FINALLY finished the new episodes and uh wow…get those kids some therapy. But in all honesty it was badass af and I kept thinking, “Oh man this would’ve been an amazing spot to introduce Tarn or Overlord.”

"I don't understand why you won't sleep in here! Why won't you even stay the night! It cannot be that bad!" Gale exclaimed, watching Tate pack yet another bag full of clothes.

He scoffed, grabbing a jacket that was most definitely Chad's off the back of his desk chair that he had only used twice. "It's nothing personal, Mom. It's just.. It's whatever. It doesn't matter. I just don't like it."

She scoffed. "That's all you ever say. You don't like it, you don't like it. But you won't tell me why. Is it the paint, the furniture, the.. what's the word you kids are obsessed with? The vibes? Is it the vibes, Tate? Are they throwing you off?"

He almost laughed at the ridiculousness of her statement. "No, Mom, it's not the vibes. I just don't like it."

"But why? At least give me a reason!" She feigned a pout. "Don't hold out on your poor mother."

She was doing it again. Pushing his buttons in that way only a scummy journalist would know how to do.

He set his jaw, ignoring her to look for his shoes.

"You can't just not give me an answer!"

Beside her in the doorway, his mother's new boyfriend, Brooks, gently stated, "Gale, why don't you leave him be?"

"Don't tell me how to parent my child," she snapped, and Tate couldn't help but snort. As if what she was doing could be called parenting. She didn't even know what his favorite color was and she hadn't bothered to ask. She'd just painted the walls a dreadful neutral gray, and plastered them with generic posters for things teenage boys were supposed to like. Cars, sports. Girls. She didn't know him at all.

"This room.." He finally stated after slipping his feet into his Converse, "is so suffocating."

She froze, blinking in surprise. "What do you mean?"

He didn't offer an explanation, too busy shoving between her and Brooks to get to the door.

"Tate! Come back! What do you mean?"

The door slamming behind him was his only reply.
