I figured out the debate to if Cody or Obi Wan is taller... It's Cody. Obi Wan wears boots with heels so he's taller. When Luke is bunkered down in Obi Wan's old house on Tatooine, he doesn't notice a presence approach him until a chest is being dropped on the floor behind him. Cody gives him all of Obi Wan's old shoes, and the best of his clothes (he's obviously biased), then just leaves without saying anything. Cody goes to find Ahsoka and Rex so he can have a good cry and mourn the loss of his husband. So years later, when Luke meets Din, and history repeats itself. He's the same height as Din. But really he's just wearing a pair of Obi Wan's boots.

people acting as if fred is the leader of mystery inc just because he drives the car and plans the traps as if daphne is not the only one with any common sense. fred loves engineering & tends to be the spokeperson for the group just because he’s Tall and Loud but let’s be so for real that boy can’t navigate a social situation to save his life. velma’s incredibly smart but only book/mystery-wise—girl CANNOT do her own laundry and also will not remember to sleep. shaggy’s got a healthy sense of self-preservation but also will risk his life time and time again for a snack. scooby’s a dog. daphne blake does their taxes and writes the grocery list and budgets their trips and she sits in the passenger seat not because she may or may not be dating fred but because she is the only one who can read a map and convey that information to the person driving accurately and effectively. daphne blake is 100% in charge of the mystery gang (even if only shaggy really knows it) and i will not take any more slander against her

i'm not saying i dress to match the shows I'm watching but halfway through my Only Murders in the Building rewatch I have busted out the black tights, boots and soft sweaters it is definitely still way too warm for and the big earrings, heavy eyeliner and short skirts I never wear so

the mere existence of harue shigima paranormasight absolutely flies in the face of every piece of 2012-2016 feminist discourse arguing that “you can’t write a compelling self-sacrificial housewife character” or that “housewives are antifeminist” because it subverts 0 tropes and relegates women away from the public eye and makes them only child managers. and i LOVE that about her

not only is she an important character within the narrative of paranormasight, including the most important character in her side of the story because you’re playing from her point of view, but it is HER choice to resurrect her son, no matter the cost. it is 100% her choice, and you hear that from her point of view. in fact both ayame and richter argue it at the end of her route, and they’re totally right that harue is ultimately being selfish. harue may be driven by grief and anger, but it’s 100% her grief and anger, not given to her by anyone else.

she doesn’t lack agency because she’s a housewife either. she’s more than willing to commit murder under her own set of conditions, if that’s what you call agency, and her movements aren’t restricted by anyone. richter himself pretty much does whatever she tells him to, with his role being the investigation ability needed for the operation.

and there is so much depth to her. there’s a total apathy for everything, and a dislike for her own home. wouldn’t you be hollow inside if there was only one person in the world you truly loved, and it was taken away from you by a murderer? beyond that apathy is grief for her loss, and anger for the one who killed her son, and selfishness and yes, her choice to sacrifice herself if necessary for the sake of her son. still, it’s not all negative. she has fun watching richter horse around with kids, for instance. her point of view shows you so much about her personality, and it reflects the thoughts of a person, not the thoughts of a throwaway housewife.

basically, i support women’s wrongs, but there’s so much depth to those wrongs and i’d be doing a disservice if i didn’t point out that she is an amazing character before those wrongs.

thank you @ursulakats for convincing me to give the German dub a chance. And I can recommend it! I do admit I cheated and skipped straight to the scene where the cat king and edwin meet because I wanted to see how that played out and I do like it. The cat king's voice is definitely a little softer I guess? You used "sweet" and I can see that, yeah. It's solid work, though. And the nuances so far are really interesting, like in the original, it's "you're oddly handsome" and in the dub it's "you're obnoxiously handsome" like he's really bothered by it which is all kinds of hilarious. also edwin phrasing every command or exclamation as a polite (read: passive-aggressive) question is peak comedy ("may I know what this is?" instead of "what the bloody hell is this?" or "Would you be so kind [as to remove it]?" rather than "kindly remove it.")

honourable mention goes to "it binds you to this town" instead of "it keeps you in this town" which is absolutely fascinating when it shifts the meaning from "it keeps you here with me" to "it binds you to me, in a sense"

I’m currently caught in a seemingly endless loop of “what the heck would Mareach choose for their wedding colors”? What’s your take on that?

*cracks knuckles*

Mario, a lifelong hopeless romantic, has always envisioned his dream wedding as something like “My fiancé will be the single most perfect and beautiful person in the world so I’ll let them do whatever they want (within a certain budget) and just go along with their vision.” And wha’d’ya know: he ends up engaged to a fellow romantic with a vision and a limitless budget! So he sits back and lets Peach call the shots for that reason (and also because he’s undergoing rigorous training in preparation for becoming a royal consort, letting her plan the actual wedding gives him one less thing to stress over).

Peach, while noted for her humility and relative down-to-earth nature, is still a princess, and dammit she wants the most gorgeous and most extravagant wedding ever. Ultimately she chooses the three most obvious colors: white, the traditional wedding color, gold, the color of regality and opulence, and pink, her personal favorite.

While Mario gives her the okay to take full control, she still runs everything by him, because as much fun as she’s having going ham with the planning and decorating, it’s his wedding too! And of course he’s on board; she could have chosen neon green and blazing orange and he’d somehow convince himself that it’s the best decision ever, because she made it, and she’s the best ever.

Though let's be real here: he's canonically a fashion disaster, he absolutely would love something like that, unironically.

Look me in the eye and tell me this man gives a single shit about color and pattern coordination. He does not.

That was going to lead into a big spiel about what they'd actually wear, but that's long enough to warrant its own post, if y'all are interested 😅
