Season 2025/26

The drafts for the 2025/26 calenders are already out and there are a few very interesting things about them:

In the summer Grand Prix 2025 Kazakhstan is back! Two competitions for the men in August

Also the first competition on the new hill in Val die Fiemme is also during the SG for the men and women (if they are ready in time)

The first part of the World Cup schedule is nearly identical for the men and women, which was mentioned as an goal during the FIS meeting in May (the end goal being just having one schedule for both)

Falun is on the calender for the men and women, but the certificate is expired for a mens WC competition so hopefully they are able to renew it in time

29./30.11 are on the calender but still open for the women. The men are in Ruka during that time, maybe they will join them

Lake Placid is moved to the first part of the season in early December for the men and women

Womens competitions in GaPa and Oberstdorf during the 4Hills are still on and two competitions are scheduled in Austria also during the 4Hills (But i doubt it will be in Bischofshofen and Innsbruck, due to the still missing lights in Innsbruck)

Unfortunately during the SFWC in Oberstdorf the women are in Sapporo, so no SFWC for them probably😔

On the 28.02 the men are on the Kulm flying and the 28.02 is on the womens schedule but empty, soooo maybeeeee 👀

The womens WC final is in Vikersund again and maybe this time with even more all the women (and i hope they will add Planica so they have a final with the men together on the flying hill ofc)

Looks like a good season with the Olympics of course being the big highlight!

Red Bull's inability to keep a straight story, a study:

Marko told Motorsport that Daniel was made aware that Singapore would be his last race. “[The timing] was related to a variety of factors and obligations, He was informed, and the worthy farewell performance was, I think, the fastest lap.” [Source: Motorsport 26/09/24]. However, when Daniel was asked to address the rumours in Singapore during media day on 19/09/24 if contractually it was even possible that Singapore could be his last race, Daniel laughed and said: "I don't think so. But I also don't want to stand here and be the lawyer. Look, I would say ‘no.’” This was corroborated by Mekies the following day on the 20/09/24 to Sky Sport F1 when asked about purported Singapore deadline, confirming “We made it also quite public that we will sit down together after Singapore, that's where we are really. So, nothing decided so far".

Writing for Formula 1 on the 26/09/2024, Barretto says that “High-level sources” told him that Daniel was informed he would be dropped in Baku, round 17 of the calendar. However, Craig Slater who broke the news on Sky Sports F1 says his sources told him “Riccardo learned the news that he would not be continuing in that car on Sunday night in Singapore. It was confirmed officially to him in a face-to-face meeting with Christian Horner and it was a very emotional evening, I spoke to Daniel”. Slater added that he visited the VCARB hospitality and "there were a fair few tears in that VCARB hospitality area” [Source: Sky Sports F1 26/09/24]

Horner claims that Helmut wanted Daniel out by Barcelona: “Even around Barcelona, Helmut wanted him out of the car. There was already a lot of pressure on him there.” [Source: F1 Nation podcast, 30/09/24 ] Barcelona was round 10 of the calendar, yet in round 13 when Helmut was asked if there was a favourite among the three incumbent drivers Helmut was still open [Source: ORF 19/07/24]

Lawson stated that “I knew about it for the last probably two weeks,” to New Zealand’s Newstalk ZB after his F1 promotion became public [Source: Newstalk ZB, 26/09/24]. However, when SkyF1 Germany asked VCARB CEO Bayer if Singapore would be Daniel’s last race he said: “No”. And that the much speculated post Singapore deadline is to determine their 2025 lineup: “Singapore is certainly another milestone and there will now be these final discussions after Singapore to discuss our line-up for 2025” [Source: SkySportFormel1, 20/09/24]. However x2, Lawson does not even have a contract for 2025 "I've got until the end of the season," Lawson confirmed in an [Source: New Zealand Herald, 27/09/24]. "I'll find out more about how it looks as the season progresses. But for now, yes, it's these six races."

VCARB TP Mekies told Motorsport that the move is not about immediate results because Daniel still had the speed as per Miami, the move to drop Daniel was to address driver lineup concerns for 2026 however both Verstappen and Perez allegedly have contracts until 2026. [source: Motorsport 27/09/24]

It has just been announced that former F1 driver Logan Sargeant and his wife, Y/n L/n will be the new team principal and CEO of Williams Racing.

If you're unfamiliar with the story of Sargeant you may not understand the significance of this change for Williams. He had a spot on the grid during 2023-2024 before being dropped mid-season and replaced by his now wife Y/n L/n. He then went on to drive for Andretti, an American Indycar team and Y/n won four championships during her time in F1. The two of them have continued to carry on the legacy of American drivers in Formula 1, encouraged by the Andretti family.

MARCH 2025

It's been a year since you had last spoken to Daniel and while you see him around the paddock it wasn't the same. Despite being heartbroken from that night on the balcony and his words that cut into your heart you still sent him a congratulatory text when it was announced he would be racing for Red Bull along Max once again in the 2025 season.

It had been something he talked to you about hoping he could prove himself once again to a team he regrets ever leaving. The text was left on read for days until you received a one word response from him, "Thanks."

His response and behavior for the rest of the 2024 season was killing you and you decided you would never speak to him again. He didn't seem phased by that when you had seen him with a new girl at your brother's engagement party.

You wanted to hate him. Your mind hated him but your heart…oh your silly heart would always belong to him.

"I…I don't understand. You worked with us for two years now and you said working here was your dream after leaving Mclaren. Why are you going to Ferrari?" Max asks disappointed while you sit with him in your office.

You stare at Max and give him a smile with tears in your eyes, "I can't be around him, Max. I'll have to be around him 24/7 for social media duties and my heart can't take the pain seeing him act like I didn't even matter to him as a friend."

And I can't bear to see him with her.

Max can see this wasn't just an argument about Daniel being a shitty friend, no he knew something more had happened even though Daniel refused to tell him he knew deep down something more had happened between the two of you.

"I'm gonna miss you." He says truthfully, you had actually made his days where he would have to film and post things for social media fun. Max saw your passion for the job and knew it was better to do it in an environment where both drivers would make her feel appreciated.

Going into the 2025 season was a breath of fresh air you hadn't felt in awhile and you were doing well on the Scuderia Ferrari team, getting close to both Charles and Lewis had helped heal the sadness you had carried over you.

You were finally moving on despite still being in love with someone who would never love you.

Your brother was at the first race of the season to support Daniel at his home race and back with Red Bull. You hadn't seen him in months so despite knowing Daniel would be at the restaurant Luka had reserved you went to finally catch up with your brother.

"Seriously, you look glowing. You sure there isn't a man in your life being that reason for the smile on your face?" Luka's fiance, Amelia asks you while you take another sip of your second glass of wine.

Daniel's expression falls when he hears her question towards you and your brother focuses on the now interesting topic regarding your love life, "Oh do tell dear sister? Finally got yourself a man?"He jokes with you, only for you to slap his head.

"No you dingus. The only men in my life are Charles and Lewis." You tell them with a straight face until you say Lewis's name and you break out in a smile.

"No fucking way! You and Hamilton?! Danny why didn't you tell me about this?" Your brother questions Daniel.

Daniel stares at you for a moment but you look away not seeing the sadness in his eyes, "Uh I didn't know they were together." He says flatly.

You roll your eyes and glare at the Australian, "No one said we were together."”

"Well the way you fucking smile over hearing his name seems like there is something there." He spits back. The table now grows silent tension obviously between the two of you.

"What's going on with the both of you? You used to be so close. I was shocked to see you leave Red Bull even though Daniel would be back on the team. Remember in 2019 when they offered you–."

"Fuck off Luka! People change and grow up. I did what was best for my career not to follow your boyfriend around.” You cut your brother off from revealing something you had kept from Daniel for years now.

"Please you're the one who's been in love with him for five years." He scoffs, his face drops after saying those words realizing the mistake he had made.

Daniel looks over at you, "What…what did he just say?"

You stand up from the table and throw the glass of wine you hsd left on your brother, "Best big brother ever!" You walk away from the dinner table and avoid the stares from other people.

"Y/n! Y/n wait up! We need to talk what he said back there–."

"Now you want to talk? After a year of ignoring me, you want to talk now? Well sorry but I don't have time for you anymore." You send Lewis a quick text asking to pick you up with an immediate reply saying he would be there in five minutes.

"He said you love me…was it the truth?"”

"Fuck danny I mean everyone could fucking tell but you! Yes…I loved you. Loved. I don't love you now, I don't love the Daniel in front of me. The Daniel I love would have never done what you did to me. What did you call me again? Oh, a dirty little secret? That's all I would ever be."

Daniel shakes his head holding back tears, “That’s…look my wording for that was fucking terrible. But I promise what you feel I feel as well. Fuck I lo—.”

“Don’t. Please don’t say it, Daniel. I’ve loved you for so long that I would forgive everything that has happened if you tell me you love me. But that isn’t fair to me. You have been terrible to me since that night. You’ve ignored me like i meant nothing. As if we weren’t friends before that night. I’m sorry but please don’t tell me you love me when your actions have shown the opposite. Good luck this weekend.” Your heart was hurting as you said the words but it was needed. If Daniel said he loved you then you would forgive everything and you can’t do that to yourself.

It was media day for the Australian GP and Daniel hadn’t been able to sleep ever since you told him you loved him two days ago. He fucked up and he knew that but he also knew that he does love you.

His actions so far may not be proving that but he now has it set in his mind that he will prove to you how much he loves you.

“So I’m gonna ride in the car while Lewis drives and I ask questions?” You ask Charles who nods placing the helmet on you.

“Why aren’t you doing that? It would make more sense and I could get better content with both of you.” You tell Charles but he just shakes his head.

“No it’ll be fun just trust me. Now go!” He smiles widely shoving you into the car with Lewis already in the car.

You sigh and grab your planner going to the Noah where you had questions ready, “Alright Lewis, you better drive safe I wanna get back in one piece. So where do we—.”

The car takes off quickly and your planner falls to the floor, “Lewis slow down!” You yell at the Brit but when you look over you realize it’s not Lewis driving the car but Daniel.

“Daniel! I…what are—.”

“I love you! I’ve been in love with you for quite some time now. I met you in the Redbull headquarters looking lost on your first day and I knew you would mean something to me. I…I don’t believe in love at first sight but when I first saw you I felt a pull and an instant connection I never felt with anyone else. Our conversation flowed so well and god your smile…your fucking smile made my entire day. It makes me happy every single day of my life seeing that precious smile on your beautiful face. So when I realized I was the reason for the frown on your face and not seeing that smile on your face because of me for a year…I was a fucking idiot. An idiot who has been scared to love because of their own insecurities. I wanted to tell you for so long how I felt, sunshine. But when we were at McLaren I was living a fucking nightmare. A nightmare you helped me survive despite all the trauma they’ve left me and so I thought that confessing my feelings you’d leave me and I don’t know if I could survive not having you in my life.”

His eyes filed with tears still driving at a safe pace knowing you were in the car. His breath shaking at the mention of the team who crushed his confidence, your hand reaches over to his thigh and you give it a squeeze encouraging him to continue.

“But I was also conflicted with being your brother’s best friend. I thought it was could lose our friendship but that’s when I realized if he was my friend he would support us. Which he does…I asked him after dinner the other day what he would think and he says I’m an idiot for ever holding these feelings back. Because I met you first you were my best friend way before he was. You are the love of my life. You…I have to look you in the eyes. “Shut it, Maximilian.” You glare at him before smiling over at Charles and Lewis who were walking over to you with the biggest grins on their faces.

“Oh I’m going to give you guys do the most annoying challenges for the socials next week. How dare you set me up?” You get off Daniel to walk over to them, Daniel stays attached to you though.

The two Ferrari drivers shrug, “He called me last night to find out what our relationship was before he told me the plan he had to confess his feelings. I had to laugh when he thought we were dating.” Lewis chuckles.

You join him and look at Daniel, “Come on baby, you really thought me and Lewis were together? I smiled at his name the other night because the same night he had called me before dinner saying he got stuck in the car…turns out Charles had his keys and kept locking the door on him so he couldn’t get out. But it’s cute you were jealous.” You pinch his cheeks.

“I’m so getting you back for that.” Lewis glares at Charles who decides this was his best chance to run off.

Daniel smiles down at you, “I love you.”

Jared Padalecki Joins ‘Fire Country’ For Guest Arc That Could Lead To New Franchise Offshoot

EXCLUSIVE: Jared Padalecki is returning to series television. The former Supernatural star, coming off a four-season run as the lead of Walker, has been tapped for a three-episode arc on the upcoming third season of CBS‘ hit drama series Fire Country, headlined and executive produced by Max Thieriot.

He will play Camden, a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode’s (Thieriot) raw talent.

The deal with Fire Country producer CBS Studios is strictly for the recurring role, sources said. Given Padalecki’s status as a popular leading man with two hit series under his belt, I hear there is a possibility for the guest stint to lead to a new spinoff headlined by him that would join the upcoming Sheriff Country.

Sources stress that the idea is still in its nascent stages. And similarly to the NCIS franchise, which originated on CBS and has generated four domestic offshoots on the network but has also expanded into streaming with the latest spinoff, NCIS: Tony & Ziva (as well as the streaming/broadcast NCIS: Sydney), a new Fire Country spinoff could be for broadcast or streaming. Reps for CBS and CBS Studios declined comment.

Fire Country, which was the most watched new broadcast series in its freshman season, was quickly identified by the CBS leadership as a potential franchise anchor that could spawn multiple spinoffs.

“We are focused on mass-appeal franchises,” CBS President and CEO George Cheeks said in June 2023. “This season’s number one show was Fire Country, which completely lends itself to building out a whole new universe… It became very clear that not only was the show special, it really felt like this could be a great example of us building together a franchise from scratch.”

The first Fire Country spinoff, the Morena Baccarin-starring Sheriff Country, which started off as a planted spinoff episode on the mothership series this past season, was recently picked up to series for 2025-26.

Keeping Padalecki in the fold has been a priority for CBS Studios following the end of its CW drama Walker, on which he was star and executive producer, leading to creating the opportunity for him on Fire Country. Walker was canceled for financial reasons despite being the network’s most watched series.

Fire Country averages more than 10 million viewers per episode in multi-platform viewing. (Live+35-day on Paramount + and CBS TVE)

Season 1 became available on Netflix in the US August 1 and has already reached #3 in the streamer’s daily rankings. This is an additional domestic streaming window for Fire Country whose first two seasons are on Paramount+. It is designed to give the show additional exposure ahead of its Oct. 18 Season 3 premiere on CBS.

From creators and executive producers Tony Phelan, Joan Rater and Thieriot, inspired by Thieriot’s experiences growing up in Northern California, the series follows Bode Donovan (Thieriot), a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California, which sends him back to his hometown.

Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway and Jules Latimer also star. Tia Napolitano, who also serves as showrunner, executive produces alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

Since the end of Walker, Padalecki also has discussed a role on the upcoming fifth and final season of Prime Video’s The Boys, developed and executive produced by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. He is repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment and Fuller Law.

But as you all now know, after an incredible 11 years at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, the time has come for me to start a new chapter in my life and I will be joining Scuderia Ferrari in 2025.

I feel incredibly fortunate, after achieving things with Mercedes that I could only have dreamed of as a kid, that I now have the chance to fulfil another childhood dream. Driving in Ferrari red.

Mercedes has been a huge part of my life since I was 13 years old, so this decision has been the hardest I’ve ever had to make. I’m incredibly proud of all that we’ve achieved together and I’m very grateful for the hard work and dedication of everyone I have worked with over the years and of course Toto, for his friendship, guidance and leadership. Together we have won titles, broken records and become the most successful Driver-Team partnership in F1 history. And of course I cannot forget Niki who was a huge supporter and who I still miss everyday.

I must also share my huge appreciation to the whole of the Mercedes-Benz board and everyone at the company in Germany and around the world for supporting me over these 26 years.

But the time is right to make a change and take on a new challenge. I still remember the feeling of taking a leap of faith into the unknown when I first joined Mercedes in 2013. I know some people didn’t understand it at the time but I was right to make the move then and it’s the feeling I have again now. I’m excited to see what I can bring to this new opportunity and what we can do together.

However, right now, I’m not thinking about 2025. My focus is on the upcoming season and getting back out on track with Mercedes. okay so, i was feeling a little bit funny and just wanted to fool around a bit. so i just checked when the tickets for the 2026 olympics are going on sale and you can actually buy them starting next feburary.

so i fooled around a bit more and looked at the ski jumping tickets and....

yeah....i mean i love them but this is a bit much.

if i would go i would want to catch more than just one event. if i "just" go the NH or LH final for the men and women i would have to pay at least 240€! considering i would have to pay for a flight or train or gas and accommodation as well this would get really expensive really fast.

NEW YORK AND TORONTO (Nov. 19, 2024) – As part of a continued focus on player safety and innovation, the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) is unveiling new and updated rules, as well as key dates, for the 2024-25 season.

Player Safety

This season, the PWHL will become the first professional hockey league to assess a major penalty and game misconduct as a default penalty for all illegal checks to the head that occur during play. Announced today as part of the 2024-25 Rulebook, application of Rule 48 – Illegal Check to the Head will automatically initiate a further review with the PWHL Central Situation Room, by which referees may confirm their original call, reduce the penalty to a minor if the hit was accidental, or rescind it entirely if the review determines the head was not the main point of contact.

Additionally, the severity of the penalty for head-butting (Rule 47) has been upgraded to a major penalty plus game misconduct, while a major penalty and game misconduct has been added for any player who pulls her opponent’s hair or grabs her opponent’s chin strap, facial protection or throat protection (Rule 51).

Innovation

To maintain a forward-thinking approach to hockey while respecting the sport's rich tradition and history, the PWHL has introduced rules designed to favor offensive play.

The new No Escape Rule (Rule 15.5) requires players on a team that take a penalty, which leads to penalty time on the clock, to remain on the ice until after the face-off that resumes action. This requirement, similar to the current No-Player-Change Rule that governs icing the puck, could lead to situations such as teams opening a penalty kill with three forwards and one defender on the ice until an opportunity for substitution arises.

Further, an additional penalty for delay of game will be assessed to a team if it intentionally places too many players on the ice to cause a stoppage of play and create confusion about which players must remain on the ice in the application of the new rule (Rule 70.6).

“We’re always looking to make the game safer for our players and more fun for our fans,” said Jayna Hefford, PWHL Senior VP of Hockey Operations. “We believe these rule innovations take strides toward both objectives.”

The rules were vetted through the Rules & Competition Committee, which was created during the off-season, and approved by the PWHL Hockey Operations. The Committee, chaired by Cassie Campbell-Pascall and Meghan Duggan, includes players, a Head Coach, a General Manager, the Associate Manager of Player Safety and a representative of the on-ice officiating staff.

Other rule changes for the 2024-25 season: 

If a shot originating in the attacking zone is deflected out of play by any means (off either team or the crossbar), the ensuing face-off will be conducted in the attacking zone (Rule 87.5).

A coach may challenge applications of Delay of Game - Puck Over Glass. If the challenge is not upheld, the team that challenged will receive an additional penalty for delay of game. (Rule 38.11).

When a goalkeeper is removed for mandatory medical evaluation or injury, the replacement goalkeeper may be afforded a brief warm-up (Rule 8.2).

Rule 52.1 regarding Body Checking, has been reworded to provide clarity for the On-Ice Officials in applying the rule.

I'm convinced Max is gonna leave after this season if the fia keep acting like this and giving him specifically all these weird and unnecessary sanctions. Add in the fact that red bull have lost the dominance they've had and his previous comments about wanting to do other motorsports, I am certain he's gonna leave at least in the next three years.

I don't remember what his comments on the 2026 regs were but if he's not a fan of them I definitely think he is going to fuck off after 2025 latest.

And honestly, whilst I'll be sad he's going, I do think it'll be the best for him. I'd love to see him in endurance or jumping into a rally car or even just doing esports professionally. I'll follow him wherever he decides to go and be there to support him all the way and I think a lot of us are going to do the same thing.

He has such an impressive record in f1 that when he leaves I do think he's quickly going to rise up to the goat conversations even with people who dislike him. (Of course, for me he's already in like top 3 of all time but I know that's not the case for a lot of f1 fans)

I think we also forget just how long he's been in f1 since he started so young. Sure he is only 26/27 but he's been there for nearly 10 years now. I definitely think f1 is only the start of what his motorsports career will grow up to be and I am so happy that I get to witness it in real time
