people who go through the main tags of big and tumultuous fandoms looking for new fresh good posts to reblog are essential to any circle. they’re like true hunter gatherers leaving the safety of settlement and braving the unknown wilderness to find food for the flock. they risk their lives every day and will come back with a few scratches at best and severe psychological damage at worst

The Power of Personal Narratives: Why Your Story Matters
In the vast tapestry of human existence, each individual weaves a unique narrative—a story that is distinctly their own. Our lives are a collection of experiences, emotions, and lessons that form the very fabric of our being. As we navigate the intricacies of existence, it's essential to recognize the profound impact that personal narratives can have on both individuals and society as a whole.
Tumblr media
The Elements of a Story: Crafting the Narrative of Your Life
At the core of every compelling narrative are key elements that give shape and meaning to the story. These elements, such as characters, plot, setting, and conflict, are not exclusive to works of fiction; they are the building blocks of our personal narratives as well. Our lives unfold through a series of events, with each moment contributing to the development of our unique story.
Characters in our personal narratives extend beyond ourselves—they include family, friends, mentors, and even the strangers whose paths intersect with ours. The plot is the sequence of events that shape our journey, from the challenges that test our resilience to the triumphs that bring us joy. The setting is the backdrop against which our stories unfold, encompassing the places we've been and the environments that have left an indelible mark on us. Conflict, whether internal or external, adds depth and complexity to our narratives, propelling us forward on our quest for self-discovery.
Understanding the elements of a story allows us to appreciate the richness of our own narratives. It empowers us to reflect on the chapters of our lives, recognizing the significance of every twist and turn in the grand tale we are writing.
The Impact of Personal Narratives on Individuals
Personal narratives hold the power to shape our identities, influencing how we perceive ourselves and how others perceive us. When we share our stories, we invite others into our world, fostering a sense of empathy and understanding. The challenges we've overcome, the lessons we've learned, and the moments of triumph all contribute to the mosaic of our lives.
Sharing our personal narratives can be a cathartic experience. It allows us to externalize our thoughts and emotions, providing clarity and perspective. Through storytelling, individuals often find solace, healing, and a sense of closure. Personal narratives become a tool for self-reflection and growth, enabling us to navigate the complexities of our inner worlds.
Moreover, personal narratives have the power to inspire. When we share our stories of resilience, vulnerability, and triumph, we create a ripple effect that resonates with others facing similar struggles. Our narratives become beacons of hope, reminding others that they are not alone in their journey.
The Collective Impact: Personal Narratives and Society
Beyond the individual level, personal narratives play a pivotal role in shaping the collective consciousness of society. When diverse voices contribute to the narrative landscape, a more comprehensive and inclusive understanding of the human experience emerges. Personal narratives become a bridge that connects people across cultures, generations, and backgrounds.
The sharing of personal narratives can challenge societal norms and foster conversations about change. It has the power to break down stereotypes, dismantle prejudices, and build bridges of understanding. In this way, personal narratives become catalysts for social progress, encouraging empathy and dismantling barriers that hinder authentic connection.
In Conclusion: Your Stories Matter, and History Chip Celebrates!
As we celebrate the International Your Stories Matter Month this December, it is an opportune time to reflect on the significance of personal narratives. Each story is a unique thread contributing to the rich tapestry of human history. It is a reminder that every individual, regardless of background or circumstance, has a story worth telling.
In conclusion, I invite you to consider the impact of your own personal narrative and the potential it holds to inspire, connect, and effect change. As we navigate the complexities of life, let us embrace the power of storytelling and recognize that our stories matter. They matter to us, to those around us, and to the broader tapestry of human history.
In the spirit of celebrating personal narratives, I encourage you to share your story at History Chip, a platform dedicated to preserving and honoring individual narratives. Your story is a valuable contribution to the collective history of humanity. Through History Chip, let us amplify the voices that shape our world, one personal narrative at a time.

Some years ago I was having lunch with my nana at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It’s important to know for the sake of this story that my nana is a little old Mexican lady who nevertheless mistrusts everyone except white people. We were having a nice time, chatting and eating.
Then midway through the meal she leaned in close and said, “Sometimes… do you think they reuse the rice to make rolls?”
I turned to her in surprise and said, “No, why would you think that?”
“Well,” she said, “You know… those people never like to waste anything.”
We stared at each other across the yawning chasm of her previous statement and finally I managed, “Nana, that’s racist.”
“It is?”
“Yes. It is. Not all Asian people behave the same, and assuming they do is racist. Just like not all Mexican people are the same.”
She looked down at her meal, nonplussed, and I realized that her actual fear of spoiled food hadn’t been addressed.
I sighed and added, “You know, restaurants all get inspected by health inspectors and have to maintain certain codes. And the health inspector is probably also racist, which means non white businesses have to be even more careful. So the rice will always be fresh.”
She brightened immediately. “That’s true!” She ate another roll, secure in the knowledge that racism would keep her food safe.
Then she said, “I could be a health inspector!” and I nearly choked.

We drove across the state today to set up a photo frame device for my aunt, and introduce her to Bug. While we were there, we took her and her bf to dinner across the street from her complex, and my mom texted to ask how we'd gotten my aunt over, since we're in my dad's fuckoff big truck and she's not able to climb into it. My dad texted back that he just tied a tow cable to her wheelchair and drove over, and my mom texted me to find out the truth but

My aunt laughed until she wheezed and told us to stop being so mean to her sister, but when we got back to her apartment:

Danny Phantom was not used to fighting magic users. Ghosts, yes. But humans with powers? No.
So when a cult managed to successfully summon and bind him, he lacked the knowledge of how to stop them.
And they tore him apart.
His core was broken into pieces, each one then implanted into one of the most loyal cult members (or potentially sold off to another person to use…) to grant them a portion of Phantom’s many powers.
However, the cult didn’t entirely know what they were doing either. You see, it turns out that shattering Danny’s core in that manner didn’t truly end him. His soul still persisted, still refused to die even as it was trapped amongst the disparate shards. Though each individual piece lacked the strength of mind or power to affect their hosts, they would gradually forge themselves together anew should they ever be gathered back together.
And after Red Hood killed several of the cult’s members, that process began. Their shards, now freed, transferred to the vigilante, instinctively latching onto his proto-core. Though still not yet whole enough to form a truly conscious fragment of Danny, they are enough to start to nudge Hood in the right direction (bolstered in effectiveness by Jason’s connection to death)
Jason can feel it deep within his soul. There’s something more to this cult’s powers than just normal magic, and he has a growing need to find out what that is. To stop them. To burn them all down and dig their secrets from the ashes.

I think queer stories would be better if people stopped assuming that queer representation hinges on if two characters are romantically involved at all. Like the moment you accept characters as being queer without needing romance to prove said queerness then i think we'd find ourselves with a lot more unique, nuanced, and interesting queer stories. but by limiting queerness to only romance you are stifling queer stories.

I've been doing a lot of reflection as of late, especially after this past class.
This past class was about the Torah and Tanakh in general, and the way the rabbi talked about the commandments (specifically the ten commandments) has made me really reflect on how I interpret them, specifically the fifth commandment, or honoring your mother and father.
This is a commandment I have wrestled with for a long time - in fact, it brought me away from g-d at multiple times. I was severely abused when I was incredibly young by my mother, and I used to feel insulted at the implication that I were to honor her while she got to live a better life. It was hypocritical, in my eyes.
But this rabbi surmised that this particular commandment was because parenthood is an act of creation, something that is like the g-d from which we come from. My realization is this: I don't think we're necessarily meant to take even these commandments literally.
I this particular commandment is more of a call to honor creation - creation is a gift, and like any gift, many people simply will not like it and will discard it. The person who abused me created me, but she did not honor creation. She didn't honor me, but I can still honor it.
I have started to honor creation much more. I'm too young, too unstable, not mature enough to be a father (though I fantasize about it), but I create all the time. I create relationships, I create with my hands through crochet. I create memories, I create my world. And I can honor who I am and where I came from that made me who I am. I've been learning one of the mother tongues of my family (Italian, since part of my family originates there) and it was judaism that inspired me to do this.
I don't think g-d wants me to honor my abuser. I think He wants me to remember the Holy action of creation. When I am a father, that act of creation will be Holy, and indeed, I am already joyful about the thought.
I have seen many people struggle with this particular commandment, but I think this perspective helps me personally. I don't think I ever have to forgive my abusers (plural), and I don't think I am commanded to simply because they happened to be family. I am commanded to recognize the holy, to elevate the mundane. In doing so, I will remember g-d. Through creation, I honor g-d and everything he has done for us, for me, and for our collective people.
#jumblr#jew by choice#jewish conversion#personal thoughts tag#abuse tw#i am not sharing this for the sake of pity and i also ask not to be told to divulge my abuse story. that isn't relevant#i have been needing to engage with this topic for a long time though and judaism has helped me a bit in navigating healing#but i decided to share this publicly in the hopes it will help other survivors specifically of familial/parental abuse#i know how it feels (in general). it's so lonely and you can really harbor (understandable) baggage about this particular commandment#i have a meeting with My Rabbi (sponsoring rabbi) and i might bring this up. we've only spoken once face-to-face (zoom)#so that might be really Intense to bring up to him but he is very kind and i trust him (which is why he is My Rabbi)#and he has already told me that he WANTS me to wrestle with g-d and His word *with* him#again i am posting this publicly so i can document my thoughts and keep them straight but also with the hope it MIGHT help others#if it even *casually* inspires another survivor i will feel so grateful (though it is THEIR achievement and not mine to claim)#i want us to survive. i want us to eat well. i want us to smile#i will say that this must be a very sudden whiplash in tone from my last post about sex. from sex to awful horrific abuse#my stream of consciousness is just Like This though in the sense that i have very sudden realizations and tonal whiplashes#so you're just getting a very frank look into how my brain is structured and what my brain thinks are important enough to think about#if i seem much more verbose it's because i needed to write this on my laptop which makes typing and more importantly yapping even *easier*

if you have internalized guilt about hoarding, using neopronouns, xenogenders, microlabels as a whole, or for just being queer:
i love you.
i love you with all my heart; whether you're in an / were raised in an unsupportive environment, whether your friends wouldn't be supportive, whether you simply feel like a faker for identifying the way you do: i love you.
you're cared about. there will be people who accept you, and love you, and care about you — not in spite of your identity — no matter how you identify. you are not dirty, you are not a faker, you are not hurting the community for identifying the way you do.
you use a select few microlabels because those describe your identity well enough? that's great! you use an umbrella label because you don't feel the need for a hyperspecific one? awesome, i do too depending on the part of my identity! you hoard tons & tons of labels because your identity is so vast and / or complicated it can't be described in one or two? i have an entire google docs hoard!
i get sappy and emotional at this topic.
because, when i first started identifying with liomogai terms, hoarding labels & npts: my friend group at the time hated it. they made fun of me behind my back, deadnamed, mispronouned & misgendered me, and refused to tell me why they were acting like this.
i realized i didn't deserve to be treated that way — no matter how much i cared about those people, or how much they claimed to care about me. and, even if i got out of those friendships, i still deal with the internalized guilt today.
the guilt that maybe i am faking. or that i'm doing something wrong — no matter how happy microlabels make me, or how comfortable i feel in my identity, or how much fun i'm having in the community. that i'm inherently wrong for being queer in the 'wrong' way.
i hoarded unapologetically for the first time in months last night. i had fun.
so, what i'm trying to say is: you're going to be okay, because you are loved & there is nothing wrong with you for identifying the way you do. being queer is amazing & beautiful & filled with such vast experiences that i'm a firm believer in there is no wrong way to be queer. i love you, and everything's going to be okay.

OC lineup! All the characters that currently exist in this "story"
#oeyä ayskxawngtsyìp#some small details may be subject to change#others might also be added to the “story” later#for example a while ago I was thinking maybe Rolukx and Se'txelu also have a sister because why not#tentatively named her Mingal and she'd be a teenager in the default timeline#(for reference at that time Se'txelu and Neynari are in their early 20s and Rolukx in his late 20s)#but she doesn't have a particular design yet and I haven't decided on many details#me being me i will also prooooobably give Neynari and Se'txelu some kids of their own at some point but again so specific ideas just yet#maybe even give rolukx a love interest#for personal reasons i can't decide whether it would be more cathartic to give him one or to not give him one#idk we'll see#also btw since this is chibi style don't take it as a 100% accurate height comparison lol#fwiw on that front I think Seylana and Neynari are a bit shorter than average#Rolukx is slightly taller than average#and everyone else is pretty solidly Average™ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#also for those who didn't catch it in my previous post about these guys: Awlun is Lunaya's aunt (Awlun's brother is Lunaya's father)#hence the shared surname#also Seylana is not naturally blond; she started coloring her hair after Neynari was born to match her daughter#(there are canon Aranahe characters with hair like this such as Sa'nop and Nilngan)#(and yes I suspect it's artifical color because the tail tufts are still black. hence Seylana's tail tuft still being her natural color too#ANYWAYS#yeah#my art#neynari#se'txelu#rolukx#seylana#vontxu#awlun#lunaya

Crafting Unforgettable Narratives: The Art of Compelling Storytelling
In the vast realm of literature and beyond, the ability to weave a compelling narrative is an art form that captivates hearts and minds. From timeless classics to modern masterpieces, the magic lies in the storyteller's ability to craft a tale that resonates deeply with the audience. This blog explores the techniques and tips that elevate storytelling to an art, making narratives not just stories but immersive experiences.
Tumblr media
Elements of Your Story: The Building Blocks of Compelling Narratives
At the heart of every great story are its elemental components, much like the ingredients that contribute to a chef's masterpiece. Characters, plot, setting, and theme form the foundational elements that shape the narrative landscape.
Characters breathe life into the story, creating relatable figures that readers can invest in emotionally. These characters should be multidimensional, with strengths and flaws that make them human. A well-crafted protagonist, antagonist, and supporting cast contribute to a dynamic and engaging narrative.
The plot, akin to a roadmap, guides readers through the journey. It introduces conflict, builds tension, and resolves in a satisfying conclusion. A well-paced plot keeps readers hooked, turning pages eagerly to discover what happens next.
The setting establishes the backdrop against which the story unfolds. Whether a bustling metropolis, a quaint village, or a fantastical realm, the setting contributes to the atmosphere and influences the characters' experiences. Don’t forget to add all the Elements of a story.
Themes add depth and meaning to the narrative, addressing universal truths and human experiences. Themes such as love, loss, and resilience resonate with readers, creating a connection that transcends the fictional realm.
Story Structure: Building a Foundation for Engagement
An essential aspect of compelling storytelling is a well-defined creative story structure. The narrative arc, comprising exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution, provides a roadmap for a satisfying and emotionally resonant story.
Exposition sets the stage, introducing the characters, setting, and initial conflict. It establishes the foundation for the reader's journey, creating a sense of time and place.
Rising action builds tension and develops the plot, drawing readers deeper into the narrative. This phase introduces obstacles, challenges, and pivotal moments that propel the story forward.
The climax is the narrative's peak, the moment of greatest tension and revelation. It is the point at which the central conflict reaches its zenith, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.
Falling action eases the tension, addressing the aftermath of the climax and preparing for resolution. Loose ends are tied up, and the story's trajectory becomes clear.
Resolution provides closure, offering readers a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. It answers lingering questions and completes the narrative arc, leaving a lasting impact.
Perfecting the Art: Tips for Crafting Captivating Narratives
1. Create Relatable Characters:
   - Develop characters with depth, flaws, and motivations. Readers should be able to empathize with their struggles and triumphs.
2. Master the Art of Descriptive Writing:
   - Use vivid and evocative language to paint a picture of the setting. Engage the senses to immerse readers in the world you've created.
3. Build Tension Strategically:
   - Introduce conflict early on and escalate it gradually. Keep readers invested by maintaining a delicate balance between anticipation and resolution.
4. Show, Don't Tell:
   - Allow readers to experience the story through action, dialogue, and sensory details rather than simply telling them what is happening.
5. Craft Memorable Dialogue:
   - Dialogue should be authentic and contribute to character development. It serves as a powerful tool for revealing personalities and advancing the plot.
6. Embrace the Element of Surprise:
   - Introduce unexpected twists and turns to keep readers guessing. Surprise elements add excitement and prevent predictability.
7. Invoke Emotion:
   - Connect with readers on an emotional level. Whether it's joy, sorrow, or fear, evoking emotions makes the story memorable and impactful.
