But don't worry he turns it around pretty quickly in season 2 iirc.

I went through the Lucifer hating phase too. It took me some time to understand the layers of his character in a way that explained all that - other than just he's the Avatar of Pride, though that is a valid argument for his arrogance.

Well, that is, it's my interpretation of his character. I really don't think they put anywhere near as much thought into it as many of us have. I think it was probably just they were trying to make him domineering and sexy because they thought that's what the players would like. I dunno, I just think they've probably gotta take audience into account when writing the stories for otome games?

As for me, I find it much more fulfilling to figure out exactly why Lucifer is the way he is. I like there to be more reason than just "it's sexy" because it isn't sexy to everyone, you know?

And my thought is that Lucifer is terrified of being out of control due to trauma.

But that's just my opinion. I think everyone can read his character how they like! And if you hate him, that's okay, too lol.

The scent of salt still lingers in the air, but now it feels different, not as welcoming as it used to be. It's a painful reminder of days gone by, days filled with joy and warmth that now seem distant and unattainable. No matter how hard you try, you can't shake off the memories, replaying them in your mind like a scratched vinyl record that refuses to play properly.

Today marks four years since your father's passing, and four years since you left Monaco. You were just eighteen then, fresh out of high school, when the news of your father's tragic car accident hit you like a ton of bricks. In a desperate attempt to escape the overwhelming sorrow, you packed your bags that very night and left before the weight of it all drowned you.

You couldn't bring yourself to attend your father's funeral, clinging to the hope that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't real. But deep down, you knew the truth—your father was gone, and nothing could change that. Even as you threw yourself into your studies, pursuing a nursing degree, the pain never truly went away.

And now, here you are, sitting alone on this deserted stretch of beach, watching the waves crash against the shore in a steady rhythm.

This spot holds a special place in your heart, known only to a handful of locals—a fact you couldn't be more grateful for. Here, away from the watchful eyes of tourist crowds, you find solace as you simply listen to the earth rotate.

You exhale slowly, leaning forward to brush the sand from your palms before reaching into your bag for the bottle of red wine nestled inside. "Welcome back, Y/N," you whisper to yourself, lifting the glass in a silent salute. "Thank you, thank you. I can't imagine anything worse."

A bitter chuckle escapes your lips, a stark contrast to your usual composed demeanour. It's been 1,460 days, yet it feels like your world only just came crashing yesterday.

Needing calm now, you take a sip of the wine, savouring its sweetness, when the sound of approaching footsteps catches your attention, pulling you back to the present moment.

"Seriously?" you think to yourself, feeling your heart plummet like a stone sinking into deep waters. You took every precaution to keep your return under wraps—after all, you paid good money for that privilege.

Arriving just last night, you made it a point to rise at the crack of dawn, a time before the world awoke; a time when it's just you and no one else. You couldn't bear the idea of facing the prying eyes that would surely accompany the day ahead. For once, you didn't want to be known as the daughter of one of Monaco's wealthiest families; you simply wanted to be yourself, stripped of titles and expectations—a daughter mourning her father.

Feeling like a trapped animal, you become acutely aware of every sound and movement, your gaze locked on the figure approaching.

A man.

His brown curls bounce with each step until he comes to an abrupt stop just a few feet away from you.

With a small wave and a nod, he greets you with a simple "Hey."

It takes a moment for you to register that the greeting is directed at you, causing you to tear your gaze away without a response. Your eyes flit between the gentle ripples of the sea and the man settling down uncomfortably close, prompting an annoyed grunt to escape your lips.

“Fuck spatial awareness, huh…,” you mutter under your breath, though not quiet enough to evade his notice. He slips off his black headphones, eyebrows raised in curiosity. "Sorry, what?"

You clear your throat, then sit up straight and gesture expansively. "All this space, and you have to sit right next to me?”

He smiles.

Your gaze narrows.

"But I'm not right next to you," he retorts with a playful grin. "You're all the way over there." He points towards you and then at himself. "And I'm right here."

"Well, it's still too close," you snap.

"Sorry, did you buy this beach or something?" he counters, his grin widening. "Last time I checked, it's open to all members of—."

Growing increasingly frustrated, you interject, "No, I didn't buy anything. I just want some personal space. But clearly, that's lost on you."

With a scoff, you spring to your feet, snatching up your towel and cramming it into your bag, sand and all.

"Wait, you don't have to leave," he insists, his footsteps drawing closer. But you pay him no mind, tossing your phone into your bag and hastily gathering the rest of your belongings from the ground.

Once everything is crammed into your bag, you snatch up your half-empty glass of wine and stand upright, only to feel a foreign warmth enveloping your hand and glass. The man now stands directly in front of you, invading your personal space completely; you have to tilt your head back slightly to meet his piercing green gaze.

"Look, I'm sorry if I did something wrong, but—" he begins, but you cut him off sharply.

"Way too close now," you snap, attempting to pull your hand away, but he refuses to release his grip.

"You do realise I'm trying to apologise, right?" he asks, confusion evident in his eyes.

"I don't care."

His grip remains firm. "There's plenty of space for both of us here."

"It doesn't matter anymore," you respond, your patience wearing thin.

The struggle continues, your voice growing louder with each tug. "Let go of the fucking glass!"

Suddenly, a sharp yell pierces the air, followed by the hollow thuds of broken glass hitting the ground. Shock washes over you as you barely register the sticky liquid trickling down your hand and onto your toes.

"Ah, shit," he exclaims, snapping you out of your daze. You quickly assess the situation, noticing the shattered remnants of the wine glass scattered on the ground, staining the sand crimson.

Panic sets in as you frantically check your hand and feet for any injuries, your eyes wide with fear. After several anxious moments, you breathe a sigh of relief.

I'm okay.

The tranquillity is abruptly shattered by deep groans echoing through the air, drawing your attention to the man's slumped figure with his back turned to you. His face remains hidden from view.

Though he's clearly in pain, you're tempted to slip on your shoes and make a hasty escape. Today is already burdened with its own weight; you're not sure you can handle any more. You even take a step back, ready to flee, but then something stops you.

A pang of guilt washes over you, weighing you down like heavy bags strapped to your legs. With a heavy sigh, you reluctantly admit to yourself, "I can't believe I'm about to do this."

"Okay, fine. How about you put on your big boy boots and let me take a look at that?" you say, crossing your arms expectantly.

There's no reaction from him, not even a response.

Rolling your eyes, you drop your bag onto the sand and cautiously circle around him until you're face-to-face with his unruly brown curls.

"Hello?" you tap his shoulder, frustration creeping into your voice. "Earth to the stranger who doesn't understand personal space?"

"Seriously?" he retorts, his tone sharp.

His eyes meet yours as he straightens up, his expression guarded, but you simply shrug, maintaining a neutral demeanour, and extend your hand.

"Let me see," you say calmly.

For a moment, he simply stares at you in bewilderment, but then he tentatively extends his hand towards yours.

"I see," you breathe, examining the large cut in his palm with care, mindful not to dirty it with your fingers. Despite the blood seeping from the wound, you release a relieved sigh after a thorough inspection—it's not as deep as it initially appeared.

"Alright," you announce, dropping his hand and clapping your hands together. "Go home, make sure nothing touches that hand, clean the cut, and bandage it. Keep it dry for a couple of days, and then reassess."

Without waiting for a response, you turn towards your bag, sling it over your shoulder, and shoot him one final glance.

"This has been... unpleasant," you remark dryly. "I really hope our paths don't cross again. Goodbye."

"Wait!"

You shake your head and ignore him, determined to continue onward.

"Wait!" he calls out again, desperation evident in his tone. "I don't have any bandages!"

You stop walking, considering his words, but still don't turn around.

"And... I don't have any sanitising stuff either," he adds, his voice trailing off slightly.

Slowly, you turn around and wave your hands dismissively in the air, shouting back, "That's what supermarkets are for! I guess it's time for a shopping trip!"

Just as you're about to spin on your heel and leave again, his voice cuts through the distance.

"Look, you seem like you know what you're doing. Can't you just help me out here?"

Shielding your eyes from the harsh glare of the sun, you squint at him as he begins jogging toward you. "That advice," you shout back, "was me helping you out. Trust me, I wanted to leave way earlier."

For a moment, neither of you speaks as you watch him closing the distance between you. When he finally comes to a halt in front of you, you instinctively take two steps back—you need your personal space.

"So?" he says between pants, waiting for your response.

You furrow your brows, deep in thought. "Well, I don't have anything on me, sorry to disappoint. But like I said, there are shops around here."

You resume your walk, but to your dismay, the guy falls into step with you almost immediately.

"So, what? You have nothing at home?" he presses, his gaze burning into the side of your face.

Refusing to meet his eyes, you increase your speed.

"Right, because I'm just going to invite a stranger," you emphasise, "who I didn't want to be around in the first place, into my home."

His hand suddenly grips your arm, causing you to instinctively rip out of his grasp, both of you coming to an abrupt halt.

"What?" you bark, irritation seeping into your tone.

"You can google me," he offers, his voice calmer now. "Lando Norris, Formula One driver. Search my name up. You'll see pictures—every single detail about me, you'll probably find on the internet. Now I'm not a stranger anymore, right?" he suggests, his gaze pleading.

You remain silent, shifting your focus toward the calm waters as you breathe in and out. It feels as though the world has paused, waiting for you to come to a decision, to reach a conclusion.

Today, the anniversary of your father's death, is a day you've been dreading yet anticipating for so long. Its disruption unsettles you, but deep down, you know you can't simply ignore it. As much as you wish to skip over this chapter of your life, tear out its pages, and never look back, you can't. It's not healthy.

Still, that doesn't mean you can't delay it for a little while longer.

"Fine," you sigh, relenting to the situation, and begin rummaging through your bag until you locate your phone.

Quickly, you extract it and raise it to Lando's face, snapping a photo of him with the flash on.

"What the hell?" he exclaims, blinking rapidly.

"For my protection," you state matter-of-factly. "Just because you're famous doesn't mean you can't be a bad person."

Once his gaze meets yours again, he runs a hand through his hair and offers a sheepish smile. "Fair enough."

You nod, acknowledging his words, and continue your walk toward the car park.

"I'm not a bad person, though," he adds quickly, catching up to you.

"Colour me convinced," you reply dryly.

As you approach the car park, annoyance bubbles within you at the sight of it: filled with cars and swarmed by dozens of people.

"You said you're a Formula One driver, right?" you ask, tilting your head up at Lando.

"Yeah, why?" he responds.

Instead of answering, you grab the hood of his jacket and pull it over his head.

"Why did you do that—" Lando begins, but you cut him off.

"The last thing I need is a mob of your fans, okay?" you interject firmly. "The quicker we get this done, the sooner we can go our separate ways."

Lando chuckles as he adjusts the hood. "I'm really that bad, huh?"

"Worse," you deadpan.

"...Right."

With your raven car in sight, you quicken your pace, relief flooding through you. The last thing you want is for people to realise you're back, especially not today.

However, as if your luck has run out, a woman steps in front of you, blocking your path. You immediately turn your focus to Lando, motioning for him to take a picture with his fan and hurry up.

But instead of the attention falling on him, a weight suddenly falls onto your shoulder, catching you off guard. You clear your throat, preparing to speak, but the woman beats you to it.

"Oh my goodness, Y/N. It's you, isn't it?" the woman exclaims, her voice filled with recognition and sympathy.

You can't reply; your mouth feels dry, your tongue heavy with unspoken words.

No, not today. Please, not today.

"I'm so sorry for your loss, Y/N," she continues, her expression radiating pity. It's uncomfortable—the way she looks at you, the way she touches your shoulder so gently. It feels like you're being burned alive, yet you're immobilised, just as you were four years ago when you first heard the news.

"Your father was such an amazing man. And you, I mean, you've been missed. My daughter loves you—"

Suddenly, you're being pulled forward, jolting you out of your trance. You struggle to keep your balance as you try to comprehend what's happening—the woman is gone, and Lando's hand is firmly clasped around yours, pulling you closer to him.

Your personal space has been completely invaded, yet you don't feel the usual urge to pull away. Even if you did, you're not quite sure Lando would let you.

"Your car's the black one, right?" you hear him ask, but the words don't immediately register.

"Huh?" you mumble, still reeling from the encounter.

"That black car over there," Lando points and leans in close, his gaze locked with yours, "that's yours, right?"

You nod, still not quite ready to speak.

Lando releases your hand and holds out his palm to you. "Okay, car keys, please?"

"What? No," you shake your head, rejecting the idea. "There's no need for that."

"Come on, I'm a Formula One driver, remember? I won't crash it."

"It would be irresponsible of me to let you drive in this state," he adds, his voice firm.

"And what about your hand?" you nod toward the injury.

"Like I said," Lando smiles slyly, cocking his head to the side, "I drive race cars; I think I can handle driving with one hand."

Rolling your eyes, you relent, "Okay, fine."

With a sigh, you fish out the car keys from your bag and hand them over to him.

Considering I can see her at the first days with the new team trying to eat the least possible from other people's cooking in fear of being posioned, hence being the fact that at some point eats Gale's food without at least checking it first and maybe even asking for seconds as a signal of full trust.

It's the time I HC Gale's heart had been heavier with every moment when all they saw was one horror following another. He was painfully pondering if Mystra's demand was necessary. So Zilvera has several layers of strategies to avoid being poisoned:

A special set of utensils, plates, and bowls that would react and reveal most types of poison

Eating small amounts, at irregular times, and in irregular quantities

Consciously consuming poison to build immunity

Studying whenever she has the time

Never talking about her strategies—but Gale had figured it out since his eyes always wandering back to her.

And Cooking:

Zilvera doesn't cook. 1) She finds it troublesome, 2) is not picky about food, 3) has no interest, and 4) thinks it's a servant's job.

Gale's cooking and seasoning unconsciously aim to please Zilvera. Later on, he basically cooks to suit her tastes.

Zilvera can eat the same thing repeatedly. Gale absolutely cannot, he needs variations.

Much later, when they live together, they agree that if Zilvera upset Gale, she has to cook whatever he requests. (He usually order seafood just to see her frown. My HC romanced Gale is a terrible tease XD)

Hogwarts always had a special charm to it when the chilly seasons came. The castle was already decorated with pumpkins and the air had never felt better, oh, and the leaves. The crunch as you step on them, how beautiful they look on or off the trees. Autumn in Hogwarts was definitely something worth experiencing.

Which is how you were able to trick Draco into a small game of hide and seek with you after some drinks in The Three Broomsticks. "I know you're here somewhere, darling. The leaves aren't really your best friend today." He calls out in a teasing manner while you were trying your hardest to not step on said leaves, no matter how crunchy they seemed.

The closer he got, the more you started to rethink your hiding spot. There weren't many places to hide in the forbidden forest besides trees, trees, and more trees— and as tempting as hiding in the leaves would be, that would be too much work— so you had to act fast and quick.

You quickly found a clear path but Draco was always close behind, staying still and silent to find you quicker. As you continued to run, you were definitely running out of breath, so as soon as you found a big enough tree to hide behind, you sat there and scanned your eyes all over the forest. Shades of orange and red fill your vision.

He felt close by as if he was right behind you. You weren't too tense since besides harmless creatures frolicking around, it was just the both of you, but you still had to keep your guard up. Something did catch your eye though: a leaf in the shape of a heart. Some parts of it were bent, but it also seemed natural.

A smile grew on your face as you continued to look at it, carefully pocketing it with the worry of getting it crushed. What you didn't realize, was that Draco—

"Boo!" He quickly taps your shoulders and yells, laughing as you flinch and slap his arm instinctively. "Draco!" Your breath was heavy, but you couldn't help but let out a laugh as well. He crouches beside you, your back pressed up against the tree and your legs curled up to your chest.

He had a soft smile on his face, perfect gray-blue eyes, and beautiful, kissable lips. He was perfect in your eyes, you were perfect in his. He leans in and gives your lips a soft peck before taking your hands in his.

"Your hands are freezing, love. I told you, you should've worn your gloves." He frowns, slipping off his own. "It's fine, I promise. I don't need yours, don't worry." She takes his hands to stop him, but he gently nudges them away, slipping one of his gloves on your hand.

"If you won't take both, at least take one. Mother made them..." He smiles, admiring the black gloves with the signature 'M' embroidered on the top with silver.

You look at the glove with a smile, it didn't fit properly, but it felt like it did too. Your eyes meet his and you let out a soft giggle as you noticed his face, his nose was pink, as well as his cheeks. You gave a soft kiss on all three spots, his cheeks seemingly getting more pink.

"The autumn chill hasn't been too kind to you now, hasn't it?" You tilt your head to the side a little to admire his face a little more, a small smile on your face. He chuckles and shakes his head, his blonde hair moving along.

"Maybe, maybe not. How about we warm up in the castle? The others are probably there as well anyways." He stands up and offers a hand to you, taking it graciously. "Sure. Oh, I wanna show you something I found!" You say as your smile grows wide, pulling out the leaf you found.

"Isn't it beautiful?" There was a sparkle in your eye, he loved that about you. He nods and smiles wide, wrapping an arm around you as if to warm you up from the cold weather. "Mhm, just like you." He kisses your head as both of you walk back to the warmth of the castle.

I like to think that Tord/Soldier likes snacking on other’s food, esp if its like savory salty meaty stuff yknow what I mean? I can totes see him as the asshole type to steal the other guy’s food stuff, maybe he’ll be a bit nicer to you and nag ask you first

Soldier and Superhero fighting each other for it but they take it too far though and it become an actual fight for food situation…hic…Reader has to step in and stop them somehow, everyones upset, she has to make both of them 2 pieces and scolds them, they resolved and apologized nicely though at least…

Really love the thought of Monster being the one that rarely nags reader for food like the others Only cause hes a bit distant and has a kinda weird ego abt it y’know, so its Reader who spoils him and tries to get him to try stuff cause he’s a good dog, he deserves it

Before adopting them, she definitely had a habit of sitting on the couch with her dinner and watching YouTube videos about niche internet drama (yes I'm projecting) but now she's realized that, to the boys, this is simply an open invitation. I guarantee that, at first, Soldier wouldn't even beg her for the food. He'd be the type to just reach over and start sniffing at her plate. He's not even trying to be sneaky about it! That bastard would have the audacity to look her in the eyes while trying to take food off her plate! She tries to scold him about it, but he simply does not listen - in his mind, there's nothing wrong with what he's doing. So she's taken to sitting at the dining room table and watching YouTube videos on her phone instead. (Soldier will still put his head on her leg and stare at her expectantly.)

Reader is simply Just A Girl 💅, so we know our self-love queen would go get herself a sweet treat all the time. It varies, usually whatever she's craving at the time. There have been times where she's got a random craving for something she doesn't have, and will get up and leave her house to go get it (the boys get so annoyed and huffy). But she should know that no matter what it is she gets, Prince will want a bite. He'd be cute about it, too - whining and pouting and blinking up at her with those baby blue eyes. Eventually, Reader would giggle and give in, with the warning of "Just one bite, baby." Then she'd share a little piece with him. If it's something that isn't safe for dogs, she'd be less willing to share with him, insisting that it'll hurt him. Still, he'd whine for it. (It's not Reader's fault that she doesn't know he can have them!) And yes, I feel like Prince would be the most well behaved in the car, and the best around people, so he's the one that gets to join her on outings more often. She made the mistake of stopping by a coffee shop and getting him a pup cup ONE TIME, and now he's hooked. Every time they pass by that coffee shop (he knows that it's Reader's favorite, since the baristas know her by name) he will bark and howl and work himself up into a tizzy until Reader finally sighs and gives in. After he gets that pup cup, he's back to being well-behaved and a sweetheart. Reader hates it. Plus, people would fawn over Prince in public since he's such a pretty boy. He absolutely eats it up!

God save Reader if she decides to make bacon one morning. It's not something she does often - she probably decided to do it this time as a special occasion. Maybe it's the morning of her birthday or a holiday. Either way, she decided to make a big breakfast for herself. Which included bacon.

Superhero is normally the first of the four to wake up. From what Reader can gather, Soldier takes the night shift. He stays awake through the night, watching out the windows and sometimes patrolling the house. Because of this, Soldier tends to sleep during the day. Superhero then takes the mantle of "guard dog" during the day. Prince and Monster will sometimes take the night shift instead, but it's normally Superhero and Soldier.

Still, Superhero has a routine of patrolling the house the moment he wakes up, checking for anything wrong. If Reader is making bacon, though? Superhero is glued to her legs in an instant. She'd laugh at first and lightheartedly tell him no. He wouldn't give up. He'd escalate to putting his front paws up on her shoulders and trying to reach the bacon himself. Reader would definitely have to half pick up/half drag him away from the stove. He'd boof and snap his teeth demandingly, as if he's entitled to a piece of this bacon and how dare you not let him have a piece! Reader, always one to fight him on everything, would be adamant not to.

Then Soldier enters the scene. As I said before, Soldier usually sleeps through the first half of the day. But the moment the smell of bacon spreads through the house? She hears claws clacking against the floor as he barrels into the kitchen. It would probably be the most excited Reader has ever seen Soldier, tail wagging and eyes shining brightly. Superhero immediately growls and snaps at Soldier. Reader would just let them tussel at first, using the distraction to finish cooking her bacon. Eventually, she realizes "Oh shit those are NOT play growls-" and quickly runs over to the two to separate them. It takes the promise of two pieces of bacon each to get them to finally settle down.

Reader never makes bacon in her house ever again.

Meanwhile, Monster would be different. Where the other three would be swarming her legs the moment she starts cooking herself dinner, Reader notices that Monster is always sitting patiently to the side. She has to subdue the others by continuously feeding them bites of what she's cooking, but Monster never begs for any. He's the only one that she can eat on the couch with, because he'll lay on top of her feet and won't try to steal her food. But she does notice him glancing at her food. So, since he's always been such a sweetheart, Reader would happily offer Monster food. He would take it slowly, hesitantly. But he feels better after Reader cooes and praises him for being so good. His tail would wag contently. Still, he would never bother Reader for her food. We love Monster in this household <3 I will say, I like to think Tom personally doesn't like bacon. So, if Reader tried to offer some to Monster because it's only fair, he would sniff it, then huff and sneeze and turn his nose away. Doesn't bother Reader, though. Just means it's one less rowdy wolfdog trying to tackle her.

I mean we already know that Levi is a gruff but secretly warm Papa bear with his Paradis boys, and with Armin being the timid baby of the group, the possibilities for wholesomeness are immeasurable.

The reason thinking of Levi as the father figure for the Paradis boys makes me so happy is because I think he does continue to see them as his children even long after the Rumbling. I mean, watching them get recruited into the military as very young children, and then being part of the group of adults that guided them into having the right skills, mindsets and motivation, it's hard for me to imagine that Levi does not subconsciously begin to bother about them at every bend and corner. While we've already seen how much he cares for them through the seasons of the show, I also like to spend time thinking about his Papa tendencies post-rumbling, when the Paradis boys are more or less proper adults.

So this is maybe him inviting them to stay at his place when they're visiting, honestly get quite fed up of them in less than 2 hours, but instead of kicking them out (he says he will but pffft), he covers their scraggly sleeping forms with blankets instead. He gives them pep talks before their public appearances, very practically telling them to "give no fucks ever" to the annoying press and their questions. He gets pissed when he finds they haven't been eating properly and goes on a long rant about how weak and stupid they are all the while peeling a dozen potatoes and cooking an elaborate lunch. He comments on their new hairstyles. He tells them off when their suits look wrinkled. He forces the boys look sharp and neat. He tells them they should hold their heads high and be confident and brave.

With Armin, I DO think Levi has a special soft-spot, both in canon and as a headcanon. It's very endearing to imagine he quite liked Armin right from the start. A polite kid, very smart, diligent, responsible, level-headed. I can't see him doing anything to tick Levi off (other than being Eren's friend lmao). Armin also possesses a sincerity and pureness of intent (i.e. his dreams are very simple and joyous, not necessarily hurting anybody directly) which I like to imagine reminded Levi a lot about the very motto of the Scouts and what they were striving so hard to achieve. I don't think Levi would've treated him any different from the others though. Anyway. Good boy with a good heart and poor taste in friends (one raging idiot and one gloomy brat).

Coming back to canon, see, I think that as much as Levi made his choice in Shiganshina about who to give the serum to, that while he doesn't regret it, he also feels responsible for burdening Armin with the implications of being brought back to life. Levi might've been very aware of Armin's physical shortcomings, but without a doubt he acknowledged his intelligence and strategic talent. This is *one of the reasons*, I believe, that Levi thinks it's fine to let Erwin rest and bring his suffering to an end, because as inexperienced and young as Armin is, he has the potential to reach great heights, in due time.

Anyway, Levi's choice burdens Armin to very great extents, forcing him into situations where he struggles with feelings of being inadequate, insufficient, and overall useless. I don't think Levi was blind to any of this, just that he might not have engaged in your typical "sit-your-kid-down-buy-him-a-snack-and-talk-feelings" type of thing. However I can see him as giving Armin tiny pointers to bring him out of his mental turmoil, even if only for brief moments. So maybe that's telling him "Oi. No time to spiral, focus." or "Your friends are depending on you, get out there." stuff, you know?

Post-canon, you have Armin trying to battle greater things, such as the grief over Eren's death, his contribution in the Rumbling, his personal guilt, his overwhelming insecurity and so on and so forth. Do you think Levi would be watching all this and not think of his own personal responsibility in pushing this young boy with innocent dreams into this disastrous role of power, tasked with leading the world? I think not. I think Levi would feel more responsible for it than ever before, and coupled with his existing soft-spot for Armin, would quite naturally slip into a parental role. Perhaps they have long conversations. Perhaps Levi always makes sure Armin's got pressed clothes and new socks. Perhaps Levi reminds him now and then to take the tie off and go have fun. All in his deadpan delivery of course, but still.

notes: this one’s longer than a blurb, but i still don’t know how i feel about it. it’s not really romantic but maybe i’ll make a part 2 eventually to make it romantic, idk.

i’ll be honest, when i found out my best friend at UMich has an attractive brother, i was over the moon. after Luke introduced me to Jack over facetime, i fantasized about him for months. he was hot, he seemed really nice, and he had a big soft spot for his family, which was extremely attractive to me. but then Luke brought me home for the summer.

being my best friend, Luke knew that my family wasn’t great. they were an entirely large reason that i chose to go to college in Michigan instead of back home in North Carolina. so, Luke invited me to spend the summer with he and his family at their lake house, citing that they always bring friends along so it’ll be okay if i come.

last summer is when i really met Jack. i had been excited to spend the summer with Luke and his family. i had met his parents many times throughout Luke and i’s school-year-long friendship, and got a chance to meet his oldest brother Quinn once, so i was looking forward to really getting to meet his middle brother. that is, until i actually met him.

he was nice for the first few days, but Jack’s sweet boy persona was broken when i overheard him make a comment to his friend, Trevor.

“she’s probably only his friend because she knows he’s from a well-known family and that he’s going to the NHL.”

“i don’t know, Jack. she seems sweet, why would you think that?”

“i mean, why is she here and not spending her summer with her own family?”

i left later that week. i never told Luke what i overheard, but i’ve made my new feelings about his brother clear. which is why it took a lot of convincing from Luke in order to get me to join him at the lake house again this summer. but ultimately, Luke won and now here i sit, on the couch beside him at the Hughes lake house, dreading Jack’s arrival.

“can i go out back?” i ask Luke for the third time. i already know the answer, but i’m hoping if i ask enough, i’ll wear him down.

“no, y/n.” he whispers back, leaning down so no one else hears. “i still don’t understand what you have against him. he’s nice.”

“to some people.” i mutter under my breath.

“what?”

“nothing.” i reply. it’s at that moment that the front door opens and the devil himself steps into the entryway, Trevor in tow behind him.

“Jack!” his family cheers around me, but i stay silent. Luke stands from his spot beside me and i watch as Jack and Trevor get hugs from the four other Hughes’.

“hey, y/n.” Jack looks towards me, sending me a soft smile that i assume is for false politeness, and i give him a short nod in acknowledgement.

“hi.” i reply. he turns back to his brothers, his parents already having dispersed back to the kitchen where they were starting on dinner. Trevor comes over, bending down and scooping me into his arms for a hug.

“hi, y/n!” he speaks excitedly and i laugh.

“hi, Trevor.” i hug him back. Jack may be rude, but his best friend isn’t. Trevor and i kept in touch after my abrupt departure last summer, and he’s one of my closest friends now. “you did so good this season. i’m so proud of you.”

Trevor pulls back to grin at me.

“you watched my games.” he teases, fingers lightly tickling my sides.

“of course, i did! but, i also attended Luke’s games and watched Quinn’s, so don’t go feeling too special.” i joke. he lets out a mock gasp, throwing a hand over his heart.

“the betrayal! i thought i was your one and only.” he dramatizes.

“nice try, Zegras! if anyone’s her one and only; it’s me.” Luke chimes in. “i knew her first.”

Luke pulls me back down to the couch beside him, pulling me to his side in a jokingly possessive manner. i smile up at Trevor, shrugging.

“i mean, he’s right.” i giggle. “but boys, boys, settle down. there’s enough of me to go around.”

they chuckle and i settle back into Luke’s side, leaning against him as his arm wraps around me. it’s not unusual for us to be touchy. i’m a touchy person. what is unusual however, is Jack’s seemingly annoyed gaze on us. his eyes seem fixed where his brothers arm is resting on my waist, and i ignore him in favor of joining the new conversation between Trevor and Quinn.

it’s been a week since Jack and Trevor arrived to the lake house, and the tension between Jack and i has been palpable. he seems nice enough, but i refuse to let my guard down around him again.

it’s nine in the morning, Luke and Trevor are still asleep; but i’m currently at the lakeside, laid on a towel and catching some sun.

“hey.” i jump at the voice that comes from behind me, holding in a groan when i realize who it is. opening my eyes, i look over at him.

“hi.” i reply.

“sorry, i didn’t expect anyone else to be out here this early.” he tells me, stepping forward and sitting down a few feet away from me.

“it’s fine.” i say, closing my eyes again, thinking the conversation is over.

“what’s your deal?” he asks, making me look at him again.

“what do you mean?” i question.

“you’re so nice to Luke, Quinn, and Trevor. and i mean, you’re not mean to me per say but, you’re definitely not as nice as you are to them.” he says. “i think this is the longest conversation we’ve had.”

“sorry.” i shrug, not sure how to respond, but that only makes him scoff.

“what is your problem with me?” he’s irritated now, i can hear it in his voice, and it makes me irritated in return.

“you- last summer, i-” i struggle to convey my thoughts, and he raises his eyebrows, nodding and urging me to go on. “forget it, you’re a fucking asshole.”

“what the hell did i do?” he argues. “you said ‘last summer’, i was nothing but nice to you last summer. same this summer.”

“your niceties mean nothing to me when you’re just gonna talk behind my back.” i tell him.

“what?”

“i heard you last summer.” i confess. “talking to Trevor.”

“y/n-”

“no. you don’t get to judge me.” i say. “not like i owe you any explanation, but i’m friends with your brother because he approached me first. he talked to me first. i didn’t know anything about your family or Luke going to the NHL for the first few months that we were friends. and you know nothing about my home life, so don’t just assume that we all have a perfect family like yours that we would want to go home to. Luke is nice enough to invite me here so that i don’t have to see mine, and i can’t thank him enough for that. i won’t let you ruin my summer just because you don’t like me.”

i let a deep breath, feeling as though a weight has been lifted off my chest.

“i’m sorry.” his voice is quiet and gentle. “last summer i had just broken up with a girl who was using me to gain a following and i thought i was looking out for my brother, but that’s no excuse, you’re right. i had no right to judge you or assume the worst in you. i can really see how close you guys are, and i can tell he means a lot to you. you mean a lot to him too. but you’re wrong about one thing, i don’t dislike you.”

“you don’t?”

“no. i actually really like you, i think you’re a good person, y/n. and i hope that you can forgive me for how i spoke about you.” he looks at me with gentle eyes and a small smile, and i sit up.

“can we start over?” i offer.

“i’d really like that.” he sticks out his hand. “hi, i’m Jack.”

“nice to meet you Jack, i’m y/n.” i grin, shaking his hand.

“pretty name, for a pretty girl.” he tells me, making me bark out in laughter.

“oh my god, you’re so corny.” i giggle.

“hey! i complimented you!” he jokes. “now you gotta compliment me.”

“okay, okay. you have a beautiful smile.” his cheeks twinge pink at my compliment and i bite my lip to hold back a smile.

“flirt.” he says.

“you started it!” i laugh out.

“yeah, yeah.” he rolls his eyes, but a smirk spreads across his face. his gaze flickers between me and the lake for a second before he rises to his feet. i lay back down, closing my eyes again, but before i can get comfortable, i’m lifted from the ground, opening my eyes to find myself in Jack’s arms.

“oh, don’t you dare.” i warn him, but he doesn’t listen, sprinting towards the end of the dock. “Jack, oh my god!”

he laughs as he jumps into the cold lake, water engulfing us as we sink into it. i push away, kicking towards the surface, my hair sticking to my face as i rise from the water. Jack pops up next to me within seconds, chuckling at my shocked expression.

“it’s on!” i shout, splashing water towards him. he blinks for a second before splashing back at me, starting a war. we splash each other back and forth, occasionally going under the water and laughing together.

“what alternate universe did i wake up in?” i hear, making me turn my head towards the dock to find Luke watching us with his face scrunched in confusion.

“hi, Lukey!” i grin up at him.

“you guys are getting along.” he states.

“yeah, turns out, she’s not that bad.” Jack jokes, nudging my side. i blush and nudge him back.

“yeah, i guess he’s not that much of an asshole after all.”

Tuesday Morning rolled around. A hectic shift change later and you were on the road back to your apartment. Your PIC’s voice steady through your speakers, detailing every high and low in your performance throughout the past 24 hours.

“Really, you did great,” she said, her soft voice full of the kind of confidence you could draw from.

“Thanks Burkhart,” You said, focused a little more on pulling in to your parking spot, right next to a dark green Aston Martin.

The two of you said your goodbyes before hanging up and leaving you to hurry on into your apartment.

Guanyu had made himself at home, a still warm breakfast on the stove and coffee brewing. It filled your home with a kind of sweet and comfy scent that you would miss once Guanyu hit the road again.

“I have a flight at four tomorrow morning,” he organized two plates as he spoke. Low, but energized. “I wanted to spend some more time with you before I left.”

The two of you settled in to your couch, tucked off into a corner adjacent to your TV, ready with Netflix pulled up.

You woke up with Guanyu, 2:30 in the morning. Too early for breakfast, plenty early for a Redbull.

“I love you, but next time maybe don’t.”

Guanyu rolled his eyes, ever the morning person to your slow moving night owl.

His hand found your waist as the two of you left the apartment, checking pockets for his belongings. You ran through his checklist again before waving your hand for him to get moving again.

The drive to the airport was quiet. While you could never fall asleep too easy in a car, it was still too early to be too talkative. You shifted your attention from the road ahead, to Guanyu. One hand in yours, the other steering.

He stayed just as quiet, not taking his eyes off of the road. Even after full minutes passed I’d you staring as him.

You held his hand in both of yours, running your thumb along his wrist.

“What are you thinking about?” He asked, shooting you a glance.

“Next shift we’re having a meeting to determine wether or not I’m staying at the firehouse,” you said, “I’m pretty confident, but still nervous.”

Guanyu had pulled into a parking spot, next to where his team had just arrived moments earlier. He pulled your hands into his.

“They love you,” he squeezed your hands, “Chief Gonzales wouldn’t let you go if he wanted to.”

“Sometimes I think they like you more.”

“They like anyone who will feed them”

The two of you had drifted closer together, everything outside of the car drifted further away. Your hand found itself rested on his cheek, his on your arm.

“I love you,” his voice barely hit a whisper before his lips were on yours. The kind of soft, tame kiss that would never hold you over until his next visit, but it would have to do.

The next kiss just a quick peck, followed by an exchange of “good luck” and Guanyu jumping out of the car and running to catch up with his team. Leaving you alone to make your way back to your apartment. Hopefully to recover some sleep.

To The Izzy Canyon

Despite my dissapointment with s2 and the crushing realization that this show was never actually as smart as we thought it was, I will say one, actually two, good things. The OFMD cast, especially Con, Vico, and Kristian, were a huge part of what made OFMD season 1 (and 2) as beautifully queer as it was, and I will forever be grateful for all the joy and passion that they put into it. I will stand by the fact that OFMD season 1 was, intentionally or not, a beautifully executed story and one of the best pieces of queer media I have ever seen.

But what really made OFMD so special to me was the fanbase, especially the fanfic that you all have blessed this world with. I read mostly Izzy-centric works, and so much of the stuff I've read, even the darker stuff, has been both intelligent and kind in a way that I rarely see in other fandoms. It's just... beautiful to experience, and I hope that all you OFMD fic writers know that your contributions are what make this fandom so special and worth staying in, even if I've been dissapointed by canon. Your works, as crazy as it sounds, have helped me gain confidence and self-acceptance in ways I didn't even think were possible. If the angry little rat man can deserve to be loved and cherished and healed, then so can I. So can all of us!

I cherish you all so much, even if I don't interact much with anyone, and I hope you all know that your works have been a bright spot in my life, and that I can feel the love, kindness, and defiance radiating from them, passing from your heart to mine <3

Reasons to watch Fire Country (besides Jared's guest star spot)

Okay I know we're all very excited about Jared guest starring in a few episodes of Fire Country. We love it when Jared gets work and him continuing to work with CBS is a great sign for the future of his career.

BUT

I don't want y'all to sleep on the rest of the show. I don't want y'all to dip in for those few episodes and dip back out again. I think Fire Country deserves better and I think you all, as the Walker family and fans of Jared, deserve a better viewing experience.

Now, with only 32 episodes of content thus far, Fire Country may not be a hard show for people to catch up on, especially with the DVD set for season 2 coming out next month and its recent arrival on Netflix. But it wouldn't be fair to the show (or to you) for me to tell you to catch up on it for context's sake alone. That's a great way to feel the urge to speed through "unimportant" moments or perhaps resent characters that you may otherwise like.

So, instead, I've crafted a list of reasons why you might like Fire Country regardless of Jared's involvement and I implore you to consider these reasons as season 3 edges closer (premiering October 18th!).

Reasons to Watch Fire Country on it's own Merits:

Bode Leone

Bode Leone, our main character, is quite possibly the best thing about the show. He's at the heart of everything and his story is as inspiring as it is heartbreaking. A victim of addiction, Bode struggles with his own vices and proving that he's grown past them, both to himself and the people around him. His struggle with his self worth is familiar to anyone that watched Supernatural and Max Theriot plays him beautifully. His journey for the last couple of seasons has been great to see and I can't wait to see where it goes in the future as he tries to maintain his quality of life.

Family Themes

Without getting too much into spoilers, one of my favorite things about Fire Country is the inherent themes of Family and Love. Family is explored in a variety of ways, from the central Leone family (and other biological families) to the general Cal Fire family to the family of people you chose for yourself. Each episode comes with its share of strife, but also its share of hope with the knowledge that our characters have people that love and support them, even in their darkest moments. That's the kind of show I like to see and I know people with Supernatural and Walker under their belts will love it too.

Firefighting action badassery

I know many of us fans of Jared and Walker love some good whump and badassery and there's plenty of that in Fire Country. Fighting a variety of fires, from chemical messes to out of control bonfires, leans itself to heroic rescues and more than a few injuries. There are abundant hospital scenes and more-or-less realistic recovery periods and I love it so so so so much. It just scratches the whump itch for me and I'm sure a lot of you will appreciate it too.

Freddy

Freddy was Bode's best friend in season 1, whether Bode wanted it or not, and his absolute positivity and sunshine immediately made him a favorite for me. But there was more to him than that, which quickly became apparent as we learned more about how he came to be at Three Rock in the first place and about his life outside of prison. An unfortunate victim of a racist system, Freddy left behind his girl and his future child, something that becomes a sore spot for him when his daughter his born and he can't be there. While he did leave at the end of season 1, we got to see him again in the season 2 finale and I literally shouted with glee when I saw him again. Give this show a chance for the loveable sidekick if nothing else.

Max Theriot

Max Theriot is an absolute blessing. You can tell in interviews about the show that he's passionate about the show and the fact that he pulled inspiration from his own life just makes it even more special. Not to mention he brings a genuineness to Bode's character that makes me feel for him, even when he does things that annoy me. And, like Jared, he wears pain very well. Just another reason to love the show <3

Sheriff Country

Sheriff Country, a spinoff based on an estranged Leone family member in the police department, got an excellent introduction in season 2 and has already been picked up for the 2025-26 season. Morena Baccarin is an amazing addition to the cast and her character has such a fascinating place in this tangled family web of public servants. I cannot wait to see where the story goes next and I think it's a story worth sticking around for. (Plus- more guest starring potential for Jared!)

Excellent DVDs

Okay maybe this is just a me thing but I love a good DVD set and the season 1 DVD set sported all 22 episodes, a gag reel, cast interviews AND a behind the scenes walkthrough of how they make the fire in the show, which I absolutely loved. I can only imagine the same amount of care will go into season 2, especially with the backdoor pilot episode for Sheriff Country included.

1. Which 911 Lone Star season premiere is your favorite?

i think it's a tossup between 1x01 and 4x01. i adore the pilot, i genuinely think it's such a good setup to the show and i love the intros to all the characters, but i have such a soft spot for 4x01. it has some of my favorite moments in the whole show and starts off my favorite season, it'll always have a special place in my heart

2. Which character do you think had the best introduction or first scene in the show?

i'm gonna choose two and say tk and tommy. tk's introduction is genuinely so brilliant, throwing us right into the action of him all excited, ready to propose, to how it all comes crashing down with finding out alex is cheating and everything that comes after that. i love the scene with him and owen at the 126 for the first time, tk saying that they don't belong there, imposing on this community's grief and trying to tell them how to live their lives. it's such an incredible detail that immediately added more layers to his character, cemented his empathy and kindness from the very beginning. i love that his introduction wasn't just watching him go through something horrible, we also learned so much about his personality/view on the world.

and tommy....her s2 introduction is just everything. i love the way they balance her being so skilled and experienced as paramedic captain with her self-doubt. i also really liked how they set up her arc of struggling between being a mom and going back to work and trying to juggle both, it's one of my favorite storylines in the whole show. and her friendship with judd being so central was perfect and so incredibly done

3. What is your favorite moment of 1x01?

the ending, i think, when the alarm goes off and they're all jumping on the truck and we see judd at the end get into the driver's seat. it felt like the perfect way to wrap up the episode.

4. When did you first start watching Lone Star and how did you find out about it?

5. What is one wish you have for the season 5 premiere?

“Well for you that would be different!” Oscar cheered, “Because you’re like my best, best friend.”

Logan could feel his heart flutter and his cheeks burn, his smile growing wider as well. Oscar was completely oblivious to this, too busy focusing on the sunset before them and comparing it to Logan.

Oscar stared far into the horizon while Logan stared far into Oscar’s eyes. They were definitely something worth staring at, they were gorgeous. They were absolutely beautiful. 

“Yea, you are a lot more expressive around me.” Logan said.

“I know, it’s intentional.” Oscar replied, clapping his hands gently.

“Logs!” Oscar shouted from up top. Logan, who was walking along the track, shot his head up and saw Oscar, flashing his typical polite cat smile.

Logan smiled back, waving at him.

“Hello Osc.” Logan replied and Oscar waved back.

“Are you coming to the party with me?” Oscar shouted down.

Logan nodded, “Yep!” 

Everyone gave them stares, laughs or glares but Logan could care less, this was him and Oscar’s way of communicating. They had this special chemistry that you couldn’t find anywhere, it was unique and one-of-a-kind.

Oscar flashed his polite cat smile one more time and skipped off. Logan felt joyous, internally doing some sort of victory dance as his heart skipped a few beats.

Oscar had something Logan never knew he needed until he met Oscar, some sort of comforting voice or touch. Oscar was… calming.

Logan sits down next to Oscar on the bench, the awkwardness is tangible. Everything has changed since they last sat down.

Oscar became a sprint winner. People started loving Oscar Piastri.

Logan crashed in just about every race. People started doubting Logan Sargeant.

How times have changed. How people have changed. Everything has changed.

“Tough season?” Oscar asks, his voice slightly soft.

Logan can only force out a self-deprecating laugh, “You think?”

Oscar nods, “Talk to me if you need.”

Logan turns to Oscar and smiles, like they used to, when everything was simpler.

Oscar’s polite cat smile stays on for a while.

“I’ll still be here, right here for you.” Oscar says while patting the bench, his voice giving Logan some odd form of encouragement.

“You will?” Logan says with partial disbelief, since pretty much everyone left Logan on his own the moment failure hit.

“Right. Here.” Oscar says, placing heavy emphasis on him patting his spot on the bench. 

“Thank… thanks.” Logan smiles again. This is probably the most times Logan has smiled in 2 minutes.

Oscar chuckles, his voice laced with happiness “Your smile never changed.” 

In a solid attempt to cheer Logan up, Oscar continues, “I’ve missed seeing your smile.”

Logan can feel it all coming back, the positive emotions Oscar made him feel back then, the positive emotions Oscar makes him feel now.

Logan lowers his head in between his knees, hiding his awfully red blush from Oscar.

Oscar shifts himself to be closer to Logan, his hand firmly on Logan’s shoulder.

“I won’t ever leave.” 

Logan’s face is hidden but Oscar knows he’s crying.

Everyone either left, or changed. Everyone but Oscar. Oscar hasn’t changed, Oscar hasn’t left.

Oscar’s here to stay, and Logan can trust him

mistria thots now that im a little ways into summer

first of all, took fucking forever, but thats because i go to bed at the absolute last second nearly every single day. and on that note, i feel like every single day is a frantic rush to run around and do the dozens of different daily things there are that there's never enough time for. I dont mind not having enough time in the day to do everything. that's very reasonable. but there's a ton to do, and the map is very large and i have to run very quickly to cover it all, and if i want to fish at all or go into the mines, that's my whole day. and up till now there's always been 5 quests of varying importance going on at once. and it's all quite exhausting. i'm still playing, but frankly the pace of everything has made me quite tired of it. i have to slow down and i have slowed down, but it doesn't feel great because there's a dozen season exclusive collectables that i've missed out on and other main quests that i could be doing things to progress and- and- and-! i'm sure you get my point. it's not relaxing, at least not for me. yes, this game is meant to be played for multiple in-game years, but that doesn't quell the FOMO, especially since i have no idea how much more content this early access version still has. who knows if i see the other seasons before i run out of plot.

before the end of spring I already had 2 cows and 2 chickens and basically enough money that i won't need to farm again for a while before i imagine it'll run out, because you get a lot of cash and very little to spend it on that matters. there's a shitload of recipes and cosmetics but i'm here for gameplay, baby. i'm not touching that. the only thing worth spending money on in that sense is pre-smithed tools, but I can make them myself extremely easily. i also have no need to cook because foodstuff is given as rewards for tons of things and there's multiple spots in the world that return energy for free, and now i have 2 slots for a spell that restores my health, with a bunch of potions that restore the slots i found before i even had magic, and i still have free bath-house trips to restore health too, so even though i run out of stamina just about every day, i hardly ever feel it. the time remains the most challenging thing to deal with.

on a more positive note, the animals are really cute. kind of weird you don't have to milk the cows, but i do understand the decision because that process gets tedious and makes me not engage with cows either. im looking forward to when i get their hearts high enough that i can do the breeding mechanics, because that's pretty new to games like this afaik.

i also.... really hope the festivals that come in other seasons have more going on because the spring one was really, really bad. it's just nothing.

on characters, i still dont have super strong feelings for any of them because they are by and large, flat tropes that i don't really like. i haven't done much with them, so most are only just starting to get to single heart relationship level from just semi-regularly talking to them. paying attention to their schedules to get to know them hasnt really been a thing between the map telling me where they are and everyone usually always being inside the inn whenever i need to find them. haven't seen any events yet afaik, unless those are tied to the request board.

and speaking of the request board and events tied to it! it is nice and convenient that the special requests are the means by which you trigger events. like usually you have to walk up to whoevers quest it was to trigger the event, so events are opt-in, can be at any time, and triggered anywhere you find the person. it does lose any element of surprise though. i like wandering into an area and something triggers out of seemingly nowhere, but i understand that system has... a lot of inconvenient flaws that i myself have been burned by before. tough problem to solve. this method is fine enough.

so uhh!! that's all i can think of for now! fine game, not really set up in a way that works well for people like me who have to do every single thing immediately. fortunately, no one else has to play like this because they are my own neuroses and nothing built into the game itself. i recommend everyone else play this slowly if they play it at all, and itd probably be more fun.
