The best ski jumpers will soon be back in Zakopane. Right after Planica, Red Bull will organize a target jumping competition here.

"What is the format of the competition? There will be five four-person teams at Wielka Krokiew, captained by ski jumping legends - Adam Małysz, Andreas Goldberger, Thomas Morgenstern, Gregor Schlierenzauer and Martin Schmitt.

The task of each team will be to achieve a total distance of as close to 1,000 meters as possible in eight jumps (two attempts for each of four competitors). There will be no judges' notes, no points for wind and run-up length - only meters count. Each captain will have to develop a specific strategy for their team to achieve a total distance of 1000 meters. Thus, before each jump of a team member, the target distance line that the jumper is to achieve in that particular attempt will be displayed on the runway. The competitor and captain will decide on the length of the inrun themselves.

Ultimately, 20 competitors from the world's ski jumping elite will sit on the starting beam, whose names will be announced in February. The ski jumpers will then be divided into four baskets. Based on them, in February, team captains will draw three members of their teams. The fourth ski jumper for each team will be assigned by fans in an online vote. The point jumping competition will be held on Saturday, April 5 on Wielka Krokiew (HS140) in Zakopane."
