*LOUD CRUNCHING NOISE OF SOMEONE EATING CHIPS DIRECTLY INTO YOUR EAR AT FULL VOLUME and a guy starting to say 'sorry you missed that solo-* before managing to hit reload, now wide awake
being used to having adblock on everthing unfortunately makes you very vunerable to getting jumpscared by an ad on youtube slipping through

brother where is the charles appreciation
#so dark out here#umm dead boy detectives review here we go! first two episodes were definitely the worst of the series. both are kinda weirdly paced and#the exposition is done poorly in places. overall from episode 3 onwards it gets much much better with pacing and show dont tell#do not understand for the life of me why they made crystal palace american#kassius nelson (<- crystals actress) was very good in places and kinda ehhh in others and im 90% the issue for most of the latter moments#was just that her american accent is not great. sorry they did that to you queen#dialogue was a bit dodge sometimes as well#stuff i liked now! the plot felt quite solid and i really enjoyed the monster of the week approach i think thats the perfect way to#do a dbd adaptation. was a bit annoyed they immediately went to america but port townsend was an interesting setting and all the#supernatural elements/characters fit in nicely#major props cos i feel like the show mostly pulled off the emotionally charged moments without getting corny and the dialogue was generally#good in those moments#particularly charles/crystals heart to heart in ep. 3 and like the entirety of episode 7 (<- ep 7 was brilliant)#overall very fun watch and i feel that the more irritating typical YA show garb was at least a bit offset by them being willing to get#quite dark in places#bit sad people are mostly posting about edwin becos charles was my favourite. has been entertaining watching americans scramble around#the cultural differences in the show#shaking my inbox like a maraca. if anyone wants to talk at me abt the show i will love you forever#.log

Scrambly Gaming App
*this link is an affiliate link* I started my "game for pay" app journey with Mistplay, so I'll be comparing most of the apps I review here to that. Mistplay used to pay out pretty instantly. However, recently they seem to use a 3rd party to pay out which now seems to take a couple of days. Paypal payouts are my default unless an app doesn't offer them, and then I'll usually go for Google Play credit to boost the other apps that do offer Paypal.
I haven't been on Scrambly for long, but I was able to cash out $1.00 pretty quickly by playing Merge Hotel Empire: Design. This is your typical merging game, and it's fun enough. I didn't see too many ads and it was enjoyable enough to play for that. The payout went through quickly - that being said you DO have to verify your identity by uploading your ID and a selfie.
Feel free to ask any questions about either the game or the scrambly app. I will post an update at a later time after I've been on the platform longer.

Got a month’s prescription of klonopin. Wish I could find out how other people are affected by it, but all I find are posts about getting fucked up. I mean, I guess good for y’all, but not very helpful for me 🤷🏻‍♂️
#I’m about to take my first one in a bit#been trying to find actual reviews online that aren’t from people just partying#it suuuucks#okay first of the nurse was super sweet and nice BUT I ASKED FOR XANAX#I did NO research on klonopin so now I’m scrambling to build up the courage to take this stuff#I’m sorry. I’m not a big drug user. I’m paranoid about side effects#I just want to feel mellow and not as sad#I know this is for anxiety not depression but my new antidepressants aren’t in yet and I need SOME kind of relief#I kinda just sat and cried and freaked out in the car earlier so… wanna get on this before that hits again#I tried to go for a run this morning.. which… I can’t run. this body sucks and I have bad balance and it just feels bad#so instead I walked around the neighborhood for awhile. it was nice. so pretty.#it rained earlier so it was cool and dewy and peaceful#and I could hear the birds and felt peaceful for awhile#now I’m in this house and it’s OPPRESSIVE!#THIS WORLD IS SHIT PRISON IN ISOLATION GALAXY!#I went to Walgreens earlier and tried to see if I would be able to work in a place like that#trying to hear people talk while wearing hearing aids#it… wasn’t a hopeful trip. depressing. I want a job and to get out so bad#I need cash and I need to be around people#it’s just hard. trying to adjust. trying to see some hope. it’s rough.#I wish I could listen to music but it’s just noise now#and I can’t eat because nothing tastes good. it’s all dry and bland and I know I’m hungry#and being hungry makes my mental state worse but it’s hard to feel the need to eat#blegh whatever. gonna try some ramen and I got a Gatorade for the calories so we’ll see#sorry about the bitching#I appreciate if you actually read all of this#text

Man I love when I lead a review session and every question is met with blank looks. But half the questions I asked are the same as their professor asked in lecture this morning.

sometimes i forget how distinctly american my mother is, and how we are generally a product of our surroundings
#personal#just found out she’s pro-military!!! and she was accusing me of being anti-military because of watching x files. like girl i am 10 episodes#into this show. i have had these views for a Long time (VERY specifically about the us military). and im just like. damn. like yeah of COURS#it’s not plastered everywhere. ‘give me some peer reviewed articles’ i would but i just cant bring myself to get the energy to get stuck in#this exhausting npd abuse loop again (sounds exaggerated but im basically falling for exacerbating the situation. which is why it’s always#hit me the hardest i guess. because she Will just straight up either not mention it ever again or just simply deny it. and i’m not exactly#educated enough on the subject to remember specific points. my memory has been destroyed BECAUSE of this kinda shit and i cant recall decent#argument points anymore. not that i even particularly want to!!! read up on all this shit!!!! oh and even realizing that she was Definitely#seeing me as an Extreme. like girl what. i forgot that npd does that#reminds me of how. she’s very liberal. she was the one who got me out of the closet in the first place (bc i wouldnt do so myself)#and yet the other day. i swear she said something that was almost terf rhetoric#FUCK i HATE that my memory has already scrambled it. fuuuuuck and here i thought my memory was coming back#but it was something along the lines of implying that men Would try to get into women’s shelters etc in a skirt or smth and i#i just stopped talking i was so shocked#god. sorry didnt mean to vent lmao but im. hhh im just Tired yknow?#mandont

Absolute Blue
by joemanaco
Price: Name your own price
Included In: Bundle for Ukraine
Genre: Shooter
Pitch: A horizontal shoot-them-up set in space.
My expectations: The overly smooth, shiny, pre-rendered art style, with all its mismatched pieces, is so working for me. Itch doesn't usually attract the harshest critics for free, little indie games, but the average user review score is a shockingly low 1.3/5. Good or bad, I'm psyched to take a crack at this for myself.
Review:
Stop me if you’ve heard this one: A spaceship flies to the right, shooting enemies, weaving through tight spaces, and collecting power-ups.
Tumblr media
There’s nothing wrong with a space shooter that sticks to genre conventions. (See my glowing review of 1993 Space Machine.) We know what works. Konami established the modern horizontal-scrolling shmup in place with 1981’s Scramble and cemented the form with Gradius in 1985. It is a solved genre. Absolute Blue knows how these games are supposed to work, but it has no idea why they work. It bungles all the details.
Tumblr media
Long stretches without enemies or obstacles are common. Sometimes they’re littered with a few items. Most of them just add to the score (yippie…), though some increase weapon spread. Get one or two, and holding down the fire button nearly fills the screen with rapid shots. Enemies go down quickly and inflict minimal damage, which is good, because their shots are all but impossible to see among the relentless barrage of excessive, glowing explosions.
Tumblr media
Walls, however, are instant death. They’re also often obscured by explosions and particle effects, and thanks to the spaceship’s eight-directional, single speed controls, precise moves are out of the question.
+ Looks the part. + Raining death in all directions
– Boring, slapped-together level design. – A baffling mix of ridiculously easy and punishingly cruel. I couldn't get through the first level. There are three difficulty levels, and as far as I can tell, they're all identical. – Excessive effects make it difficult to see what's happening and cause way more slowdown than a sprite-based, 640x480 game should on a modern PC. – Runs exclusively at 640x480. On my 1080p TV, full screen is a blurry mess, and windowed is itty-bitty. I messed around with dgVoodoo 2 to force better scaling options, which does look better, but this game is not worth that kind of effort.
🧡🧡🤍🤍🤍
Bottom Line: Not abysmal, and it's free, but with hundreds of better horizontal shooters, why would you bother?

Scrambled (dir. Leah McKendrick).
Being a (single) woman (past your mid-thirties) seems pretty terrible. McKendrick makes a charming and blunt comedy about the perils of waiting until you are "ready" to settle down when everyone else and even your body considers you past your prime.
