Ghosts headcanons that didn’t make it into the fic

Vash has an Instagram, mostly for sharing beach pics and Meryl/Wolfwood shenanigans. Nai never made any social media accounts but he still visited Vash’s account regularly. One might say obsessively.

After the events of the fic, Vash maintains his Instagram, but soon has to start omitting Nai from posts, as everyone either comments that he looks like a creepy stalker, or he looks like he’s being held hostage.

Vash hooked up with multiple people after the house, but only ever girls. No one too close to his brother.

The funeral director who facilitated Rem’s service and burial—the one who appeared in Nai’s nightmare—was Dr. Conrad. After seeing how he transformed their mother, Nai went back to that funeral home in high school and asked for career advice on mortuary school.

Will, Tesla’s dead husband, is a complete OC. His name is inspired by Dr. Conrad’s, but nothing else about him. I imagined him to look like season one Leverage-era Aldis Hodge.

If Will and Tesla had lived, their marriage probably wouldn’t have lasted. They were so young, and Tes especially rushed into the relationship because it made her so happy.

Brad and Luida’s marriage started to fray even before Rem died. But when they took Vash, Nai, and Tesla in, they decided to hang on at least until the kids were grown. The three of them had lost enough parents, they figured.

During their time at the house as teenagers, Vash would often forego underwear for the day, or simply wear boxer shorts and nothing else. He’d play with himself, or just think so much about Nai that he’d get himself incredibly wet. Tesla noticed at least once and worried that he’d actually wet himself.

In the apartment Vash and Nai buy at the end, they install a big mirror opposite their bed, so they can see each other even when they’re not in a sex position facing one another.

Wolfwood has some notion of Vash’s true relationship with Nai, even if he’d never say it aloud or even admit it to himself. He doesn’t have the most normal sibling relationships himself, honestly. (Sure, he’s jerked his little brother off on occasion. What’s the big deal?)

Meryl warms to Nai a little when she sees his human composting center. He cares a lot about his work, even if he is a little…intense about it. That just must be who he is.

Vash invites friends over to their apartment at least once a week to keep Nai humble. In return, Nai gets Vash to himself an entire day every month. They don’t go out, they don’t get dressed—they spend the entire day in bed, and Nai gets to do whatever he wants.
