Ace -> hes fresh from trainer school but hes not as serious with his journey/has less of a direction as Deuce hence him having less evolved pokemon. I chose mostly the “prankster” archetype pokemon + fairy type bcs I’m biased he gets to have pink pokemon!!! Chimchar is his starter, Anippola gave it to him as a congrats for getting into trainer school!! He has a Tinkaton bcs I had a Tinkaton in my Scarlet playthrough named Ace ( my team was named after twst characters heheh )

Deuce -> same as Ace kinda, but he’s furthering more faster than him ( like in mainstory where he gets his UM first than Ace ). In my head, he’s aiming to be a Pokemon Ranger. He gets the “delinquent” looking Pokemon but in my head Scrafty & Mabostiff have been by his side since middle school days as a Scraggy & Maschiff, the others have mellower personalities to symbolize his growth but also moe gap reasons heheh ( hence why he has the Low Key Toxtricity ). Lucario is there cus of the friendship Evo + my Scarlet playthrough ( I boxed it though bcs i wanted to use Paldean pokemon as much as possible ).

Yuulis -> Junior pokemon researcher that does a lot on-field work hence why they have mobile pokemon ( Golurk for flying, Golisopod for surfing/diving ). I have an inside joke among oomfs where Yuulis liked eating bug so I put Golisopod ( they won’t eat their pokemon though..… ) Wanted to give them at least Gen 4 & 5 pokemon bcs it was my first games + loved the diamond & pearl season of pokeani growing up!! hence the Croagunk & Reuniclus ( I played White ). Armarouge is there bcs they’re ( loosely ) twisted from the Shield of Virtue + Ai said having a fire type would be useful for environment traversing

Skully -> well.. hes dead innit ( HAHHDHDJFKGK ) jokes aside!! Galarian Linoone bcs Leona calls him a badger throughout the event + the color scheme matches!! Pumpkaboo should be obvious but he has the supersize one. Dusknoir aside from being a ghost type, he has pokedex entries of being able to transport souls across dimensions & I think that just like the Lost in the Book plot, also Dusknoir was a twist villain in the Mystery Dungeon games & that was the role Skully had in tNBC ( kinda ). He’s got two Hisui Pokemon to symbolize he’s from a different era!! In my head he’s a spirit that hasn’t fully moved on + doesn’t realize he’s dead kinda, ish(?). He’s from a time where most ppl still thought Pokemon were all terrifying & dangerous + he was considered exceptional bcs he was one of the few trainers at the time with a full roster!!

also!! wanted to at least have some matching pokemon in the teams!! heartshackle/oysterjuice all have the 3 balls ( Pyukumuku, Pinchurchin & Snom ) but they are non-combatants, just matching companions HDHFJFBDJD. The alt sixth Pokemon they have in their teams are Mawile ( Ace ), Feraligatr ( Deuce ) , and Porygon-Z ( Yuu )

Skully and Yuulis have Gothitelle/Reuniclus bcs live laugh love also I was really trying to push which pokemon to match with Yuulis & the Gothitelle line had matching color schemes w Skully ehehehe

Junoace Pokemon teams because im rotting............ In my head Ace is a younger brother of a flying gym leader and would become one later in life.... And Juno would be a pokemon stylist/groomer (funny because most of his pokemon dont have fur like furfrou...)

Pigeon hybrid Ace x reader

Sometimes, you leave your window unlatched at night.

You have to, at this point. Even after you turn off all the lights in your apartment, lock the door, you leave that window open just a smidge. It’s right next to your bed, the glass plane scratched something awful. Marks stretching across the window, like a cat’s frenzied clawing.

You would get it replaced, but it’s too much of a pain to. After all, the culprit still comes every night, so you’ve given up trying to fix it. Instead, you’ve started leaving it open for your midnight guest….

Ok, maybe he’s more of a nuisance, but he does make your nights a little less dull.

The rattling of metal snaps you right out of your thoughts. A chaotic, wild sort of rattle, a chorus of disharmony. As if something was trying to shake your whole window frame loose.

Sighing to yourself, you trudge over wearily. Only to come face to face with those crimson eyes you’ve grown ever so familiar with. A red heart was drawn over one of his eyes, now crinkled with the way he was squinting at you. His scarlet hair was tousled by the wind, settling on his head like a fluffy cloud.

Where his arms should be… were feathered, fluffy wings. The sort of wings you would see on a pigeon, delicate artistic things, crafted specifically for flight. Flapping his wings frantically, he kicked at your window with his clawed foot, trying to prise it open fully. Waving him away, you heave your window open. Just wide enough for him to plop right into your house, falling face first onto your bedroom’s floor.

Raising an eyebrow at him, you toss him a towel.

“Do you have any idea what time it is, Mr Ace Trappola?”

Ace accepts the towel with a grunt, before he smoothers his face with it. Wiping off the sweat gleaming on his brow. He returns your frown with a raspberry, tongue darting out his lips playfully.

“Ah, don’t be like that. I knew you would let me in anyways.”

Despite your efforts to keep up your frown, your features soften. As much as he vexed you, you couldn’t really get mad at Ace. Slipping your hands under his wings, you heave him up to the best of your ability.

“So, deliver any letters today?”

Ace regards you with a smirk, smugness oozing right off him.

“A million letters. Heck, I’ve lost count!”

You jab an elbow into his ribs playfully.

“Liar.”

He shrugs, lips curling into a defeated smile. He leans on the doorframe in an attempt to be seductive, but with his messed up hair and trembling lips, Ace just looks like he was struggling not to burst into laughter.

“Hey, worth a shot. Just wanted ya to be impressed, y’know?”

You chuckle at his bravado before poking his chest.

“Why do you want me to be impressed, hm? Want me to fawn all over you?”

In an instant, Ace’s cheeks flare up. A bright pink, spreading across his face like wildfire. Looks like you hit the mark. Making exaggerated kissing sounds with your lips, you throw your arms around Ace despite his protests. You nuzzle right up against him, cooing about how he’s so cool, how he’s much a handsome little bird, how you love him so much-

Before Ace shakes you off, his face beet red. His feathers ruffle right up, as he flaps them aimlessly. You raise your arms, the ghost of a smile dancing across your lips as you watch flustered Ace bumble around. When he finally meets your eyes, you shoot him a sheepish grin.

Lower lip jutting out in a pout, Ace stretches out his wings towards you. Wrapping you up within his feathers, every single one as soft as the white fluffy clouds that drifted across a boundless blue sky.

The place where Ace felt so at peace.Up in the skies, far away from the ground, and all the stuffy masses. Where he was free to be whoever, hell, whatever he wanted to be.

Not a messaged pigeon, not a public nuisance, but just Ace. The Ace with wings, flying through the air as free as anyone could be.

But ever since he’s met you, Ace’s starting to feel… things. Weird things. His heart seems… warmer, whenever he sees you. He’s starting to come over to your house more and more often. He’s starting to seek you out more and more often as well.

The sky is still wonderful, but sometimes Ace wishes that you could see the same sights as he could. He wants to be with you, every hour, every second of the day. There’s something severely wrong with him, but by the great seven does he miss you whenever he heads off to deliver his letters.

Great Seven, you make him feel things he’s never felt before, y’know?

You’re starting to make him feel like maybe a home with you for him to return to isn’t too bad of an idea after all.
