throwing my hat in the ring and saying that my personal favorite reunion theory is a mirroring of ed & stede's first meeting, where Stede saves Ed's life/ends up in a situation where he is the caretaker

1. Satisfying narratively because role reversal/callback

2. Ed deserves to be taken care of and treated softly

3. He wakes up to Stede and isn't sure if Stede is really there (bonus angst if he heard about the fake death and thought he was dead + what if grieving Stede's "death" was the thing that caused him to be reckless enough to get injured/almost die?)

4. "We have to stop meeting like this"

5. Now is his very justified hurt and anger conflicted with relief & realizing all over again how much he loves Stede? And he cant run away from Stede because he is bedridden so What reaction does he let Stede see? There's a lot to unpack there, so multiple episodes of the angst we want without denying us the soft gay caretaking we also want

6. Great payoff for the journey Stede has been on of becoming more confident in who he is & capable of being who he wants to be

7. Stede is torn between "Ed you should rest" and "I know we need to talk"

8. Makes the conflict between Stede wants and what Ed needs even more pronounced

9. It's bittersweet because it's this huge gesture of love overshaowed by this huge hurt that hasn't been resolved

10. It's angst! It's hurt/comfort! It makes sense because their romance is already like if fanfic got a budget!

This show has always had an lot to say about truth vs obfuscation, especially where memory is concerned. Now we get to add dreams, both literal dreams and daydreams... Stede speaking for Ed when he dreams of their reunion on the beach and when he has a conversation with the poster in the Republic of Pirates. Ed creating a Stede doll out of the cake topper, and casting the brutal Captain Hornigold in what was Stede's role as his improv partner, then later imagining Stede as a merman. They're both still very much projecting their own (positive and negative) fantasies and expectations onto each other, and not really listening or observing or remembering the past fairly or objectively. We know already from trailer scenes that they are going to be off to a rocky start, and I think this dynamic will contribute to that.

After the first three eps of S2, Izzy is now positioned as the truth-teller, the guy who says things plainly while others (especially Ed), ignore/lie/pretend, even at the expense of his body parts or his life. This is new, no? In S1, he lied to Stede and Blackbeard about Blackbeard wanting to meet him, and he overstated both Ed's instability and his role in Blackbeard's crew... at the time. He seems to have unintentionally created the conditions he previously complained/bragged about.

Meanwhile Lucius, who was both the ship's recorder and therapist, and importantly, Izzy's digit-for-digit counterpart in S1, has actually learned to bottle things up! He's told some of his "Ratboy" story to Pete, but admits he has hidden a lot of it. I'm interested to see what turn Lucius's character takes and what they do with Lucius and Izzy symbolically from this point onward.

So. The Gundam Schwarzette.

I think at this point most people speculating about G Witch have agreed that this is a Jeturk Mobile Suit considering that it’s designed by the guy doing all the Jeturk Machines (Ippei Gyoubu) and it’s various visual throwbacks to the Dilanza and Daribalde. It’s still a pretty mysterious MS at this point, not being foreshadowed in the show or shown in the opening at all. I’ve seen speculation that the Schwarzette will be the MS Guel or Lauda or Felsi uses in a final duel against Suletta to secure their position as the Holder and save Jeturk from bankruptcy. This is certainly possible, but if the show does go that route I’d wonder how Jeturk would be able to produce this thing considering that they’re in pretty dire financial straits. If the Schwarzette is a true Gundam in G-Witch’s sense (i.e that it utilizes the GUND Format), I don’t know how feasible it is for them to have done R&D on this thing in time for an upcoming duel unless Peil or Gund Arm made the tech open source (unlikely on both fronts). So, here’s an idea. What if instead of challenging Suletta/Miorine to a duel, Guel instead signs away Jeturk Heavy Industries into becoming a subsidiary of Gund-Arm? That way instead of his family’s business simply going under, he can entrust it in the hands of someone he trusts at least partially (Suletta, or maybe even Miorine but frankly idk if he’s really had the time to radically change his opinion of Miorine). Plus if his experiences on Earth have given him some level of Earthian Sympathies, he might see it as a good move to sign off Jeturk to a very pro-Earthian company.

This way, rather than the Schwarzette being a Jeturk only production early into S2, it can be an MS assembled later by the combined might of Gund Arm and Jeturk engineers (perhaps on Prospera’s request? Considering Shin Sei is iirc also a Gund Arm subsidiary atm).

what is something you'd like to see in season two, but think isn't likely to happen

I make jokes nonstop about Armand going around saying shit like he the best step father in the world for Louis and Daniel clout while not giving a shit about her and psychically beaming "kys" into her brain every five seconds

BUT... that being said my wild ass wish would him genuinely having some sort of caring feelings towards Claudia, him telling her "kys" at least at first as a legit like "you are too fucking young, I was too young when I got turned and my immortality is agony and yours is gonna be so much worse ending it now would be a mercy"... I could see an interesting sort of contrast between us seeing Lestat in S1 being mostly antagonistic towards Claudia vs Armand being nicer to her but in the end he still chooses to kill her.

Unfortunately proving his point to an extent but not necessarily because of who she is-- but because of the circumstances she's boxed into through her identity constantly being tethered to Louis'. She has never been allowed the opportunity to be Claudia without the du lac or de lioncourt slapped on the end of there. She was brought into vampirism tied to Louis and unfortunately it leads to her end... I also think Armand having genuine remorse for killing Claudia and Louis having seen him like her would also give Louis more reason to want to stick around with him to this extent

I have a lot of Thoughts about what might happen in s2 but the prediction that I am most sure of is that at least one new ship will become canon. If I had to pick a specific one it'd be room people. (Or Anne Bonny/Mary Read but that one's a given, if they appear.)

We see him getting out of the water in the trailer, presumably because he’s the one who fell off the boat in the storm and other people have already said that this could be a turning point as the water washes away the make-up so it’s a metaphorical rebirth and then he walks out of the ocean onto a beach during said rebirth therefore edward teach really is (re)born on a beach after the kraken persona is killed during the storm

honestly, i think it's extremely unlikely for anyone except maybe soyona to show up. which is a shame because they're doing a plot with SO much overlap without the restrictive island setting anymore. for example:

darius and the dearing/grady family both live and work in northern california. owen directly works for the same department as darius did in the dpw. there's an extremely high chance they were coworkers

claire, zia, and franklin are also doing the exact same thing as brooklyn. claire in particular takes it to the next level. she and brooklyn likely run in the same circles. brooklyn investigated the lockwood manor crisis which claire was directly part of. it would be extremely weird and bad journalism if she never had any contact with claire. and when you think about how they both run in the same eco terrorist circles, wouldn't it be weird that they don't have some kind of social overlap??

kayla is the person who smuggles the dinosaurs the dpw is selling. if they're following clues about where these dinosaurs are heading, then they're going to run into her name somewhere because she's deeply involved with the big guys at biosyn and in the black market. she was involved in smuggling dinosaurs off the islands according to extended universe lore, too. she's not the only smuggler, but she did some pretty notable smuggling operations.

The way Louis makes it a point of reffering to Claudia as sister, constantly delineating the lines of their relationship within the boundaries of those of siblings, personally reaffirms it by referring to himself as her brother, and yet, in the privacy of his own home and his own mind, refers to her as his daughter. And not just that. His and Lestat's daughter. His daughter. Not sister, daughter. Our daughter. So that's that.

You think the SAL will decide to make Suletta into a scapegoat regarding her mother’s crimes? Since they couldn’t stop Lady Prospera personally, it does seem like they may want to do something to save face. Not to mention those Peil snakes were watching Suletta and Miorine’s group with interest alongside some key members of SAL, including the one that gave a rather self-righteous speech in Episode 21.

After failing to do anything about Lady Prospera, they’re probably witnessing this young seventeen year-old girl do more damage than they ever could. However, this girl also happens to be a clone that Lady Prospera used as a tool for years to make her revenge possible. Guston is aware of this, and if his knowledge was reported to his superiors, I can only imagine they wouldn’t want to let it slide.

hadn't thought about that. Maybe. They were definitely already planning on blaming the Benerit Group for Quiet Zero (which is, to be fair to them, kinda their fault) and Suletta as the groom and girlfriend of Miorine Rembran would probably be associated with the BG anyway.

So I've been thinking a lot about Muriel. About how they're sweet and naive and sort of dumb, and they're a 37th class angel.

In fact, Muriel’s level of naivety is nearly the same as Jim-level naivety/dumbness. And Jim was supposed to be a 38th class angel, after being demoted from Supreme Archangel and having his memories removed.

And when this was revealed Muriel says 'I didn't know there was a class below me', what if Muriel is just a demoted angel? What if Heaven just keeps demoting any angel who goes against God’s (the Metatron’s) Plan and making a new, lower class for them? Instead of making them fall, they just keep taking memories and demoting angels so that there wont be a perceived ‘institutional problem’. Which there isn’t. Right?

If I recall correctly they said they're not changing much with Madeline so I'm assuming there will be some motherly element put in there with her (whether objectively or through Louis' specific perception of events) and if I'm correct there I think not only is he gonna get jealous of her its gonna be a turning point in denying Claudia her role of sister and putting her back into the daughter box that he seems to have in Dubai rn.
