#reading chapter 7 updates back to back on both servers YEEHAW #essentially shield silver is just silver but with his backstory has elements from yuulis' backstory #or like. the silver owl's kingdom falls apart much much more disastrously #so silver is!! essentially the same type of creature that yuulis is hnm hnm #he's less proficient in swordplay so sebek beats his ass in sparring #but he makes up for it in magic!! hes at least twice/thrice better than his og incarnation #though he lacks self confidence bcs hes surrounded by fae like malleus n lilia who r just. innately good at magic #he has thick arm guards instead of the regular diasomnia gloves #bcs his he needs protection for his feeble human arms #( jk he's still as muscular as normal silver bcs he has to swing that big staff around )#was gonna make the shoulder pad on his right to make him mirror the knight of dawn but it bugged me too much grrrrr #his clothes r also more loose but still not restrictive #without saying much #shield silver is closer to malleus than the og!! he imitates malleus' mannerisms a lot when casting spells. like the floaty thing mal does #also indirect yuulis lore ig #shield silver always covers up ( like malleus cards ) bcs he's got a mega complex about his stitches #unlike yuulis he has no means of rlly hiding his stitches by himself #so he's under an illusion spell ( cast by malleus ) where to the regular person he looks like a regular human #also when he overblots. he becomes the phantom himself ( indirect yuulis lore part 2 )#hence why.. fucked up looking creature in the last image #tahst enough rambling from me hehe live laugh love #twst #twisted wonderland #twst silver #sebek zigvolt #twst grim #twst yuu

May I ask for some details about your Tav? What do you mean by hasnt really lived as a tiefling before? Like literally has never seen another tiefling? Seems like being abducted by the mindflayers introduced major life changes to your Tav

I'm sorry this took so long to answer, but I ended up doing a whole bunch of art to answer this!

Ember has a really extensive backstory that's kind of long, but the short version of it is: she was caught in the crossfire of a deal her parents made with a devil. They couldn't have a child of their own because her mother was too severely ill, so they made the deal in the hopes of returning her health and along with it the ability to bear children. Unfortunately devil deals being what they are, they ended up with Ember who the devil stole from her birth parents.

Her mom was a high elf and her dad a half-elf, and her mom's side of the family were quite vocally anti-Tiefling. Because of her mother's health problems, however, they couldn't just sever contact with her parents because they relied on their money to cover the cost of healers, expensive potion ingredients and the like. They couldn't be trusted not to be a threat to Ember though, so the decision was made to disguise her as their biological daughter throughout her childhood.

As a result, Ember didn't even know she was a Tiefling until she was around 4 or 5, when she began to present as a sorcerer and accidentally undid the disguise spell (she ends up a bard thanks to her mom, but her control of magic comes from sorcery).

Before the events of the game, the most time she ever spent as a Tiefling was when she was 13- when her mom died and her dad disappeared, the disguise spell having relied on her mum's magic. She went through hell for a while after that and as soon as she could learn how to cast the spell herself, she jumped at the chance and went back to living as her old half-elf self. So when she gets taken by the Nautiloid, it's her being forced to actually live as her real self and as a Tiefling for the first time. As a result she doesn't have great control over her tail, because she's just straight up not used to having one.

She also spends a lot of Act 1 jumpscaring herself whenever she walks by a mirror lmao.

I do plan to do some comics that are set earlier in the game at some point, and those ones will explore more of her backstory. What I've done so far has just happened to be set in Act 3, after she's already sorted a lot of her shit out. I just have no idea when that'll actually be!

there was an ache in my heart when i awoke in a strange, beautiful world that wasn’t my own. even as months turned to years, i still missed the familiar skies, the voice of loved ones and the home i had left behind. i wrote letters that went nowhere and whispered silent prayers that reached no one. it was like i was plucked from my own reality and placed in a world where i didn’t quite belong.

yet, as much as i longed for home, i was determined to learn in this new life. sumeru became my sanctuary and the akademiya, my solace. i learned their languages, customs, and secrets while sharing stories of the stars, landmarks, and beauty of my own world. the scholars listened, fascinated by the similarities and differences, but none more than al-haitham—a student assigned to guide me through this foreign land. he was a quiet presence. thoughtful and curious. he did not pity me.

and over time, he went from guide to peer to something more. over time, i wasn’t just seeking knowledge but also him. but what was the point? what was the point of falling for him if one day, i could just disappear—vanish back to my world, leaving him and teyvat behind? this could slip away at any moment. this might be as fleeting as a dream.

despite all reason, i still found myself loving him deeply. in a world that wasn’t my own, he had become my home.

its 2am im going to sleep now but you should ask me about my ocs so i can ramble abt them whenever i can. there is no updated info on them anywhere except my notes and my server but. im fixated on my "religioustraumaverse" and within it currently on the fucked up lesbians carrion and reynard <3 its a modern fantasy setting (for now at least). carrion is a mad scientist/mage turned scary undead monster thing with a god complex and reynard is a manipulative church/cult member turned leader who acts caring and kind and sweet to keep people dependent on her
