Vesemir had to raise his pups alone, yes, but at least he had Kaer Morhen built up around them, blocking the wind and the rain, keeping them mostly safe.

Guxart had no castle for his kittens but he has the caravan, and all the other cats to help wrangle the little ones.

What about Letho though? He brought up his boys without anyone else’s help and without anywhere for them to call home. It was quite literally, the three of them against the world.

All the Witcher Dads are tough but Letho is on another level.

Letho of Gulet

Chest 1: Witchers have many weapons in their arsenal: swords both silver and steel, chains, daggers, and throwing knives. Two-handed weapons are uncommon for one simple reason – weight. But for Letho of Gulet, that was never an issue. He swung a two-handed blade with the same ease and speed that others enjoy when wielding a dagger or rapier.

Chest 2: The relationship between Letho and another legendary witcher, Geralt of Rivia, was rather... Complicated. At different points in time, each of them had both saved and threatened the other's life. But how did their odd story finally end? It depends on whom you ask. Some believe that Geralt killed Letho at the ruins of Loc Muinne, while others claim that the two had agreed to part ways in peace. Alas, the truth yet remains a mystery...

Chest 3: Letho was always aware of the impression he had upon others. He never raised his voice nor made threats, for there was no need. He knew his very appearance was enough to make even the fiercest bandits shake in their boots. Letho also knew that he appeared to others as a dull-witted thug. Yet, despite possessing a superior intelligence, he made no attempt to challenge this impression. He knew people could be careless with their words if they thought they were speaking to a dumb sack of potatoes.

Scroll 1: Witcher training places great importance on endurance and agility rather than strength alone. After all, what good can a hulking mountain of muscle do against the lightning-fast strikes of a bruxa or striga... Right?

Scroll 2: Letho of Gulet was a witcher of the School of the Viper – an misleading association given his imposing stature. Though as large as a fiend and strong as a bull, his reflexes and agility rivaled those of other witchers... Making him an extremely formidable opponent.

Scroll 3: His prowess in combat would, indeed, have a major impact on the people of the Continent, for he struck down not one, but two leaders in the North... Yet, what could have led Letho from his path as a monster slayer to that of an assassin of kings?

Scroll 4: Letho was determined to reopen the fallen School of the Viper. To achieve his goal, he was prepared to enter any necessary alliance – the Empire included. Yet in the end, nothing came of his arrangement with Emhyr var Emreis, and fate showed once again that witchers should steer clear of politics...

i'll forever find it funny how Ivar Evil-Eye started the entire viper school because of the spam emails about wild hunt he's been getting directly into his frontal lobe, but never lived to see Letho, Serrit and Auckes unknowingly fulfill his desire to fight the hunt. What more, Letho does it again just few years later. You could say that for a brief moment, the viper school went full circle, mayhaps even a circle represented by a snake biting its tail...

Vipers Get Cold Easily

I know I’ve said this before but the Viper School witchers can’t regulate their own body heat as well as the others, so when it’s cold outside, it’s really really cold for them.

Now, hear me out. Letho carrying his little charges around everywhere he goes on the path and he has special extra thick blankets to roll each of them up in at night when they make camp. He probably has a special blanket himself as well, but he’s super particular about how Auckes and Serrit are tucked in at night because he doesn’t want them getting too cold.

Sometimes when they haven’t found a place to Winter and it’s snowing, he bundles his boys up in their blankets and either carries them both or straps them to his back to trudge up the path.

The constant fight against the cold was one of the many reasons he decided to deal with Nilfgaard in order to bring back the Viper School’s old Keep. He wanted to keep his snakelets safe and warm.

- Gweld sprains his ankle/breaks some foot bones on patrol, so Serrit sighs mightily and carries him. Bridal style. Of course he swoons and compliments everything from her strength to the way she killed the last monster to her ferocity (in combat AND his defense...sometimes both at once).

- Sasha carries Aiden at some point, and Aiden just *heart eyes* at him THE ENTIRE TIME. They end up cuddling the rest of the afternoon.

But yeah, Milena and Lambert would make an AMAZING Ever After AU!

A few details:

- Milena is EITHER her father's lovechild who was sponsored as a lady's maid for Marta, or the daughter of a 2nd marriage (to a much less prestigious wife), so Marta looks down on her.

- Lambert is maybe the younger brother of Prince Geralt, who is being encouraged to court Marchioness Marta de Roggeven. Geralt does NOT like Marta (he has a secret boyfriend on the side, and he's considering abdicating so he can be with Jaskier.) But Geralt and Lambert are close, so when Lambert reveals how Marta is treating the lady whom Lambert is ABSOLUTELY in love with...shit goes DOWN.

- Marika is totally innocent in the "making Milena miserable" crusade, so she gets a place in the court.

- All those things Danielle pulled in Ever After? Milena 100% does all that. When Lambert rides to Milena's rescue after her stepmom her dad sells her off to improve Marta's marriage chances and she rescues HERSELF, he basically trips over his own feet trying to kneel and propose.

- Lambert didn't CARE about Milena's lack of title at the ball, btw, he was just so stunned that, uh, she'd originally given him the wrong name and then never corrected him, that he flubbed that entire interaction. Geralt and Jaskier still smacked him upside the head and called him an idiot, but he didn't really need telling.

Have you ever seen "Ever After"? The Cinderella movie that is just BEAUTIFUL?

You know that scene where some, IDK, bandits or something surround yon Plucky Heroine and The Prince, and tell the lady "you can have anything you can carry."

("...may I have your word on that?" "On my honor as a gypsy, *ANYTHING* you can carry.")

And she carries off the prince.

(And everyone laughs and the leader goes "come back! Come back, we'll give you a horse!")

Imagine that scene, with with Milena and Lambert. (Not necessarily as a prince, but just, IDK, a Well-Known Witcher, and therefore politically valuable.) Or any young, seemingly needs-protected person with a Very Protective Witcher.

And the whole time that they're being carried off like a sack of grain, the witcher is thinking "don't pop a boner don't pop a boner this is the hottest thing I have ever SEEN but please for the love of Melitele, DO NOT POP A BONER."

Modern AU Witcher! I've had this in WIP slowly chipping away at completing this for almost a month and finally finished it!!

I was inspired by the manga 'The Way of the Househusband' and couldn't help imagining Letho as an ex-gang leader who decided to quit and become a full time single father for two boys (Auckes and Serrit) who were also ex-gang members Letho was part of. Also may or may not be a romcom with another retired gang member, Eskel >w> I continue to make Lil' Bleaters the excuse for these two to interact a;lskdjfsdf

@freckledsaint kept showing me photos of dads going fishing and so I had to draw Letho taking his boys out camping and fishing >w<;

I also saw  @justhereforeskel's post of Letho and Eskel in casual wear and fell in love! I wanted to try putting them in modern clothes too XD
