Tumblr media

Well, as for the much younger generation, and as we say in America, it will seem like Greek to you. Take a look... if you don't understand notting, (put on a New York City accent) ...well, it doesn't matter, enjoy ... The show is (was) known for its unique and offbeat humor. SCTV, or Second City Television, was a Canadian sketch comedy show that aired from 1976 to 1984. It was produced by the comedy troupe The Second City, which originated in Chicago and had a Canadian counterpart in Toronto.
SCTV is known for its inventive and often satirical comedy, parodying everything from TV shows and movies to commercials and celebrities. The show was set in a fictional television station, with the sketches framed as different programs on the SCTV network. This format allowed for a wide variety of comedic styles and themes, ranging from absurd and slapstick to sharp social commentary.
Some of the most notable SCTV cast members include John Candy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Rick Moranis, and Harold Ramis, among others. These comedians would go on to have successful careers in film and television.
The show is celebrated for its unique and offbeat humor, and it has left a lasting impact on the world of comedy. If you're interested in classic sketch comedy, SCTV is definitely worth checking out!

Look, when court reconvenes, I'm going to try my best to put you in jail for a good long time. That's my business, but you haven't been convicted yet, so I don't see why you shouldn't enjoy Christmas like the rest of us.

Suppose you were starving to death and you didn't have any food and you didn't have any place to get anything. And there were some loaves of bread out in front of a market. [...] Would you swipe one? - If I was starving, you bet I would. That's because you're honest. You see, I'd have a six-course dinner at a fancy restaurant across the street and then say I forgot my purse. Get the difference?
