the moment you and mitsui/miyagi became a thing he just became the cockiest person in the world . like, genuinely . it was really cute and endearing at first but eventually everyone's just pissed at him t-t

even more so when he's at practice ... all of a sudden he's extra energetic and his form is beyond perfect (not that akagi's complaining; if you get them to play well then that's all for the better)

he knows that you like to draw —its even one of the reason why he likes you so much ! — and the moment he found out that you drew him during his practices ... oh my god, ego to the roof !! /pos

mitsui flashes you a devilish grin, his eyes gazing upon the quick sketches you've made of his form. "i look great," he states. he winks as he walks back towards the ring, aiming for a three-pointer. "make sure to get my good side, yeah?"

look, mitsui's all cocky and arrogant when he's in front of the others (much to their chagrin), but in private — that's a whole different story . he's consistently sending kogure and akagi photos of your art, pretty much showing them off !!

and he makes sure to thank you for all of your efforts ; he'll buy you all the art supplies you want ! (and he'll try to draw you as well, but he's not the best at it ... )

miyagi is speechless when you show him your sketchbook. across the pages are drawings of him, each pose dynamic and vivacious. he could practically feel the energy radiating from your sketches. "this is amazing," he murmurs, heart-eyed. he looks up at you. "you're amazing."

much like mitsui, he'll show your art off — but he'll show it off to everyone. the basketball team, ayako, his classmates, his family- you name it !

akira sendoh . . .

"woahh!" sendoh exclaims, his eyes alight with glee when you show him your sketchbook. he takes it in his hands, holding it as if it was the most precious thing to exist. he traces the outline of his sketched-out form with a delicate finger, his grin spreading ear-to-ear. he looks at you with crinkled eyes, his smile as bright and warm as summer sun. "these are really good ! maybe you should teach me how to draw !"

sendoh is all smiles when he saw your drawings of him . he can't help it ! believe it or not, he's seen fanart of himself alongside the countless fanmail he's received, but never before has he had someone draw him so ..

he can't describe it, really . but all he knows is that it's the best art he's ever seen ! your art was warm, each pencil stroke filled with love and care, your affection for him reflected tenderly in the careful way you drew his features.

like with mitsui and miyagi, he'll gladly show off your art to the basketball team ! and before you know it, you'll have a line of the team members asking for you to draw them as well .

shinichi maki . . .

maki stares at the compilation of sketches in his hand. admittedly, he had felt a bit downhearted when he saw that you've been drawing during their practices, feeling as if you haven't been paying him attention, but he couldn't have been more wrong. he caresses the paper with a gentle hand, then pulls you in for an embrace. "thank you, my darling," he murmurs, his breath warm against your ear. "these are wonderful."

a gentleman through and through, maki makes sure to show his affections after receiving such a gift (even if you didn't mean it to be a gift in the first place) .

he starts giving back, taking you out on art dates and offering to buy you any art supply you want . even if you ask for just a simple pencil, he'll ensure that you get only the best quality !

unlike the other three, he'd want to keep your art of him for his eyes only . not that he's not proud of it or anything, but he just prefers for your art of him to be seen by only him ... not that it works (kiyota would find a way to snatch them from him when he's not working lmao)

haruko strikes me as someone who likes to scrapbook, if that even makes sense ?? like, she likes to cut and paste stuff she thinks is interesting and put them in a notebook dedicated to such things, and even write little annotations on the sides !

and because of that i think she'll like brush pens and pastel-colored highlighters !! she'd love some stickers too, and prints that she can rip up and arrange in her own special way ; shes so cute ilhsm

First off, thank your best friend (eghem Haruko). Why? She loves Rukawa.

'Why does it matter?' - You may ask. She forced you to go to the basketball practice with you. And that's where you saw him.

He was intrigued by you from the first second he saw you, but he didn't really do anything with this fact at first.

After a few weeks, though, he asked Haruko about you, and she freaked out. She spilled the tea on you immediately.

The next practice you went on with her, she made the two of you talk with each other alone.

At first, it was kind of awkward, but you quickly got along with each other.

This man is the definition of an older brother's best friend, okay? You may not have a brother, though. You just have his best friend as a boyfriend now. You're welcome. Good luck.

TBH, he is kind of like a big brother sometimes and jokes like one most of the time.

He's possessive, but in his own weird way, because he's also really confident in himself.

He'll see you talking to any boy. He'll go over to you, put his hand in your pants's back pocket, grab your buttocks firmly, and just smile at the guy. His aura is just unbearable.

He's such a tease, too. No filter, man; I will tease you everywhere.

I arrived at school earlier than usual to help prepare for the upcoming festival, as I’m part of the Voluntary Club. As I walked toward the building, I noticed a familiar figure locking his bike along the way.

So he's riding his bike to school? I see. I mean based on my research, biking can help one's mind relax.

Without realizing it, I was looking in his direction as I walked, which caused me to trip over a large rock in my path.

"Shit. That hurts." The fall left a scratch on my right hand and knee. 

"Are you okay?" 

I lifted my head to see who was speaking, but the sun blinded me. Just then, the person in front of me moved to shield my eyes from the light. He reached my elbow to help me to stand. He slightly wiped the dirt on my arm as well. 

"You should wash your hand; they’re pretty grimy. Jaa" He said and left.

What the... I can't move. I can't talk. You touched your heart. It's fast. My heart is beating so fast. What's.. happening to me?

I walked with a limp to our open sink and washed my arms and knee.

"Ouch" There's a small cut on my right hand and bruise found on my knee. It was a bad fall. Great!  As i rolled my eyes because of my stupidity. 

As I finished washing my hands, I made my way directly to our club room, then headed out to the open area of the school where we were set to construct the stage. We began cutting the materials needed for decoration and transporting items back and forth. It was challenging for me to use my hands due to my wound, and I felt a sharp pain with every movement. I couldn't visit the clinic because it’s still closed, and even if it were open, I wouldn't want to keep my fellow club members waiting for me. 

kuso. I don't even have a band aid to put. I thought as I forced my hand to work despite the pain.

"Alright, everyone, that's it for this morning! If you have some extra time later, feel free to return and continue where we left off. Now, let’s get ready for our classes," the club president announced.

I returned to the open sink to wash my hands after our morning task, intending to visit the clinic to request a band-aid. Just as I began to walk away, someone approached me, offering one already. 

"Here" rukawa said blocking my way.

“T-thanks” as I reached his offered band aid.

He was about to leave when I spoke.

“U-um. My name is L/N Y/N.”

HUH? Did I…. introduced my self?!?!

“I know” he replied, not slowing his pace.

Surprise washed over my face as he brushed past me.

He knows me? How is that even possible? 

I glanced back, watching as he faded into the distance. My mind was racing. It felt surreal. I somehow perceived him as someone out of reach, a mysterious figure who existed in the background of my life. Yet, here he was, offering me a band-aid like it was the most natural thing in the world. 

Shaking my head as I pressed the band-aid against my cut. The slight sting faded, but the butterflies in my stomach remained.

Nothing much happened today: I helped the club prepare for the upcoming festival, attended my classes, ate lunch, attended the remaining classes, and went home. It's a routine, nothing new. 

But little did I know that becoming interested in something could disrupt my usual pattern.

I saw Airi smiling playfully at me.

Sigh. She’s going to ask me for something again.

“What is it this time?” I squinted my eyes at her.

“Let’s... take a peek at the basketball team’s practice.” She gave me a persistent blink.

“No, let’s go home early!” I replied, walking past her. I could hear her deep sigh and the sound of her stomping her feet in protest. I couldn’t help but smile secretly, finding her cute; she reminded me of a child whose mother wouldn’t buy her the toy she wanted. She clung to my arms.

"C’mon, my pretty Y/N! I’m so exhausted; I need some energy! And at the same time, it's been 3 days since the last time we watched their game"

"And your energy comes from the basketball team? Damn, you're weird!"

"I mean, who wouldn’t? Just look at those tall guys! Their sweat glistening on bulging biceps, strong physiques, and those deep voices—GIRL, I can’t help but love men!" she answered me as if like she's being electrified. 

I just looked at her with my "really" face. I listen, I don't judge.

Right. It’s been three days since my brief interaction with Rukawa, and I’m still puzzled about how he knew my name. And of course, as usual, Airi used her usual tactic of treating me to coffee right after dragging me to the gym.

After the qualifying round in Kanagawa, where two teams will advance to Inter-High, the gym is always filled with enthusiastic supporters watching the teams improve. As expected, Rukawa's fans are also present. 

For the sake of the coffee, that I cannot resist,found myself seated in the gym. I used this time to review my notes while Airi is admiring the view of the players.

The wind seeps through the cracks in the gym, sending your hair cascading across your face as you study your notes. You tuck a strand behind your ear as you flipped the next page of the book. 

You looked peaceful having your personal time sitting on the bench. Rukawa is not that blind not to notice you on the bench. He is giving you glance if have a chance. 

She seems uninterested. Rukawa thought to himself as he glanced at you while taking control of the game. He intensified his dribbling, maneuvering past his guard, which forced another opponent to cover him. Rukawa swiftly sidestepped this defender too. Now facing Akagi, the tallest player and team captain, he lunged for a dunk. Akagi leaped to block him, but Rukawa skillfully pulled back on his first attempt to evade the towering defender. With a surge of determination, he extended his arms again for a successful double-clutch dunk. 

"AHHH RUKAWA RUKAWA LOVE ME, LOVE ME, LOVE ME RUKAWA!"

Andddd finally it's time for some headcanons! I am recently re-watching Slam Dunk since it's one of my most favorite anime series. Enjoy! ✨

(part 1)

Hanamichi Sakuragi:

Our beloved troublemaker is more than he seems. Although he is known for his short temper, Hanamichi is far more sensitive than most people think. He deeply cares about his teammates, even a little bit for Rukawa, and for his friends. Honestly, he loves hanging out with his silly friends, they make him happy and always encourage him in their own way to continue being himself and achieve his goals.

He is willing to do anything he can in order to make his loved ones happy and sometimes even those he considers as rivals. From time to time he calls Oda to find out how he's going and to talk for a bit, he won't admit that to anyone of course, apart from Mito who is his most trustworthy friend.

Hanamichi is actually really shy, especially when it comes to girls. What if he says something wrong and upset them? What if Rukawa's crazy fangirls start yelling at him again? He wouldn't want that all. In general he is just an angry cinnamon roll that deserves all the love in the world.

Kaede Rukawa:

Incredible, fantastic, unique, popular, handsome. Those are some of the words his fangirls would use to describe the #11 of the basketball team. He never seems to care though. Kaede has no time for relationships and falling in love, his biggest passion is basketball (and maybe sleeping). It's not that he will say no to someone who will really care about him and support him but he isn't in the mood for all that doki doki stuff.

As he has mentioned many times, he loves sleeping. It's not hard for him to fall asleep in class, while he drives his bike early in the morning or while taking the bus/train. He has actually missed his destination because of that a few times. Apart from that he is someone who works hard and wants to make his dreams come true. Underneath the expressionless look on his face hides a very competitive and emotional person.

When he has free time, he usually sleeps or listens to music. It helps him relax and take his mind off practice for a little bit. He enjoys staying home and watch a movie or take his bike and go for a ride when the neighborhood gets quiet. Kaede is actually a very sweet person who has priorities.

Hisashi Mitsui:

A gangster. Another troublemaker. A brokenhearted person. Always an excellent basketball player. Hisashi has always been on my favorite characters because what he went through was very realistic and painful. He gave up something he loved because he got hurt while trying to prove his worth but never stopped loving it. That's our sweet boy. Even though he tries to act cool, Hisashi is an awkward young man. He is very shy deep down.

Also with Miyagi and Hanamichi they like to pull pranks on Rukawa, which leave him completely unbothered. Hisashi actually likes reading books and sports magazines. He tries to be the best he can so reading about other people's achievements inspire him to achieve his goal. Sometimes he looks himself in the mirror and smiles because his front teeth are fake and he's worried someone may notice.

He is someone who would easily fall asleep while watching a movie or reading a book. Compliments actually make him blush, although he likes being encouraged and feels confident when people praise him, it's only inside the court. If someone makes a compliment, he feel really awkward and blush. He is simply a person who needs love and affection.

Miyagi Ryota:

What can be said about this sweet short king? He is someone who enjoys the feeling of being appreciated and taken care of. He likes having someone who will encourage him and feels really proud when his teammates and friends tell him he's doing an excellent job.

Miyagi actually feels uncomfortable about his height, he would love to be tall like Sakuragi or Rukawa. Maybe girls would find him more attractive him then. When he has free time, he spends it pulling pranks on Mitsui. The look on his face is priceless every time. Other times he will go for shopping with Ayako, he enjoys spending time with her and discuss with her about his hopes and dreams.

Miyagi isn't afraid to get into a fight, if his friends need help, he is the first to step in. He is actually pretty skilled and quick so he has a big chance of winning. He someone who takes his time while taking a bath. The warm water makes him relax and enjoy the moment. All he needs is attention and love.

He'd be the most likely to start one, but is the least likely to actually win one. That's all you need to know.

I can imagine the Shohoku basketball team sitting down to watch a movie at someone's house and Sakuragi just .. throwing a pillow at someone out of nowhere.

(Someone being a certain ace player named Kaede Rukawa-)

He'd start the messiest and most chaotic pillow fight of the century and yet he's the one who gets whacked the most. (╥﹏╥)

He'd also get sick of getting whacked after awhile and will absolutely headbutt anyone who tries to do so again -

^^ It failed and he still gets walloped over the head anyways -

If Haruko were to be present, Sakuragi would fight tooth and nail to ensure that she doesn't get hit by anyone ... not that anyone would want to hit Haruko anyways .. (insert Akagi side-eyeing anyone who even dares to do so)

Ryota Miyagi ⚡

He'd side first with Sakuragi and would join in just for shits and giggles, but after a while he'd turn on Sakuragi and just go crazy with it.

Eventually he'd start to go after everyone and anyone. Except maybe Haruko because y'know. Akagi's scary when he's pissed.

Same as with Sakuragi, if Ayako were to be there he'd try to protect her from getting clobbered, but if anything Ayako would be the one clobbering him --

Somehow it's pretty hard to get a hit on him because he's running and jumping from place to place like lightning (winkwink)

And honestly, Ryota wouldn't let anyone hit him except for Ayako LMAO

He'd be sleeping when the Great Pillow War commenced, but after being waken up with a couple of whacks by a certain hot-tempered redhead delinquent .. oh boy.

Rukawa is sitting straight up, glaring daggers at Sakuragi and clenching the pillow as hard as he can.

Tunnel vision on Sakuragi. Rukawa's seeing red and he's making a beeline for the so-called genius and no one is stopping him .

I imagine that someone else would be smacking him with a pillow and he just waves them away like a fly and just keeps on attacking Sakuragi (╥﹏╥)

Hisashi Mitsui 🦷

He'd get really pissy at first but when he decides to retaliate, he does it hard .

Like, I'm talking "cackling as he repeatedly smashes his pillow onto Kogure's head" type of hard. Either that or he turns on all the other members and just starts attacking everyone within a ten-mile radius.

Being the mediator of the team, he'd step in and try to break everyone apart before injuries start happening ,,

The one who actually stops the fight . Well, for like a split-second, anyways.

Then Sakuragi's stray pillow hits him full in the face and the next thing everyone knows the Great Pillow War has recommenced with the ferocity and the chaos magnified tenfold !!

Sendoh would be the type to post very sporadically. Either he posts multiple times in ome day or he goes months without posting. No inbetweens.

His posts would be a mix of pretty scenic places he visits and then tiktok dances with people from other teams. He’d just ask them if they wanted to make a tiktok with him 😭 especially Sakuragi lmfaoo. He would ask Rukawa to make a video with him too BUT HE’D ALWAYS REFUSE. I see him making videos with Maki often too

I don’t see him being on Tiktok very often (or even social media in general) but I think the kind of posts he would like/repost would be videos of pretty places, things to do different places, funny cat videos, and then an occasional basketball video. He’d would NOT be the type to be thirsty on social media 💀 like he’d see a pretty girl on his fyp, briefly acknowledge shes pretty, and then scroll.

Maki would be the guy who doesn’t post often but when he does, it’s high quality basketball clips or training montages that look straight out of an ad for a sports brand LMFAOOO. His captions would be something simple like, “Keep grinding.” 😂

He doesn’t care about clout but his account would blow up anyways because people would thirst over him in the comments like, “Idk who this is, but I’m in love.” OR THEYD CALL HIM DADDY OR SOME CRAZY SHIT LIKE THAT

His FYP would be full of basketball drills, motivational videos, and maybe the occasional travel TikTok. He’d like the cool scenic ones and might even recreate them when he goes on trips with the team.

I don’t see him thirsting over girls on Tiktok but he might follow a pretty girl back occasionally. And they’d be swooning so bad omg 😭

Kiyota would tag him in videos trying to get a reaction, but Maki would just leave him on read 💀💀💀

I think Ayako would just post every now and then. After countless requests she’d do a hair tutorial 😭😭😭 I also see her doing an outfit of the day, day in the life type of posts

She would definitely post a couple videos of her with the team and the girls would think she’s so cool and such a bad bitch 😂 they’d comment things like “Can Miyagi fight?” So now Ryota has competition from guys AND girls LMFAOOO

You fixed your things and walked towards the gym. You can already hear the big voices inside the court, the sounds of bouncing basketballs and sneakers squeaking against the polished floor filled the air and... cheer? It's already late to have other people in the gym aside from the players.

When you both entered the gym, the team is having a practice game.

"AHHHH RUKAWA, RUKAWA, L.O.V.E RUKAWA"  that is when Rukawa did a successful 3 points. 

"Sugoi! And that's, indeed, the ace of the team Y/N!" Airi 

As you both settled into your seats within the gym while your gaze remained fixed on the court, captivated by the ongoing game, but it was the boy at the center of it all—his expression as blank as a canvas—that held your attention. You couldn't tear your eyes away from him, intrigued by the stark contrast between the excitement around him and his unyielding demeanor.

I can't. How can you do that? How can you hide all of it? You frowned.

They are now running back to the other side of the court when your eyes meet, again.

And as expected, you’re surprised, but... this time you tried to keep your eyes locked on him until he needs to look back at the court.

You and Airi continued chatting inside the café and then decided to go home.

It’s nice to have moments like this. They help me forget the weight of my responsibilities—as a person, a student, and a daughter.
