. Sasuke felt like he didn't deserve Hinata, and Hinata was afraid to get too close. They grieved together, and started healing together. Eventually, the boundaries between them began to close. Hinata's happy someone returns her feelings while Sasuke doesn't have to keep his walls up around someone for a change. The two are inseparable, and other people are starting to notice.
Many villagers would not approve of their relationship- at least at first. For starters, Sasuke would really have to prove himself, because the Hyuuga would not want a traitor marrying into the family. They would eventually consider it, because the idea of a Hyuuga/Uchiha child would be really appealing. They will also notice how Sasuke has been a good influence on Hinata, and that she has grown stronger because of him, which redeems him in their eyes. Hinata may not marry Naruto which would've been preferable because of his Hokage status, but she married a strong and capable man who helped her become strong and confident as opposed to weak and shy like she once was and If they had any children, they would certainly become the most powerful in the village. As for the general citizens, they would not be trusting of Sasuke at first, but Hinata would help appease them, especially since the marriage would be willing and not arranged. How could Sasuke Uchiha be a monster if someone as lovable as Hinata Hyuuga loved him and was happy by his side?
The two eventually get married, and have a child. Their child grows up to be one of the most powerful ninjas the village has seen in centuries, and restores honor to the Uchiha name while leaving a good legacy behind for the Hyuuga. As parents, Hinata is kind and encouraging while Sasuke is quiet but guiding. The child would be judged for being an Uchiha but praised for his Hyuuga side, and their goal would be to make everyone accept both parts of their bloodline. Sasuke would eventually advise them on the Uchiha clans past failures and do his best to ensure his child never falls to the darkness while ensuring they had parents to come home to. Hinata would do her best to help them become a leader, and ensure they knew how to be strong when it counted most, but also kind to those around them.
Sharing the sharingan:
Itachi being like “huh, what? You just told me to kill all the Uchiha’s Mr.Danzo. And this piece of paper clearly says that man is NOT an Uchiha. You’d think the shadow hokage would know how to fucking read.”
What to do when your teammate uses you to commit suicide (a self help guide for the lost, confused, and used)
the book is blank because hey it’s a first for me too kid.
An Uchiha who turns to love rather than hate.
Them taking care of Sakumo’s body and cleaning the blood off kakashi :’(
ACE/ARO REP BITCHESSSSS
Kakshi double fisting a weirdly accurate self help book and pure smut while white knuckling his mental health.
Two bros chilling in a one room apartment with a hoard of semi-adopted kids co-writing porn for their little brother’s mental health because they’re not gay
ADHD Hyuga 0-0
Naruto buying Kabuto and scaring him with his teeth cuz he won’t go to any other healer but the Uchiha
“Destroy eyes” pact now including one traumatized dog man
May the lord have mercy on your insignificant soul because I swear to god if I ever see your bitch ass again I will not.
Gordon Uchiha
As much as it hurts to see the light come for his pups he’s so fucking glad they get to live another day, get to break the cycle of the Hatakes (because they are all Hatakes no matter what clans two of them were born into) dying young.
*sniffle*^^^^^
Big Lap Dog problem where the pups grew bigger and Sakumo did not as he is dead, so where two scrawny teenagers and an actual toddler never knocked Sakumo over three ANBU who have long since grown out of the gangliness of youth and have spent years packing on muscle through training very much do.
But you are incredibly correct imagining them as different heights is somehow deeply upsetting and they have to be the exact same height for Reasons
The three friend killers. With phantom blood of enemies and once allies forever staining their hands. The three remaining sharingan users. All of them with a flee on sight status in most bingo books. All of them cuddling in the nearly empty lounge.
The Uchiha: oh yeah…sorry I called you a bitch. The Hyuga: it’s fine. I am a bitch.
So when she knows she can't escape (She was never going to beat them, they have always been better than her no matter how hard she tried) she decides to just.... let their jutsu hit her. To die by her brothers hands is probably the best end she could hope for.
She stands back from the fire at first when the boys finally meet them (too soon. Far too soon) but kakashi spots her in the dark just like he always had. And what chance did she have not to be buried under the weight of her brothers (what were they all eating that they had gotten so damn tall.
one soul in two bodies, the closest someone could be to another person without cracking their chest open to crawl inside (she wondered one day if one of them would. Would take that final step to rejoin their hearts until they were one whole being again.) they had taken different approaches to the hatred
Seeing two Byakugan split between two faces. Knowing that the eyes once called the true heart of a dojutsu user were swapped between the two in actuality.
Sasuke constantly stuck in a game of catch-up he never seems to win. Chasing after distant goals and figures he can barely see, let alone match.
The third teammate in sharing the Sharingan: “But she’s still the outsider, she doesn’t share their strange pack mentality…”. Me: it’s the neurodivergence babe.
Hey, in regards to one of your latest posts when you talk about what Sakura meant to Sasuke in their genin days, you said Sasuke was only tolerant and apathetic to her. I'm not a sasusaku shipper and I don't mean to be THAT person... but Sasuke definitely cared for Sakura before, as a precious comrade even.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
😑
You mean this post?
Read it again. I have clearly mentioned that he did care for her as a comrade in part one. But only as a comrade. I have always maintained it. Because it is true. I even included the panel which you yourself have attached to this ask. I also said he was at best tolerant and at worse apathetic to her in the manga and not just part one. Which he was.
Do you guys just skim over content and read only what you want to read or what? And gloss over the rest?
In fact I clearly mentioned that he protected her during the Gaara retrieval arc even if she was finally rescued by Naruto since Sasuke was out of chakra. Since you have used that panel. I also mentioned that he protected her against Zaku, that he acts so aggressively is because he was under the curse mark's influence. You have also used that panel.
What's the point of using these panels in your ask when I talked about almost all of them in the post?
My stress was on the fact that he never considered her family. He only ever thought of Sakura in his flashbacks as a part of team seven and never exclusively her. But he thought of Naruto exclusively. Many times. I was obviously drawing a comparison. I also said Sasuke tolerates Sakura (her dumbassery and insensitivity ie) because he is a kind boy and he keeps hoping Sakura would change and be better. But she never does. Why do you think it was so easy for him to break his bonds off with Sakura and Kakashi but not Naruto? Why would he say - I knew it, you would never change?
Which is something I also mentioned in the same post?
Can you deny all those other moments I mentioned in the post? Did they not happen? What impression do they give you? The import of the post was that Sasuke wasn't close to her. He doesn't talk with her, doesn't tell her anything, never says a word, it's like he hates her. (I also mentioned he doesn't hate her, that's too strong an emotion, he simply doesn't feel much for her). And this is said by Sakura herself, like I mentioned IN THE SAME POST. Can you deny that?
And consider Sasuke's own personality traits. He is a person who appreciates courage, determination, honest hard work, self worth, and a strong belief system for the right reasons. Like all the reasons he appreciates Naruto for.
Tumblr media
Where do you see Sakura have these qualities? If he liked her more than as a comrade, what would be the reasons for that? He clearly has reasons to like Naruto, as we see in his flashback when he is dying. No Sakura. So is Sakura that important to him? What do you think?
I suggest next time don't get so fired up to leave an ask for me and actually read what I write.
Thinking of him
Guys, english is not my main language, but I'm in love with fics and I want to share them with you. Hope you like it ♡
Anime : Naruto Shippuden
Pairings : Gaara X Reader
Genre : Cute, Sfw
Summary : When your best friend Tenten has caught you drawing stars, hearts and rainbows on the back of the notebook, and she's sure you have a crush on someone.
Tumblr media
You had no idea what Guy Sensei was talking about. He was explaining the technique that Neji was learning lately, but you were too concerned to think about your last missions. You never knew why Kakashi sent you on those missions, but you knew that you had started feeling some things you could not escape from.
You knew that he was not that type, and that what you feel is in vain. But who knows what the future could hide, right ? Maybe he would get to know you and feel the same. Maybe he doesn't catch feelings as fast as your naive heart. But one thing you knew. You didn't want the past to repeat, when you gave up fighting for the person you loved, just because you thought you would not solve anything. So this time you decided to fight. For your feelings.
But you could not stop poking small drawings on the back of the notebook. It was like an animated diary of your emotions. You had a red pencil in your hand, because you wanted to see him again. There were many obstacles that prevented you. The distance between villages, the fact that he is a Kazekage and probably has a lot of work. You knew it was a rigid type, and it does not show its feelings, always wearing the same expression on the face. You cannot decipher it, but something about him fascinates you that you cannot stop your thoughts.
You imagined how his hair of such a special colour was worn by the wind, how you lost yourself in his eyes that were so deep. All of his features fascinated you, and made your cheeks look exactly like his hair.
"Y/n, when do you have to talk to me ?" Tenten had put her hands in her hips, while standing in front of you. You supported your back from the hard bark of a tree.
"Uhm, I don't know what you are talking about" you are trying to get rid of her questions with the most classic reply. But you were 90% sure it would not work.
"Come on, you have been doing this for weeks. You cannot lie to me. I saw what was behind the notebook. I am your best friend" she now sits on the grass next to you, leaving Guy, Lee and Neji to continue the training.
You decide that it might be time for Tenten to know your secret, but at the same time you knew why you did not want to tell her. You knew that she would say that Gaara is not a guy you could feel like this for. And she will remember you what he has done in the past, and that he is too harsh and cold to give back what you want to show him. Love. Show him that somebody cares about him.
But you didn't want to give up. You didn't want to repeat the mistake.
"Tenten... I don't know what you're gonna say about it. I always wanted to tell you, I swear, but I couldn't. I thought you would say that it was stupid" her face was worried. She probably doesn't expect that, thinks you fell for a common friend between you and her.
"You can tell me anything. Come on, Y/n" your friend tries to smile but your face gets a shade of pink.
"I like a guy" Tenten looks at you with some bright eyes, but she will probably be disappointed when she finds out who you were talking about. She always thought you liked Neji. "No, Tenten, I don't think you'll be happy because I like a guy you hated a few years ago"
"Why ?"
"Because it ruined Lee's life" you say while your stomach is loaded with dozens of emotions. But Gaara has changed since then. You saw that on the missions you had together.
