So I drew my boy, Ghostpaw on Ms pain only using the selection tool and started a w.i.p of Berrypaw!! ^^
Idk if any of y'all are familiar (or if I even posted it here) with nightmare Ghosty but i made a short comic mostly in the style of this but it also had some fire alpaca art and ✨ animation ✨
Now that I have a new computer but no way to draw with my stylus on it, I've decided to play around with Ms paint again instead and I think this actually turned out pretty good :3
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this btw because I personally LOVE doing stuff like this ^^

BETTER CALL SAUL!
#this was mostly a test run on procreate dream!#its pretty good but it has a LOT of room for improvement#which i know the developers have been working on since the app is still technically in beta!#but hey i did this in like 3 weeks while working a full time job and also working on other art so#its pretty damn powerful software#good shit if you use procreate already!!#literally the biggest flaws rn are a lack of selection tool an undo/redo button and#and the app itself has a tendency to crash or slow down if theres “too much” going on#like i had to delete all but one of the preloaded animations just so the app would run smoother while i worked#so its still very clearly in its early phase but its good and im excited to see what the developers will do with it#ok review over#better call saul#saul goodman#bcs#jimmy mcgill#breaking bad#animation#brba#video#procreate dreams

Hiya! I'd like to ask how do you do your ms paint art? Do you first make the outlines and then colours, or perhaps vice versa? I really adore your ms paint art and would love to know the process (for practice purposes:))
Depends! My two strategies, featuring Cactus Gunman of Gregory Horror Show fame:
I often just color right on top of my sketches when I'm being silly + designing characters + just trying to figure out what something looks like (and tend to use this to fiddle with details and colors) It's usually quicker for me to end up with something that I'm happy with.
Most of the time when I bother to do separate, cleaner line art, it's because I'm making a graphic for my website. LOL. I think it feels a little more cartoonish-silly, which is usually what I'm going for when I decide to do this. It's also a bit harder to make large changes to whatever I'm drawing, so I'm usually working off of a messier thing I've already made.
(Technically, I no longer use MS Paint and instead use Aseprite due to becoming a Linux user, but nothing has really changed about the way I draw + all of this can be done in MS Paint just fine.)
#I've found that I actually have a harder time making color palettes in Aseprite than MS Paint (I used to use the marker tool to mix colors)#(and haven't yet found out an equivalent tool to mix colors together)#Anyway the only feature that I use regularly in Aseprite that MS Paint doesn't ''have'' is easy transformation controls#(Paint has transformation options in the skew/scale menu but not every computer supports the trick I used to use to rotate stuff)#Also you can animate in Aseprite. There's layers but I don't use them.#beebfreeb art tag#funny talking tag#This was probably a little more talking than you expected but I am very particular about these sorts of things.#Anyway I am so mad about how my favorite version of MS Paint has absolutely no Wine support and that everything that I've looked up said:#''Just use a different program'' With different features?
