insurance makes sense on a conceptual level but in reality insurance companies turn decently huge profits by a) relying on things not happening, which they mostly don't b) ensuring things mostly don't happen by exluding anything that might make "things happening" more likely and stacking it in their favour and then c) finding any excuse and loophole possible to not cover you if anything ever does happen

like. insurance would be good if it wasn't managed by insurance companies

my view of giant characters in pet trope stories:

doesn't do anything about the tinies being sold as pets: bad

buys a tiny as a pet to own them as a pet: evil

buys a tiny as a pet to free them and be nice to them: okish, (i mean, you still gave money to the human traffickers. they're still gonna but and sell more tinys, you haven't really done anything to stop them)

beats the living hell out of the guy selling sentient beings and frees all of them: good, epic, amazing, based

really trying to get ahead of the fourth of july shitshow this year. started pushing corid on every young or new rabbit in the barn; they'll have it well in their system by the time the fireworks start, and i might offer chamomile to the older ones that i'm not worried about getting ill from eating things off the ground. for the hoofies i bought a calming paste to try so that maybe this year i won't be shooting one of my goats the next day 🙃

unfriendly reminder that if you fire fireworks near livestock i hate you and i hope you get a really big boil directly on your asshole
