Can we do something platonic? Reader is a wallflower, basically almost all the time is in the sidelines and no one notices her, she’s accepted she’s not that bright or that pretty but snape notices she’s actually good at potions and in his own way tries to encourage her potential

Y/n had grown used to the way people never truly saw her. It was like living in a haze, watching life happen around her but never being a part of it. Day after day, she sat quietly in the back of classrooms, observing the way others interacted, laughing, whispering, and forming connections she knew she’d never be part of. No one looked twice at Y/n—not even once most of the time.
She wasn’t like the other girls at Hogwarts. She wasn’t pretty, or at least not in the way that people admired. Her hair didn’t catch the sunlight like golden threads, her eyes weren’t the kind that sparkled when she laughed (if she ever did), and her smile didn’t light up the room. In fact, she rarely smiled anymore. There wasn’t much to smile about.
Her grades were fine—never the top of the class, but she managed to stay afloat, drifting somewhere in the middle where she neither failed nor excelled. The professors didn’t call on her often, perhaps forgetting she was even there. It was fine. Y/n had learned to accept her place on the sidelines.
There was a dull, heavy ache that lived deep inside her, a quiet sadness that made her feel small and invisible, even in her own skin. She had stopped trying to stand out. What was the point? She wasn’t clever like Hermione Granger, who everyone admired for her intellect. She wasn’t as daring as the Gryffindors, or as cunning as the Slytherins. She wasn’t even as quirky as Luna Lovegood, who, though often teased, was at least memorable. Y/n was just… there.
She spent most of her time in the library, hidden behind towering shelves of dusty books. She could go entire days without speaking more than a few words. It was easier that way—easier to blend into the shadows, where no one could see how much it hurt to be invisible.
And then there was Potions class.
Y/n wasn’t sure what it was about Potions, but the quiet, methodical nature of the subject suited her. She liked the precision, the way each ingredient had its place and purpose. It was one of the few things she felt competent at, though she would never say she excelled. She followed the instructions, brewed her potions, and handed them in without a fuss. Professor Snape never paid much attention to her, which, in her mind, was a good thing. He was intimidating, with his sharp gaze and cutting words, and she didn’t want to be on the receiving end of his infamous temper.
But then one day, something changed.
It was a particularly dreary Wednesday afternoon, the dungeon classroom colder than usual. Y/n had taken her usual seat at the back, her cauldron bubbling quietly in front of her. Today, they were brewing a particularly tricky potion, and though she had followed the instructions carefully, something wasn’t right. The mixture in her cauldron was a shade too dark, and the scent was off, a sharp tang that shouldn’t have been there.
She frowned, stirring the potion with a sense of growing frustration. It was always like this—she always got close, but never quite right. The other students seemed to manage just fine, their potions shimmering the exact color described in the textbook. But hers… hers was always almost right, always just a bit off. Just like her.
“Miss Y/l/n.”
The sound of her name startled her, the wooden spoon clattering against the side of her cauldron as she looked up. Professor Snape was standing beside her, his dark eyes fixed on her potion with an expression that could have been disgust or disappointment—she wasn’t sure.
“Are you incapable of following simple instructions?” he asked, his voice low and cold, the words like a blade sliding between her ribs.
Y/n felt her face flush with embarrassment, her throat tightening as she stared down at her hands. “I—I thought I was,” she mumbled, hating the way her voice wavered. “I don’t know what I did wrong.”
Snape’s eyes narrowed, and for a moment, she braced herself for a scathing remark. But instead, he waved his wand, and the potion stilled. “The essence of wormwood was added too early,” he said, his tone brisk but not as harsh as she’d expected. “And you’ve allowed the fire to burn too hot.”
Y/n nodded mutely, feeling a fresh wave of disappointment wash over her. Of course, she’d messed it up. She always did.
Snape glanced at her, his expression unreadable. “Try again,” he said, his voice quieter this time. “And pay attention to the process, not just the result.”
She blinked, looking up at him in surprise. He didn’t walk away. Instead, he stood there, waiting, as if he actually expected her to succeed. It was strange—no one had ever given her a second chance before. No one ever waited for her.
With trembling hands, Y/n began again, carefully adding each ingredient as Snape watched. She adjusted the flame, measuring the powdered asphodel with a precision that bordered on obsessive. This time, she didn’t rush, didn’t try to simply get through the motions. She focused on each step, feeling the rhythm of the potion as it began to brew properly, the color shifting to the soft, translucent silver it was meant to be.
For the first time, she felt a flicker of something she hadn’t felt in a long time—pride. Small, tentative, but real. She glanced at Snape, half-expecting him to criticize her again, but instead, he gave a curt nod.
“Better,” he said, his voice cool but not unkind. “You have the capability. You simply lack the confidence.”
Y/n blinked in surprise. “Confidence?” she echoed, disbelief creeping into her voice.
Snape raised an eyebrow, his gaze piercing. “You doubt yourself at every turn, Miss Y/l/n. That is why you fail.”
His words stung, but not in the way she had expected. It wasn’t the sharp, cutting sting of insult, but the uncomfortable prickle of truth. She did doubt herself. Constantly. Every time she brewed a potion, every time she sat in class, every time she walked through the halls of Hogwarts, she felt like she wasn’t enough. Like she was nothing.
“But I—” She paused, unsure how to explain the weight she carried. “I’m just… not like the others.”
Snape’s expression didn’t soften, but there was something different in his eyes now, something that almost resembled understanding. “The world does not require you to be like everyone else,” he said. “It requires you to be competent. And you are, if only you would believe it.”
Y/n swallowed hard, her throat tight. She didn’t know how to believe in herself. She had spent so long fading into the background, so long being unseen, that she didn’t know how to be anything else.
Snape must have sensed her hesitation because his tone shifted slightly, becoming less cold. “You are not as invisible as you believe, Miss Y/l/n. Some of us see more than we let on.”
Her heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, she wasn’t sure she had heard him right. Not as invisible? It was impossible. How could someone like him—someone so brilliant and intimidating—even notice someone like her?
But there was no hint of sarcasm or cruelty in his voice. He wasn’t mocking her. He wasn’t trying to tear her down. He was simply stating a fact.
For the first time in a long time, Y/n felt a flicker of warmth spread through her chest. It wasn’t enough to chase away the darkness that lingered in her heart, but it was something. It was a start.
Over the next few weeks, Y/n found herself paying more attention in Potions. She stayed behind after class sometimes, quietly cleaning her station while Snape graded papers or arranged ingredients for the next lesson. He never said much, but every now and then, he would glance her way and offer a terse comment, correcting her technique or advising her on how to improve.
It was strange, this new dynamic between them. Snape wasn’t exactly kind, but he wasn’t cruel either. He didn’t treat her like she was worthless, like she was just another faceless student. He noticed her. He saw her. And that alone was enough to keep her coming back, to keep her trying.
One afternoon, as she lingered in the dungeon long after the other students had left, Snape spoke again.
“You’ve improved,” he remarked, not looking up from the parchment he was grading.
Y/n, who had been tidying up her cauldron, froze. “I have?”
Snape raised an eyebrow. “Do not sound so surprised, Miss Y/l/n. You are capable, as I’ve said before.”
She hesitated, her heart beating a little faster. “Why do you… care?”
It was a bold question, one she immediately regretted asking. But Snape didn’t seem offended. Instead, he leaned back in his chair, regarding her with those dark, penetrating eyes.
“I care,” he said slowly, “because I have no interest in seeing wasted potential.”
His words hung in the air, heavy and meaningful. Y/n swallowed, nodding slightly as she absorbed what he had said. For the first time in her life, someone had seen something in her. Something more than mediocrity.
As she left the dungeon that day, a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. The shadows that had once consumed her felt a little less suffocating. She wasn’t there yet—wasn’t whole, wasn’t healed—but maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t so invisible after all.
---
Y/n’s days continued in much the same way after that, but something had shifted. She still sat in the back of her classes, still kept her head down in the halls, and still spent hours in the library with her nose buried in books. But there was a new sense of awareness that came with it all—a realization that, perhaps, she wasn’t as invisible as she had always believed.
In Potions class, that subtle connection with Snape continued. He never praised her directly, never showered her with compliments or made grand gestures of approval. But there were small moments—glances exchanged over bubbling cauldrons, a word of advice spoken in his curt, indifferent manner—that told her she was being watched, acknowledged, and, in his own way, encouraged.
It wasn’t much. But it was enough. Enough to make her feel like maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t as insignificant as she had always thought.
It was a rainy afternoon when everything came crashing down.
Y/n had been keeping her head above water for weeks now, but the constant weight of her isolation, the crushing sense of being unwanted and unnoticed, never fully went away. The little spark of hope that Snape had ignited in her didn’t banish the sadness that clung to her like a second skin. It didn’t erase the countless nights spent lying awake, wondering what was wrong with her, or the gnawing feeling in her chest that whispered she wasn’t enough.
That day, it all became too much.
The lesson had been going well—she had even managed to brew her potion correctly on the first try—but a small mishap had occurred near the end. Another student had bumped into her table, causing her cauldron to tip slightly, spilling part of her completed potion onto the floor. It was an accident, but it felt like an omen. One small mistake, one tiny moment of chaos, and everything fell apart.
“Careless,” Snape had muttered under his breath as he passed her table, not bothering to stop and inspect the damage. The word was a knife to her chest, sharper than it should have been. He hadn’t even looked at her.
Careless. It echoed in her mind long after class had ended, long after she had cleaned up the mess and left the dungeon. That one word, spoken so casually, was enough to undo the fragile sense of self-worth she had been building.
By the time she reached the solitude of the empty corridor, the tears were already falling. She hadn’t cried in weeks, not since she had first felt that spark of hope, but now it was back—the overwhelming sadness, the feeling of being so small, so insignificant, it felt like she was fading away entirely.
Y/n slipped into an abandoned classroom, the door creaking shut behind her as she sank to the floor, hugging her knees to her chest. The tears came harder now, spilling down her cheeks in quiet, desperate sobs. She couldn’t do this anymore. She couldn’t keep pretending that things were getting better, that she wasn’t still drowning in her own loneliness. What was the point? No one cared. No one even noticed.
She had no idea how long she sat there, her face buried in her arms, letting the tears come in waves. It wasn’t until she heard the door creak open again that she realized she wasn’t alone anymore.
“Miss Y/l/n.”
Her heart stuttered in her chest, and she quickly wiped her eyes, scrambling to stand up. She recognized the voice immediately, that low, authoritative tone she had come to know so well. Snape.
She turned to face him, her breath catching in her throat as she saw him standing in the doorway, his dark eyes narrowed in his usual expression of mild disapproval. He didn’t speak for a moment, just looked at her, his gaze sharp and piercing as though he could see right through her.
“I— I’m sorry,” Y/n stammered, her voice thick with the remnants of tears. “I didn’t mean to— I was just—”
Snape raised a hand, cutting her off. “There is no need to explain yourself,” he said, his tone devoid of any softness. “I am not here to reprimand you.”
She blinked, confusion washing over her. “Then… why are you here?”
For a moment, Snape said nothing, his eyes flickering with something she couldn’t quite read. Finally, he stepped further into the room, closing the door behind him with a quiet click. His presence filled the small space, and Y/n felt her heart race in her chest. He wasn’t angry, but there was something heavy about the way he looked at her, something that made her feel vulnerable and exposed.
“I noticed you left in a rather… distressed state,” he said slowly, his voice careful. “And I find myself compelled to ask if you are… well.”
It was such a strange question, coming from him. Snape, who was always so cold, so distant, was standing in front of her, asking if she was well. It didn’t make sense. Nothing made sense.
Y/n shook her head, her voice barely a whisper. “I’m fine.”
Snape’s eyes narrowed slightly. “I highly doubt that.”
The bluntness of his words caught her off guard, and she felt a fresh wave of tears threatening to spill over. She tried to hold them back, tried to swallow the lump in her throat, but it was no use. The dam broke, and the tears came again, harder this time.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “I don’t know why I’m like this. I just… I can’t…”
She couldn’t finish the sentence. The weight of it all—the loneliness, the self-doubt, the crushing feeling of being unwanted—it was too much. She didn’t know how to explain it, didn’t know how to put into words the way it felt to live in her own skin.
For a long moment, Snape said nothing. Then, to her utter shock, he stepped closer, his voice low and steady.
“Miss Y/l/n,” he said quietly, “you are not as invisible as you believe.”
Y/n’s breath hitched in her throat, and she looked up at him through tear-blurred eyes. “I feel like I am,” she whispered. “I feel like no one sees me.”
Snape’s expression softened, just the tiniest fraction. “That is where you are mistaken.”
He didn’t elaborate, didn’t offer her any grand reassurances or platitudes. But there was something in his voice, something in the way he looked at her, that made her believe him. Even just for a moment, she believed him.
Y/n wiped her eyes again, sniffling as she tried to regain some semblance of composure. “I don’t know how to… not feel like this,” she admitted, her voice small.
Snape watched her for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then he spoke, his voice softer than she had ever heard it.
“It is not about being noticed by others,” he said quietly. “It is about recognizing your own worth. You are capable, Miss Y/l/n. Far more capable than you give yourself credit for. And it is time you begin to see that.”
The words struck her like a bolt of lightning, cutting through the fog that had clouded her mind for so long. It wasn’t a grand declaration, wasn’t a promise that everything would be okay. But it was something—a lifeline, a thread of hope in the darkness.
Y/n nodded slowly, her heart still heavy but just a little lighter than before. “Thank you,” she whispered.
Snape gave her a curt nod, turning toward the door. But before he left, he glanced back at her, his dark eyes holding hers for just a moment longer.
“Do not give up on yourself,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
And then he was gone, leaving her alone in the quiet room. But for the first time in what felt like forever, Y/n didn’t feel completely alone.
Because maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t as invisible as she had always thought.

WARNING: MESSY TIMELINE. DOES NOT FOLLOW CANON. CURSE WORDS, INJURIES
Part 1
Her eyes were trained on him. The chaos around her starts to fade as usual when she sees him look at her. Now that he knows how she feels there is a different kind of intensity in his eyes. It is like the world around her doesn't exist. The usual noise of James and Sirius chattering dulls as she studies his face. There may be a lot of distance between them physically but the way Severus and Y/n look at each other feels more intimate than the act of intimacy.
Their spell is broken at the sound of James cackling. Y/n gulps taking deep breath. Feeling as if Severus just saw every inch of her soul, Merlin she never felt this vulnerable but it feels so good.
Y/n clenched her jaw as she saw fellow Gryffindor students pointed at Severus and giggling. "He deserves it" she looks at the source of voice. James in his true fashion looked smug, as if he truly believes what he says. Y/n looks back to find an empty spot where he was sitting she takes one last bite of her cold breakfast and gets up.
"hey where are you going?" Sirius asked with a smirk that is ever- present on his face. Y/n shrugged her shoulder "nowhere specific, the weather is lovely might as well take a walk".
Before Sirius could speak again Y/n quickly walks and rushes out of the Great Hall.
.................................
Potions is a rather difficult class for Y/n, not because she has difficulty making potions but because she often gets distracted by Severus' hands. While trying to remember how many times she has to stir the potion her eyes would wander and study how gracefully and expertly Severus chops the ingredients.
Even Y/n does not understand how she finds beauty in what the world has deemed to be ruined and damned but one glance at his face and her heart throbs at the way the sun creates shadow on his face, the way she can spot a few freckles on his nose and kiss each of them.
"....L/n"
Y/n is pulled out of her daze by Slughorn's booming voice. She tensed up as she saw him checking her potion "Hmm there is still some room for improvement but well done...you certainly have improved in your potions. Not the best like Evan's potion but well done"
"Well... as long as I am not failing," Y/n thinks. But her thoughts are interrupted again when she feels like she is being watched. She tries to ignore it but ultimately looks around the class to find Severus staring at her. The students start to murmur as they catch him staring at her, looking at Y/n in pity, already creating stories about how the disgusting monster is plotting to prey on the sweet Y/n.
....................................................
A few days passed but for Y/n it felt like the days were blending. After that conversation, Severus has not spoken to her and truthfully after her experience with other boys she did not expect much, how would you expect Severus to feel for Y/n like he feels for Lily. Maybe it is her destiny to love Severus and watch him love Lily. Maybe in the next lifetime, she will experience how it feels to be loved by Severus Snape.
Y/n's best friend Carol watched her continue loving one man who has loved only one girl and she could not take her best friend long for the man that could never be hers. "Y/n don't you get it, he is an obsessive creep he will never love you back."
Y/n sighs "Carol...you cannot control your feelings. I let him know my feelings if he doesn't reciprocate that is fate but don't tell me not to love him...I cannot do that." Her voice cracks, she does not understand how she can feel so deeply for someone so damned.
Carol declares defeat with a sigh. She feels Y/n is digging her own grave, as loving Severus Snape could only result in pain and agony. She thinks Y/n is naive, but Y/n knows Severus Snape could ruin her with just one look at her. She only wants to give him one chance to show his true side, show her who Severus Snape truly is and that day approached soon.
.......................................................
The weather has always been gloomy here in Hogwarts, it is so rare to see even a sight of the sun. Yet somehow Y/n felt unease in her chest when she saw thunder clapping outside the window, ignoring the usual chattering of her cousin and his friends until she heard "we leave immediately after dinner."
Y/n immediately turns around to face James "wait wait go where where....go why?"
James sighs dramatically, putting his hand on his chest. "Ah, my little cousin does care about me." Y/n rolls her eyes. "Don't be silly. What are you up to now?" Ever since she has known her cousin she has seen a smirk on his face and she has learned one thing- he is up to no good. His teenage boy brain always trying to find the adrenaline in low-grade pranks. "Well...we know that Snivellus is hanging around the wrong crowd like the evil git he is. We want to catch him and give him hell. He deserves it for calling Lily....mudblood"
Y/n bites her tongue. Don't say anything....don't say anything....don't say anything. "Well, what if this wrong crowd is with him, James? You know you are talking about death eaters...they are not your regular students who would back down with a simple Stupefy or something.". She is terrified, the dread in her chest only grows. Even if James can be annoying and plans to trouble Severus....he is going after something that could lead to a fate worse than death.
Sirius pats her head and it takes everything in her not to glare at him "y/nn we have been following him. We know his schedule. We will follow him to the Hogsmeade and get him... before he meets the death eater." Sirius lets out a chuckle as if this is hilarious "he will be in such a state even those guys will see what a weak boy he is."
James chimes in laughing even louder "he will piss in his pants." Y/n grits her teeth. The cackles of the boys make her shiver, she desperately looks at Remus who as always... looks away. "James please..." she interrupted their moment of joy, James looked at her, pride filling his chest as he responded, "come on then".
The marauders step out and the thundering only gets more aggressive...almost as if warning about the danger that looms over the group. With every step they take fear starts to consume her heart. Y/n cannot decide who she fears more- the marauders or the death eaters, but she has one goal clear in her head...save Severus.
......................................
The marauders stay hidden in the shadows, waiting for Snape, but they can't even spot the dungeon bat's shadow. The speed of the wind picked up as the group's eyes focused on the street leading to Hogsmeade. Y/n crossed her fingers silently, wishing Severus would not come. Then immediately, Peter spoke up, pointing towards the High Street: "We should look there."
"Wait...why do you think we should specifically look there? We will be easily spotted" Y/n pointed out, only to be shushed by her cousin. This is not good. "James, please let's go...look, even the weather is getting worse."
"Sweetheart relax...we just want to make Snivellus piss in his pants...we can deal with some death eaters" Sirius responds giving Y/n his charming toothy smile which made Y/n grit her teeth. Oh, how Sirius was wrong. As everyone ran towards the High Street, her eyes frantically looked for Severus, now a different fear started to consume Y/n. Where is Severus?
Before anyone even had a moment to take in their surroundings they were suddenly targets of spells coming out from the wands of death eaters that were approaching them. Remus and Y/n immediately take charge as Sirius and James find their bearings. As she casts Protego, Remus looks back at the two "where is Peter?" Before they can speak up one of the death eaters strikes Y/n with an Expelliarmus immediately breaking their shield "no time we have to hide".
James shrieks as he gets hit with a spell on his shoulder, making him bleed, Sirius immediately picks him up as he also strikes spells trying to keep the death eaters away.
"Crap they blocked the only way we can go back" Remus nervously looks at the 3 death eaters that were coming towards the group. Y/n whispers "lets go towards the Cemetery we'll figure a way out". Remus puts another Protego as they run away from death eaters. Adrenaline pumped through her veins as she and Remus casted spells defending themselves from the death eaters that were closing in...Peter still nowhere to be seen and as the rain starts to get heavier it became more difficult to navigate the alleyways.
Y/n yelps and stumbles as she gets hit on her leg, Remus slows down but she pushed him as she tries to run "don't stop just keep running". She winces as she tries to run. The boys run quicker than her and she realized she has a lot of ground to cover when suddenly she gets hit again that made her fall.
She picks her wand immediately to defend herself but gets hit with another spell that made her drop her wand. Y/n's heart rate spikes up as the death eaters walk closer to her. She tries to get up but her wounds make her cry in pain. As they walk closer she immediately grabs her wand again casts a stupefy and limps towards a dark alley. She looks back and groans as she saw the death eaters running after her again but as she turned around she bumped into someone. Her eyes widen as she saw the death eaters standing in front of her as soon as she raised her wand he gripped her wrist and turned her around, pulling her towards his chest. In that moment Y/n knew she was going to die. But to her surprise this death eater—quite skillfully disarms the death eaters, and casts the obliviate spell on him.
Wait his voice sounds familiar. Before she gets to wrack her brain the death eater picks her up bridal style and they vanish amongst a black cloud before the other death eaters could come to their senses.
.........................................
She feels like her head is spinning when they finally reach somewhere. Y/n looks around and it looks like a very old house . The scent of herbs oddly makes her feel safer even though right now she is in the arms of a strange death eater.
The death eater gently takes her to his bathroom and seated her on a stool. Y/n's eyes follows his move carefully. As soon he points his wand towards her she points her wand towards his.
"That is of no use you silly woman. I was able to disarm 3 very skilled death eaters in one move...what makes you think I cannot do the same to you"
Severus.
Y/n tries her best not to smile... cursing her stupid heart. After all what he said was also a bit insulting. She lowers her wand. "I think I did quite well". At that Severus furiously took his mask off. "What were you thinking coming there with those idiots...do you have any idea what would have happened to you if those bastards got their hands on you?"
Y/n huffed. Even if the sight of this man makes her heart flutter he has a mouth full of insults that makes her grind her teeth. In that moment of silence her brain has awfully reminded her that this is the first time she is talking to Severus after that day she confessed her feelings for him. As Severus casted a healing spell on her wounds one thing was clear in her head. She does not regret her words.
"Are you going to tell me what you were doing there or are you going to sit there like a statue"?
Y/n fiddled her fingers as she quietly spoke "they were planning to pull another nasty prank on you. I couldn't just sit there. I came along so that I could somehow...help you get away from them"
"Clearly, I didn't need your help," Severus growled as he looked into her eyes, which were trying their best not to shed a tear. Does he hate her that much? Y/n looks away from his eyes only to feel his cold finger under her chin, which makes her look back towards him. "Y/n...if James would have hurt me...beat me till I was unconscious I would have been able to tolerate that but...but if something would have happened to you...I would not have been able to live with myself."
Y/n gulps, her heart beats so loudly she fears it might be the only sound echoing in the house. She felt a shiver up her spine as she felt his cold finger slowly make its way from her chin to her throat "I can't help but fear what would have happened to you if I came even a second late...I cannot even begin to forgive myself for the injuries you have sustained right now".
Her pulse quickened as Severus wrapped his hand gently around her throat "you are insane if you still want to love me because this...the double life, the death eaters...this is a part of my life in such a way even if I try I will not be able to detach myself from it...if you get involved with me...you get involved with this".
"I love you....so much" Y/n's voice wavered as his thumb rubbed her throat. Severus groaned "you are so stubborn". Y/n gasped as Severus finally closed the gap between them and kissed her, chasing the taste of rain on her lips. At that moment Y/n forgot all about her pain, about how James might react, about how cold she was right now and could only focus on how Severus tastes. Despite the pain in her body, her hand flew to his hair, letting Severus in between her legs and rendering her speechless.
Severus pulls away from her lips with a wet pop and it takes her a few minutes before she can open her eyes. As she does, she looks at him fondly, her eyes not able to look away from the supposed damned boy that stood in front of her, his hand still wrapped around her throat. She can't help but let out a whimper as Severus in his baritone voice whispers a soft promise in her ear, sealing it with another passionate kiss on her lips that made her knees weak.
I love you so much...I will protect you until my last breath, love. I promise.

WELL DONE
pairing : prof!severus snape x prof!reader
genre : fluff
warning : snape might be ooc
summary : as hogwarts’ newest professor, you’re facing lots of challenges, including snape’s constant sarcasm and interruptions. but behind his sharp remarks lies, a softer side you never expected to find.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it had only been a week since you’d joined hogwarts as the new professor of charms, and already you were beginning to wonder if you’d made the right decision. it wasn’t the students; they were surprisingly manageable, even the weasley twins. nor was it the workload, which, while demanding, was something you could handle.
no, the real problem was snape.
from the moment you arrived, professor severus snape had made it his personal mission to make your life as irritating as possible. whether it was his pointed remarks in staff meetings or the way he always seemed to find a reason to hover near your desk in the staffroom, he was relentless.
“professor,” snape’s deep, clipped voice broke through your thoughts as you sat at the staffroom table, grading essays.
you didn’t bother looking up. “what's now, snape?”
“you’ve spelled levitation incorrectly on your board during every third-year lesson this week,” he said, his tone dripping with mock disappointment. “i suppose precision isn’t a priority in charms anymore.”
you glanced up, narrowing your eyes at him. “i don’t recall asking for your feedback,” you said.
he tilted his head slightly, his dark eyes glinting with amusement. “consider it a professional courtesy,” he said, the smirk playing at his lips enough to make your fingers twitch.
you sighed, setting down your quill. “do you have anything better to do, or is pestering me just your new hobby?”
snape leaned against the chair opposite you, his arms crossed. “it's not pestering, professor. i’m merely ensuring that the students receive… adequate instruction.”
“how kind of you,” you replied dryly, your gaze locking with his. “and here i thought you were just bored.”
his lips quirked into a small, humorless smile. “boredom has nothing to do with it,” he said, his voice softer now but no less irritating. “though i must admit, your reactions are… amusing.”
you rolled your eyes and returned to your grading, determined not to give him the satisfaction of another retort.
but, of course, snape wasn’t finished. “how are you finding hogwarts, professor?” he asked after a moment, his tone feigning polite curiosity.
“aside from certain professors?” you said, not looking up. “quite enjoyable.”
“mm,” snape murmured, his voice laced with dry amusement. “i’ll try not to take that personally.”
you finally glanced up, meeting his gaze. “oh, please do.”
to your surprise, his smirk softened slightly, and for a brief moment, he looked almost... fond. but the moment passed quickly, and his usual aloof expression returned.
“very well,” he said, pushing off from the chair. “i’ll leave you to your marking. do try not to misspell anything else.”
you huffed as he swept out of the room, his robes billowing behind him. despite the irritation bubbling in your chest, you couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at your lips.
later that evening, as you made your way to your quarters, you found yourself thinking about snape. sure, he was annoying, but there was something oddly… engaging about him. the way he always seemed to seek you out, the way his sarcasm was never truly cruel, and the way his dark eyes softened, just slightly, when he looked at you.
you shook your head, dismissing the thought. there was no way snape was anything more than an annoyance. and yet, as you opened the door to your quarters, you found a small, neatly folded piece of parchment sitting on your desk.
unfolding it, you saw a single line, written in an elegant, precise hand:
you’ve improved. well done.
you stared at the note, your heart skipping for reasons you didn’t quite understand. and for the first time since you’d arrived at hogwarts, you found yourself looking forward to seeing snape again.

Morning Shift
Dad! Severus Snape x Mom! Fem! Reader x Baby Tags: Fluff. Sev being a good dad. Reader getting rest she deserves <3. Baby being a cutie. Word Count: 2.0k "I didn't mean to oversleep."
☾☾☾☾
Tumblr media
☾☾☾☾
It was quite rare for you to have the chance to sleep in.
Even before the baby was born, you were pretty much up and going by dawn every day. It made you feel more productive to get up early and get the day started before the sun even had the chance to fully rise.
An occasional Saturday or Sunday would roll around where neither you nor Severus were in any rush to get up and moving. Those were during the slower weeks of the year, usually during the summer when Severus wasn't teaching and your work wasn't as demanding.
But after the baby was born, those occasional lazy weekend days had become pretty much obsolete. The mornings and nights had become less hectic as your newborn transitioned into an infant, and she was on somewhat of a sleeping schedule. However, when the baby was up, so were you.
Severus gave his fair share of helping out with the baby at all times of the day, but typically, Severus tended to her the most in the evenings. Severus usually fed her dinner, bathed her, and prepared her for her early bedtime.
It wasn't intentional really, but the two of you fell into a routine where you handled the mornings, the two of you rotated off during the day, and Severus handled the evenings/nights. Severus would help anytime when needed, but for the most part, that was the best arrangement.
On one particular weekend morning, however, the routine was different.
Severus awoke to a quiet house. There wasn't the sound of his wife stirring in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for him and the baby who would no doubt be babbling for her breakfast.
He felt a presence in the bed next to him, a gentle warmth coming from it as well. He was surprised to see you were still asleep, bundled up in the covers as comfortable as could be.
The warm glow of the newly risen sun beamed through the windows of the bedroom, spilling over your back that was facing the glass. He watched you only for a moment, pushing some stray hairs from your eyes and pulling the covers higher on you to keep you toasty.
It made his heart swell to see you getting some extra rest on your day off, and he made it his mission to let you sleep as long as possible. He was more than happy to be on baby duty that morning and a change of routine was a bit exciting.
The clock on his bedside table read 7:12 a.m. which did alarm him briefly. It was twelve minutes past the baby's usual wake up time, which meant either she was getting some extra sleep as well, or she was storming mad that no one had come to pick her up to begin her day.
Severus was quiet as he crept out of bed, his footfalls quiet as he exited your bedroom to enter the baby's room just next door. Severus always left the baby's nursery door slightly cracked in the event the baby needed something during the night or woke up earlier than usual.
He pushed the door open gently, a burst of sunlight painting the hallway. The room was perfectly warm for a January morning, a vast difference from the bitter cold on the outside.
He glanced at the crib, seeing some movement in the crib. She was squirming excitedly, happy that someone was finally coming to get her up for the day.
She was awake, but not agitated in the slightest that no one had come to get her yet. She was content to lie in her crib for a little while, the charmed mobile above her crib keeping her entertained. She couldn't have been awake for very long, considering it was only a few minutes after her usual wake up time.
Severus approached her crib with a gentleness that few knew he possessed. His dark eyes, so often narrowed with sternness, softened when they gazed upon his child.
"Good morning, darling." He smiled, reaching down to pick up the cooing baby.
His daughter smiled back at him with a sleepy grin and sluggish eyes, but held an expression of confusion as to why her mother wasn't there to wake her like usual.
"Not expecting me this morning, hm?" He asked, which only returned a yawn from his daughter. "We'll let Mum sleep in this morning. She deserves it."
The eight-month-old only babbled in response, mouthing at Severus' shoulder through his T-shirt. You and Severus were pretty sure she had some teeth coming in based on the fact that she wanted to chew on everything.
Usually you dressed the baby as the first step of her morning routine, but it was the weekend so she would more than likely be home for the majority of the day. Severus opted to leave her in her pajamas for now, which she had no protests with.
She was rather clingy today, her tiny hands grabbing for him to pick her up again once she was dressed. She knew that if anyone in the world would pick her up whenever she wished, I was Severus.
Severus struggled with leaving her when she wanted to be picked up. You had been telling Severus for the last month or so that it is indeed okay to let her sit on her own as long as she's being supervised. She was beginning to work towards crawling, and you knew the only way she was ever going to learn to crawl was if she had the chance to be on the ground.
But Severus couldn't resist his daughter's grabby hands and beaming eyes. He spoiled the little girl, and he just couldn't tell her no.
He whisked her down the stairs, smiling at her giggles when he pressed a kiss to her temple.
Severus knew it was time for breakfast, and he knew that she was going to get fussy if he didn't get her fed soon. He slipped her into her highchair, her legs wiggling as she squirmed with anticipation.
"What would you like for breakfast, princess?" He asked, only receiving an interested stare in response. "I know you like eggs...and I think Mum picked up some fruit yesterday."
Severus turned and surveyed the inside of the fridge, studying its contents to make a decision. She was getting impatient, whining and babbling for Severus to hurry up. She was on a specific schedule, and her late wake up time had her about fifteen minutes behind.
Severus went with his suggestion on the premise that eggs and fruit were a safe option. She wasn't terribly picky, but since this wasn't her usual routine, he figured giving her something that he knew she liked was best.
Severus selected a few eggs from the fridge, deciding to cook them all and divide the portion appropriately between himself, you, and the baby. He knew it wouldn't be long before you were up, so he got started on getting a pot of coffee brewed as well.
With a wave of his wand, the stove ignited and began cooking the eggs in a pan while he worked on getting some fruit mashed up for her.
"Strawberries or a banana?" He asked her, who was more interested in dancing in her chair than picking which fruit she wanted.
Severus was certain that she hadn't eaten strawberries before. He took a chance and went with the strawberries, retrieving a few and getting them smushed enough to be suitable for baby consumption. He plated the eggs once they were cooked,
He pulled up a chair to her highchair, holding the tiny baby spoon and bowl in his hand to begin feeding her baby spoonfuls of her breakfast.
She made a noise of approval with the strawberries, barely even swallowing before motioning for more. For an eight-month-old, she was a fantastic eater and would try nearly anything.
Your daughter giggled, her eyes sparkling with the sight of her dad in front of her. Severus couldn't help but feel a tug at his heartstrings. This was a side of him that no one else got to see, a side reserved only for his precious little one.
He felt so incredibly lucky to have a child. He felt even more blessed to raise her and love her in the ways he never was. He wasn't a perfect father by any means, but he made it his personal mission to never give her a reason to think of him as a bad father.
When her noises slowed and she hesitated to take any more bites of food, Severus stopped feeding her and began cleaning up. Slowly but surely, she was fed to satisfaction -- and Severus managed to fill himself up by getting bites in between feeding her.
Her face and shirt was painted with stains of sticky red from the strawberries, but she was happy as a clam and not at all concerned about the fact that she would most certainly need a bath.
Severus stood at the sink, letting her entertain herself while he arranged the dishes to be washed. When she gave a particularly joyous squeal, he knew that she had spotted something that she liked.
You were up now, standing in the doorway of the kitchen just freshly awake.
"Good morning, you two." You spoke gently, still clad in your sleepwear from the night before.
Severus turned, grinning at you with a small pink tint in his cheeks.
"Good morning, darling. We've just had breakfast." He smiled at you, his wife who he adored so dearly.
"I see that. You should've woke me up," You said. "I didn't mean to oversleep."
"Nonsense, darling. You needed the rest, and I am perfectly capable of taking on breakfast," He said. "I...assumed eggs and fruit were a safe choice."
"Oh, yeah. That's perfect," You approached the highchair, using your fingers to swipe some of her bed head hair to the side. "Looks like the strawberries were a hit." You laughed, noting the stains of red on her pink pajama shirt.
"Yes...sorry about that, my love." He blushed.
"I needed to do laundry today anyways," You smiled, not irritated in the slightest. "She'll be grown out of it soon."
A slight pang in Severus' chest made him go quiet for a moment. She was growing so fast that he couldn't even believe it. In four short months, she was going to be a year old. To think that it had been almost a year since she was born completely blew his mind. Next thing he knew, she would be starting her first day at Hogwarts and getting sorted into her House.
For now, he was enjoying her infant stage of life. Just as he had cherished the newborn phase, and how he would the toddler stage and beyond.
"I say it's time for a bath." You lifted her from her highchair, laughing again at how sticky she was.
"I can handle it," Severus said, turning the sink faucet off. "Might as well finish her morning routine."
"Are you sure?" You asked, feeling a bit guilty that he was taking on your usual morning duties.
"Absolutely," He grinned, taking her from you and turning his attention to her. "Mum will read you your bedtime story and put you to bed tonight. Does that work?"
She only hummed, clearly content with the arrangement they had going on today.
"Thank you, Sev." You said, thanking him for being so attentive and letting you sleep in for a bit.
"Oh, darling, it was nothing," He pressed a kiss to your forehead. "Why don't you have breakfast and coffee while I get her ready for the day?"
Sure enough, Severus had a plate and a cup of coffee ready to go for you, a charm casted to keep the coffee hot and the food warm.
"The day where we have nothing planned?" You grinned, and Severus chuckled.
"Exactly."
And to Severus, a Saturday with nothing to do was perfect. In a lot of ways, nothing was everything when you and the baby were around.
His family (albeit small) was everything he ever needed.

Secret Keepers (Severus Snape x Y/n)
Pt.2 -> Secret Keepers
Severus Snape x fem!pregnant!wife!professor
Main Masterlist here -> DracoLilHoe
Harry Potter Fandom Masterlist here -> HP Masterlist
Warnings - Female reader, use of Y/n, mild swearing, Professor reader, mentions of mensurating
Words: +1.5k
Summary: Severus & Y/n have been secretly married for the last few years. Y/n has a hunch that something big is happening, but isn't sure if she should trust her instincts.
If you find mistakes please tell me! I'm not a perfect writer so please just let me know. Happy reading! :)
Tumblr media
Just breathe, Y/n. Everything is perfectly fine. I say to myself as I pace around my classroom. You're freaking out over nothing. It's normal for everyone to miss their period sometimes, but two weeks? Maybe I should see Poppy just to be sure. I let out a shaky breath and made my way to the hospital wing, my footsteps echoing in the empty corridors.
"Poppy?" I call as I walk into the Hospital wing. "Hello? Oh! Y/n dear lovely to see you! Is something the matter? You seem distressed." Merlin, this is going to be awkward. "Um… I was wondering if you happened to have a pregnancy test?" Her eyebrows shoot up slightly as she stares at me. "Yes. Yes, I do. Do you need one?" "Yes. That would be great." "Alright, give me a moment." She walks over to her office to fetch the test as I rock back and forth nervously.
The clicking of the heels can be heard a few moments later as she comes back with the test in hand. "The bathroom is just over there," She points over to a door on the far end of the wing. "take all the time you need." She gives me a comforting pat on the back and a soft push forward.
After I do my business I place the test on the bathroom counter face down and wash my hands. I lean against the wall of the bathroom as I gaze at the test. I sigh heavily and rub my eyes. "It's now or never…" I mutter picking up the small stick. I look down and stare at the single pink word.
Positive
"Holy shit. Holy shit," I whisper as the test falls to the floor and my hands fly to my tear-filled eyes. "I'm gonna be a mom… I'm gonna be a mom!" A soft knocking can be heard as a soft voice calls, "Y/n… is everything alright?" I open the door and stare at the older woman in front of me. She glances at my tear-stained cheeks and the test now on the floor. She bends down, picks up the test, and her eyes widen as her mouth falls open. "Dear Merlin," she whispers, "you're pregnant!" I nod as she pulls me into a tight hug. "Congratulations!" She says excitedly as we pull away and she rubs my shoulders softly. "Thank you."
"If you don't mind me asking… who's the father?" I sigh. "Promise me you'll keep it a secret. We'd like to keep our marriage private." "Marriage!?" "Poppy! Promise me!" "Okay, okay I promise." "It's Severus." "What!?" "Keep your voice down will ya! Someone could be walking by." Poppy sighs, "Damnit, I owe Minerva and Pomona 10 galleons." "Excuse me? What do you mean you owe them galleons!?" "Um… well me, Albus, Minnie, Fillius, Hagrid, and Pomona bet on whether you and Severus would end up together. Minnie and Pomona said you would and the rest of us said you wouldn't. We were clearly wrong."
"Poppy!" A voice calls from the entrance to the hospital wing. Poppy turns around to find Minerva with a puzzled expression on her face. Minerva glances at my tear-stained face and then the test in Poppy's hand. "Y/n, are you alright?" "Never better, Minnie." Minerva walks over and takes the test from Poppy's hand. "Y/n, you're pregnant?! Who's the father? When did this happen?" "Minnie!" "What! I'm just curious!" "Okay, first off the father is Sev," she gasps and I roll my eyes, "Second, I know you guys bet on us." She laughs nervously. "No hard feelings, right?" I sigh and shake my head. "No hard feelings," she lets out a breath and laughs nervously, "But I want 20%."
"Y/nnn," she whines "Pleaseee don't do this" "Hand it over girl." I giggle as she pouts her lip but hands me some money from her pocket. "Thank you." I place the money in my back pocket as well as the test Minerva handed back to me. "When are you going to tell Severus?" Poppy asks as the three of us walk toward the entrance to the wing. My face falls slightly as I fidget with my fingers. "Probably after dinner," I whisper nervously. "Don't be nervous! Everything will be fine!" Minerva says as she pulls me into a motherly embrace. I sigh and hug her back. "Thank you, Minnie." "I should probably get going. My next class starts soon," I glance down at my watch. "I'll see you two at dinner." "Good luck, Y/n!" They say as I make my way back to my classroom.
**Dinner**
I head to the Great Hall and enter through the large doors. Walking up to the broad table at the far end of the hall taking a seat next to Severus. "Hello, love," I whisper. A smile appears on his face as he gives me a quick glance. I hear giggling and glance to my left to see Minerva and Poppy smirking at me. I roll my eyes as I place some food on my plate. "So, how was your day, Severus?" Severus gives me a confused look as he side-eyes the girls. "The usual. Gave Potter a detention this evening" I nod not really paying attention to what he is saying, "Severus, I was wondering if I could speak to you after dinner. It's urgent." His eyebrows furrow in confusion, but he nods.
Once dinner is finished Severus stands up and heads towards his office. I watch him as he goes and feel my body heat up from the nerves. "So, have you told him yet?" A voice asks from behind me. I jump and let out a small squeal. "Minnie! What the bloody hell!" "Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you! I was just curious." "No. I haven't told him yet. I'm going to go tell him right now." "Okay! Good luck, Y/n!" I nod as I stand up and begin walking to his office. "You better name it after me!" She calls. I laugh and answer back, "You wish!" A few students and staff members who are still present in the hall exchange glances with each other as they stare at me and Minerva.
I begin heading down the stairs toward the dungeons. The cold atmosphere making me shiver. I reach the door to Sev's office and softly tap my knuckles against the dark wood. "Severus?" "Enter." Says the cold monotone voice of my dear husband. I open the door leaving it slightly ajar and am met with the familiar smell of parchment and books. I glance up to see my husband sitting at his desk with a quill in hand and papers scattered on his desk. His cold eyes meet mine but soften instantly. "Hey, love. You wanted to talk about something?" I nod. He pushes his chair back and pats his lap. "Come."
I walk over and straddle him my hands moving to play with his hair. (Something he will never admit to liking out loud.) He moves his hands to draw small circles on my thighs. "Speak." "Well, I went to see Poppy this morning and-" "What? Why? Are you alright? Are you hurt?" He asks as he caresses my cheek. "Sev! Let me finish," He sighs, "Go on." "To answer your question I'm perfectly fine. I just haven't um… well… I haven't gotten my period for almost three weeks. I just got worried so I went to Poppy," He raises his eyebrows slightly but doesn't interrupt. "I asked her for a test and she gave me one," I reach into my back pocket and pull out the test handing it to him.
He takes the test from my hands and turns it around to stare at the pink word against the small screen. "You're… You're pregnant?" He whispers as he looks up at me. I nod as tears fill my eyes. He pulls me into a tight hug as he kisses my head. "I can't believe it… we're gonna have a baby." I look up at his shocked face and giggle as we pull apart. "Is that why Minerva and Poppy were acting weird?" I lay my head on his shoulder. "Yeah. They both found out about us this morning. Did you know they placed a bet on us?" "They did, did they," he says as he kisses my forehead and begins running his fingers through my hair. "As much as I would love to hold you for the rest of the evening… Mr. Potter has a detention… and should be arriving soon." I sigh and get off his lap as he stands up and pulls me into his chest. "I love you, darling, I'll come see you tonight." He leans down for a loving kiss. I smile and walk over to the door as he sits back down at his desk. "Love you!" I say as I begin to make my way back to my chambers.
Unbeknownst to both of us Harry had been listening through the crack in the door and knew everything. He wouldn't tell anyone, right?
It's the bloody dungeon bat for crying out loud!
Of course, he would!
Breakfast should be interesting tomorrow…

——————-
Months went by. Waiting. Scheming. Y/n felt her mind deteriorate by the day. Between Bellatrix’s constant complaints of Draco’s failures and Narcissa’s moping, Y/n spent most of her time in the attic of Malfoy Manor. Hidden away to perfect her spells and create new ones. She even managed to successfully become an animagus.
A black crow.
How fitting.
At times Y/n found herself sitting in front of the window. Especially when it rained. The lightning in the distance, the crisp air filling the attic walls. Lost in her thoughts, Y/n would caress the silver jewelry laid on her left ring finger.
Once a month she’d receive a letter from Severus, unbeknownst to the others, detailing Draco’s attempts and all the times Snape’s had to cover for him. As part of their deal to keep quiet of the others' disloyalty and motives behind actions, Snape agreed to update her on Draco and keep the Order off Y/n’s trail. For Y/n’s side of the bargain, she agreed to deflect suspicion on him from their fellow Death Eaters. Specifically her sisters.
And what better way to do that then in holy matrimony.
“You want to get married?” she scoffed, placing her wine glass on the coaster. Having left with her sisters following the unbreakable vow, Y/n returned later that night after Severus sent an owl. Sitting in the same leather chair from before, “You humor me.”
“I can assure you I am everything but comical, Y/n,” he drawled, standing by the fireplace. The sound of wood crackling filled the room. “This is not an arrangement I suggest lightly.”
Seeing how serious he was, Y/n’s demeanor changed. “Wow,” her tone lowered, finger raising to tap her lips. Unable to read her mind since she was a gifted Occulmens like himself, Snape was left to wonder what Y/n was thinking. Truth be told the woman was more impressed than shocked by his proposal. “I think that’s the first time I’ve been rendered speechless, Severus.” Standing, Y/n grabbed her glass and approached the man. “You truly believe this would work? Proposing a marriage between us….” she trailed, glancing at the fire briefly, “is intriguing. Tell me more.”
Snape’s expression remained the same, “It is simply a matter of convenience.” No need to sugar coat it, “We want to keep our secrets hidden. So long as you can assure your sisters stay off my back…..I’ll make sure the Order stays off yours. We play the part of a happy married couple when operating business with the Dark Lord, and I will do everything in my power to get your freedom when this all ends.”
Y/n liked what she was hearing. The more she thought about it, the more engrossed she became. Marrying Snape wasn’t ideal--as the concept itself she did not care for--but Y/n could not deny the idea made her curious. Plus Severus was handsome, a talented wizard, and obviously, he knew her motives for following Voldemort. What her end goal was. She needed to keep him close.
“I think I’ll find playing the part of a smitten wife will be rather easy,” she rasped, stepping closer to Snape so their chests were nearly touching. Walking her fingertips up the length of his arm, Y/n leaned closer to Snape which ignited a sharp breath from the man. She smelled of expensive perfume. Their closeness allowed him to see how her eyes turned from their usual coldness to something more lustful. Almost sinister. His reaction made her smirk, “Confident you can manage the same….husband?”
Now, almost a year later, the two managed to successfully keep their union hidden from the Order. All while any suspicion the Death Eaters had of Snape seemed to disappear. Bellatrix, initially furious and doubtful of their ‘relationship’, soon began to trust him. Still, the witch grimaced each time the pair greeted the other with an affectionate kiss. Or when Y/n took claim to Snape’s lap during meetings. An action which surprised the man himself in the beginning.
Each letter Severus sent was met with one in return, however Y/n was careful to only send her owl in the late hours of the night. When her family was sound asleep. Signing the parchment with only her initials, but instead of B as the ending initial it was S. She’d never admit it aloud, but Y/n felt a sense of comfort with Severus. There was an overwhelming amount of hate in her heart, but the pinch of sanity left in her soul connected to him. Which is not a surprise. He is, of course, the only person who can relate to her.
Neither would call it love. Y/n possessed no love. And Snape lost his when Lily died. They had mutual respect and care for each other as their partnership grew. Finding the other’s presence calm despite the world around them going to shit.
The news of Draco’s success in connecting the two cabinets came from Bellatrix’s glee, the woman bursting into the attic with a loud, “It’s time, sister.” Reluctantly, Y/n trailed Bellatrix to Knockturn Alley, where they met several of their associates.
Dark clouds painted the sky. Thunder rumbling. It set the tone of the evening.
Y/n stayed stoic the entire journey. Hating every minute, yet doing nothing to escape. Where could she even go? The mark on her arm prevented her from doing so. Until Voldemort was defeated, the only way for her to stay alive was to continue the act of a loyal servant.
Draco was gone when the group breached the cabinet in a cloud of black smoke. The boy rushed to find Dumbledore and complete his task. He found the man on the observation deck of the Astronomy Tower. Unaware his longtime rival, Harry Potter, was below him, watching the scene play out.
The others arrived to witness Draco complete the task, however, in the end Snape was the one to administer the curse. And so the greatest wizard in history fell from the sky.
Y/n kept her eyes on Severus the entire time. Watching his reaction. When he went through with the unthinkable, Y/n wasted no time in rushing to his side. Cupping his face, she noticed the dissociative expression Snape wore. Mind processing what he had done. “Severus,” he didn’t respond, making her shake his shoulders, “look at me.” Finally he meets her eye and the woman matches his anxious demeanor. “We have to go. Now.”
Clutching his robe, the two push Draco in the direction of the Death Eaters. Bellatrix’s maniacal laughter rings as she shoots a spell into the sky to bring forth the Dark Lord’s symbol in the clouds. Not long after the tower was surrounded by members of the Order, ensuing a battle between the groups. Y/n tried to avoid dueling as much as possible. Not wanting to harm anyone, especially the kids in the school.
Cutting the corner after dodging a spell from her niece Nymphadora, Y/n spotted the wretched Fenrir Greyback attacking a man she didn’t recognize. Judging by the wild red hair he possessed, she assumed it was a Weasley. Greyback’s back was toward her, unaware she stood behind him. From the looks of it, the redhead was losing the fight.
Not sure what came over her at that moment, Y/n raised her wand and shouted, “Stupefy!” The werewolf was flung into the wall behind him, falling unconscious.
“Bill!” a voice screamed, Y/n turning to see a young woman running to where the Weasley laid. Bloodied and knocked out. Fluer dropped beside him, sobbing at the state of her fiance. She glanced up to see Y/n, immediately becoming frozen with fear while pleading with her to help. “Y-you--H-he’s been--.”
Cursing to herself, Y/n approached the two. “He wasn’t bit,” adjusting her dress skirt, she grabbed the cuffs of Bill’s jacket and gestured for Fluer to help. Together they moved him to a concealed area away from the battle. “He’s been scratched.” Having studied werewolves while in school, the woman was well educated on the subject. Muttering a healing spell, Y/n attempted to at least stop the bleeding, however, she knew the extent of his injuries were serious. “Nevertheless, the wounds are cursed. They’ll scar.”
Fluer watched her carefully, “W-why are you helping us?” Y/n gave no answer, instead casting a final healing spell before standing up to leave. In her peripheral vision, she noticed movement from Greyback, and sent a second stun his way to keep him unconscious. She always hated him, so it gave her great pleasure to pu thim down.
Truth be told Y/n didn’t know why she helped the injured Weasley. It would have best suited her to get the hell out of there and let whatever outcome happen. Whether that be Greyback killing the man or Bill successfully overpowering the werewolf. But instead, she cursed her associate. Saving the life of ‘the enemy’.
Several agonizing minutes passed before Y/n managed to escape the tower. At Snape’s order, she ran deep into the forest until she was far enough to apparate. Back at the manor she was immediately questioned by her sister.
“Is Draco okay,” Narcissa grabbed Y/n’s wrist to stop her from escaping to the attic. Eyes glossy with tears, “Did he--.”
“Your son is fine, Narcissa,” she roughly pulled away. “You have my husband to thank for that--he finished the job.” There was immediate relief from Narcissa, exhaling the breath she had been holding. Y/n went straight to the liquor cabinent, taking a glass and pouring a generous amount before downing it. She then refilled the glass, offering it to her sister without a word. Once Narcissa took it Y/n kept the bottle for herself, saying nothing more as she made her way to the attic.
It wasn’t long before the others arrived. Y/n heard Narcissa’s cry of relief upon seeing Draco. Bellatrix was busy scolding Greyback--something that brought a smile to her face. Other murmurs were made out, but hard to identify with all the noise. Moments later she heard the fast approaching sound of footsteps nearing her door. Jolting from her bed with her wand raised at whoever was about to breach it. Only when it was revealed to be Severus did Y/n lower her guard, rolling her eyes, “What have I told you about--.”
Snape slammed the door shut, muttering a silencing charm which caused Y/n to raise her brow. “We need to talk.” Her guarded expression returned, but Snape beat her before she could question him. “I know you stunned the werewolf to save Weasley.” All movement from the woment seized, frozen in shock.
“How do you know--.”
“I saw you with Miss. Delacour, Y/n,” Snape peers down at her with visible frustration. “Why would you risk such a thing? If you had been caught--.”
“But I wasn’t, Severus,” she interrupts, eyes flicking to the door in fear someone was listening, but then she remembered the spell he cast. “I was careful. You should know better than to underestimate me. And to answer your question….” she turned away from him, hands on her hips as she turned her focus to the woods beyond her window. “I don’t know what possessed me to do what I did--It just happened. Maybe it’s the fact the Weasley’s are distant family. Or because I fucking hate Greyback.” She throws her hands up in defeat,  “Or I want the Order to have all its members to better their chances at winning this damn war. Maybe…” her hands fall back to her sides, “deep down there’s some humanity left in me.” The words were so low it was barely a whisper. Y/n shook her head, the speck of softness replaced with disinterest.
“Whatever it was,” turning back to him, Y/n narrows her eyes in warning. “It’s no longer our concern. Dumbledore is dead, you killed him.” footsteps echo against the wood as she approaches Snape, noticing his expression change at the mention of the headmaster. “He will be plotting his next move. We need to remain focused--I expect his attention will be on us more now given the circumstances.”
Snape knows she’s right. Killing Albus only shined a spotlight on him, and in turn on Y/n. He was now labeled public enemy #1 in the eyes of the Order. Voldemort himself will likely turn to Snape. They will have to up their game, continuing the act of a happy couple. Well happy as one can be in the middle of a war.
That summer was endless torture following the Headmaster’s death. Y/n not only had to deal with Voldemort growing stronger, but also the return of Lucius from Azkaban. It did bring the witch great joy to see the dark circles beneath his eyes and matted hair. One year in prison did a number on him.
Lucky for Lucius it was only one year. Had it been 15 like Y/n, he’d surely gone mad. Thankfully the two rarely saw each other. Not long after his release following Dumbledore’s death Y/n moved into Severus' home. Only returning to the mansion when necessary.
At every Death Eater meeting Y/n had to fight yawning with how bored she was, keeping her expression blank even when addressed by Voldermort from time to time. The man wasn’t blind. Well aware the youngest Black was not as forthcoming with her praises to him like Bellatrix. Never voicing her opinions, while also keeping any objections to herself like a smart person would do. He never fully trusted her. Even though she was married to one of his most trusted advisors, something in the back of his mind told Voldemort she’d be the first to turn on him. Without proof, Voldemort kept a close eye.
The meeting tonight was just like any other. Seated at the massive dining table in Malfoy Manor, Voldemort at the head while the Black’s and Malfoy’s flanked to the right. Y/n seated beside Draco, far from her sisters. Very telling of her attitude towards them.
Severus was the last to arrive, dark cloak tailing behind him. His entrance caught everyone’s attention, while his was on his colleague hanging in the air. Muggle studies professor Charity Burbage. The wounds on her body indicated she had been subjected to torture.
“Severus,” Voldemort greeted, “I was beginning to worry you had lost your way. Come. We’ve saved you a seat.” The headmaster took claim to the only free chair at the table, bidding a look to his wife, to which she slightly shook her head. Silently saying, “I had no part in this.”
Voldemort then said, Do you bring news, I trust?”
“It will happen Saturday next, at nightfall.”
“I’ve heard differently, my Lord,” Yaxley interrupted at the other end of the table, then proceeds to say he believes Harry will be moved at the end of the month. The 30th of July. The day before his 17th birthday.
“This is a false trail,” Snape insists. “The auror office no longer plays any part in the protection of Harry Potter. “Those closest to him believe we have infiltrated the ministry.”
The Death Eater seated beside Y/n laughed, “Well, they got that right aren’t they.” Several at the table joined in the laughter. The youngest Black’s expression was tight, plastered with annoyance.
“What’s say you, Pius?” Voldemort addresses the man seated at the opposite head of the table.
Nagini curled herself next to the chair as he answered, “One hears many things, my Lord. Whether the truth is among them is not clear.” Voldemort chuckles.
“Spoken like a true politician. You will, I think, prove most useful, Pius.” The Death Eater appears pleased by the compliment. Voldemort turns back to Snape, “Where will he be taken, the boy?”
“To a safe house. Most likely the home of someone in the Order. I’m told it’s been given every manner of protection possible, once there it will be impractical to attack him.”
Suddenly the conversation is interrupted by Bellatrix. “My Lord, I’d like to volunteer myself for this task.” She leans against the table, voice dropping, “I want to kill the boy.”
“Of course you would,” Y/n thinks to herself, holding back the urge to roll her eyes. Frankly she found her sister to be stupid to ask such a thing. Considering Voldemort mentions his desire to kill Harry Potter everyday. And with the prophecy, there’s no way he’d allow anyone else the opportunity to do the deed.
In the back, Charity let out a haunting groan, causing Voldermort to shout, “Wormtail! Have I not spoken to you about keeping our guest’s quiet?”
“Yes, my Lord,” the man spoke with urgency. “Right away, my Lord.” As he scurried off, Voldemort returned his attention to Bellatrix.
“As inspiring as I find your bloodlust, Bellatrix,” the hope was clear in her eyes, disappearing with his next words. “I must be the one to kill Harry Potter.” With that she curled back into her seat, Y/n’s lips raising in a satisfied smirk.
“But,” he rises from his chair, “I face an unfortunate complication.” As much as Y/n wanted to tune out this conversation, the nature of it was hard to dismiss. Especiall when the man walked behind the chairs on her side of the table. Brushing past her sisters before ending beside Lucius. There was satisfaction seeing him visibly afraid of Voldemort. A smirk on her lips when he was to give up his wand, a wizard’s most prized possession.
Her expression shifted when Charity’s brought to the center of the table. Death Eaters laughing at her despair and cringing with disgust at her profession. Y/n moves her gaze to Severus, who’s emotionless to Charity’s pleas. Then when the woman’s killed and her body drops to the table, Y/n lifts her hand to grasp Draco’s wrist. Squeezing it in warning for him to control himself when she sees his distraught state in the corner of her eyes.
The action surprises the boy. Draco sucking in a breath and forcing himself to relax. Once he does, Y/n removes her touch and waits to be dismissed by Voldemort. As soon as the order is given she’s quick to leave the table, taking Snape’s outstretched hand where he apparates them back home.
“How do you plan--?” he doesn’t let her finish the question.
“I have it covered.” Moving to his study, he hears her footsteps behind him, Y/n slamming the door shut once they’ve entered. He looked annoyed, “This doesn’t concern you.”
“The hell it does!” she shouted, making him clench his jaw. Ever since the incident at the Astronomy tower the two had been on edge with each other. For one, the Order discovered their marriage causing Y/n to lose her shit. Now she was public enemy #2 in their eyes. Or 3 if you count Voldermort at the top. Her odds of the Order leaving her the fuck alone decreased immensly.
Second, Snape told her of his and Dumbledore’s arrangement. That the headmaster asked Snape to kill him. A secret Y/n had trouble wrapping her head around and prayed to a higher power no one, especially Bellatrix, found out about.
Crossing over to him where he stood at his desk, Y/n caught his wrist to make him look at her. “In case you have forgotten, dear husband, we are playing both sides right now. You say you want to protect Harry Potter…just how do you plan to do that during an ambush you helped orchestrate? What the hell are we supposed to do if Harry Potter dies at his hands Saturday next?” Y/n squeezed his wrist tighter, “I’m putting all my trust into Severus Snape. You promised me my freedom when this was all over.”
“I haven’t forgotten, Y/n,” he removes himself from her grip, “You say you trust me. Do so, and you won’t be let down.”
Y/n didn’t know where it all went wrong. One moment she was flying in the sky, the next she’s being rammed into by Bill Weasley’s Thestral. Pain erupted in her chest, likely from a broken rib and caught herself on the creature's satchel. Her hand is then grabbed by the imposter Harry seated behind Bill, keeping Y/n steady to prevent falling to her death. Using her talent of legitimins, Y/n identifies the imposter as Bill’s fiance Fluer.
“You’re not Harry Potter,” she whispers, causing Harry (Fluer) to widen her eyes. The accusation was confirmed when Fluer’s voice responded, “How did you know?” Before Y/n could answer, however, the world around her became black. Having been stunned by Bill who realized what was happening behind him.
Acting fast, Fluer reached with her other hand to further grasp Y/n’s now limp body onto the Thestral.
“What are you doing?” Bill shouted over the chaos, “She’s one of them!”
“And she saved your life in the Astronomy tower, William!” Fluer screamed back. Using all her might, she hauled Y/n over the bottom half of the creature. Gripping the material of her robes and dress while ducking at the incoming curses around them.
When they finally made it to the Burrow, the shaky landing caused Fluer to lose her hold. Y/n fell to the ground, still unconscious. Bruises were sure to form on her body. Bill leaped off the Thestral, helped Fluer off and rushed to Y/n. After confirming she was alive by pressing his fingers to her pulse, the oldest Weasley took the death eater into his arms and followed Fluer into the house. But not before telling Fluer to take her wand which had been discarded into a ditch.
“Wait here,” he said, placing Y/n in the care of Fluer by setting her on a bench outside the door, Bill entered to find the others gathered around an injured George. After the shock wore off of his brother’s state, Bill announced the death of Mad-eye and departure of Mundungus. Deepening the already intense mood.
“There’s something else,” he hesitated, eyes flickering to find everyone staring at him with unease. They watched Bill exit the house, only to return a second later dragging the last person they ever expected. Gasps rang out, wands drawn in Y/n’s direction. The witch barely conscious but fighting against Bill’s hold. Eventually succumbing to sleep once again due to the pounding in her head.
With the help of Remus, the two propped Y/n in a chair, casting a spell to bind her hands and legs. “Where’s her wand?” Remus urgently looked around, relieved to see the object in Fluer’s possession. He turned to Bill, “What the hell happened?”
As the oldest Weasley explained, Molly approached the woman, assessing her carefully. Y/n had dirt and grime in her hair. A small cut to her temple. Likely from a rock when she fell from the Threstral. Her breathing was shaky, pained groans escaping her mouth which Molly assumed was from trauma to her chest. Although the others were against it, Molly began performing healing spells on Y/n, “Had it not been for her my son would be dead! I do not care what side she is on--I shall offer the same courtesy.”
The group was alerted to Y/n’s consciousness twenty minutes later when she groaned. Shifting in the chair, her eyelids fluttered briefly before opening to bright lights. Moaning, Y/n straightened up aware of the audience in front of her, however she did not appear concerned. Even with several wands pointing at her. “Hmmmph,” she blinks a few times, settling her gaze on Remus, “what an unpleasant situation we have here. I hoped to be dead before experiencing this.”
It pained Remus to hear her words. Thinking back to that little girl he’d met on the corner of Diagon Alley with James, perched on Sirius’ hip. That little girl was gone. In her place was a woman with the Devil on her shoulder. “We don’t want to hurt you, Y/n.”
Tilting her head as though she found his statement funny, she replies “Is that supposed to make me feel at ease?” rolling her eyes she adds, “Surely you could’ve come up with something better.”
Remus sighed, realizing it was about to be a long night. “We’re willing to negotiate terms if you provide us with information. A lesser sentence if you will,” he chose his next words carefully, seeing her demenor shift, “so long as you are upfront and answer all of our questions with honesty.” Y/n’s face tightened, no longer humored. Remus felt his stomach lurch, not breaking the intense eye contact she set with him.
“You threaten me--.”
“It’s not a threat--,” he insists but Y/n continues.
“With a cell in Azkaban and expect me to comply? By being a snitch?” she shakes her head, eyes full of fury. “Go to hell, Remus Lupin.”
“It doesn’t have to be this way.”
“Oh?” She grumbles with a glare, “and how else do you suggest it be? I’m not stupid--a tad mad if we want to get technical, but you all have yourselves to blame for that.” Y/n was referring to the Order not taking her in during the First Wizarding War. Sirius warned them of his family and the Death Eaters recruiting her at a young age. Yet no attempt to protect Y/n was initiated.
The werewolf’s face fell, “Had we known--.”
“Known what?!” She jumped forward in her chair as the dam of pent up resentment and anger broke, making several flinch at the sudden movement. A few wands pointed up but she paid them no mind. “That I’d become a Death Eater against my will? That I’d be forced to use the Cruciatus Curse on the Longbottoms or face my sister’s wrath?” She spat with ferocity. Pupils nearly pitch black it made her appear demonic. “You knew what my family was like! Sirius knew--It’s why he left! And you did nothing to save me.” Leaning back in the chair, Y/n finished with, “Go ahead and kill me. I’m not telling you shit.”
Remus runs a hand through his hair, his patience running thin and stress levels rising. “Y/n, I’m trying to help you here. We’re giving you the opportunity to avoid a lifetime in jail if you help us--help us end this war.” When his efforts are exhausted Remus gestures to the man behind him, “Kingsley has Veritaserum and we will use it if necessary.”  Now this has her smirking, chin raising in challenge.
“Go ahead,” her voice lowers an octave, sending chills along his arms, “I welcome you to.” Weary of her acceptance, the adult members of the Order all exchange looks before Kingsley approaches. Y/n tilts her head back, watching Kingsley unscrew the vial and pour the tiny amount of liquid onto her tongue. Once it’s entered her stream, the woman cracks her neck and returns her attention to Remus.
He clasped his hands in his lap, leaning in his chair. “How’d you know about tonight?”
Y/n pretends to think, “I think I saw an advertisement in the Daily Prophet. Yeah,” she nods her head, acting serious. “That was it.”
Remus’s own head falls to his chest, the others visibly confused. The potion was to make her tell the truth. Pretty much against her will. Thinking it may have not settled in yet, Remus asks another question. “Who told him we were moving Harry?”
Deciding to play along, Y/n shrugs her shoulders, “Yaxley.” Lie. She held back a chuckle at his confused reaction.
“How did he know?”
“Overheard it.” Lie.
“Where?”
“Diagon Alley I assume.” Lie.
“From who?”
“I don’t know.” Lie.
“But he’s the one who told Voldemort.” Y/n rolled her eyes at that, gesturing to her binded hands.
“Obviously since we’re sitting in this predicament.” She sees the frustration on Remus, as well as the others. Yet, the witch couldn’t help but feel entertained. “Anything else?”
“What’s your relationship to Severus Snape?”
“He’s my husband,” She didn’t miss the way the Order reacted to the news. Upset but not surprised. No point in lying. They already knew about their marriage from what Snape told her. The truth of why, however, was still a secret.
“Why did he kill Dumbledore?” Harry stepped forward, drawing her attention to him. Anger was written all over his face. Filled with absolute hatred. Something Y/n had expected when her husband murdered the man he looked up to.
“You were there, right?” she asked, head tilting with curiosity. “Snape mentioned you’d been below the observatory deck.” Tsking, Y/n surveyed him. She was getting under his skin. “Why do you think he did it?”
“I think he did it to save himself. He was a coward,” Harry saw the way her face tightened. Taking offense to his words. A mere speck of what someone could label as affection or respect to her spouse.
“Severus Snape is many things,” she sounded sinister, anger seeping off every word. “But a coward is not one of them.”
“Fat lot of good coming from you.” Harry antagonized her. “You hightailed it out of the ministry when Sirius died. He was your own cousin.”
“My cousin who left me a sitting duck for the wolves,” Y/n reminded the boy, temper rising. An indicator with how her voice was strained. “Let’s not forget you all thought he was responsible for betraying your parents. Didn’t even hesitate to believe he was guilty.” That cut them all deep. “And I adored Sirius at one point in life. Much like you, Harry Potter,” she let out a deep sigh, attempting to calm herself, “look at where it got me.” Exhaustion was beginning to take over the witch. Her body ached and there was a pounding in her head. Molly’s healing spells worked to patch any internal injuries Y/n had, but she still was drained from the whole ordeal.
They were getting off track. Having had enough of the tension, Remus butted in, “Answer the question, Y/n. Why did Snape kill Dumbledore?”
“I don’t know,” she simply stated. Lie. “He didn’t say. Although…I can only assume it was to spare my poor nephew.” Another shrug, “And survive the unbreakable vow. Which you already know of.”
Harry shook his head, “I don’t believe you.” His gut was telling him there was more to the story.
“Harry, she took the Veritaserum,” Hermoine pointed out gently, missing the flicker of amusement from Y/n. “She’s telling the truth.”
“Hermoine’s right, Harry,” Ron agreed, moving beside his friend. “There’s no way she could be lying.”
“How much did you give her, Kingsley?” Arthur questioned, also suspicious of Y/n’s answers. Kingsley held up the vial. More than half was consumed.
“Enough.”
“Something’s off,” he murmured, rubbing his chin. A bickering match ensued between members of the Order. Harry, Arthur, and even Y/n’s niece, Tonks, had difficulty believing Y/n told the truth. The majority, however, voiced opposition.
“Veritaserum is a very potent and strong potion, Harry,” Remus stood from his chair, but before he could say anything else, Y/n’s voice took over.
“Which you just wasted.”
Silence consumes the room. Processing what she said. That’s not possible.
Heads turning to the witch, Y/n starts to chuckle in delight. A sight unnerving to the Order as it becomes more deranged. Harry looked to his friends for an answer, but they were just as perplexed as him. Y/n’s voice turns taunting, “Oh my, you lot really are daft at times. Have you forgotten? Or did you believe it to be a rumor?” Her grin is wicked, finding the scene entertaining much to their dismay. “I’m a skilled Occulmens.”
It was as though the dementors arrived with how cold the air became. Everyone falters, stilling at the revelation. It could only mean one thing:
Everything Y/n said potentially was a lie.
The Death Eater tsked, “What do you think I did with all that time I had rotting in the middle of the ocean?” she laughs again, more menacingly. “Your little potion is useless! My mind is more protected than Azkaban. For all you know I fabricated everything I just told you.” Her taunting laugh continues, shredding the last ounce of patience the Order had for her.
Remus kneeled in front of her chair and smacked the table, causing everyone besides Y/n to flinch. “Enough of these games! I have tried to give you the benefit of the doubt knowing you’d been forced into this life, but you have proven to be not so different from your associates.” Now that was a nail to the coffin. Any and all of Remus’s hope for Y/n having some level of good in her gone. “This is your final warning--or we will throw you in Azkaban for the rest of your life for good!”
Never straying her stare, the Death Eater murmered cooly, “You have no idea how reasonable I’ve been.” This time it was Remus’s turn to scoff.
“Holding children hostage at the Ministry, attacking Hogwarts, marrying Snape, and sending assassins after the officials who locked you up,” He lists off, surprising the Order with the last detail. They had heard rumors of Azkaban guards and Ministry officials killed in the last few months, but assumed it was Bellatrix. “I don’t see how that’s being reasonable.”
Y/n gave a sound that was a mix of a chuckle and scoff, leaning forward in her chair. “Sending those assassins after them instead of myself was mercy.” A chill rose, Harry’s intuition telling him something was about to happen. “And despite your hypocrises and insults I have warned you time and time again to simply get out of my way.” Remus saw her hands fidget, tightening his grip on his wand.
“You’ve exhausted my patience,” Her voice lowered once more, almost to a whisper as her bottom lip quivered. “But I do hope you understand…that even now--with what’s about to happen…..” lips curled into a deathly smirk. “This is me being…reasonable.”
Faster than the speed of light, Y/n casts a non-verble, wandless spell that mimics a gust a powerful wind, ripping the binds off her hands and ankles. Remus flies onto his back, the lights flicker and burst. The windows and glass shatter. Papers fly. Hermoine screams, echoing amongst the shouts as Ron pulls her into his arms. Molly leaning over an injured George to protect him from shards.
Fluer gasps at the feeling of Y/n’s wand in her hand ripped from her. The death eater had snapped her fingers in the chaos with a non-verbal Accio.
With her wand now in her possession, Y/n unleashes another bout of wind, crippling the Order from attacking her. Once satisfied she makes her escape. Black smoke fills the room before flying out the window and into the night sky. The storm inside the burrow seizing.
“What the bloody hell was that?” Ron coughs, catching his breath.
“That,” Kingsley stands up straight, sore from colliding with the wall which knocked him down. “Was the closest thing to experiencing the Devil on Earth.”

You walk into Snape's classroom and lean against the wall as you listen to him speak before the class is dismissed and you watch the students quickly escape the room. "Miss L/n, do you know it is rude to walk in during one of my leasons."
You scoff, holding your hand up. "Silence, you uneducated peanut." Severus stares at you with a cold expression, not impressed with your words.
"Do you need something, Miss L/n? Or are you here to waste my time." You ignore his coldness and move closer to him.
"Yes, Professor Snape. I'm here for your answer to my question." You stare and he moves away. "You know the one about dinner tonight?"
Severus turns dramatically, a blank expression on his face. "No, Miss L/n and I will continue to say no."
You pout, but Severus doesn't budge. He stares you down until you sigh and turn to leave. "Okay."

She could hear his voice well before he could darken the outer edge of her peripheral.
"Well, well, isn't it splendid to witness the embodiment of incompetence on display during your inaugural day at Hogwarts." He snatched away her wand, not even looking at her as he took in the absolute state of the classroom before them. Windswept papers could be seen everywhere as rowdy children's voices echoed and wild birds flitted across overhead.
Her now empty hands fell at her sides. "Professor Snape, I-"
"Clearly, chaos and confusion have become your faithful companions, as your ineptitude shines brighter than the stars at night." His black eyes now fell on her, smouldering but for the flat expression on his pale haughty face. "I have taken the liberty of arranging a replacement for you - someone who possesses the necessary skills to salvage this disastrous excuse of an educational experience."
"I beg your pardon?" Her face grew hot with embarrassment as her head snapped up to meet his gaze. "Before jumping to quick conclusions, Professor, may I implore you to perhaps momentarily entertain the outrageous notion I might just have it under control?"
He scoffed at that, the creases between his eyebrows deepened as the muscles in his jaw tensed. "Follow me to my office." A low warning.
She was in trouble.
Severus whipped around, leaving her nothing but to swiftly pursue his long strides into the hallway like a well-trained pup. As she paused to close the heavy door behind them, he too came to a halt and leaned in towards her. For a moment, his warm breath tenderly touched her neck and played with loose tresses which had escaped her braid. Then he added in a venomous hush; "Prepare yourself for a lesson in humility and discipline, Professor. You seem sorely in need of both."
She stiffened, her heart thumped forcefully in her chest.

Unfortunately events lead to fortunate circumstances
(Hi this is my first fanfic I just really love Severus and I had an idea I want to put out so yeah I hope you enjoy this a oc so just change it if you don’t like it also a Severus x female original character and I suck at writing so if there’s bad grammar or spelling I’m sorry:,( also I was thinking of making it a whole series with angst and smut ? Let me know)
The sixth year was about to start with less than two days to go before Severus was off to hogwarts. At home he was miserable with an abusive father and an absent mother he never truly felt at home hogwarts was more of a home to him if only James potter and his insufferable dimwitted friends weren’t there it would be paradise but unfortunately Severus was never truly free always on guard always in his head full of doubt and misery. Before he new it he was on the train off to hogwarts he had woken up extra early and had previously prepared all his belongings nothing new all his old used supplies and books but he was prepared and ready to leave before his father had awakened and started his usual routine of violence and alcohol. On the train Severus was alone sat at the every end as far away from any one. He didn’t really have friends well not any more but one men Lucius Malfoy and his girlfriend Narcissa Black both being pure bloods and coming from rich and respectable families he didn’t truly trust them but it was as close to friendship as he had. He once had a friend a true friend Lily Evans was her name he had meet her one day at his father’s house she was in his eyes misunderstood like him and when they both received their letters of acceptance to Hogwarts. He was more than delighted. He was glad he didn’t have to face this road of magic without someone by his side and she truly was by his side. That is up to the fifth year when Severus had to open his mouth and call her a mud blood which ruined their friendship forever. At first he believed it wasn’t a big deal and that this truly couldn’t ruin a friendship that had last years but before he knew it she was gone as if they were never were friends as if they had never laughed together as if it never meant nothing to her and that hurt Severus he had once thought that maybe she could fall in love with him like he was in love with her but once more unfortunately for him that was not possible because lily already had her eyes on the same guy who made Severus school life a living hell none other than James potter himself.
As Severus sat alone remembering her smile so bright her eyes so green and pure her hair so red like fire as he’s lost in thought he was shaken from his daydreaming by a voice soft and quiet . Angrily he looks up and sees a girl with green hair brown sunken eyes and a chubby figure standing at the entrance she clears her voice and ask him if she may sit here at first he wanted to say no so he can be left alone again with his thought and dreams but on closer inspection he could see she was crying. He felt a tight sting in his chest his mouth open before he could think “ yes “ he said softly as if he spoke any louder she may run away. She sat far away from him and on other side. Quietly she read her book he could make out Frankenstein as the title. He kept staring at her intrigued he had never seen her before and she spoke with an American accent she was still sniffling drying her eyes from the tears she had shed. she looked like she hadn’t slept in a couple days , her hair was frizz and long but the oddest thing for him was she was dress in mugle clothing and she was reading a mugle book. Before he knew it they had arrived as fast a lightning she had gathered her stuff and was out the door he didn’t get a chance to gather the courage to ask for her name.
He made his way to the great hall where everyone that wasn’t new had been instructed to meet there he sat in his usual spot at the far end of the table reading his potions book, but secretly keeping an eye out for Lily. And there she was walking in laughing happily with James by her side smiling like an idiot in love right behind them are Sirius black and Remus lupin. Severus didn’t like Sirius at all much like James he was a bully but Remus wasn’t the same he had just chosen to stare and look as his so called friends humiliated, and belittle him no Remus was far worse than both of them in Severus opinion.
Soon after they were all sat came in Lucius Malfoy and his posse of Slytherin baboons. Lucius makes eye contact with Severus and choose to sit next to him “ Severus how was your vacation? No need to ask me you already know father took us to America were we stayed in the most expensive and lavish manner you should come with us next time is was much fun” . Severus just smiles shyly “ maybe next time “ he says with a deep and shy voice but doesn’t mean it he knew Lucius only said that to make himself feel better and doesn’t truly mean it. All of a sudden everyone goes quiet at the sound of head master Dumbledore voice roaring though the walls “Welcome black young wizard and witches it brings me great joy to be see each and everyone of you I assume everybody knows we have new faces young mind to help I ask we all be kind to the new comers and please if you see someone lost in these great halls remember how overwhelming it was for your first year here, try and lend a hand. without further a do let’s begin the sorting ceremony” everyone applauds and a line of new first year arrival everyone walking to the front forming a line in front of Dumbledore.
At the very end there she was talking with Hagrid she seemed nervous Severus made eye contact with her and she gave a small smile his way. Lucius asked Severus if he new her automatically he denied even seeing her smile acting as if he wasn’t interested in the sorting of the young minds as Dumbledore would say it he kept his head down in his potions book reading away at the already read words and scribbles he made.
“ Rose Evergreen come on no need to be afraid “ called out Dumbledore at the sound of that name Severus shoot his head up intrigued at the name “Rose “ Severus repeated. It suits her he thought watching as she sat under the hat waiting for the announcement of what house she would be sorted in she looked nervous and shy, her eyes still sunken, but no longer red from the tears “ Slytherin “ called the sorting hat and our table erupted in applauses and cheers. A part of me was happy maybe she would be my friend after all she’s new and doesn’t know of my reputation spread by James Potter all lies of course but none the less she’s in my house and new i have a chance he thought. She made her way to the black of the table right in front of Severus and asked if she can sit “ I suppose “ said Severus not even making eye contact. “ welcome Rose Evergreen being in Slytherin is an honor my name is Lucius Malfoy it’s a pleasure to meet you” Rose shook his hand “ thank you the pleasures all mine” Rose said in a quiet voice but loud enough to be heard Severus still avoiding eye contact choosing to ignore her and that’s how it went for the remainder of the time until the bell rang and everyone was to go to there house but Rose stayed seated “ we have to go to our rooms now” said Severus “ headmaster Dumbledore asked me to stay behind once I was done eating” Rose said now she was not making eye contact with him he didn’t like it he wanted to meet her eyes but before he could ask her what classes she had to try and make conversation with her.
headmaster Dumbledore called out “ oh perfect Severus just the lad I was looking for I’m glad you too are getting to know each other I was going to ask you Severus if you want to make a deal with me you see Rose here is quite behind since she is starting in her sixth year and I was wondering since you two will have the same classes and are in the same house if you could be her personal tutor of course you will be paid handsomely by her mother if that is what you desire or I may pay you in credits if you prefer considering you’re an excellent student, I think 2 Sickles every month would do better what do you say Severus?” Severus was speechless maybe he was meant to be her friend everything is lining up he doesn’t even have to try now they will be spending all their time together in no time they will be friends and he won’t be as alone he thought “yes 2 Sickle will be plenty I’ll take the deal “ and with that he shook hands with headmaster Dumbledore and looked at Rose she looked happy too and had a pink blush to her cheeks looking at him she said “thank you Severus I was told your the smartest of them all I can’t wait” he blushed at her compliment he couldn’t think of what to say and embarrassed that Dumbledore heard everything he just walked away to his room. Rose stood there wanting to follow him and keep talking with him maybe make him blush again he was cute when he blushed Dumbledore disturbed her thoughts ” he well do good in tutoring you now come with me I’ll show you to your room “

The sun dipped low over the turrets of Hogwarts, casting long shadows across the grounds. Inside the stone walls, the flickering fire in the staff room offered a warm glow against the encroaching evening chill. Y/N, a professor of Herbology, had just finished grading a stack of papers that now lay scattered across her desk like fallen leaves. She stretched, letting out a breathy sigh, and glanced at the clock on the wall. It was nearly time for dinner, but more importantly, it was nearly time to see Severus.
“Just a few more minutes,” she murmured to herself, running her fingers through her hair. The thought of Severus always made her smile. Their relationship had blossomed in the most unexpected way—two souls drawn together in the shadows of the castle, finding light in each other.
The heavy oak door creaked open, and in walked Severus Snape, his robes billowing slightly as he entered. The moment their eyes met, a spark ignited in the air between them, and Y/N felt her heart race.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice low and smooth, “you’re still here?”
“Of course I am,” she replied, trying to suppress the grin that tugged at her lips. “I was waiting for you.”
Severus raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement flickering in his dark eyes. “Waiting for me, or waiting for dinner?”
“Both, I suppose,” she laughed softly, letting the warmth of his presence envelop her like a favorite blanket.
He stepped closer, and she could smell the faint, familiar scent of potions and herbs on him, mixed with a hint of something uniquely Severus. “You should know that waiting for you is always worth it,” he said, his voice dropping to a whisper.
Her breath caught in her throat. “You say the sweetest things,” she replied, tilting her head slightly to meet his gaze.
With a gentle sweep of his hand, he brushed a stray hair behind her ear. “It’s the truth.”
Y/N felt her cheeks heat up as she leaned into his touch, feeling safe and cherished in this small moment. The fire crackled, snapping gently in the background, creating a cozy rhythm that matched the quickening beats of her heart.
“Shall we join the others for dinner?” Severus asked, his tone shifting slightly as he stepped back, breaking the momentary bubble they had created.
“Not just yet.” Y/N took a step closer, her fingers brushing against his. “I want a moment with you first.”
Severus hesitated, then nodded, a rare softness in his expression. “Very well.”
She led him to a nearby armchair, inviting him to sit. He settled down with a slight sigh, and she nestled beside him, resting her head against his shoulder. The warmth of his body radiated against her, and she closed her eyes, savoring the comfort of his presence.
“Tell me about your day,” he prompted, his voice rumbling gently.
“Well, I had an amusing encounter with a particularly stubborn Venomous Tentacula,” she began, recalling the chaotic scene earlier that afternoon. “It wouldn’t stop wriggling. I swear it was trying to escape my lesson plan.”
Severus chuckled, the sound deep and rich. “It seems you have your hands full,” he teased lightly.
“More than you know.” She laughed, the sound mingling with his, creating a warm harmony. “But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Teaching here is a dream.”
“And what about your dreams outside of teaching?” he asked, turning serious.
Y/N paused, glancing up at him. “You mean, like… our dreams?” she asked, a hint of vulnerability in her voice.
“Yes,” he said, searching her eyes. “What do you want?”
She hesitated, feeling the weight of the question. “I want… I want to create a life that feels warm and alive. I want to share it with someone who understands me.”
His gaze softened further, and he leaned in, brushing his lips against her forehead. “You have that with me, Y/N. I hope you know that.”
The tenderness in his words made her heart swell. “I do, Severus,” she replied, her voice a mere whisper. “I just sometimes worry about what tomorrow may bring.”
“Tomorrow is not our concern right now,” he said firmly, yet gently, pulling back to look at her. “Let’s focus on today.”
“Agreed,” she smiled, feeling lighter. “What do you want to do then?”
“I want to enjoy this moment,” he said, leaning closer again. “And maybe…”
Before she could respond, he captured her lips with his, a sweet, lingering kiss that sent butterflies dancing through her stomach. The world around them faded, and all that existed was the warmth of his mouth on hers, the taste of warmth and familiarity.
When they finally pulled apart, she was breathless. “That was—”
“Perfect,” he finished, a smirk playing on the corners of his mouth.
Just then, the door swung open again, and in walked Minerva McGonagall, her expression shifting from surprise to amusement as she caught sight of the pair.
“Goodness,” she exclaimed, her voice a mixture of mock horror and genuine delight. “Am I interrupting something?”
Y/N’s cheeks flushed as she pulled back from Severus, who merely raised an eyebrow at his colleague. “Not at all, Minerva,” he said dryly, the corner of his mouth betraying a hint of a smile.
“Just having a… moment,” Y/N added, her embarrassment turning into laughter. “Nothing scandalous, I promise.”
“I’m sure,” Minerva replied, a twinkle in her eye. “But I must say, it’s lovely to see the two of you together. Hogwarts could use a bit of warmth now and then.”
“Indeed,” Severus said, his tone surprisingly accommodating. “And what brings you here, Minerva?”
“I came to fetch you both for dinner,” she said, stepping further into the room. “Albus has prepared quite a feast, and he’s rather insistent we all join him.”
“Lead the way,” Y/N said, standing up and offering her hand to Severus, who took it with a slight nod.
As they walked together, fingers intertwined, Minerva couldn’t help but glance back at them. “You two are positively glowing,” she remarked, her expression softening. “It’s good for you, Severus.”
“Don’t make such a fuss, Minerva,” he replied, though the slight flush on his cheeks gave him away.
“Just stating the truth,” she said lightly, guiding them down the stone corridors lined with portraits that watched them with interest. “And don’t think I haven’t noticed how you’ve transformed, Severus. Love does wonders for a person.”
Y/N squeezed his hand tighter, feeling a rush of warmth surge through her. “I think you’re right,” she said, looking up at Severus, who seemed to ponder her words.
“I suppose it does,” he conceded, a hint of a smile breaking through his usual stoic demeanor.

Could I request anything fluffy with Severus Snape x reader?
(Man, I love Alan Rickman… c:)
Y/n sighs as she looks at the snow falling outside. Her eyes fell on the stack of papers that were right in front of her. It took everything in her not to doze off on the desk. Just as she was about to take another paper out of the stack there was a knock on the door. She frowns yet she gets up to open the door as the person behind continuously knocks "Easy easy be right there".
She opens the door and instantly there is a smile on her lips "If it isn't my favourite man" Severus quirks his brow and clears his throat "I am here to... invite you to watch the snow fall"
Y/n smirks "You want to watch the snowfall? Since when?" Severus sighs and grumbles "Are you coming or not"?
She takes her coat off the coat hanger "I am coming don't get your knickers in a twist", she yelps as Severus pinches her waist "Don't talk to me like that woman". Y/n scoffs and pinches him back "Don't pinch me like that". His hand moved to pinch her again but she slapped his hand away "Stop it", her heart fluttered when she heard him chuckle, that one singular sound made her weak.
Severus held her hand and gently tugged her out of the castle. Y/n couldn't help but giggle at how eager Severus was to see the snowfall. As soon as they stepped out Severus' eyes fell on her watching the snow fall on her hair and nose.
Y/n was too focused on enjoying the snowfall to notice Severus getting down on one knee. He cleared his throat and she felt her heart rate increase. Is this really happening?
"Y/n L/n, you have become the light in my life, the reason why I want to wake up the next morning and even though when I first met you I could barely tolerate your existence, now I can't imagine living a life without you. And I know I have not made it easier for you to tolerate me yet you do...so would you please spend the rest of my life, because I do not know what I would do without you, my love"
A soft sob leaves Y/n's lips "Yes...yes". She hugs him tightly, sighing softly as she felt his arms around her waist.
"Why are you crying"? Y/n chuckled at Severus' question "these are happy tears my love. I can't wait to spend my life with you". A shiver ran down her spine when she felt his cold nose on her neck.
Their private moment was interrupted by someone clearing their throat. Severus grumbled as he pulls away from the hug looking at the source of the sound. Dumbledore stood there with his arms behind his back. "I believe congratulations are in order."
Severus sneered at the Headmaster "what are you doing here"? Dumbledore chuckles lightly "You know Severus, I am everywhere and I was walking around and spotted you two I couldn't help but overhear your conversation."
"Stop being everywhere" Snape grumbled as his arm tightened around Y/n's waist. She placed her palm on his chest and speaks sternly "Severus"
Dumbledore's smile widens "this is great news we need a party-"
Before Dumbledore could even finish his sentence Severus waved his wand and vanished along with Y/n into thin air. The headmaster couldn't help but laugh before walking away towards the Hogwarts castle.

Could you please please write my idea: a Severus snape x student reader who’s in a secret relationship and like Harry her name gets tossed into the goblet of fire and she has to participate in the Triwizard tournament which leads to an argument between reader and snape (perhaps he doesn’t believe that she didn’t put her name there). Anyway, reader is there with Harry and Cedric when Voldemort kills Cedric and hurts reader (reader doesn’t die) maybe she asks Harry not to tell snape, scared of his reaction to her getting hurt and Harry doesn’t understand why you’d care if the potion master knows or not
And just a happy ending
Thank you in advance!
FIRE AND SHADOWS
hi sender! that’s a good one. i hope this meets your expectations!
pairing : prof!severus snape x student!reader
genre : fluff, a lil of angst
warning : -
summary : as in the request
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
your name being called from the goblet of fire sends a wave of stunned silence across the great hall. your chest tightens as every pair of eyes turns toward you. harry, sitting beside you, is already halfway to his feet, his face a mirror of your own shock.
this has to be a mistake.
the walk to the front feels endless, your legs moving on their own as dumbledore gestures for you to come forward. whispers echo behind you, growing louder with each step. you can feel the weight of severus snape’s gaze burning into your back from the staff table, heavy with something unreadable.
when you’re finally ushered into the champions’ chamber with harry, cedric, viktor, and fleur, your mind is a whirlwind of confusion and fear. you hadn’t put your name in the goblet. you hadn’t even entertained the thought.
later that evening, under the cover of darkness, you slip into the empty potions classroom where severus is waiting. his silhouette is rigid, standing near his desk.
the moment the door closes behind you, his voice cuts through the silence like a knife. “explain.”
“i didn’t put my name in the goblet,” you say immediately, your voice trembling.
he turns to face you, his dark eyes cold and piercing. “i’m not a fool who’ll fall for that.”
“severus, i swear, i didn’t—“
“do you expect me to believe that your name simply appeared in the goblet by some miracle?” he interrupts, his tone harsh and biting.
his words sting, and you take a step closer, your fists clenched at your sides. “i’m telling the truth. i don’t know how my name got in there!”
he begins pacing, his robes billowing behind him. “this is beyond reckless. do you have any idea the kind of danger you’ve just walked into? or is the attention worth the risk?”
“don’t you dare.” you snap, tears welling in your eyes. “don’t you dare accuse me of that.”
he stops abruptly, his face hard, but there’s a flicker of something softer in his expression, worry.
“you shouldn’t have been chosen,” he says finally, his voice quieter but no less intense. “you shouldn’t be a part of this.”
“do you think i wanted this?” your voice cracks as you take another step toward him. “i’m terrified, severus. i didn’t ask for any of this.”
his shoulders sag, and for a moment, he looks almost human, vulnerable in a way you rarely see.
“you will be alright,” he says after a long silence, his tone leaving no room for argument. “whether you wanted this or not, you will survive it. do you understand me?”
you nod, the lump in your throat making it impossible to speak.
the first task leaves you bruised and shaken, but alive. severus remains distant in public, his expression unreadable during the champion announcement and task preparations. but in private, his worry slips through the cracks. he critiques your strategies, slips protective potions into your hands, and silently lingers near you when you’re too exhausted to speak.
the second task is worse. he doesn’t speak to you directly afterward, but you notice how his dark eyes linger on you during meals, how his hands twitch as if he’s barely restraining himself from dragging you out of the tournament altogether.
the third task shatters everything.
the moment cedric’s body hits the ground, lifeless and cold, a scream tears through your throat. voldemort is there, his presence suffocating, and you barely register the curses flying around you.
you shield harry as best as you can, taking a curse meant for him. pain explodes through your body, but you grit your teeth and fight on, desperation driving you. when harry finally grabs the portkey, you collapse beside him on the field back at hogwarts.
the pain is unbearable, and blood stains your robes, but you clutch harry’s sleeve weakly. “don’t tell him,” you whisper.
“who?” harry’s voice is panicked.
“snape,” you murmur, your vision blurring. “don’t let him know.”
“why would snape...?” harry begins, but you black out before he can finish.
when you wake in the hospital wing, you’re greeted by the sight of severus storming in, his robes billowing around him. harry, sitting at your bedside, quickly stands and mutters something about getting madam pomfrey before scurrying away.
severus sits in the chair harry vacates, his hands trembling slightly as they hover over yours.
“why didn’t you tell me?” his voice is low, strained.
“i didn’t want you to be mad,” you admit weakly.
“mad??” he repeats, his voice rising slightly. “you think i care about anger when you nearly died? do you have any idea—
he cuts himself off, taking a deep breath. his fingers finally brush against yours, hesitant but firm.
“i can’t lose you.” he says quietly, his tone raw and vulnerable in a way you’ve never heard before.
“you won’t,” you whisper, squeezing his hand.
he stays with you until you fall asleep, his presence a steady comfort amidst the chaos. when you wake again, he’s still there, his head resting on the edge of your bed, his fingers loosely intertwined with yours.

hello! can i get a severus lazy sunday morning with the reader? 🖤
Severus Snape x Fem! Reader Tags: None. Word Count: 1.1k "You can stay right here. I'll call you when it's ready."
Tumblr media
It was the pattering of rain on the roof that initially woke Severus up. It drummed on the house and sprinkled across the windows. The trees outside rustled from the wind that whistled outside. He let out a slow exhale at the sound of the low rumbles of thunder rolling off in the distance.
Three days of solid rain was more than enough, and frankly, he was missing the sunshine. Nonetheless, there wasn't a thing he could do about the weather, so he supposed that griping about it wouldn't do him any good.
After all, it was hard to complain when there was a beautiful woman curled up next to him.
Severus was a bit of a stirrer in the mornings. He wasn't typically one to lounge around in bed, typically getting up and on his feet the moment that his eyes opened. But you, on the other hand, liked to gradually wake up instead of getting a fast start to your day. If there wasn't an immediate reason to get up, then you were more than likely going to stay snuggled in for a little while.
With that being said, he tried to keep his movements to a minimum to avoid waking you. He could bear staying wrapped up in the sheets if it meant you getting some extra rest. He was perfectly content with holding you close and watching the weather rage on outside through the window.
Unfortunately, he couldn't control the volume and intensity of the thunder that accompanied the rain. One booming crack of thunder spooked you awake with a hard flinch and a light gasp. The sudden reaction even made Severus jump a bit, his arms holding you tighter as a gesture of protection.
"It's all right," He nuzzled his nose into your hair, pressing a kiss just above the tip of your ear. "You're safe. It's just a storm."
His morning voice always sent a chill down your back. It was deeper than usual, groggy and sluggish. You relaxed at the sound of it, releasing a relieved sigh when you realized that your house wasn't being attacked by some outside force.
"Mm. Still raining I assume?" Your eyes fluttered closed again in an attempt to slow the hard thumping of your heart.
"Unfortunately." He grumbled, his focus on you instead of the storm.
"It's not all bad. I've had you all to myself for three days straight." You giggled, the sound of your laugh spreading a warmth over his chest.
"Darling, has there ever been a time where you didn't?" He answered.
He pushed some fallen strands of hair out of your eyes, a small smile appearing on his features as he admired your calm expression.
"Generally, no. But sometimes the duties of being a professor steals you away."
He couldn't deny that. Just being a professor could be overly demanding -- adding in being the head of Slytherin and some occasional administrative responsibilities could most definitely dry up the well of his free time.
Before he met you, he spent pretty much every night at the school in his personal chambers. He didn't see the need in traveling home every night (as easy and convenient as it might've been) if he had no real reason to. He spent all of his time at Hogwarts from September to June.
But after meeting you and having the pleasure and blessing of your lives intertwining, he had to learn how to balance his work life and personal life. Now, he traveled home almost every single night, unless he just couldn't get away from his office and/or classroom.
He did everything that he could to ensure that you were his top priority...although, sometimes he still fell short.
"We still have well over a month before the term starts," He remarked. "Plenty of time before my schedule gets overly full."
"What's on your schedule until then?" You asked, eyes opening just enough to peer up at him.
He let out a low chuckle when he kissed your temple, the vibrations running down your side and causing a brief tingle in your toes. He exhaled a satisfied hum when one of your legs settled between his.
"You."
Another roll of thunder rumbled, yet not quite as vigorous this time. You smiled at him, which caused a tint of a blush to appear on his cheek.
"Doesn't sound too busy then." You ran your index finger's knuckle across the apple of his cheek with a feather-like touch.
"Just the way I like it." He smirked.
A round of silence followed. The two of you were just enjoying each other's presence and taking advantage of the fact that you had absolutely nothing to do...not to mention having a great excuse not to come up with something to occupy your time.
The rain was relentless after all. Who in their right mind would want to go out in this kind of weather? It was a perfect setup for a day inside.
There were plenty of things to do around the house. The only problem was that you had already been doing them for three days now.
You could only take a crack at raiding and reading your entire library for so long. The house was spotless and lemony fresh, so cleaning was crossed off your list. You were looking forward to trying a new recipe for dinner, but you assumed that you still had an entire day to get through first.
"What time is it?" You asked, realizing that it could've been noon for all you knew.
Severus raised his head just enough to peek over you to get a glimpse of the alarm clock on the bedside table on your side.
"6:47." He answered.
"Oh, that is so early," You gawked. "I'm too awake to go back to sleep though."
"Shall I make us some breakfast then?" He suggested. "You can stay right here. I'll call you when it's ready."
"Pancakes? Coffee?" You asked, a glittering admiration for the man talking sweet to you shining over your face.
"Of course," He nodded. "Whatever you want, angel."
He peppered kisses across your nose and down your neck, bubbly giggles and squeaks sounding out from your chest. You managed to squeal out an "I love you" through laughter and shrills.
He couldn't understand how someone like you could love him so much. He liked to think that he had done something in his life to deserve some like you. But in reality, he knew that he was just plain lucky.
"I love you," He returned the endearment before whipping the covers off of the bed, ignoring your hiss of disapproval. "Pancakes are on the way."
Once he was on his feet, he pulled the covers back over you, chuckling at the way you shimmied further down with a gleeful whimper. He pressed a kiss to your forehead before leaving to whip up the best stack of pancakes you had ever tasted.
"Enjoy the rain, my love."
