The season changed overnight so that was the end of the round for the Sandersons! Not much really occurred for them - no promotions, no age ups, nothing! Bit of a boring round, really.

At the end of the round, Blake is now 34, Louise is 31, Amelia is 10 and Gunner is 4.

Previously, my toddlers would become children at 4, but I recently decided to alter my aging system slightly to get more time with toddlers and teens, so he'll age up next round (see this post on my second account for details).

Our next family is the newlyweds Marco and Daisy Colasanto, who've been allowed to move out of the barracks and into private base housing!

Once more I got to do Dragosteel's holiday card, and what a pleasure it was to do that one. This year the theme was awkward family foto and Christmas sweaters, or at least spren sweaters? 

Do you have a favourite?

People have been asking where the favourite Kholin son is, and yes originally Kaladin was in there, but then got booted out to be replaced by Gallant. (Seems like nobody signed any adoption papers so far…)

But I made some art with him, Shallan and Adolin to restore balance. And so I could design Adolin’s sweater details, because how can it be a fashion oriented card and then NOT show his choice for it?! It has swords and horses (Sureblood is in the back), of course!

And yes, ever since I was asked to include that chull plushy in that card, I knew I had to get one at Nexus. They are adorable. So round. His name is Chubby. Chubby the chull. TSA find them suspicious.

so pixies regularly try to take over fairyworld is timmy on the pixie side?

At first, Timmy was adamantly against the Pixies. He'd tell Jorgen every time he got a notice of their plans to take over Fairyworld, and work to stop it! But it gets a bit harder to resist against your own court the longer you hang out with them.

In the present time, Timmy schedules to be out of FairyWorld during their takeovers. He doesn't try to stop them, but also refuses to be anywhere near when it happens.

He... doesn't like how he's slowly starting to cheer for them. Or how their arguments are becoming more convincing. Or how he's struggling to recall why he was so against them to begin with.

There will come a point where he becomes an active participant. Timmy worries that it's coming sooner than he'd like.

It is actually funny how with both kaladin and dalinar their brothers deaths are such major parts of their respective arcs that they would likely be different people if not for it. Meanwhile shallan just kinda goes “huh my brother is dead? Whoops turns out it was my close friend Kaladin that killed him” and then moves on like nothing

HEAR ME OUT, Ghoap BUT ITS ICE HOCKEY

So imagine they get Soap new on the team, and Ghost being an ice hockey nerd has been training his entire life and can’t stand Soap’s chill and nonchalant attitude towards ice hockey. But then the more they train together, both with the entire team but also one on one, the more Ghost starts to realise Soap isn’t that bad after all. They have matches against other teams like the shadows, Farah’s team, etc. And of course eventually Soap and Ghost fall in love with each other (slow burn babeeyyyy) and have to navigate that whilst also still working together as a team. (Thinking of either a conflict where Soap absolutely fucks up an important competition and Simon gets all pissy, or maybe something where they go up against manual Roba’s team, or maybe one gets injured and the other feels like it’s their fault (Still just spitballing lmao)). Also add in a dash of found family with Price, Gaz, Ghost, Soap, roach and the rest of the 141 team all becoming close friends.

Once everything in the house was repaired, Blake spent the rest of his day off teaching Tiki how to talk. Honestly, it was the main selling point when he'd got her - he needed Charisma if he ever wanted to be promoted higher than his current position, but the thought of standing in front of a mirror for hours on end bored him to tears! So Tiki would hopefully help him to build that skill.

Gunner and Amelia played together cutely when she was back from school. He drew while she made towers with the blocks.

"You wanna draw, Mimi?" Gunner asked, holding out a crayon.

She noticed it was one he'd recently been chewing on. "Um, no thanks, Gunner. You're the best at drawing so you keep it."

Blake scooped Gunner up and tossed him in the air. "Sorry, little man! It's time for bed now!"

"Again! Again!" Gunner pleaded, but to no avail as he found himself being carried up the stairs.

21 - Rusty

All I could think of was Wax running up staircase t the end of Bands of Mourning and noticing that he might be getting too old for this.

Also I just enjoy drawing him. and as an appendix to this: @curlytale and I were musing how Wax didn’t throw his back out in TLM, I suggested that surely Steris would have penned out a proper training schedule and then @priscellie threw in the idea of them doing scadrian yoga each morning. :D how could I not sketch this!?

[For context Price and Gaz are on vacation: Ghost is in charge, and series of unfortunate events leads R/n into believing Ghost is somehow possessed by a demon. She asks Roach to find her a priest, cut to later at the base’s lounge. R/n sees what she thinks is smoke coming from outside she opens the lounge door to find Soap standing there in full Priest garb, Roach is next to him in a black hoodie holding a fog machine with the exorcist theme playing on his phone.]

Soap: Good evening. I believe ya require my services.

[gives R/n his card]

R/n, reading his card: "John MacTavish, Swimwear Model"? 

(R/n gives him a strange a look.)

Soap: No, turn it over.

R/n, turns the card over and reads: "John MacTavish, Exorcist"?

Soap, to Roach: That’s enough Garry.

(Roach pauses the music)

R/n: Roach, I thought you were going to find me a proper exorcist.

Soap: No need, sinner. Seen the movie, [unzips the front of his costume] got the t-shirt. Now if ya kindly moves aside I’ll locate all the pockets of malice and vibrations of doom...

[R/n reluctantly leads them to the library where Ghost is napping and talking in his sleep.]

Soap: What putrefaction is this? Garry, holy water. (Roach hands him a spray bottle) Music. (plays The exorcist theme) Be thou not afraid! (he sprays Ghost)  

[[Ghost stirs awake and starts raving out gibberish at Soap who sprays him more.]]

Soap: Ack! it speaks in tongue!

Ghost, looking around wildly: What’s goin on???!!

R/n: it’s an exorcist!

Ghost: Damn You! {tackles Soap to floor and starts throttling him.} Damn you Johnny! (Gets Soap in a head lock) Ya stupid bloody idiot! 

{Ghost manages to take the spray bottle from Soap and starts spraying him in the face with it.}

Soap: It said damn! now Garry! the stake!

[ Ghost looks behind him and is threatened by Roach with a hammer and wooden stake.]

Ghost: MY GOD!

[Roach freezes surprised that Ghost said God]

Ghost: This base has gone insane!?

R/n: That's what I've been trying to tell you.

Ghost, to R/n: You, you're unhinged.

Ghost, to Roach: You, you're demented.

Ghost, to Soap: and You, you're just you.

Soap, to Ghost in panic: Careful! Holy water's expensive! It's mixed with the urine of seven virgins.

[Ghost looks at the bottle than at Soap in disgust.]

Roach, pulling his hood off: Dude, It's just tap water.

Soap, glaring at Roach: I asked you to do one thing!

[R/n, Roach and Soap start to bicker as Ghost throws the bottle away and goes to call Price to see how long he and Gaz are going to be on holiday for? because he fears he’s not gonna last long...]

Hi regarding your Haunts post. It was so cute! Ghost got immediate brownie points for taking care of Soaps sister, I hope the rest of the group leave needing a change of cloths.

Haunts are usually seasonal right? (Idk I’m not American) So Ghost could be working at it whilst on leave as a favor or it could be one of those community outreach/recruitment things the army sometimes hosts or a family fair/expo they also attend.

What would everyone’s costumes be?

Would there be a competition on who could get the most scares? (Excluding ghost) who would win?

If Soap joined Ghost the next year would they do a couples costume?

thank you!!! :D and yeah, ghost might be dressed as a crazed masked killer but hes not gonna just let this kid sit in the middle of a dark maze with a bum ankle lol he might play a monster but hes not actually one. and while its against policy to stalk guests through the whole grounds (something something harrassment something something liability blah blah blah), price lets this one slide because he heard maggie backstage and was very much not impressed. gaz and roach might have joined ghost in the stalking. just a little ^-^

and yeah, most haunts (at least in the US) are seasonal! they typically run from sometime in september through halloween or occasionally early november. there are a few year round houses thought! a local haunt in my city actually runs all year, and its located inside a mall! but youre right, he could just be on leave for a month or so to help out with community outreach! i think id want the rest of the riley family to be alive in that case just so he and tommy could cause a ruckus together XD

as for costumes... i definitely see ghost as a slasher villain type character, sort of in the veins of jason voorhees or michael myers. its probably cliche but i think it fits the vibes! gaz would kill (hee hee) as a vampire, either in just stage makeup or full special effects and prosthetics. price is probably either a werewolf or in a ghillie suit for jumpscaring. nikolai doesnt work as a scare actor himself (he works backstage) but if he was forced to, hed want to be a victim lol. laswell is a mad scientist type, no question. roach pulls of a zombie way too well. once she joins the haunt, maggie would be a slasher too as ghost's protege. (dont tell anyone but he teared up a little when she told him.) if soap joined the team, hed probably work backstage with nik, and like nik he'd want to be a victim XD

oh for sure theres a competition for the most scares, and theres also a competition for the most creative scares! like you said, ghost wins the most scares almost every year, but roach has come very very close many times! hes a sneaky little bug, and he always catches people completely off guard :D the most creative scare the last year went to nikolai, who did some wizardry with the lights and sound effects and nearly gave price a heart attack.

a trophy is waiting for anyone who manages to scare laswell. no one has ever been able to claim it skfjhsdlkfhsdl

OHHHH ABSOLUTELY GHOAP WOULD!! i love that :DDD i think the whole haunt has a costume contest for the end of the season afterparty, and its the most ridiculous thing ever. ghost gets soap to come as his plus one, and its adorable! idk what their costumes would be tho so if anyone has suggestions please let me know!
