Gabby says also she has to think and sit about her FA, so it doesn'tseem s to me someone that it is sure to stay 100%. She wants to stay with Marine and maybe other team can make a better offer to them.

The rosters are changing all the time so until we're close to the new season we won't have a clear answer as to where they're going.

was talking to my bf about a con he heard about call rainfurrest con and apparently it was the shittiest bottom of the barrel ass furry con in the world, so much that it had to be cancelled forever. i asked where it took place bc i wanted to know how there could be such a high population of shitty skeevy furries to have a whole con for them all to go to and there still be a larger population of normal-enough furries outside of it, took place in seatttle which explains a lot to me bc everyone knows plenty of gays are furries. but the point that really stuck w me was the fact that all those furries who are so shitty they were clearly rejected from other cons and congregated to this one con to be the shittiest ppl they could (literally, lol) it just... really reminds me of a certain place online, cant put my finger on it 🤔

     You held your breath. Your fingernails were so far into your palms that you figured they’d made permanent indentations there. But you weren’t focused on that.

     It was the bottom of the 9th. One runner on. The Seattle Mariners had only one chance. One out left before they lost this game and the World Series.

     You had never followed the sport much until you met Julio Rodríguez. Before he was the baseball sensation he was today. You’d met him in college and had fell in love with him the day that you met him—which was exactly two days before he fell for you as he loved to remind you. 

     You’d been together ever since. You’d been along this journey with him from the very beginning and had been there every step of the way. He’s said he doesn’t know what he’d do without you but you always thought it was the other way around. Baseball had become a way of life for you now. You followed your boyfriend’s career like it was your own—traveling with him to different cities, talking baseball with him into the wee hours of the night, and you’d never missed one of his games if you could help it. You were so happy for all the success he had achieved over the past couple of years. 

     And now, as you watched Julio at the plate, you prayed for a miracle. You wanted this for him so badly. And you knew how much he wanted it too, even if he’d never admit it to you. 

     You watched him swing the bat.

     “Come on, come on,” you mumbled under your breath, afraid to even breathe lest the air expelled from your mouth change the trajectory of the ball now flying towards center field. 

     You watched transfixed as the ball flew farther and farther towards the edge of the stadium and—

     The ball flew out of the stands. The crowd erupted into cheers. You could hardly believe it. You jumped out of your seat and were vaguely aware that you knocked over a drink next you but you didn’t care. You felt numb and alive all at the same time. You couldn’t hear your voice over the roar of the crowd but you were sure you were screaming with the rest of them. 

     You looked onto the field and saw Julio rounding home plate where the the rest of his teammates had rushed onto the field and were waiting to celebrate with him. As you saw the pure joy on his face you couldn’t help but tear up.

     Fans began filing out of the stadium and the postgame was being set up as you practically bounced up and down with anticipation. You couldn’t help it. As soon as you could, you ran onto the field. 

     You immediately found Julio. As he made eye contact with you his face lit up and he ran to you, pulling you into a tight embrace. 

     “You did it,” you said into his chest.

     “We did it,” he said, pulling back from you to look you in the eyes before kissing you. 

     He interlaced his fingers with yours for a moment before he was pulled away by his teammates, calling for him to go stand up on the stage that had been erected on the field after the game. 

     You listened as the president of baseball operations followed by the general manager and the coaches took turns speaking and giving out thanks and congratulations, each speech followed by a wave of applause. 

     “…And the most valuable player of this World Series is without a doubt, Mr. Game winning walk-off homer himself, Julio Rodríguez.”

     You cheered louder than anyone else in the stadium as Julio was handed his trophy and given a microphone to speak into. You weren’t going to have much of a voice at all tomorrow but you didn’t care. 

     “Wow, this is an honor, thank you,” Julio said, handing the trophy off to one of his teammates, “This really belongs to each and every one of my teammates. The Seattle Mariners would not be the same without them. This couldn’t have happened without them.”

     “I’d also like to give a special thanks to my girlfriend, (Y/n),” he pointed at you and you felt yourself blush as several eyes turned to you.

     “There’s something I need to say to her,” he continued. He gestured for you to join him and you pointed at yourself in disbelief. He just smiled and waited for you to come to him. The other families of the players nudged you forwards, cheering, and you walked to Julio, utterly confused. 

     “(Y/n), I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for you. You have been there with me, right by my side, for everything. You make me a better player and a better person.”

     He continued after a breath, “I can’t imagine my life without you and I don’t want to ever have to know what that’s like. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, (Y/n). I love you so much.”

     You put a hand to your heart and you were pretty sure you felt it stop beating when he knelt down in front of you and held out a small box.

     “(Y/n), make me the happiest man in this stadium, and marry me?”

     You felt tears trailing down your face as you looked down at Julio eagerly awaiting your answer. It was all so much at once and you couldn’t even comprehend everything—this night—fast enough. All you managed was a shaky nod and a choked “yes” as everyone on the field began to clap and cheer. 

     Julio slipped the ring on your finger—you couldn’t believe how perfectly it fit you— before he stood up and you jumped into his arms as he spun you around, both of you laughing as he set you back down again. Had there ever been a moment so wonderful? 

     “You had me worried there for a second,” he whispered to just you, “how bad would I have looked if I proposed to my girlfriend in front of everyone only for her to say no?”

     “Pretty bad,” you teased, wiping tears from your face. 

     Julio leaned down and kissed you, more gentle this time, like he was sure he would have many more opportunities to do this. You placed a hand on his cheek.

     “Lucky for you I said yes.”

     “I feel like the luckiest man in the world,” he whispered to you.

     “Because of all this?” You gestured around you at the trophy that had been presented to him, and the field full of players and their families in celebration with World Series Champion t-shirts.

     “Because of all this,” he wrapped his arms around your waist and pressed his forehead against yours, “Because of you. We may have won tonight. But I’m the real winner—I get to go home with you.”

     As you stood there with Julio, watched him smiling down at you, aware of everyone’s eyes on you, you thought about how perfect this moment was. You wouldn’t rather be anywhere else in the world than here with Julio right now. 

     And you couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your life with him.
