The Art of Love Chapter 1
******
Summary: You've been an art therapy teacher at an elementary school in Musutafu, Japan for the past eight years. One day, you are introduced to a new student named Eri, who comes with a lot of past trauma. While you help Eri move past her trauma through art therapy, you end up getting to know her caretaker, Shouta Aizawa, who ends up slowly opening up your heart back up after your own past trauma. Could Shouta be the person to fully open your heart back up, and possibly even fall in love?
******
Pairings: Shouta Aizawa | Eraserhead x Fem!Reader
******
Warnings: There will be fluff, there will be angst, there will be smut. Any chapters containing smut will have a NSFW disclaimer at the beginning of the chapter. And please bear with me if anything I say about art therapy is incorrect throughout the story; I promise it's only due to my own lack of knowledge on the subject. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the profession and the folks who work in it <3 Oh, and yes, before anyone asks, Kento is most certainly based on the other LOML, Kento Nanami from JJK. I have no shame.
******
(Concise) Definition of Art Therapy:
Art Therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.
Art Therapy, facilitated by a professional art therapist, effectively supports personal and relational treatment goals as well as community concerns. Art Therapy is used to improve cognitive and sensory-motor functions, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, reduce and resolve conflicts and distress, and advance societal and ecological change.
- The American Art Therapy Association
******
You have been an art therapy teacher for elementary-age students for the past eight years, and you loved every moment of it. You genuinely loved enriching the lives of young minds through art therapy; it was your truest passion in life. Since you were born Quirkless, you always wanted to do something good with your life since you couldn't be a pro-hero. At a young age, you learned that you loved drawing and painting, and you were very good at it.
You continued to love art as you got older, and when you graduated high school, you went to college where you got your Masters degree in Education, with your major being in Fine Arts. It took you over a year to find a job, which was a grueling time for you. Art therapy teacher gigs were pretty difficult to come by. You had to move back in with your parents, where you worked dead-end jobs just so you could begin paying your student loans back.
A little over a year later, you saw a job posting for an art therapy teacher at Musutafu Elementary School, an opportunity you jumped at. You always wanted to work with children, specifically, and thought this could be it. You went through many rounds of interviews to make sure you were the right fit, and eventually, you got the job. And that is where you have been for the past eight years.
Over the course of those eight years, you went through many changes in your life. You remained at your parents' home for about a year after you graduated so you could save money between the job at the school and your part-time job working as a server at a fine dining establishment. Eventually, you saved up enough money to put a down payment on your dream home right in Musutafu.
It was also around that time that you started dating Kento, who you eventually fell in love with. Kento was tall and was very handsome with his sandy blonde hair and warm brown eyes. Most importantly, though; he was good to you. It was quite easy to fall in love with him. After two years of dating, he got down on one knee and proposed to you, to which you happily said yes. Things were good: you had your dream job, your dream house, and your dream man. You were happy.
A month before your wedding, Kento was walking home from work when he got caught in the middle of a villain attack. He got stabbed by a villain just before the pro-heroes arrived on the scene. He was rushed to the hospital, where they did everything they could to try and save him, but sadly, he lost his life. To say you were heartbroken and devastated would be an understatement; you just lost the man you were going to spend the rest of your life with. At his funeral, you decided right then and there to close your heart off to relationships; no one would ever compare to Kento.
After taking a month-long leave of absence from both the school and the restaurant, you decided that you needed to get back to work. You still mourned for Kento, but you knew him well enough to know that he would want you to get back to work and help your students. You quit your restaurant job, and focused your entire life on teaching and helping your students, where you still remain to this day, several years later.
Today, you were getting a new student. Her file said that her name was Eri; odd, she had no last name. Her file also stated that she has been through extremely traumatic events for the majority of her life. You teared up reading her file. For a seven-year old girl's life to be nothing but traumatic was heartbreaking. You were already looking forward to being of help in the healing process of young Eri.
******
To be continued...

Omg I'm sorry I didn't know you didn't write for more than 3 characters. I'm really sorry about asking before looking at that rule :(
If you want, you can do the request I sent you but only with Adam and Rosie (y'know, the one with the hyperactive child reader who has like super speed).
Again, I'm sorry! Have a nice day/night!-šŸ„
Platonic Adam and Rosie x hyper!kid!reader
It's all fine! I was already going to only take two from the four characters you asked <\3its kind of on me for making the rules/pinned post so cluttered
That aside I hope you enjoy
Tumblr media
ADAM:
He does not do well with kids. He does not do well with hyper kids. Actually if anything he might have lute or sera keep an eye on you when he cant be bothered. I'm sure many of you may disagree or even dislike this, but Adam would probably be the type to egg a kid on when they have a really dumb idea. Or laugh when a kid falls down. I guess this dynamic is more of a babysitter/older brother and kid dynamic rather than a guardian/child one. Which is.. hm.. he would make an ipad baby/j
ROSIE:
On the flip side, rosie is actually good with kids! She makes sure you get your nutrients and your enrichment, she seems like the type to make a sensory activity for you. Will it be wholesome and not.. hell-themed? ...no... but hey the effort is still there! She does put you in time out if you're being too rowdy, though. Rosie is not afraid to discipline you or put her foot down. There will be consequences if you break the rules she has set out for you. Usually it's time out or confiscating a toy

Note
So theoretically if someone were too, I donā€™t know, go to the cafe and wish to become a cuddledrone, how would the process go exactly? Asking for. A friend. [the friend is me]
Apologies in advance bc this is going to be a long ramble
Initial contact with Miss Manager (the proxy), undergo an interview so management can get a feel for your intentions and desires. Hypnosis to get a deeper look at true desires is optional but ultimately an opt-in step.
A contract is drawn up to determine the duration of one's employment within the Cafe (reviewed and renewed annually; the majority of the contract is favored heavily towards the soon-to-be-cuddledrone's autonomy (should it want it returned).
Congratulations! You have been accepted into the Cuddledrone Cafe! Don't celebrate just yet though, as there is approximately one entire filing cabinet worth of paperwork to process. Don't worry, Miss Manager (and a small squad of maid-drones) will be there to explain every line as needed. Notable points in this mountain of forms includes purchasing and absolving any debts, granting temporary retainership for any associated property related contracts, arranging for movers to put any property into controlled storage, consent forms for present and future medical services (general healthcare, augmentation of any and many kinds), and general bureaucratic formalities towards never having to worry about anything and let Mistress take care of you
At this point some opt to directly proceed to augmentation! The process starts with a lengthy physical to find any and all issues to be addressed through surgery, medication, conditioning, or augmentations. Following that is the 'fun' part of the cuddledrone standard augmentation suite, which includes but is not limited to a neurological network node implant, top-grade cybernetic limbs, and anything else the new cuddledrone needs (or wants). Any augmentations post-'graduation' can either be kept or replaced free of charge for hardware of equivalent value.
Heavy augmentations over a relatively short period of time can be intensive, and requires rest, recovery, and acclimation to both the physical and cognitive aspects of new limbs and joining the sensory network. Freshly minted cuddledrones are expected and encouraged to take as much time as they need in the backrooms before assuming duties as a full-fledged cuddledrone. This also gives ample time to get to know the other drones, get used to the new diet (delicious and plentiful), pick up a hobby (enrichment is important!), get your brain rewired a few times, and so on.
Congratulations, you are now a proper cuddledrone! Enjoy your days caught in the bliss of a network feedback loop of tactile stimulation and drug-induced bliss!

The most helpful thing about a birthchart is knowing where you can prioritise different aspects of yourself, so here are some basics:
Aries: Where you're encouraged to seek out your own sources of energy/inspiration. Enrichment is required here. And decent nutrition/exercise.
Taurus: Where you most need to prioritise your sensory needs and be careful about what/whom you commit to.
Gemini: Where you most need personal freedom to follow your curiosities about others. This is also where good communication is most needed.
Cancer: Where you most need safety and nurturing. You might need to contemplate and unlearn any unhelpful messages you've received relating to perceived weakness/vulnerability.
Leo: Where you most need a decent activity/rest balance. The 'activity' usually revolves around being generous and compassionate towards others in some way.
Virgo: Where you most need to take an analytical, detail-oriented, and sincere approach, with self-improvement being the main goal.
Libra: Where you most to need to prioritise harmony and cooperation with others. Your approach to uncertainties here is to compare to a known value, and realise the 'big picture'.
Scorpio: Your priority here is your own wellbeing. Boundaries and connecting with your inner power (inner voice) are especially important. Trust your gut instinct here.
Sagittarius: Where you most need to explore and learn. Honest, direct strategies (with the future in mind) are important.
Capricorn: Organisation is required, especially when it comes to larger projects or demanding tasks. You need to be able to break things down so you get smaller, but more regular rewards. It's also important to take responsibility for your own needs and behaviour here.
Aquarius: This is where you most need to feel 'on top' of things. An observant, thoughtful approach is required, where progress is the main priority. Share your observations and ideas with others.
Pisces: This is where you most need to 'let go' and let the universe guide you. Pisces always wants be in a sort of 'flow state'. There isn't really any other advice (for a shorter text post anyway). It's innate.

What are you arguments on Sae being an INTJ?
HELP this feels so confrontational.
But I'm glad you asked because I was going to make a post on it anyway. The world deserves to know.
On why (I think) Sae is an INTJ
Itoshi Sae is currently typed as an ISTP on personality-database.com with 243 votes. Am I saying all those votes are wrong?
...Yes. /hj
It can be a bit tricky to decide whether Sae is a J or P type, because J types tend to be more worried about how they are perceived by others, which Sae is not concerned about. I can see why people would think he is an IXXP type because of that.
However, these are an ISTPs MBTI functions as follows: Ti, Se, Ni, Fe. Which doesn't make sense for Sae and the way he plays soccer. Why?
Here's how Rin describes Sae's playstyle:
Tumblr media
Key words being efficient, calculate and optimal.
This sounds a lot like extroverted thinking, which is a goal oriented function that values efficiency, and introverted intuition, that funnels sensory input into coming into an accurate conclusion (calculating the most optimal way to score). So, Sae's playstyle utilises Ni and Te rather than Ti and Se. Rin, who is typed as an INTJ on personality-database.com, was shown to have been emulating Sae's playstyle in the U20 match, when it's revealed that his original playstyle was more instinctual. So I don't know why people would think Sae isn't an INTJ, considering he was the original playmaker before Rin.
In fact, it would make more sense for Rin to be an ISTP rather than Sae. Auxiliary extroverted sensing can be explained to contribute to his instincts, which was better than Sae even at a younger age. Let me be clear, I do believe Rin is an INTJ, I'm just comparing the two.
Of course, one's playstyle doesn't define their MBTI type. But considering this is a soccer manga and we don't get many instances of seeing the characters not play soccer, this is what we have to work off on.
What's more, XNTJ types tend to be one-track minded due to introverted intuition (limited and deep focus, planning ahead) and extroverted thinking (goal oriented, ambition, efficiency), making them very driven to achieve a single goal. Sae has been playing soccer since he was one, and he hasn't strayed from his goal to become the best in the world, just that he switched positions.
To bring up another key difference between J and P types, J types to be more productive and focused on success/reputation, whereas P types like to do what they find fun and enriching. Compare Sae to an IXXP easier to identify like Nagi and you'll see the difference between a wholistic and individualistic ego (Isagi is onto something). Sae plays soccer to become the best midfielder in the world - wholistic ego. Nagi plays soccer because he finds it fun - individualistic ego.
I rest my case.

I have really complex feelings about the idea (often implied or tacitly agreed to be true even when it's not stated outright) that realism in sex scenes (and specifically sex scenes in fanfiction because that's what I'm thinking about) is always preferable and desirable. That it's always better to be more realistic, and any kind of unrealistic or fictionalized portrayals of sex are inferior--or in some cases, worthy of contempt and an indication of the inexperience/immaturity/poor writing skills of the author.
I have mixed feelings about it because I do think there's a place for realism. There are things that add realism to sex scenes that I really enjoy. I enjoy watching certain characters communicate their desires and negotiate activities. In some scenarios I like seeing characters employ safer sex practices like barriers. I will always enjoy when an author takes the time to figure out a form of lubrication that's appropriate and believable in the setting! I can even enjoy when a character gets up to pee after sex before returning to bed to cuddle; it's a very human touch to the scene that can itself be comforting and enjoyable to read. I like it when people who have experience with certain types of sex create helpful guides to writing those things, offering details you might not think of or know about if you haven't had that type of sex. It gives authors more to work with! It's a tool. Realism is a tool, and one that can absolutely enrich scenes and make them more interesting and fun to read.
And at the same time, something really does rub me the wrong way when I see posts that express contempt for a realism gap in fanfiction and imply that anyone writing it that way must be a) stupid, b) inexperienced (while kind of implying that writing about sex when you haven't had sex is inherently a problem, which I object to fundamentally), and c) completely unaware that what they're writing isn't realistic, which kind of points back to A. It's less on the nose than it would have been like ten years ago, when a lot more people were willing to just come right out and mock "stupid girls writing stupid fanfic" (and all the assumptions that go along with that) but still... that tone lingers. I won't even get into some of the smug posts that used to circulate about anal sex that ended up coming across as "don't you know anal sex is GROSS" in a way that was kind of lowkey homophobic, intentionally or not. Nor am I going to get into the prevalence of queer people telling other queer people they're doing queerness Wrong (in fanfiction, in original writing, in life in general).
To bring a personal angle to this, I'm a nearly-40-year-old bisexual cis woman, married and monogamous, chronically ill, and with some lifelong undefined sensory issues that I don't have any kind of diagnosis for so I'll just call them that. For me personally, due mostly to sensory issues and some physiological quirks, sex can take a lot of energy. Sometimes it's just a lot of work! That doesn't mean I don't want it or enjoy it, or that my partner is failing in some way; I have an active and fun sex life with a very thoughtful and caring partner (and I am not looking for advice on this post, so let's not get sidetracked). There's just challenges! And sometimes I wish my own body made it easier!
So sometimes, when I'm writing smut which is definitionally for fun and primarily for me and my own enjoyment, I find myself caught between: do I want to make this character's experience of sex very realistic in a way that's relatable to me? or do I just want to indulge in the fantasy of sex being easy and low-effort?
At this very moment I'm having difficulty answering that question about some things! There's pros and cons to both, and I don't think either one is wrong. Because at the end of the day, my own enjoyment is the goal of this piece of fiction. It's self-indulgence either way. No matter what I write, these pixel people I'm writing about are not real and their sex scenes are still a fantasy. It's just a question of what kind of fantasy I want to indulge in.
There was a good post I saw recently about the fact that a lot of problematic tropes are problematic not inherently but by scale--in other words, because their prevalence reinforces ideas and narratives harmful to specific groups. And I will be the first to acknowledge that even in the realm of fanfiction--a sphere with relatively low impact on the culture at large--it can be frustrating to constantly run into the same tropes that we find unrelatable or just plain unenjoyable, whether it's rigid top/bottom roles or easy vaginal orgasms. I don't want to come across as like, scolding anyone for just being annoyed, or venting about that sort of thing. It's fine. Some people's forms of self-indulgence are irritating to me, and my self-indulgence is undoubtedly annoying to someone else. I also want to reiterate that talking about what is and isn't realistic in the context of fiction is fine and good and there's absolutely a place for it, and that I enjoy a lot of elements of realism in fiction. I just also want to leave room for fiction to be fantasy. I think that's okay. And everyone's gauge for just how much realism is enjoyable is going to be different. I think that's fine too.

Archaeoacoustics: The Archaeology of Sound
Tumblr media
Archaeoacoustics, a burgeoning field within archaeology, combines the study of ancient sites and artifacts with the science of sound. By examining how sound was used and experienced in historical contexts, researchers can gain unique insights into the lives, cultures, and environments of ancient peoples. This post will delve into the principles of archaeoacoustics, its methodologies, significant findings, and the implications of these discoveries for our understanding of history.
What is Archaeoacoustics?
Archaeoacoustics is the interdisciplinary study that merges archaeology, acoustics, and sometimes anthropology, to understand the role of sound in past human activities. This field investigates how ancient peoples produced, manipulated, and perceived sound, whether in rituals, communication, or daily life. By reconstructing these soundscapes, archaeoacoustics offers a sensory dimension to historical inquiry, enriching our interpretation of archaeological sites and artifacts.
Methodologies in Archaeoacoustics
Acoustic Measurements and Simulations
One of the primary methods in archaeoacoustics involves acoustic measurements and simulations. Researchers use modern technology to analyze the acoustics of ancient structures such as theaters, temples, and caves. Tools like sound level meters, directional microphones, and computer simulations help in understanding how sound behaves in these environments. By measuring reverberation times, frequency responses, and sound distribution, archaeologists can infer the acoustic properties and possible uses of these spaces.
Sound Mapping
Sound mapping is another critical technique, where the distribution of sound within a particular area is documented. This involves creating detailed maps that illustrate how sound travels and is experienced at different locations within a site. These maps can reveal areas of optimal acoustics that may have been used for specific activities, such as speech, music, or ritual practices.
Experimental Archaeology
Experimental archaeology also plays a role in archaeoacoustics. By recreating ancient instruments or sound-producing devices, researchers can explore how these tools might have been used and what kind of sounds they produced. This hands-on approach provides tangible insights into the auditory experiences of ancient peoples.
Significant Discoveries in Archaeoacoustics
The Acoustics of Stonehenge
One of the most fascinating studies in archaeoacoustics involves Stonehenge, the prehistoric monument in England. Researchers have used acoustic modeling to understand how sound would have behaved within this stone circle. Findings suggest that the stones could have amplified speech and musical sounds, creating an immersive auditory experience. This has led to speculation that Stonehenge may have been used for rituals or gatherings where sound played a crucial role.
The Hypogeum of Hal-Saflieni
The Hypogeum of Hal-Saflieni in Malta, an underground temple complex, is another site of interest. Acoustic studies have shown that certain chambers within the Hypogeum have unique resonance frequencies that enhance the human voice. This has led researchers to believe that the temple may have been designed with acoustic properties in mind, possibly for chanting or other vocal rituals.
Chavin de Huantar
At the ancient site of Chavin de Huantar in Peru, archaeoacoustics has revealed that the temple complex was built with sophisticated sound manipulation in mind. Researchers discovered that the architecture of the site, including its network of tunnels and chambers, could have been used to create disorienting and awe-inspiring auditory effects during religious ceremonies. The use of conch shell trumpets and other sound devices would have added to these effects, enhancing the spiritual and psychological impact on participants.
The Maya Pyramid of Kukulkan
At the Maya ceremonial center of Chichen Itza in Mexico, an incredible acoustic phenomenon can be heard at the Pyramid of Kukulkan. If you clap your hands directly in front of the pyramid's main staircase, it echoes back an almost mechanical bird-like chirping sound. Handclaps from different positions along the base of the staircase likewise trigger the echo, but with different musical tones spanning half an octave. Recordings of the hand-clap echoes match the chirp of the nearly extinct Quetzal, the sacred bird associated with both the name of the pyramid and its plumed serpent deity Kukulkan.
The Maya Ruins of Palenque
Archaeologists discovered that the temples and public squares in Palenque, Mexico could clearly project the sounds of a human speaker and musical instruments of the time across at least a hundred meters, or about the length of a football field. The investigation identified rooms that could have been used by musicians, speakers or priests to amplify the frequency, quality and volume of sound, allowing the music or the message to travel further and reach more people. The findings strongly suggest the design and structures at Palenque involved a great deal of knowledge about acoustics and the behavior of sound.
Implications and Insights
Understanding Rituals and Ceremonies
Archaeoacoustics provides valuable insights into the rituals and ceremonies of ancient cultures. By reconstructing the soundscapes of these events, researchers can better understand the sensory experiences of participants and the role of sound in these practices. This can shed light on the spiritual and cultural significance of sound in ancient societies.
Reinterpreting Archaeological Sites
The study of sound can lead to new interpretations of archaeological sites. Structures that were previously thought to serve purely functional purposes may be re-evaluated in light of their acoustic properties. For example, a room that was assumed to be a storage area might be reconsidered as a space for ritual chanting if it has unique acoustic characteristics.
Enhancing Public Engagement
Archaeoacoustics also has the potential to enhance public engagement with archaeology. By recreating the sounds of the past, museums and heritage sites can offer immersive experiences that bring history to life. This sensory approach can make historical sites more accessible and engaging for visitors, fostering a deeper connection with the past.
Conclusion
Archaeoacoustics offers a fascinating and innovative approach to the study of ancient cultures. By exploring the acoustic properties of archaeological sites and artifacts, researchers can uncover new dimensions of historical experience and gain deeper insights into the lives of ancient peoples. Despite its challenges, the field holds great promise for enhancing our understanding of the past and engaging the public with history in new and exciting ways. As technology advances and interdisciplinary collaboration continues, the future of archaeoacoustics looks both promising and intriguing, inviting us to listen to the echoes of history in ever more profound ways.

Dopamine-friendly/sensory stimulating version of this post for my fellow neurodivergent peers who might need it šŸ’– (pink sparkle heart emoji)
May Your Hands Always Be Loud
I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 5 years oldā€” subsequently I was forced to take various high levels of stimulants, be in special ed classes, taught to have ā€œquiet handsā€, bullied for being weird, and over and over was still unable to keep up with neurotypical peers. It was suffocating.
I remember my senior year of high school, I was in alternative education. It was the one and only year I got honors, didnā€™t fail any classes, and it was the only year I got the accommodations I needed: being able to stim freely in class, listen to music whenever I needed to, arrive late/leave early, able to do homework in class, and whenever I struggled, my teachers checked on me.
Such simple accommodations changed my life. And it wasnā€™t until after 12 years of continuously failing classes, punished for being the way I am, years lost to being grounded for never being able to have good grades, so much more. I internalized that I was the problem. But I never was. It was the inaccessible world around me.
Let neurodivergent people, children especially, exist as they are. They are beautiful just as they are. May your hands always be loud.

Littles with Disabilities in kink Spaces
Another post inspired by my boy @squirtdaboi.
So today he did an amazingly brave thing and went to London, by himself for the first time, to a puppy event to meet up with friends.
Something to know about this amazing boy is he's partially sighted and has sensory issues, so this was a huge thing for him. So freaking proud of him!
We worked through lots of anxiety, and his so called friends kept changing plans which really doesn't work well for him- I have to reassure him when he comes to visit exactly what's going to happen - and I have zero issue doing as many times as he needs.
My boy went through a lot during the day, most disappointing was that friends abandoned him, luckily some really decent pups looked after him towards the end. Even making sure he got to his train. So thank you to our little heroes today!
Now here's the thing that angers me the most, as a Daddy who has 2 kiddos with Special needs, how the community treats those with different needs often leaves me utterly livid!
Worse is that most events are catered to the able bodied, often being in places where the disabled facilities are in the lady's toilets? If there is even that! In this day how is that even considered acceptable!?
Yes he's little, but he has some continence issues, so should he or others be discriminated against? Or find themselves in spaces that are really non inclusive?
Now I have to add that I spent 20 years working in adult and children support and enabling services, I'm a qualified Therapist, and have spent over 2 decades as an activist for the human rights and inclusion of those with different needs.
So I fully understand that most people aren't going to have the level of understanding and competency in these matters; but compassion doesn't require training, it requires genuine empathy!
As a community we have to start doing better at inclusion and creating safe spaces for those with disabilities, especially at events! A little bit of awareness goes along way!
No one is expecting you to be a carer, but if you are going to invite those with additional needs to events or play dates, have a basic understanding of their needs, ask what you can do to help and is there anything you need to be aware of!
And when playing with others this should just be basic etiquette and Safe play behaviour!
To event organisers, find out how you can make your event's inclusive and accessible for all! And yes that means you may have to ensure that there are facilities that are accessible should people need it!
We can do so much to make our kink Spaces more inclusive; see that shy person looking awkward? Maybe try to include them, ask them if they are ok?
As a person who is hard of hearing I can tell you how often people communicate with me in ways that make it impossible to hear- I often just give up reminding people and ignore them.
So imagine if you have more complex communication issues?
Again we can do so much to be inclusive, face people (don't always stare in people's eyes as it's anxiety inducing for some), use clear language, don't cover your mouth. Ask people what you do to support better communication; honestly you will find people will feel so enriched if you take little time to understand!
Conclusion
People with disabilities are at an increased risk of social exclusion, it can be a trial just getting to places (that's if someone lets them go!), so we can all do much to welcome people with open arms!
But remember not everyone likes being touched, so take "opens arms" as a metaphor, and at the very least ask before touching/hugging!

hey.... you should tell me about.... icarus and gabe........:3
hmmnh okay. i was going to go into a full spiel about their relationship dynamic in violent sun but halfway through typing a paragraph i realised i was getting into shit that is like 5 chapters ahead of what's been published and i ain't gonna tread into full spoiler territory for that . instead take a bunch of miscellaneous little semi-canon things abt them that i have stacked up in my brain (with a post-primeification icarus focus)
gabriel is utterly enamoured with the visible heart/nervous system under icarus' transluscent skin. he'll just sit there looking at it all in awe like an ipad baby watching a fruit sensory video
icarus is So Cuddly at all times. his arms find their way around gabriel at every chance he can get
their petnames for eachother are 'angel' (icarus @ gabriel) and 'bird' (gabriel @ icarus) respectively. 'dear' and 'dearest' get thrown around occasionally also
icarus 'deer-brained' prime comically springs several feet into the air when startled. this amuses gabriel greatly and he will spook him on purpose sometimes to elicit this reaction (icarus is fine with this. it's enrichment)
gabriel looooves icarus' big talons. he'll grab onto them and feel them and carress them relentlessly bc they're so sharp and dangerous but icarus is so so gentle with them
icarus is the heaviest fucking sleeper imaginable. gabriel has yet to find an effective method to reliably wake him up
icarus snores also. gabriel doesn't mind though he finds the noise relaxing
gabriel will make them 'kiss' by pressing his helmet into the front of icarus' face. gabriel is gleefully amused by this and icarus is often unimpressed by the futile attempts, rebutting with such things as "we don't have mouths, you know we can't do that"
icarus is aroace and doesn't harbour any attraction towards gabriel, while on the other end, gabriel is beyond infatuated with icarus in all matters physical and psychological. they still love each other deeply regardless and have many an enlightening conversation discussing how they feel about each other in this regard
gabriel collects the shed feathers that fall out of icarus' head wings. he'll use them for little purposes such as quills and bookmarks just so that a piece of icarus can be with him at all times no matter where he is or what he's doing

Crafting Emotional Lines Through Diction and Imagery
In a previous post, I discussed the importance of crafting lines that show emotion. A simple way to achieve this is through word choice (diction) and imagery. By carefully selecting words that evoke feelings like love, nostalgia, fear, etc., and using rich imagery that engages the five senses (taste, touch, sight, sound, and smell), you can immerse your readers in the poem and invoke deep emotions within them.
How to Use Effective Imagery
Imagery is essentially the use of descriptive language that appeals to the five senses to enrich the poem fully. When using imagery, it's often best to go into great detail (think of Tolkien) rather than not enough. Pages of description about the woods or the setting in a story can make it feel like you're there. You can achieve the same effect in poetry by ensuring your imagery is strong and detailed.
For example, consider these lines from John Keats' "To Autumn": Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun; Conspiring with him how to load and bless With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
Keats' use of vivid imageryā€”mists, mellow fruitfulness, and maturing sunā€”evokes the essence of autumn, making the reader feel the season's presence.
It's not a bad thing to write long poems, as a poem can be anything! One such example I often mention is "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Despite being a long poem, it fully immerses you. Coleridge uses rich imagery and language to make it feel alive. Consider this excerpt: The fair breeze blew, the white foam flew, The furrow followed free; We were the first that ever burst Into that silent sea.
Through the use of imagery like the "fair breeze" and "white foam," Coleridge transports the reader into the mariner's world.
How to Use Effective Language (Diction)
Strong emotional poems don't just use detailed imagery; the words you choose also make an impact. I often like to use words that are considered rich, like ambrosia, honeydew, nectar, etc. These words have connotations and sensory associations that can evoke strong emotions.
For instance, in Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven," the choice of words like "midnight dreary," "silken, sad, uncertain rustling," and "grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore" enhances the eerie and melancholic atmosphere of the poem.
Practical Tips for Using Imagery and Diction
Show, Don't Tell: Instead of saying "the night was scary," describe the night in a way that conveys fear: "Shadows crept along the walls, and an icy breeze whispered through the trees."
Use the Five Senses: Make sure to include details that appeal to sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. For example, instead of saying "the flowers were beautiful," describe their appearance, scent, and the feeling of their petals.
Be Specific: Specific details can make your imagery more vivid. Instead of "a bird," say "a raven with glossy black feathers."
Word Choice: Select words with strong connotations and sensory impact. For example, "whisper" instead of "speak" or "gleam" instead of "shine."
Exercises to Enhance Your Imagery and Diction
Sensory Descriptions: Write a paragraph describing a place or object using all five senses.
Word Substitution: Take a poem or passage and replace general words with more specific and sensory-rich words.
Imagery Expansion: Take a simple image (e.g., a tree) and expand it into a detailed description that uses all five senses.
By focusing on detailed imagery and carefully chosen words, you can create poetry that resonates deeply with your readers and evokes strong emotions. Remember, poetry is not just about what you say but how you say it. Happy writing!

Wedding Photography Tips
1. Understanding the Couple's Story
Before the big day, take the time to connect with the couple and understand their unique story. Knowing their journey, preferences, and the key elements they want to highlight will help you tailor your photography to reflect their individuality and create a personalized visual narrative.
2. Scout the Venue
Visiting the wedding venue prior to the event allows you to identify the best locations for capturing memorable shots. Look for natural light sources, architectural details, and picturesque backdrops that can enhance the visual appeal of the photographs.
3. Embracing Candid Moments
While posed shots are essential, candid moments often hold the most genuine emotions. Keep an eye out for spontaneous interactions, heartfelt embraces, and unscripted laughter, as these moments often become the most cherished memories for the couple.
4. Utilize Aerial Perspectives
Incorporating drone photography can add a captivating dimension to your wedding album. Aerial shots of the venue and the surrounding landscape provide a unique perspective that showcases the grandeur of the occasion.
5. Enhance with Editing
Post-processing is where the magic happens. Pay attention to color correction, exposure adjustments, and subtle enhancements to ensure that each photograph exudes the emotions and beauty of the day without compromising its authenticity.
Artful Food Shots Tips
1. Harness Natural Light
When photographing culinary creations, natural light is your best friend. Position the dishes near a window or in an outdoor setting to benefit from soft, diffused light that accentuates the colors and textures of the food, creating visually enticing photographs.
2. Focus on Details
Capture the intricate details and textures of the dishes. Close-up shots of garnishes, steam rising from the food, and the play of light on the ingredients can evoke a sensory experience for the viewers, making the food come to life through the photographs.
3. Set the Scene
Incorporate the context surrounding the food to add depth and authenticity to the shots. Whether it's a beautifully set table or the hustle and bustle of a kitchen, contextual elements enhance the storytelling aspect of the photographs.
4. Experiment with Composition
Play with different angles and compositions to find the most visually appealing presentation for each dish. Consider the rule of thirds, leading lines, and negative space to create captivating and dynamic food photographs that draws the viewer in.
5. Weave a Culinary Narrative
Connect the artful food shots to the broader wedding narrative. Highlighting signature dishes, cultural influences, or personal anecdotes related to the couple creates a cohesive and meaningful visual story that intertwines the culinary experience with the celebration of love.

literally what if i posted no context lover boy excerpts from my 1am writing session. anyway y'all ever get stood up on a first date and fantasise about being stuck in traffic with him
Or maybe they would not talk at all and that would call the end of whatever this is before it could start. Or maybe, in the silence is where heā€™d see how a traffic light glosses red over Ashley's face, his curls, the glint of his pearl earring, and between an amber light is when heā€™d catch Beauā€™s eyes on him, and maybe heā€™d smile, and something in both of them would dovetail between the warmth.
+ beau having autism sensory enrichment time at the beach whilst lying on his own in the sand
If Beau could, heā€™d like to fall asleep to the drift of the waves, steadying, like breaths. It's easy to sink into them. Even with the buzz of cars and voices and laughter and stereos in the distance. He knows he canā€™t sleep here but still lets an arm drape over his eyes, the coolness of the leather on his skin. Itā€™s comforting. He did not consider until now, that he might need to be comforted. He feels as if it would be easier to fall asleep here than his own bed. There is something about the beach, the in-between spaces, these two entities wrapped around him, his awareness of both at the same time as well as his own placement in neither of them. He could be anywhere right now. He could be floating in a strangerā€™s pool, or inside a lava lamp, within a nebula. His yoyo hand, fallen onto his chest, presses on his necklace, the anatomical heart one, and he feels it again, that smooth coolness. Itā€™s comforting, grounds him into his own body. He wants the feeling to consume him.
