putting together the puff quilt I started in May 🧵

I wanna show you the coolest thing ever:

My grandma made all of this from scratch and SURPRISED me with it!!!!!

The red is fabric is textured and the edges of the collar actually go up naturally. It doesn’t look real!!!

She even added Oblivion on the zipper pull because she knows that’s my favorite keyblade 🥺

To make things more incredible:

SHE PAINTED EVERY. SINGLE. SQAURE ON. And it looks and feels PRINTED.

I am never taking this thing off. I can never repay my Grandma. 😭😭😭 I have never in my entire life seen a more perfect replica of Roxas’s fit. Everywhere I had looked online they just didn’t look the best. This one looks real, like it was pulled out of the game, and it’s actually so comfortable (I can see why Roxas wears it every day in Twilight Town.) I didn’t use any filters on these photos, the colors are actually that perfect.

I finished my second quilt! It's for my grandma :)

Like the first quilt I made, I just used charm packs - bundles of pre-cut fabric squares with patterns that go well together.

I used two charm packs (5" squares, not 10") from Fat Quarter Shop. Would recommend! Not expensive, lots of pretty packs, and fast shipping. The light blue and light maroon border and back are just whatever Joann printed cottons, and the binding is plain black cotton.

Using charm packs definitely made this project pretty easy. Just arrange the squares in a pretty pattern and sew them together (well, there are smart ways of doing that, and owning an iron is highly recommended, but whatever). I hand-sewed the binding this time. It was actually way easier and faster than I thought it would be.

My nanny has one spot on the couch where she sits exclusively, and she is very tiny (as Nannie’s tend to be) so this is a lap quilt for her :) and my first craft of 2025!

If you will indulge me, this is the life of Phoebe (hogwarts legacy MC) before she was discovered as a witch:

Phoebe grew up in village near Bakewell, Derbyshire

Her father works at the post office, and her mother works in the local cotton mill. They are a close knit family and Bee is both a mummy AND daddy's girl

Her family are not well off, and Phoebe is expected to leave school at 15 to help provide, even though her parents wish she could stay in education

Sensitive only child energy

Missing baby teeth ALWAYS

Plays football with her best friend on the dales, even though only boys are allowed to play sports

(football was stolen from an annoying boy at school, but she will cry if her crime is ever discovered)

Often gets in trouble / is caned (it is the 1880s folks) for being too curious for her own good

Can manipulate fire?? When she's emotional?? How can that be??

Once her parents go to bed, she ignites a candle and reads a book she's borrowed from someone in the village (it might be fiction or something mundane like the train station manual, it doesn't matter)

Tall girl her WHOLE life

Her chalk board goes with her EVERYWHERE

Her clothes are always fraying because she's always rushing and pays no mind to how wild her hair gets

Everyone in the village says she's 'away with the fairies'

Winter is hard, especially if you’re like me and you like piddling. But we forget that winter is for rest. It is for planning, quilting, crocheting, crafting, baking. In winter we have the privilege of downtime. I GET to have the time to sew. I don’t have to worry about the garden and canning right now. Just like the plants and animals, we need this time of year.
