violet has decided she has beef with someone (probably a sheep) again and so it's been three days of chasing her around until she lets me grab her. again.

it doesn't come through on camera very well but the way the satin gene changes the texture and density of the individual hairs plus the white-ear making his undercoat white it uh. basically makes him look like he's going bald. his fur isn't thin, his density is quite good, but he just LOOKS bald. and i don't love it lol. i can only imagine combining that with lutino, which will turn every coloured area of the fur yellow, it will look Even Worse, but only time will tell

unfortunately la niña took a really bad nosedive yesterday and i found her dead tonight :( looking like a pyo but i'll do a necropsy tomorrow. she was about 4.5 which isn't super old but she'd just made it to her retirement home after her last litter. i'm not usually sentimental but she was a good doe and one i got from a friend who is no longer in rabbits at one of the first rabbcord meetups back in 2021. the first photo is from when we had to smuggle her into a hotel room for the night :d who knew that little worm would grow into such a large and lumpy lady
