Character doodle suggestions I took requests for, now I’m going to yap about them

Queen Wasp was first. I originally was going to do all of them pastel like hers, but I had to much fun with the brighter colours later on so she ended up a lot more washed out than intended. Still, after book 15 I imagine her with dull, greenish scales now she’s without the breath of evil, like it was sustaining her, or she was sustaining it.

Typhoon was fun, I’ve never drawn him before and just kinda messed around with his design. I didn’t check the wiki to remember anything before drawing these so if I’ve forgotten something important about them…oops!

Snowfall was alright, I love IceWings as a tribe, but I hate drawing them because I’m just not very good at it lol. I’m just never happy with how I do their spikes, and I can’t colour them in a way that looks good. It’s definitely just a skill issue, because the tribe I draw most often are NightWings, which use a completely opposite colouring method that I’m much more practiced with now because of that, but I’m still going to complain about it.

There’s not much to say about Scarlet. She’s Scarlet! She’s cool! I like drawing her! Next!

I wish I was better at designing jewellery because Arctic and Foeslayer in their matching formal attire could look so cool if it was done by anyone other than me. For this one I head canon that when dragons are under the effect of animus magic, their eyes tint towards the scale colour of the dragon who cast the spell, so Foeslayer’s are blue-ish because of Arctic’s protection spell. Also I worry I draw her too green sometimes for a NightWing but eh I think it looks nice.

Every Unnamed Hybrids in Wof

All seen during book 14

Skywing Nightwing hybrid (Would name them Torch, we don't know the age of the dragonent, so their Nightwing parent may be a dragon who was allowed outside the island for hunting and had a fling, or simply a Nightwing who moved out of the rainforest)

Skywing Sandwing hybrids (Would name them Daylight, Dawn, Dusk and Daybreak, while canonically they aren't said to be siblings and could be from different Burn and Scarlet soldiers meeting and falling in love (and either eloping together because of Burn's opinion of hybrids or being actually left alone since the hybrid would also be subjects of Scarlet, who doesn't seem to actively hate Hybrids) I like the idea of these four being siblings and getting up to mischief)

Mudwing Seawing hybrid (Would name them Splash, I don't remember them being called a dragonnet so they could the child of a Sea/Mud couple that met when Moodhen was still allied to Blister)

Red kite and my awkward daughter who also works for royalty

My girl Amulet, like Red kite works for Royalty, but instead of being a guard she’s a royal librarian who’s extremely awkward unless she’s rambling about history.

Her boss is the queens uncle and is the only royalty family member shes ever actually met. Shes also a Seawing silkwing hybrid :)

BOIL

Boil is extremely timid but strong willed and was hatched on the outskirts of SkyWing territory. His mother Reef taught him Aquatic so that he would still have some form of communication. His father often took his anger out on Boil, although he would never directly hit or say cruel things to him. Boil learned how to speak through watching his parents, although he has odd speech patterns and his voice is wobbly and weirdly pitched. Later on in his life he went on to be a translator for the SkyWing queen, so that he could decipher anything said by SeaWing visitors in their own language.

BARREN

Usually solitary, Barren lives in between the desert and the Arctic in a makeshift shack and often makes journeys to the Scorpion Den for business. He often sells trinkets found in the Arctic that wouldn’t normally be found anywhere else. He uses his access to these highly sought after materials to garnish power within the Scorpion Den. He also runs a tavern which is partially owned by a local SandWing. They are 100% gay for each other.

MOONPOOL

Moonpool is a very nervous boy, he was hatched under two moons but curiously is only a weak empath. His father, Greatclaw, was troubled by this. Him and Moonpool’s mother often argued about this before they passed of illness. Moonpool is unable to speak aquatic due to his missing bioluminescent scales. He lives by himself on an island somewhere in the Bay of a Thousand Scales, near the ruins of the Summer Palace. He used to loot the palace, looking for anything that had been left behind but when the SeaWings began rebuilding, he stopped after he met another SeaWing named Silverback.
