You Know, You Know Where You Are 🚀 | Johnny Storm Imagine
Tumblr media
Marvel Masterlist | Part 2
Characters & Pairings: JQ!Johnny Storm x Earth-828!reader & Earth-616!reader
Content Warnings: angst, fluff, happy ending, best fiends to lovers, kinda sad, mentions of violence, spoilers for FF:FS, speculation for A:DD, reader has powers like Static from DC | female!reader (she/her) | wc: 2.7k
Premise: Johnny Storm was already coming to terms with adjusting to the reality he and his fellow Fantastic Four family landed in a parallel universe--one where superpowered heroes and villains were not so surprising as they protected the planet from domestic and intergalactic threats. But when a certain Avenger makes their grand appearance, Johnny begins to question his feelings toward the owner of her name and face a universe away. Someone he will stop at nothing to get back to, even if he dies trying.
songs that inspired this: Let Down by Radiohead & Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish. this will have a part 2!!
Tumblr media
“God, what would we do without you, Y/n?”
“Probably get yourselves killed,” she snorted, handing him a water bottle and towel to wipe the sweat off his face. Her eyes sparkled with mischief like they always did when they bantered, but underneath there was a softness reserved only for him. “Or worse, find yourselves in a place far far away.”
It was almost comical how those words seemed to surface the moment Johnny and his family were introduced to Sam Wilson's team of Avengers. And when she entered the room via materializing out of nowhere--scaring the shit out of the Four which immediately turned into shock, followed by grief. The reality of their situation sinking in.
They were in another world. They were far from home.
Just like she warned them.
“You’re late, Static,” Sam scolded, unaware of the reactions of the multiversal guests in the room. Reed felt his breath catch, Sue visibly teared up. Ben bore a disheartened look. And Johnny….Johnny was unable to put a word to describe what he was feeling.
“Johnny, please--.”
“Nothing is going to happen to us, doll. We’re space professionals at this point.”
“I know you think it’s silly, but my intuition has never failed and right now it’s screaming that you guys need to let this go. This anomaly Reed wants to find out there that’s connected to Doom…something isn’t right.” Her eyes pleaded with him, filled with a worry he’d never seen since they defeated Galactus four years prior, “Please, don’t go.”
He stood frozen. Feeling cold--which was ironic given the sun levels of heat bubbling within him. Like Sue, he felt himself wanting to tear up. A sinking in his chest as he stared at the woman beside Sam, bearing the identical face of someone the Four held dear to them, but so different.
In place of a lab coat and goggles was a tactical suit compiled of mechanics and weapons. Instead of a clipboard in her hand was a mask made of metal she initially detached when she arrived. Revealing her face to the newcomers which caused their brains to scramble.
“You know you’re my best friend, right?”
“I thought that title was reserved for Ben.”
“Ben is my brother--anyway back to the point--you’re my best friend, Y/n. And you know I’ll do anything to protect you. You don’t have to worry about us--Reed’s got everything under control, Sue will keep us in line as always, and Ben is the best damn pilot on the planet. And me? I bring the fire. Doom doesn’t stand a chance.”
And God, when she spoke, she sounded the same.
“Sorry, boss. Things were getting a little heated in Hell’s Kitchen.”
“Everything cleared and secured?”
She gave a salute, “As always. No casualties, no inconveniences." Sam appeared pleased, nodding and moving his attention back to the center table where their plans for a strategy were drawn up.
Johnny let out a shudder breath--which pretty much was a strangled gasp, loud enough to draw everyone’s gaze toward them. Who all quickly pieced together the Four’s stares were directed at their recent arrival.
“Uhhh,” she straightened her posture upon glancing up to see the newcomers, four men and a woman, one man with an orange rocky exterior whose build could rival Bruce in Hulk form. A lanky gentleman with salt and pepper hair like Strange, and two blondes with similar features. Both with sparkling blue eyes that could put even the shiniest sapphires to shame. Their suits were matching white and blue, retro styled and ribbed. They stood out compared to the swarm of latex and leather tactical suits holstering dozens of machinery.
Oblivious to the group's goggling and scanning each of their faces, unable to decipher if they came in peace or were a threat, Y/n’s head tilts with confusion, “Hi?” When none of them responded, she leaned toward Sam, whispering, “why are they staring at me like that?” Eyes flickering to the group and back, she added, “Oh, and who are they?”
Sam assessed the Four, frowning when he came to a theory he wasn’t sure he wanted to voice. “This is the Fantastic Four, Static. They’re from Earth-828--entered our universe last week.”
Static released a sound, followed by a nod. “So they were the odd-shaped spaceship I saw on the news.” Come to think of it, she recognized the distinct 4 on their suits. “That doesn’t answer why they are staring at me like I just slaughtered a herd of children.”
Bucky grumbled at her choice of words, pinching the pinch of his nose like a tired father.
Johnny, however, couldn’t stop the name from leaving his lips, filled with the emotion he was battling beneath his skin. “Y/n.”
That shot her eyebrows to her hairline, eyes bulging. “Oh, that’s a plot twist.” It dawned on her then what their reactions to her indicated. The shock remained on her face as she leveled it on Sam, “Thanks for the head’s up, Cap.”
Sam shot her a look, “We didn’t know until just now, L/n.” He turned to address the Four, keeping his tone calm as he proceeded with caution. They’d been dealing with variates and alternate personas now that they discovered Victor von Doom bore the same face as their late friend, Tony Stark. Therefore, the Captain expected at some point they’d connect one of their own to a variant of the other team's world.
“Guys, meet Static,” he introduced carefully, noting the way their brows pinched, face consorting to light frowns. “Or, as you might know her as, Y/n L/n.”
Y/n, still processing the revelation as it unfolded before her, gave an awkward wave to the stunned heroes. “Pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Her hand dropped to her side when none of them waved back, their brains scattered. “So, um,” scratching her chin she clicked her teeth. “I take it you have a version of me from where you came from?”
Reed, blinking rapidly to pull himself from his thoughts, stepped forward with a nod. “Yes. Yes we do.”
“Cool,” was her reply, pausing briefly to lick her lips as she tilted her head with curiosity. “So…who was I? To you?” There was no denying it fascinated the Avenger that she existed in parallel universes. Since discovering the multiverse, Y/n wondered what other versions of her were out there and who they were in those worlds.
Was she a hero? A villain? A regular civilian with no ties to the life of saving the universe?
Was she a scientist? A shop owner? Did she have multiple degrees or did she flunk out of school?
A million questions, a million possibilities. Now here in the flesh was an opening to one of those questions. And boy did she want to know.
Reed answered first, “You’re my collaborator.” At her puzzled reaction, Sue gently added, “You’re a brilliant scientist--one we’ve had the honor of working with for years.” What she wanted to also say was, “We wouldn’t be the Fantastic Four without you always being there to catch us when we fall.” Because at the end of the day, Sue may have been the heart of the family, but Y/n was the glue that kept them together.
She’d talk down Reed when he’d overthink. She’d assure Sue of her concerns, validating her feelings. She’d bring out the soft side of Ben when his walls were built. And she’d be the shoulder for Johnny to lean on when the weight of the world came crumbling down.
Next came Ben, offering a hesitant smile, “You’re family to us,” and her face softened at the words. Feeling the weight of them as the rest of their expressions matched his.
Finally, her eyes traveled to Johnny. And when he finally found his voice, all he could utter was a weak, “You’re my best friend.”
After introductions, long hours of strategizing, and a dinner consisting of Chinese takeout, Johnny sat on the balcony of floor 82 overlooking the New York skyline. It felt strange. Gazing down at the city vastly different from the one he grew up in. Of course, it still held the same chaotic, fast-paced environment, but it lacked the things that made his New York home.
No flying police cars. No boxed televisions. Hardly any payphones. And instead of people engaging in conversations as they walked down the streets, they were glued to hand held devices.
Then there was Y/n. The Y/n of Earth-616. After the initial meeting between the Fantastic Four and the variant of their dear friend back home, Johnny located a computer to do a little digging. And the internet was happy to deliver.
In the short few minutes it took to google her name, Johnny learned the hero had been a recruit of Tony Stark to the Avengers in 2015 during the team's infiltration of Hydra installations. After she’d been orphaned as a child, the group captured her for experimentation, where she was exposed to high levels of radiation granting her the powers of manipulating electromagnetism. And when she joined the Avengers, assisting them in their operations of saving the world from domestic and intergalactic threats, they dubbed her Static. As when she phased or used her powers, a red and blue hue ignited around her along with a crackling sound, like a television static during an interference.
She was a walking electric current. Able to drain batteries, powerlines, electrocute people upon touch. Like Sue, she can generate forcefields. One article stated she had the ability to sense electromagnetic energy. Another read her power pretty much linked her to the electromagnetic fields of both the sun and Earth. And given electricity ran through the heart, chances are she’d be able to stop or restart the vessel. Making her not only an important ally, but a dangerous threat.
Even Professor X, leader of the superhuman species called mutants from Earth-10005, says her power would label her an Omega-level mutant in their world.
The more Johnny read about Y/n--Static--the more he felt far from his Y/n back home. The two were so different from one another. They shared a name and face, but their history and lives went separate directions. On opposite spectrums really.
Dr. L/n was a Berkley graduate of Astrophysics. Collaborator and longtime friend of the Fantastic Four, responsible for discovering the existence of wormholes being jump points to different areas of the universe. Cementing her name in history with each publication she added into the field.
Static cemented her own name in history as a superhero of unfathomable ability. She fought robots, aliens, and terrorists. She’d traveled through time to stop to restore the universe when half the population vanished with a snap.
Yeah, they couldn’t be any more different from each other.
“You know, most people when they have an early morning usually try to get as much sleep as they can the night before.” The sudden intrusion made him flinch, gaze landing on Y/n, who’d phased through the glass doors of the balcony. “Too many thoughts running through your brain.”
He relaxed, returning his attention to the city below, elbows leaned on the railing. “You could say that.”
There was a pause in the air before she spoke again. “Although I can’t relate to what you and your friends are feeling,” she approached his side carefully, “I understand this is difficult for you.”
“Which part?” He tried to joke but it came out as a weak scoff.
“All of it,” there was no need to sugarcoat the truth, the hero leaning on the railing so she was facing him. “Landing in a parallel universe. Discovering it’s filled with superpowered beings like yourselves. Trailing a madman who wants your nephew.” Another pause, her tone lowering with caution. “Me.”
Johnny lifted his head, frown deepening as their eyes locked, unsure of how to respond to her accusation. If one can really call it an accusation. Obviously he and the rest of the Fantastic Four hadn’t shied away from showing the effect Y/n had on them. They hardly took their eyes off her during the meeting. Eyes continuously flicking between the draw board, Sam, and her even when the attention wasn’t on her. Johnny even had to have things repeated because of the distraction.
“I’m not saying it to be rude,” she explained. “Or to make things difficult for you and your family. Seeing variants of people you care for is not for the faint of heart--especially when they are polar opposites. Given the information you mentioned earlier about my variant, I’m not…” she gestured to her to her attire and the WatchTower, “who I am here.”
His slow nod confirmed her statement, and she let out an exhale. “That being said, we have to work together to fight Doom--who as we’ve established, looks identical to our--,” the ‘our’ referencing the Avengers, “--late friend Tony.”
He’d forgotten about that. A pivotal detail of their situation which had most, if not all, the Avengers--new and returning--consumed with dread at the reality their enemy was a man wearing the same face as Tony Stark. Even team members who’d never met him, only known by reputation and legacy, felt unease.
And for those like Y/n, it gave a whole another meaning to the phrase, “you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a villian.” In this case, Tony died a hero, and in another world a man named Victor von Doom lived to become a villain,
“You have to…” She waved a hand, fighting to find the words, “throw away this version of me you have in your head--or-or push it to the back of your head for the time being. As harsh as it sounds,” her tone shifted with borderline remorse. “I’m not your best friend.”
Johnny’s jaw clenched, heart skipping with the wave of sadness despite the truth in her words. It was a weight on his chest, migrating down his body until it took over every inch, making his eyes well with unshed tears. So powerful it made him look away, unable to meet her gaze.
“I’d like us to become friends,” her voice turned soft, offering a gentle smile even though he refused to look at her. “We’re teammates now--with a common enemy and shared goal.” She watched him nod, silently agreeing as he swallowed the saliva that’d built in his throat. “Think we can do that?”
For a second he didn’t speak. Letting her offer linger while he focused his attention on the setting sun, painting the sky an array of orange and pink, dark blue shadowing as it enveloped the city skyline. Stars and constellations began to take shape to the naked eye, a reminder of the deep space he yearned to touch.
Blinking away the tears threatening to spill, Johnny cleared his throat with a firm nod. “Yeah,” his voice was hoarse, but genuine, offering her small yet shy smile. “We can do that.”
The woman beamed, eyes twinkling with appreciation. And the expression remained as she lifted her hand up. “Hi,” she told him gently, “I’m Y/n. You can call me Static.”
Johnny’s smile grew a tad bigger, glancing at her open palm before taking it in his own, the heat of his skin burning through her glove, but she didn’t show it. Instead she welcomed it, shaking his hand with certainty of the unknown.
Embracing the start of a long and endearing journey.
“Hi, I’m Johnny.”

Love At First Bite P.2 🦇 | Johnny Storm Imagine
Tumblr media
Marvel Masterlist | Part 1
Characters & Pairings: JQ!Johnny Storm x Dhampir!reader
Content Warnings: lots fluff, they fucking love each other man, injury, slight spoilers for FF:FS, canon divergence, suggestive content (18+ MDNI) Johnny matches her freak and loves dangerous women | female!reader (she/her) | wc: 2.k
Premise: After a mission that left him bruised and beat up, Johnny isn't sure what scares him more: The possibility of dying in battle...or facing his blood-drinking half-human partner.
-----------------------------------------
To say Johnny regretted pushing his limit was an understatement. The ache radiating all over his body was enough to prove the hero should’ve listened to his family when they advised to not catch a flying piece of debris and instead allow Sue to stop it from colliding with people on the ground.
You know, given she’s done it countless times before.
But no, Johnny wanted to do it. And boy was it a mistake because it was in fact heavier than he anticipated and the timing of his catch was off, therefore leading Johnny to collide with the ground due to the momentum of the huge falling object.
Now he’s got the bruised up back and arms to prove it. Plus, a minor concussion from whacking his head on the pavement.
Y/n was going to kill him.
Johnny felt dread consume him at the thought as he padded across the tiled floor of the level in the WatchTower, still clad in his dirty suit, reserved for the Fantastic Four following their success in defeating Dr. Doom and their decision to remain in Earth-616. After two years of none-stop action, they’d finally felt at home in their new universe and navigated their role in the team that was the Avengers.
And for Johnny, he found home in a certain ethereally stunning, occasionally terrifying, sometimes feral, and downright badass half-vampire/half-human dhampir.
Who likely was about to kick his ass for nearly getting himself killed.
Dragging his feet to the couch located in the middle of the living space, Johnny threw his body onto the surface, groaning in regret when his back met the cushion. Adjusting his neck onto the pillow, he melted into the couch and let out a sigh, allowing his eyes to flutter shut.
The quiet brought comfort, and he relished in the peace he was afforded knowing the chances of it turning opposite were high once his love found him in his current state. Putting it off wasn’t going to change anything, so Johnny might as well get it over with.
Maybe she’d cut him some slack. She’d see him in pain and withhold her scolding until he’s fully recovered.
Or--which was more likely--she’d threaten to drain him of his blood because the only way he’s leaving this world is by her hand and no one else’s.
Yeah….his bet was on that outcome.
Johnny let out another sigh, opening his arms so one fell off the side of the couch and the other was laid on the fabric. Then he adjusted his legs so they were spread a tad, enough space for someone to fit. And with his eyes still closed, Johnny took a deep breath and let out a whispered plea in the exhale, “Babe.”
A whoosh, a breeze catching his hair sending chills along his arms, and a weight pressed into his side, Y/n melted into Johnny like it was second nature. One hand cradling his jaw, the other by his neck as she used her elbow to hold herself up as she laid half on top of him, pressing her back into the couch cushions so as to not hurt him, while her legs tangled with his.
Johnny’s eyes remained closed, humming at the feeling of her cold lips meeting his cheek, trailing down until they mashed with his bruised ones. The kiss was light and soft, but within it Johnny felt the relief. The love. The devotion she had toward him. Keeping her hand on his jaw with tenderness she reserved only for him.
The kiss fueled him with warmth. Arms reaching up to wrap around her waist, keeping one pressed against her lower back while the other went to hold her shoulder blade. He returned her kiss with the same energy, matching her movements as they kept it slow. Unlike their typical fast paced, frantic make out sessions their teammates always caught them in. And when she pulled away Johnny felt himself chasing after her lips. Desiring more.
Finally his eyes peeled open, where he was met with her charcoal ones staring back at him with a mix of emotions paralleling the kiss she gave him. Although he did catch the flicker of fury when they trailed down his dirtied suit and settled on the abrasions marking his face, sending a wave of unease in his stomach.
“Don’t ever scare me like that again, Jonathan.”
Oh, he was in trouble.
“I’m sorry,” was the only response he could offer, swallowing thickly. His tone sounded absolutely pathetic as he pressed his forehead into her shoulder.
She stayed silent, and he waited anxiously until he relaxed at the touch of her mouth on his temple. “How bad does it hurt?”
“On a scale of one to ten?” he tried to joke, “A solid fucking eight.” She didn’t laugh, nor did she crack the signature smirk he was accustomed to. Her expression remained stoic as her hand went from his jaw to his side, confirming her suspicions when he winced.
“Babe, please, you--you don’t have to,” He grunted when she added pressure, realizing what she was about to do.
“Hush,” she silenced him with narrowed eyes, and the man closed his mouth, nuzzling further into the area where her shoulder met her neck, mouth pressing to the skin. He breathed in her scent as a form of comfort, where he relished in the aroma of rose and vanilla. He learned quickly that the vampires and dhampirs of Earth-616 drew their prey in by their scent. Like a moth to a flame.
She always smelled intoxicating. It drove him crazy, and right now it was all he focused on while she took his pain. Black veins formed beneath her eyes, and on the hand laid on his ribs, trailing along her arm until she stiffened and let out a grunt, causing Johnny to shudder against her.
“Y/n,” he pleaded as his hand went to clutch hers, not wanting her to hurt herself in the process of healing him--which she absolutely would do. Johnny refused it completely, even though he felt the pain slowly evaporate with each passing second. “Sweetheart, that’s enough. I promise--I feel better already. You don’t need to take it all.”
Another five seconds drew on, and finally she removed her hand. Veins disappearing.
Leaning back, Johnny’s gaze was full of appreciation, bringing their locked hands up to  press a kiss to her knuckles in thanks. “I messed up. I know, you can rip me a new one--but I do ask if you wait until the morning,” his eyes shined, peering up at her like a kicked puppy. “Please, Bats?”
He waited for her scoff, a huff of annoyance, anything to indicate she was about to explode on him for scaring her. To cuss him out for being reckless. For not listening to his family. But all he was met with was her softening gaze.
“What do you need from me?”
Finally Johnny could breathe, sighing in relief as he plopped his head back on the pillow to look up at her hovering figure. “I just need you,” he whispered, hands caressing along her limbs. Soft, light touches. “Here with me.”
Fingers brushed through his hair, Johnny’s eyes fluttering slightly, as he adored when she played with his hair. “You are filthy,” she observed, lips curling in amusement when he pouted with offense. “You need a bath.” She kissed him, careful of the bruises. “And food.” Another kiss, softer than the last. “And rest.”
He responded to each kiss, humming softly when she pulled away. “You’re not going to let me do anything until those things have been completed.”
The smirk graced her mouth, “You’re damn right.” Adjusting her body so that she was hovering over him, the dhampir gazed down at the blonde wickedly. “Back in a flash.”
A loud whoosh filled his ears once more. The air hitting his face as she dashed away at vampire speed. And seconds later, another wave bristled his hair when she returned. “I got your water running with some bath bubbles and oil. And I laid out fresh clothes for you.” Her eyes sparkle against the light. “I had already called in your favorite from Georginio’s when I heard you come in.”
“You’re the best,” Johnny beamed, heart full of love.
”And don’t you forget it.” Leaning down she stole a kiss he was more than happy to give. “But don’t think you’re off the hook just yet, Storm.”
A groan escaped him, peering up at her apologetically. Hoping the puppy dog eyes will work on her like they usually do. “Not even if I promise to never do it again?”
”Don’t push it,” she warned, albeit playfully.
“Yes, ma’am.”
Pressing her head against his shoulder, the two laid in a comfortable silence while they waited for the tub to fill. Thanks to her vampire hearing, Y/n would know when to shut it off. For now, she basked in the relief he was alive, hand trailing to his side where the brute of his injury had been.
“Any more pain?”
”No,” he shook his head. “It’s nothing to worry about—-just a little sting now. You took most of it,” he gently patted her hip, smoothing a thumb over the fabric. “Thank you.”
Her mouth met his jaw, rubbing his side. “Happy to be of assistance. Just don’t make it a habit, Johnny.”
“Or what?” he challenged, brows raising as he a cheeky grin formed. Damn well knowing he was poking the bear--or bat he should say.
She didn’t hesitate, “I’ll fucking bite you, that’s what.”
Heat soared down his spine, pooling in his stomach until it settled further down. “You say that like It’d deter me, darling.” The hand on her hip moved to where it was practically on her ass, giving a light squeeze. “Stop threatening me with a good time and just do it already.”
He was poking the bat.
Swatting his hand because there was no way in hell he was going to seduce his way out of a scolding, Y/n dashed away to turn off the water, collect the food at the door, preheat the oven so it remained warm, and set the record player in their room before returning to stand in front of the couch. Hands on her hips, “Bath’s ready, hotshot. Get up.”
Johnny whined. Like a literal toddler with his arms spread out on the couch and head practically leaning off the side. “Babe, I don’t think I can--you know, injured and all.”
“You just said the pain is gone.”
“No,” he countered with a lifted finger, “I said it’s simmered down to a sting.”
“What I’m hearing is you can get that flaming hot ass you have up and walk to the tub. You don’t need me to lift you off the couch.”
Johnny bit his lip, flicking his gaze up and down her figure. “You think my ass is flaming hot?”
Y/n shook her head, breathing through her nose. “Johnny…” The tone of her voice indicated she was losing her patience and if he didn’t stop she was going to threaten to take away one of his favorite pastimes with her.
You know, the one that involves a bed or any flat surface. Usually without clothes and can last hours thanks to their enhanced DNA giving both of them exceptional stamina.
“Okay, okay,” He lifted his back off the cushion, pulling himself upright. “I’m going.” As he passed her, he didn’t shy from leaving a slap to her ass. But before she could scold him, Johnny wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her chest to chest to give her an opened-mouth kiss on the lips.
He pulled away with a loud, dramatic smack. “I love you,” His voice seeped with affection, pressing a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth. “Thank you for everything tonight.” Feeling her melt into him, Johnny peppered more kisses along her cheek and jaw. Showcasing his love and devotion to her. “I love you,” she shared the sentiment, threading fingers through the nape of hair on the back of his neck. “I’d do it again in a heartbeat.” They stood there for a minute. Maybe two. Enough for the buzzer of the oven to beep and Johnny to groan as she dismissed him with, “Now go bathe--you stink of dirt, and you will not have me on my back for you until it’s gone.”

Earth-616 is no stranger to the multiverse. Since the defeat of Thanos in 2023, the Avengers have had their fair share of visitors from other worlds and know what to expect when they do. But when a man wearing the same face of their late comrade arrives, the Avengers are in for the shock of their lives when a group of heroes tailing the individual fall through the portal behind him. And for the flying, fire-wielding, and sometimes charming Johnny Storm, he meets his match in the form of a woman whos @averagewriter-inthedark

Love At First Bite 🦇 | Johnny Storm Imagine
Tumblr media
Marvel Masterlist | Part 2
Characters & Pairings: JQ!Johnny Storm x Dhampir!reader
Content Warnings: fluff, mentions of violence, slight spoilers for FF:FS, canon divergence, speculation for A:DD, suggestive content (18+ MDNI) | female!reader (she/her) | wc: 3.3k
Requested 📨 yes/no
Premise: Johnny Storm loves space and he loves women. Even has had a reputation of getting the hots for a silver alien heralding a space God. So it's no surprise that when a space mission goes sideways and the Fantastic Four end up in an alternate universe, that Johnny Storm finds himself wanting to get freaky with a someone who happens to be…not fully human.
note: I finally saw Fantastic Four and oh my God it was amazing! we finally got a comic accurate stellar adaptation of Marvel's first family. I think the acting was amazing (pacing was a little slow in the beginning I feel but other than that I didn't have any other criticisms) and I'm back in that marvel love I felt years ago. I have a lot of ideas for Johnny in the works, and this is just a little something I thought of when I had recently watched Blade 👀. Dhampir are the daywalkers who are half-vampire!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the nearly three decades Johnny Storm had been alive with saving his native world of Earth-828 from domestic and intergalactic threats, he thought he’d seen it all. From underground criminals, to industrial accidents, to sexy silver aliens heralding a planet consuming God.
What else could the universe offer?
Apparently so much more.
Following a space mission gone awry, the Fantastic Four ended up stranded on what would be known to them as Earth-616. Earth…but not their Earth. With super soldiers, mutants, Gods, and…
Vampires???
“Y/n, no! Do not bite him!! He’s cool--they’re cool!!!!” Sam yelled with all his might over Johnny’s screams, who was currently thrashing on the floor to throw off a woman straddling his waist after she side tackled him like some damn college linebacker. He didn’t even have time to react, one moment he’s standing beside his sister and the next his back is meeting the hard ground. A gust of wind has breezed toward him with barely a flicker of a human figure somewhere within and a weight is suddenly pressed against his chest.
That’s when he screamed, not just because of the sudden attack, but because the perpetrator’s eyes were glowing red. Beneath were black veins making her look monstrous.
And when he caught a look at her teeth as she hissed, Johnny felt his stomach drop at the shiny white fangs staring back at him.
He wasn’t the only one screaming, Sue was being held back by Reed bellowing, “What the hell is she doing!? Get her off my brother!!”
“Captain Wilson--,” Reed began as Ben started moving, only for Sam to step in front and hold a hand out with pleading eyes.
“Just hold on--she’s not a threat--she’s--Goddammit--BUCKY!!”
Bucky raced over, mental arm reaching out to grasp the back of her suit and--with some persistence thanks to her superhuman strength--launched her in the air to the opposite side of the room. She hit the wall hard, leaving a crack in the cement and landed on the floor, also causing an intrusion to form.
But that didn’t stop her, no. In her current state, it only pissed her off.
She scrambled up into a crawling position, knees pressed into the cracked tile with her hands in front of her, still hissing when she drew her gaze up to Sam’s, who immediately paled.
Bucky cursed, “She’s feral,” he readied himself, approaching Y/n with caution as Yelena and Walker drew their guns with their neutralizers. Meanwhile Sue, Reed, and Ben hurried to Johnny, sitting up as they assessed his injuries.
“Are you okay,” Sue cupped his face, eyes frantic and scanning his entire body. His face was flushed from screaming, throat dry and in desperate need of water. And he was extremely disoriented.
“I--I’m fine,” he wheezed, gulping saliva to ease the tightness of his throat. “What the fuck was that?” Together they glanced toward the remainder of the room's occupants, whose focus was solely on the woman kneeling. This time, they got a better look at her face. “Holy shit.”
Sam wiped his forehead, “Y/n.” He received a growl, followed by a hiss, her fangs on full display, eyes glowing red. “Calm down,” she hissed again, not happy with the command. Sam turned to Bucky, “Do y’all have blood here.”
“Blood?” Johnny gulped.
“In the fridge,” Bucky replied like it was the most normal thing in the world, meanwhile the Fantastic Four were completely dumbstruck by what they were witnessing, gazes following poor, sweet Bob as he approached the fridge to remove an actual two bags filled with blood, like one sees when they donate to the Red Cross, and cross the floor to hand to Bucky’s awaiting palm.
The soldier threw the bags in her direction, the objects sliding across the floor to be immediately snatched by her hand. Johnny’s jaw dropped, eyes bulging to the sight of her ripping the top of one open, spilling blood down her hand unleashing a smell of metallic to flood the room, and bringing the plastic to her mouth, practically biting into the material.
Everything about it was raw. Unfiltering. Animalistic.
He heard her gulps, her hums. Muttering a “woah,” at the low moan she released, the red liquid disappearing with each second.
Tossing the empty bag, she ripped into the second one. A little less frenzied, but still quite unsettling considering the entire bottom half of her face was covered in blood and it was dripping onto her hands.
“Feel better,” Bucky’s voice echoed, cutting through the silence when she finished the remainder of the blood bag, gulping with a loud sigh. The black veins vanished, her skin glowing and eyes dimming to a pitch black.
“Better,” Johnny felt a chill go up his spine when hearing her voice for the first time. The best way to describe it was raspy and hoarse. Kinda like when one first wakes up in the morning. Or has been smoking since they were ten years old.
Standing up with the help of his sister and Ben, Johnny's eyes never leave the woman, who also went to stand straight after kneeling like a wild animal for so long, the blonde noticing Yelena and Walker lower their guns and place them back in their respective holsters.
Sam released a breath of relief, “You scared us there for a moment, Bats.” He went to grab a third blood bag, just to be on the safe side. “When was the last time you fed?”
“A month ago--give or take,” She cracked her neck, accepting the bag. “Can’t really pin point exactly. When was the lunar eclipse?”
Walker looked aghast, “six months ago, Y/n.”
“Oh,” she shrugged, ignoring everyone’s horrified faces. “Guess it’s been six months then.” Sam pinched the bridge of his nose, blowing through it. This wasn’t the first time she’d gone a long time without feeding. To the point it caused her to go feral and hurt an innocent person.
“What did we talk about last time, Bats? You know you can’t wait that long--don’t roll your eyes at me,” he scowled, only to be ignored. “Why didn’t you feed before coming here if you knew you were close to being feral?”
“I thought I could make it,” was her defense. A shitty one at that, but she didn’t care. “Wasn’t until I got into the city I felt it coming on.”
“Where’s Marc?” Bucky asked, crossing his arms over his chest while she carefully bit into the plastic this time instead of ripping it open.
She took a slow drink before responding, “On some expedition--he’s been bitching about Dracula owing him money so I assume he’s gone to find the bastard.”
Johnny and Ben shared a look, “Oh my God, Dracula is real,” they said at the same time.
“And Blade?” Sam inquired, brow raising when her lips curled in a bloody smirk, one that took him time to get used to after witnessing her in this state once they started working together.
“Hunting.”
Again, Johnny gulped. He didn’t know who Blade was or what he did, but judging by Sam and Bucky’s reaction, the name Blade itself, plus Y/n’s maniacal giggle…it was enough to not ask questions.
“I was with him when you called,” She explained, licking her lips and catching a drip that was cascading down her chin with her finger and brought it to her mouth. Johnny swallowed, the heat he already bore 24/7 getting warmer, and he nearly cursed himself for thinking how hot the action was. Especially since everyone else appeared unfazed.
“He sent me to help. Although…” she trailed off, scanning the area to see a few unfamiliar faces spread through her allies. “I’m not sure how I feel about the new company.” That caused Johnny to frown, offended since he was the one attacked without warning when he did absolutely nothing.
“Hey now,” Sam scolded, hands on his hips like a disappointed father. “We need all the hands we can get. And my I remind you, you attacked Johnny the second you walked in--in fact you owe him an apology before we even do anything else.”
For the first time since Bucky ripped her off him, Johnny and Y/n’s gaze connected, bringing him to a still. He didn’t know whether to be terrified of the actual living vampire before him, or be aroused. To be honest the blonde felt both. Combined with a multitude of other emotions he’d unpack later.
But her black eyes staring into his blue ones. Blood covering her mouth, chin, and hands while she drank from a blood bag clearly taken from a hospital or donation bank, white fangs on clear display. Yeah….he was hypnotized.
“Sorry, doll,” she smiled wickedly, not shying away from giving his body a full up and down look that caused his cheeks to turn pink. “Didn’t mean to scare you like that. You just happened to be the closest.”
“Y/n,” Bucky warned, but not really doing anything to stop her.
“S’okay,” Johnny waved a hand, still flushed and recovering, yet somehow managing to flirt above all else, “I’m used to hot ladies throwing themselves on me. No harm done.”
“Here we go,” Ben mumbled from the side, Reed and Sue sharing a sigh.
“Oh, I can imagine,” Y/n smirked, and Johnny swore he saw his future flash before him. One involving the sexy vampire and they lived in a Victorian castle with pet bats, and he got her all the blood bags her (dead?) heart desired.
“I’m so sorry to interrupt," Reed interjected, motioning to the woman while she finished up her bag and discarded all of them, now drained completely, into the trashcan. You--you’re--you are a vampire? Yes? Um,” He struggled to find the words without possibly offending her and grasping the idea vampires were fucking real. “You tried to bite our Johnny, you--you--.”
“What my husband means to say,” Sue voiced, coming down from the shock, “is we are confused by what just happened and greatly appreciate it if someone explained.”
“My apologies,” Y/n grabbed a towel from the bar, running it under warm water and began to wipe her face. “To keep it simple and sweet, I’m a dhampir.”
“A what?” Johnny said before he could stop himself, the term unfamiliar. He, like everyone else, assumed she was a vampire.
Was she not?
Come to think of it, it was daylight. The sun was exposed. Surely she’d be burning to death if she stepped outside. Or even stood against the window.
“I’m half-vampire,” the last trace of blood left her chin, though her fangs were covered when she flashed a grin. “A daywalker you could say. Since I’m half-human, the sun doesn’t hurt me.”
“So vampires are real,” Reed said, tone in awe and concern.
“Sure are,” Y/n started to wash her hands, the water turning red as it hit the bottom of the sink. “And one banged my mother to create me. Giving me all the strengths,” she paused, glancing up to connect her eyes with Johnny’s and sending a chill down his spine when she added, “and none of their weaknesses.”
Oh he was in trouble.
Later that night after the introductions, forming a semi-plan, and Sam giving a hundred apologies to the Fantastic Four for Y/n’s behavior, they finally were dismissed to their rooms in the WatchTower. Ben, however, pulled Johnny aside before he could enter his room, glancing around to see if anyone followed them.
“Bro, what?” The groan he let out was full of exhaustion, Johnny wanting nothing more than to tuck himself into bed after the day he’d had.”
“I know what you’re thinking about and I’m telling you right now, don’t.”
“You don’t know what I’m thinking about,” he frowned, crossing his arms over his chest and not meeting Ben’s eyes. Which ultimately gave him away.
“Kid--.”
“I’m not a kid anymore--!”
“She, quite literally if I may remind you, tried to bite you. While in a feral state because she had gone months without drinking blood,” he tried to reason. Doing his best to get it into Johnny’s head that maybe pursuing the sexy vampire he obviously had the hots for was not a good idea. “Johnny, she was going to drink your blood.”
Johnny thought for a moment, as though he was considering the advice. Sighing he dropped his hands to his side, “You know, when I get hungry I sometimes get a little feral too.” Ben couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“She’s dangerous--.”
“I love dangerous women.”
“And if she bites you?”
“It’d be an honor.”
The man was going to have an aneurysm. “You know sometimes I think that cosmic storm destroyed your brain cells with how insane you can be.”
That had Johnny grinning, arms going out with a dramatic flair, “I call it an appreciation for the beauty the universe has to offer.” Dropping his hands back down, Johnny’s eyes filled with mischief. “Are you sure you’re warning me about the sexy dhampir because you’re a concerned best friend or is it because you’re envious she chose me to stick her fangs in and not you?”
Ben rolled his eyes, nudging Johnny that it caused the blonde to stumble, “Believe me, I’m not envious at all. And I highly doubt she’d be able to drink my blood all things considered,” a hand motions to his rock body.
Johnny scratched his head, “Yeah, I don’t think that’d really stop her from trying.”
Two years later
Ben entered the living room only to groan and turn on his heel when he was met with the sight of Y/n and Johnny making out on the couch. The dhampir dressed in her usual head to toe black contrasting with his white and blue suit as she laid on top of him and cupped his cheeks in her hands. Lightly moaning when he trailed his hands down her back to grip at her ass and hips.
“Why can’t you two be normal and take that to your room?”
Y/n removed her lips from Johnny, who chased her mouth and pouted when she turned her head to look at Ben. Fangs on display as she grinned. “Sorry, Ben, couldn’t wait once he walked through the door.”
“I can see that,” the man rolled his eyes, moving to the bar to pour himself a post-successful mission drink.
Johnny leaned up to kiss her jaw, nibbling the skin while squeezing her hips that were attached to his and whispered, “It’s a good thing he came in while he did. I was seconds from having us destroy this couch.”
Y/n cackled, taking her gaze off Ben to look at Johnny, “I think we’ve scared poor Ben enough with our insatiable post-mission needs, hot shot.”
“Yes you have,” The Thing agreed loudly, “Please, I’m begging, if what you’re doing is about to progress please take it to your room.”
“Don’t worry, Ben,” Y/n waved a hand before bringing it down to Johnny’s chest, inching it towards his throat with a wicked expression. “I’m hungry for something else right now.” Small black veins forming beneath her eyes. “A little more sweet if you catch my drift.”
Playing into her game, Johnny tilted his head to expose his neck, humming as she pulled down the collar of his suit, fingers brushing the revealing skin.
“For the love of God,” Ben groaned, glass clacking onto the bar as he placed it down after downing the substance in one gulp. The action caused Y/n to laugh, lowering her head into Johnny’s neck resulting in him to fake scream dramatically.
They did this all the time. The first few scaring the living shit out of everyone. What started as an inside joke when they started dating to reference the first time the two met, it became a running bit whenever they wanted to fuck around. Y/n would fake ‘biting’ Johnny’s neck, but really she layered sweet kisses onto his warm skin.
There’d been only two occasions where Y/n’s tasted Johnny’s blood. The first was when he got injured and left her covered in some of his blood. “I knew you tasted sweet, doll face,” she hummed, licking her finger while maintaining eye contact sending a thrill straight to his groin. If he wasn’t in so much pain and getting stitched up he’d throw her over his shoulder.
And the second was when she had been injured so bad to the point she needed blood to survive. She was fading away, Johnny was freaking out yelling, “What do I do?! Baby, stay with me--tell me what do you need me to do!?” and the only answer she could offer through stutters while fighting to keep her eyes open were, “Blood. I need blood.”
Johnny didn’t hesitate. He ripped back the sleeve of his forearm and practically forced it in her face. Pressing onto her mouth until she opened and drilled her fangs into the flesh. The incident left Johnny with a permanent bite mark and it took time for Y/n to forgive herself despite his reassurance that he chose to do it. That he saved her, and he’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Still, to this day whenever he wore a shirt where the bite was exposed, Y/n lifted his forearm and pressed her lips to it. Kissing his skin with such tenderness it nearly made him cry each time.
After that happened Y/n didn’t ‘fake’ bite him for a while. A couple months to be exact and Johnny never brought it up for he knew she needed time.
Speaking of biting, Johnny flinched when he felt her nip at his earlobe, fangs barely pinching the cartilage but enough to cause heat to flare in his chest. A sound left him, and Ben took his cue to leave.
“I’m out of here. I’m not drunk enough to deal with you two right now. Wash that couch if you--actually just get rid of it.”
“Roger that, big guy,” Johnny saluted, tilting his head back to give Y/n more access to kiss.
When Ben disappeared, Y/n removed herself from his neck, veins gone and sitting up slightly to press her hands onto his chest. “One of these days they are gonna force us to move out.”
“Would that really be so bad?” He rubbed her hips with his thumbs.
“No, but as much as the idea of us having our own space to do what we please…,” her finger traced the 4 of his suit, “I’d miss these clowns we call our family too much. And I’d miss these little moments we do to get under their skin.”
Johnny’s smile was bright, arms moving to hold her waist, “Did you ever think this would be your life?”
“Not really,” she mused, hand trailing up to cheek to caress, “I always thought I’d be alone in some sense. Blade and Marc may have been the closest thing I had to family after my father abandoned me, but usually they went off on their own.” Her face softened, staring at Johnny like he was the sun. “It wasn’t until I met you that I believed I could have everything I wished for as a little girl.”
Johnny turned his head, pressing his lips to her fingers, kissing each one with devotion. Once all were claimed, he kissed her palm and returned his gaze to connect their eyes, lips curling in his signature charming smirk. “I was just too irresistible huh? Couldn’t resist a taste.”
Her laugh filled him with the feeling one has when they see a rainbow in the sky. Hypnotized.
Y/n leaned down to kiss his plush lips, feeling his chest rumble when he erupted with his own laughter at her reply.
“It was love at first bite.”
What are your opinions on reading x reader fics while in a relationship? I'm asking several x reader writers, and you definitely don't have to answer if it's something you don't want to discuss
Honestly I can’t really relate to this cause I’ve been chronically single since 2017 💀 but hypothetically speaking, if I was in a relationship I don’t think it would change my perception of reading and writing fictional character x reader works, because at the end of the day it’s fiction that people use as an escape that they enjoy, and it should not be a problem to enjoy consuming fanfic about a character one likes. Not to mention, I’ve seen several writers on this platform say that a lot of the romantic scenes/dialogue was inspired by their partners and I find that adorable. Life imitates art, and I for sure would be the type to write scenes of draw inspiration from my real life partner.
Marvel Masterlist | This can be read as a follow up to 'Shooting the Moon' 🩶
Characters & Pairings: JosephQuinn!JohnnyStorm x Norse!Goddess Reader
Content Warnings: fluff, light angst (Johnny needs a hug and kiss on the forehead), references to Norse mythology and Marvel's Norse lore, canon divergence, speculation for FF:FS & A:DD. | female!reader (she/her) | wc: 1.7k
Requested 📨 yes/no
Premise: While cuddling in bed after a long day of training, Johnny asks his Goddess about her home, and all its golden glory.
Note: I haven't seen Fantastic Four First Steps yet so this is all my imagination!! I probs won't get to see it till next week cause I'm going to a convention this weekend and I WILL be off my phone to prevent myself from getting spoilers. but do expect A LOT of Johnny content because he is one of my first superhero loves, i love writing for him, and i love JQ as him (Chris Evans I love you too baby don't worry you're the blueprint_
---------------------
“Can you tell me about Asgard?”
The hand tracing down the length of his forearm paused, her head tilting to press her chin against his shoulder while his own hand stilled against her back, Johnny quickly adding, “You don’t have to say anything if you’re not ready. I’m sorry--.”
“No, you have nothing to apologize for,” she murmured softly, resuming her movements as a small smile coated her lips. “What would you like to know?”
Johnny felt he could get lost in the gold irises of her eyes, the ones Thor explained were a gift from the Gods following Heimdall’s death, as she was his protégé. “Anything. Everything.”
Her chuckle was light, barely echoing against the walls of his bedroom and turning into a sigh when his fingers brushed up to the skin of her neck. “Asgard was… beautiful.” There was longing in her voice, a sense of sorrow seeping through as the memories surfaced. “Magical. The place people here write fantasy novels about. It was,” she paused again, pressing her cheek into his chest, “ Home.”
A wave of sadness filled Johnny, his one hand moving to cradle her by her waist while the hand on her neck trailed down to the middle of her shoulder blades. Nuzzling his nose into her hair, he was met with the calming smell of eucalyptus and lavender with traces of wood. It didn’t matter how many times she bathed or doused in midgardian scents, the Goddess always smelled like she spent hours in the forest. If Johnny closed his eyes, he could imagine trees in place of walls. Grass instead of the memory foam mattress they laid on. And her beloved animals instead of the buzzing sounds of the streets below.
“Picture all the gold on Earth in one place,” she spoke, maneuvering herself so that they were level with each other, head laid on the pillow beside his, “And imagine it in the form of a castle. That’s where my family resided.”
“All the gold on Earth?” he repeated in awe, adjusting to lay on his side facing her, tucking an arm under the pillow while the other loosely went to her waist.
“All the gold on Earth,” she giggled with a wink. His brows furrowed, followed by a soft pout on his lips. “What’s that look for?”
“I’m just imagining all that gold. I’ve never seen so much in one place--unless you count the museum exhibit we went to last weekend.” His eyes widened, realizing something she said, “wait, you lived in a castle made of gold?”
The Goddess chuckled, tapping his nose in the process. “I did. My family lived there for many many years.” Millenium really. But he didn’t need to know that. Johnny already teased the fact the Goddess was technically 800 years old, considering Asgardians aged slower than Midgardians and viewed as immortal--though there were still things that could kill them.
Thor was pushing 1,600 years and Loki, at the time of his untimely death, was close to 1,100. Then, of course, their father lived to 5,000. Physically, she looked his age. A young adult in their 20s, while Thor physically appeared a man in his 40s.
But she lived many lives over the course of her extended life.
The youngest child of Odin and Frigga, Y/n’s birth was a surprise to the royal family, but celebrated nonetheless. She’d be born during the coldest winter night at midnight which also happened to be the winter solstice on Midgard.
The shortest day, the longest night. Echoes of the wolves howling in the distance mixed with her first cries, and Odin named her the Goddess of Winter, the Hunt, and made her protector of animals.
“What was your favorite part of the castle?” He inched closer, falling deeper into the melting gold of her eyes. He wondered if they were the same shade of gold as her home.
“Oh,” she hummed, pinching her brows in thought, “I don’t know. There were many places I loved--my bedroom, the gardens, the balcony overlooking the city where I could see the Bifrost and its rainbow bridge.”
“That’s where Heimdall guarded, right?”
“Yes,” she smiled, pleased he remembered. “Then there were my beloved mountains--though they were not part of the castle. I had to travel a few miles to get to them,” she corrects, chuckling softly. “I cannot tell you how many times my parents and brothers feared I’d been kidnapped, but really I’d lost track of time skiing down the slopes.”
“You said Asgard didn’t really have seasons,” Johnny commented, smiling at the image of her decked out in her hunting gear and skis, trailed by the wolf companions while the eagles she adored soared above. “Bet that was nice not having to worry about the snow melting.”
“Oh it was marvelous . Not having to wait months on end for the winter, because half of Asgard remained that cold while the other half stayed in a scorching heat.” A pause occurred, before she added, “I spent hours in the library. Reading texts from all over the Nine Realms, but also it is where Loki taught me magic.”
Johnny lingered on every word, committing each detail to memory. It was rare Y/n spoke of Loki, her brother. Who, like Heimdall, died at the hands of Thanos not long after they escaped Sakarr and the destruction of Asgard. Y/n barely survived the ordeal, her last image being her brothers before Heimdall sent her and Banner to Midgard.
His final action before Thanos drove a sword through his heart.
Johnny removed his hand from her waist in favor of taking her own. Interlacing their fingers. “Can you tell me about him?” His face softened, as did his voice. “Loki.” A flicker of sorrow flashed over her, but the Goddess quickly recovered, but not before the blonde leaned over to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. Both in apology and to encourage her if she felt ready.
“You know how Reed likes to complain about all the headaches you give him?”
“Yes…?” He pouted, confused by the statement when her lips curled up.
“That is likely how my parents felt towards Loki. He always knew how to drive them up a wall.” A chuckle escaped her, adjusting her position slightly. “He was the God of Mischief after all. Always causing trouble. Always finding a way out of things. Using his magic to terrorize us.” She pursed her lips together, biting back a smile, “One time he shapeshifted into a snake to prank Thor.”
“Noooo.”
“Oh Thor felt so betrayed!” Johnny beamed at the genuine laugh she released, laughing with her. “The man adores snakes and of course he suspected nothing when he found one in the gardens.”
“What happened?” Johnny wondered, leaning closer, their noses nearly touched.
Y/n let out another laugh, “Loki transformed back, scared the living daylights out of Thor,” she paused, unsure whether or not to say the rest but ultimately mumbled with a cheeky smile, “and stabbed him.”
His gasp echoed, eyes bulging from his head, “ Stabbed him!” He stared at her in disbelief while she simply laughed at his state of shock. “Why would he do that?!” All he received was a shrug.
“Who knows? To this day I don’t know what possessed him.” She shrugged again. “Luckily it was a small butter knife and really only left a scratch. There was this one time we went hunting for my name day and Thor decided to lay out in the grass covered in bushes to take a nap, and well…” she bit her bottom lip, “I thought his boot covered foot sticking out was a rabbit from the distance.”
Johnny’s reaction was aghast, “you shot an arrow through your brother’s foot?”
“It was an accident!” she defended, heat rising in her face while avoiding his eyes. “Serves him right for sleeping on my name day hunt.”
Johnny squeezed his eyes shut with a groan, muffling it into the pillow as though he couldn’t believe his ears. “You Asgardians have different meanings when it comes to roughhousing your siblings.” He yelped when a smack landed on his ass, snapping his head up to look at her scandalized. “How dare--.”
“Careful, young Storm,” she warned with mischief. “You’re speaking to a God.” She inched forward, breath kissing his skin. “One you happen to love .”
He sighed, plopping his head down with a lovesick expression, “Yeah you got me there.” Warmth fluttered his heart of fire when she laughed, leaning down to kiss his temple.
How did he, Johnny Storm, the once most eligible bachelor in America with ladies and gents lining up to get his attention, secure a love so pure with a Goddess? The type authors wrote fairytales about. The type one yearns for all their life.
He saw it in his sister and Reed. He saw it in the way Pepper Potts and Thor mourned Tony Stark and Jane Foster. He felt it in the way Y/n spoke about her parents, detailing the thousands of years they spent together.
Now he got to experience it. And damn did it feel good.
“Your turn.”
His brows raised, “My turn?” The question was followed by a nod, the Goddess moving to get comfortable once more.
“Tell me about your world.” This time it was Johnny’s turn to freeze, unsure how to approach the subject as talking about his home world was still a sore subject. Sensing this, Y/n nosed his cheek, kissing it, “Not ready, my darling?”
“I’m sorry,” his murmur was quiet, like a child after being scolded for doing something wrong. But Johnny had nothing to be sorry about, and Y/n made sure to let him know.
“Hush,” a finger caressed his cheekbone, and Johnny realized his eyes were tearing up as he got pulled into the final images of his home before destruction occurred. “How about I show you something instead?”
“What?” he finally finds his voice.
“You know how I said my brother taught me magic?” He nods against the pillow, blue eyes glossy and full of wonder. “Well, one of his favorite things to teach me were illusions. Illusions so accurate, you think they are real.” A warm palm cups his cheek, moving up to rest her forefingers against his temple. “Would you like to see Agard?”
He nearly gasped, “You can do that.” Suddenly her eyes seemed brighter. Glowing. “Show me Asgard?”
“Oh darling,” her smile shined, as did her golden eyes. “I can take you to Asgard.”
Premise: Johnny Storm, the once most eligible bachelor in America, meets and finds love with a woman whose name and reputation is rooted in myth and legend. Literally. Who would've thought a city boy would find his heart stolen by a Goddess with a bow and arrow.
note: this can be read as a reader insert where you envision yourself as the MCU version of Skadi, Goddess of the Winter and the adoptive/biological sister of Thor & Loki. No physical descriptions are mentioned. I've had this idea for two months and I've finally gotten around to writing--we are less than two weeks away from Fantastic Four!! also I'm still working on my AO3 Johnny Storm story so that will be getting updates soon!
-------------------------------------------
“Nock.” Johnny removed the arrow from the quiver made of complete cypress wood, placing it the designated spot on the bow. Also made of cypress. “Draw.” He reels his arm back, fingers on the bow string where they barely brush the feathered end of the arrow nestled between them. Straightening his posture, Johnny pins his gaze on the target, setting up his aim after noting the direction of the wind by the rustling of the trees in the distance.
He waits for her final command, but is pulled out from his attention on the target when she comes to his side. Warm palm on his shoulder, the other on his back just between his shoulder blades. Sending goosebumps along his arms as he tried to control the blush on his cheeks.
“Your feet are not in the correct position,” she observes, her tone not scolding nor mocking to embarrass him. Simply to point out an error so that he may fix it.
“Oh,” Looking down he sees his feet are too close. They needed to be shoulder width apart and Johnny lowered the bow gently to correct himself. His shoulders, hips, and feet all aligned, toes slightly outward and his back straight. “Like that, right?”
“Yes,” she smiles. “Now draw again.” Johnny brings the bow up, paralleling it to the ground with his arm extending. “Relax your grip,” her hand reaches out to tap his fingers clutching the bow, smoothing the muscles until they loosen. “Good,” she saunters back a few paces, “Now when you’re ready, release the arrow and let it fly.”
The wind picks up. Leaves falling from the trees to scatter across the grass. Johnny does not move. He does not let loose the arrow. He simply waits. Waits for the right moment like she taught him.
Where his mind blanks and is given a peaceful silence. Where the wind ceased as though it had breached open a clear pathway for the arrow. Where there is nothing between him and the target, except for the air.
And when the moment comes, Johnny inhales deeply, pins his eyes on the target exactly where he wants it, and sends the arrow flying.
The events following the failure of the Fantastic Four from stopping their world from being consumed by Galactus haunted Johnny. There hadn’t been a moment of peace since. They were still reeling with the grief of defeat when their lives took another 180 by suddenly being pulled into another universe. How it happened, it was unclear. Just that their Marvel-1 entered the atmosphere of another Earth. Vastly different from their home one with its own set of superpowered heroes and villains.
Magic. Sorcery. Vibranium. Mutants. Super Soldiers. Gods. Actual Gods from mythology. It was difficult to wrap his mind around it all. Even with the dozens of people around him falling under those categories, Johnny was still in disbelief.
The chatter of conversation mufflered around Johnny as he stood with his arms crossed beside his sister while most of the room's attention was on Sam Wilson and Thor, the literal God of Thunder from Norse Mythology, went back and forth about what to do.
“I do not understand the hesitation--we have dealt with far worse,” Thor ranted, slightly waving Stormbreaker to emphasize his point. Eager to go after Doom as it had been a long time since the mighty God had seen battle.
“In case you forgot we are dealing with a multiversal madman, Thor.”
“Ah but together we are stronger than him, Sam, Son of Will.” Johnny was so tired and slumped he couldn’t even bring himself to laugh at Sam’s baffled reaction. He closed his eyes to pinch the bridge of his nose, willing himself not to cry as another wave of grief hit him. Thinking about the millions of people he failed to save.
All those lives just gone. In the blink of an eye.
Swallowing thickly to contain the lump in the back of his throat he’d wait to release until alone, Johnny turned his head to the right and stared at the tiled floor. He wasn’t sure how much time had passed, attention drawn to a bug crawling when a shadow entered vision, causing his brows to furrow as the shadow had an odd shape to it.
Not a human shadow. No. As it came closer, Johnny realized he was staring at antlers.
‘What the hell?’ Gaze drifting upward, Johnny’s eyes widened as they connected with deep ones of a white-tailed deer. Larger than the average. Standing at least five feet tall, light brown fur with a white spot on its chest. Staring at him with curiosity, as though it was trying to decipher who Johnny was.
But the most striking detail of all? Its antlers were coated in gold.
“Uhhh…guys?” He raised his voice among the loud chatter happening around him. Sending them into silence as they turned for an explanation, only to match his expression once they followed his gaze.
For a moment they all stood in shock, until it was interrupted by Thor’s rambunctious laugh. Loud and full of glee, making the newcomers confused by the joy he displayed. “Dear sister!!” Johnny swore he saw the animal roll their eyes at the ‘dear’ but also portrayed amusement. Thor moved forward, hands raised in a welcoming gesture. “What an honor it is to have you in our presence once again.”
“About time we got some more power,” Bucky muses, relief in his voice while sending a small salute to the deer. From beside him Yelena does a silent cheer, nudging Bob with a grin as he looks on with amazement. Next to Sam, Joaquin mutters under his breath, “Holy shit.”
Shuri beams, clapping with excitement. “You have no idea how happy we are to see you, Y/n.”
A flash of recognition hits Johnny upon hearing the name, but he is unable to fully recall the meaning behind it. A name likely brought up when the Four first arrived and teamed up with the Avengers where they were discussing recruiting former colleagues to their mission.
And the fact they were addressing this deer by the name….
“Well don’t just stand there, sister!” Thor exclaimed with a wave of a hand. “Come, we must introduce you to our friends.”
The deer blinks slowly, drawing its head down in a firm nod before moving towards the door off to the side. They all watch closely; Thor with excitement as he places Stormbreaker down. And when the deer disappears from their sight, it’s only seconds later that a woman emerges from the doorway.
Johnny’s jaw drops.
A woman, Y/n, stands in place of the deer, dressed in the finest armor he’d ever seen. Asgardian armor. Consisting of brown, white, and gold plates and detailing, with a hunting bow strapped to her back, hunting knives holstered to her waist, and a stunning headpiece in the shape of an eagle head with its wings spread out. Her shoulder pads resembled antlers, the top dipped in gold.
Everything about her screamed power. A warrior. Destined for greatness and not one to surrender when things go awry.
Carrying herself as though she were a God.
Johnny felt himself straighten, unable to take his eyes off the ethereal being before him. Although he flinched when Thor’s boisterous laugh roared in his ears, the God rushed past the Fantastic Four with open arms, ignoring the playful vexed look Y/n shot at him when he gathered her up in an embrace. Lifting her off the ground to dramatically spin them in a circle.
Thor continues to laugh. The most joyful he’s been since they first landed in the predicament they were in. And Johnny observes the same happy expressions on several members of the team such as Rhodey, Banner, Bucky, Shuri, and Sam. All moving to gather around the two and give their own welcomes to the woman.
Johnny was about to ask the million dollar question his fellow family members were all thinking, when Thor’s proud voice boomed against the walls. “The Goddess of Wild Hunt returns!!”
That made the air catch in his throat, eyes bulging as the words processed. And when he peered at his family, they too froze in shock.
“You’re….” Johnny breathed in awe with his sparkling blue eyes and mouth agape. Matching the expression of his fellow Fantastic Four family as they stared at the woman removing herself from Thor’s embrace.
See, the myths and legends of their world were no different from those of Earth-616. Except that is what they were. Myths and legends. Stories of Gods passed down from ancient literature and taught in school for generations upon generations. Zeus and the Olympians, their Roman equivalent. Ancient Egypt and, of course, Thor and his fellow Norse deities.
The Fantastic Four never got far in their careers of being the protectors of their Earth to discover if the Gods of legends resided in the galaxies across space. Unlike here, where the Gods literally live on Earth.
The Four were already in disbelief of being in the presence of Thor. And they heard stories of his brother Loki, the God of Mischief, who was responsible for a New York invasion over a decade prior.
Now here was their sister. The Goddess of the Wild Hunt.
“Y/n,” her voice was as powerful as her stance, gazing at Johnny with a look that brought heat to his cheeks. Though he was confused by the name. The Goddess of the Hunt he was familiar with from his lessons on Norse mythology went by a different name.
“Oh, don’t be humble now,” Thor scoffed with a playful nudge before gesturing a hand out despite her protests, the Goddess moving to hug Shuri and Bucky. “May I present to you my sister, Skađi, daughter of the All-Father Odin and the All-Mother Frigga. Princess of Asgard. Protector of animals. Keeper of the Wrath, and the Goddess of the Wild Hunt and Winter.”
While those who had never met the Goddess before stared in awe, she clicked her teeth with a roll of the eyes toward her brother, “So much for being subtle.”
Thor claps a hand on her shoulder blade with a chuckle, “That trait unfortunately lacks among us, sister.” All things considered, they were Gods after all.
Royal Gods, nonetheless.
“Oh believe me, Thor,” she hums while sending a knowing look, implying she understood. “I know.” Then before he could attempt to say anything else, she returned her attention to the group of people who she was unfamiliar with. “I prefer if you’d all refer to me as Y/n. It’s been a long time since I went by my Asgardian name,” She ignored the frown plastered on her brother. Even though she’d literally been going by the Midgardian name for years. “I don’t remember the last time I introduced myself as Skadi--surely not on any of my recent travels--so let’s keep it that way.”
“Speaking of travels,” Thor’s tone resorts to one of a scolding brother--a complete 180 from the happy go lucky he just displayed. Pivoting to face Y/n with his hands on his hips. “Where have you been? Val said you’d be returning to New Asgard in the winter.” He narrows his eyes, “that was four years ago.”
Y/n sighs, waving her hand as though to brush off the Gods' concern. “I got caught up.”
“Caught up?”
“Yes, Thor, caught up,” she strolls up to the couch not too far from the Fantastic Four and plops herself down as though she owns it. The trail of her white cape brushing against the tile floor as it spills down the cushions. “You know how signals can get up in space--not to mention I was in a completely different galaxy--half the time,” from the side, Reed and Johnny share a look of wonder, the former wanting to ask which galaxy the Goddess was referring to.
“And then of course there were times I got the jump points wrong,” she trails off sheepishly, “I’d aim for one to bring me here, but I’d somehow get one that shot me to Vega or Andromeda. And instead of redirecting to the correct jump…I’d simply explored the surrounding areas of where I landed.”
“Jump points?” Johnny spoke under his breath, but was surprised to see Y/n heard him, her head turning to the group and assessing them like it was odd they didn’t know what she was talking about.
“You’re not familiar?”
Bucky stepped in then, “Y/n, these are our…new friends.” He paused to introduce each of the Four to the Goddess by name before saying, “They are not from this universe,” her face shifts to one of understanding. “Having landed in ours unexpectedly following…unfortunate circumstances. And are still learning about ours and what we have discovered that they had yet to.”
“I see,” she leans back into the couch, frowning at the visible sadness she observed from each of the four members. They were obviously trying to be discreet, but the Goddess was no stranger to pain and grief.
And the four reeked of it.
Johnny, who wore his emotion on the sleeve of his suit, relaxed when Y/n returned to the subject of jump points rather than investigating her curiosity of the Four. “Jump points are basically wormholes that spit you out at different points in the universe. We’ve mapped out most jump points, but there are still some unaccounted for--those are the ones you have to worry about. For you never know where they might take you.” Leaving them to ponder in their awe, Y/n turned back to her brother. “Anyway, I meant to return four winters ago, but I got caught up.”
The arrow met the middle of the target, leaving a *thump* as it is embedded into the material.
A bullseye.
“Well done,” Y/n applauded, beaming bright and moving to Johnny’s side, who mirrored her expression. “You’re a natural with the bow, darling.” His cheeks turned pink, gliding to the tip of his ears as he lowered the bow to his side.
“I have the best teacher.”
Her lips met the warm skin of his cheek. “Don’t let Barton hear that. He’d throw a fit.”
“Clint is talented,” he brought an arm around her waist, pulling her close so their noses were nearly touching, the cool metal of her chest plate meeting his t-shirt. “But he’s no match for the Goddess of bowhunting.”
Y/n rolled her eyes playfully, grabbing the bow from his hand and made her way toward the target, calling out, “I think you’re ready for moving targets. Next lesson, perhaps?” She heard him jog as he caught up to her.
“Exactly what moving targets do you have in mind,” he beat her to the equipment and began packing it up, removing the arrow from his bullseye with a proud smile.
She took the arrow and placed it in her own quiver attached to her back, “small animals--birds, squirrels, maybe rabbits. Then we move on to larger mammals. Catch yourself a deer for Ben--he mentioned wanting to cook venison one of these days.”
Johnny pondered over the thought, a little nervous at the idea. Archery and hunting was new for him as he never partook in the activity prior to becoming involved with Y/n. Growing up in New York City that is, it lacked the beauty of the wilderness his goddess was devoted towards.
After all, she was the Goddess of the Hunt and Winter. Associated with the mountains, animals, and bowhunting. A skilled archer, a shapeshifter. Johnny knew what he was getting into when he realized he fell in love with Y/n. And if he wanted to earn her love, and keep it, he needed to be devoted to those things as well.
Just like she devoted herself to learning the things he enjoyed in life. Music, dancing, gold hour on the beach where the sky was painted in cast colors. The warmth of the sun on a bright summer day. The waves of the ocean when at high tide.
Their love was a slow but strong progression following her return to Earth. Somewhat unexpected, given their energy was primarily spent on defeating Doom. Their interactions were scarce. Usually when assigned together on expeditions, and even then Johnny barely could speak words in her presence.
There was no denying the attraction he held for the Goddess, but there were pressing matters at stake. Not to mention his flamboyant, flirty flame dimmed after he lost his world and found himself in another.
New York was not the same New York. The Watchtower was not Baxter Building. The corner store on 51st street was not the record store Johnny frequented when he needed a new album for his collection. The sun in the sky was not the sun he saw every morning for thirty years. The moon wasn’t the same moon. Those stars were not the ones he spent countless nights admiring from the rooftop, picturing the day he’d touch them.
How could he find love in a place he felt he didn’t belong.
Little did he know, a certain Goddess knew the feeling all too well. For she, too, experienced the destruction of her home, as Ragnarök and Thanos’ resulted in what was left of her people to take root in Norway.
But although the country once worshiped her people, cementing them as legends, it would never be Asgard. It would never be home.
That was what really brought Johnny and Y/n together. Two beings from different worlds, searching for belonging and home, finding it in each other.
Since she began teaching him how to shoot, Johnny’s confidence was growing. Especially now since he hit a bullseye for the first time. Still, hunting animals made him nervous.
“You really think I’m ready?”
“I do,” she set down bow and removed the quiver before approaching Johnny with a soft smile. Her arms reached out to move around his neck and he immediately melted into her touch, hands going to her hips where they met the smooth leather of her pants. “But I want you to feel that you are ready. We can do as many target practices as you want before we move forward.”
Johnny’s bottom lip jutted out as he squinted his eyes in thought, “You won’t judge me if I say I need maybe ten…twenty bullseyes first before I feel confident to shoot a squirrel.”
Y/n chuckled, leaning to kiss his plush lips, “of course I won’t.” She kissed him again, smirking when she pulled away. “Although I cannot say the same for my brother and Ben.”
Johnny groaned, head falling onto her shoulder. “Then let’s not say anything.” Nuzzling into her neck, he kissed the area beneath her ear softly, warmth in his chest when he felt her shudder. By now the exhaustion was beginning to settle in, his eyes fluttering shut as he fought back the urge to sleep, wishing nothing more than to cuddle up in their bed. “Can we go nap now?”
The goddess laughed, mouth moving to his temple and laid a gentle kiss causing her mortal, supernova, golden-retriever partner to explode inside with love and adoration.
“Yes, min elskede, we can go nap now.”
Have you seen the gifs of Johnny hugging Sue and reed? THE WAY HE PICKS SUE UP AND SPINS HER AROUND??? He probably gives the BEST HUGS TO HIS S/O UGHHH
YES AHH HE DEFS GIVES THE BEST HUGS 😭😭😭
like imagine coming home from a long day at the office and the only thing that could make your day better is a bear hug from Johnny--who is always excited to see you and hear about your day. He can't help it--the moment you walk through the door that man is yelling, "There's my darling!!" as he runs up to you with that dazzling smile and brings you into his arms.
And if he's been on a mission or you've been away for a business trip the hugs go on for minutes on minutes--he scoops you up in those big strong arms of his and spins you around until you're in a heap of giggles yelling, "Johnny, put me down!!" but really you don't want him too--cause being held by him is just too good to let go of.
The heat from his body is like a blanket, covering you from head to toe and warming up your insides you're a blushing, gushing mess. And the way he nuzzles his face into your neck--still spinning you mind you--has you pressing kiss after kiss on his forehead.
Yeah, hugs from Johnny are the best ❤️❤️❤️❤️
