Nobunaga Kiyota

Nobunaga only teases you if you're friends. If you're childhood friend, teasing is the basis of your comunication;

Nobunaga can be such annoying as a young brother, and he'd become even worse if he starts falling in love with you;

He starts to make you mad by teasing you as a defense mechanism, like he's trying to prove to himself that you're not the type of girl he would fall for. "See how horrible she is when she's mad? How would I ever fall for a girl like her? I like the cute ones that are gentle and calm!"

Only teases you because he's madly in love with you and cannot think of a better way to call your attention because he thinks you're too much for him;

• One thing about Kiyota; he is gonna be FUN to be around. I think regardless of if you’re a friend, his love interest, acquaintance, or even just an acquaintance, you’d get sucked in by him.

• In terms of academics.. that boy definitely got into Kainan on a sports scholarship 😂. Although I’d say he’s a better student than Sakuragi, I do not think he’s a good student.

• He’d lowkey be the type to ask to go to the bathroom during class and then wander around the halls for like 15 minutes. If he saw anyone he knew also in the halls, he’d walk around with them.

• I feel like he’s the type to have a large friendgroup? But he’d only have like 3-5 fr close friends. If you’re a close friend though, HE’D DEF VALUE IT. Yall would be hanging out 24/7, he’d be a great texter, EVERYTHING. Kiyota is the type of dude that communicates his feelings very well, so there’d be no drama or misunderstandings

• If he saw a pretty girl, I feel like he’d tell everyone BUT the girl. Like mf would be going around to Jin talking some “Bro the girl in my class is so pretty”, but if he got told to just talk to her, he’d make a ton of dumb excuses. HOWEVER he would have the courage to eventually approach her and try to impress her.

• He’d think he’s amazing with the ladies… but not really 💀. I think he is really funny but he would overdo it with a girl since he’s desperate to make her laugh. And it may end up just bothering her.

• But he’d really make an effort for any girl he liked!!! Handwritten letters, candlelit dinners that he made himself, and he’d never stop complimenting you. I feel like he’s a romantic person at heart and he’d want a hs girlfriend

• As messy and chaotic as he is, lowkey he’d be great at cooking. Although he’d leave the kitchen and sink a MESS, whatever he makes is gonna be GOOD! He’d be the type to share food he made with his friends at lunch (reluctantly)

Maki knows how to play the piano, but is now pretty rusty. He stopped learning after getting in middle school.

Nobunaga Kiyota:

When we think about Nobu the image of Hanamichi goes to our minds, those two look so similar but are completely different. There a lof times that Kiyota feels stressed about playing basketball. Being in the Kainan basketball team sure means you're more than skilled but requires a lot of mental strength as well. Although he is indeed a super rookie, Kiyota has second thoughts about how good he truly is making him lack self-esteem so he tries bragging about himself in order to feel better.

Nobunaga is someone fun to have around although he gets kinda whiny when tired. He likes going on an adventure and his enthusiasm is as big as a little kid's. He doesn't get tired easily but when he does it means he can't give more and has to rest. He is very energetic and loves playing basketball during the summer afternoons.

Deep down he believes Rukawa has some kind of secret for playing that good and tries to figure it out. He doesn't like it at all when Maki yells at him because he looks up to him and wishes to become the next captain. In general Nobunaga is someone who needs encouragement and love.

Shinichi Maki:

The incredible captain of the Kainan team. He is the person every other player is jealous of. But not only because of his skills of course. You see, Maki is really good with girls as well. He is very well mannered and has his way with words, knowing exactly what to say every time he approaches a girl.

He doesn't like it when people are in a rush, no one achieved anything by being hasty. Good things take time and effort to happen and he knows that. Maki is pretty romantic and Kiyota usually makes fun of him for that. He likes taking things slow and enjoys learning more about the person he is interested in.

When he has free time he likes reading and writing as well. He isn't going to share it with anyone, he simply does it for fun but he is actually an excellent writer. Also, his hair becomes a mess every time he sleeps. It takes a lot of time to make it look good so he usually wakes 30 minutes earlier than someone else would in order to get ready. Maki is definitely a sweet person, he just needs his time.

Shoichiro Jin:

Prettiest boy ever, I love him. Jin always had some trouble feeling accepted in sports, especially in basketball. Because he is someone very well mannered just like Maki, and someone who takes care of his appearance people though he probably wouldn't make it. He proved them wrong in so many ways.

He and Kiyota are close, they are really good friends. They basketball together on their free time or watch movies. Jin loves movies with plot twists, movies that keep you intrigued from the start until the end. He is also interested in fashion. He and Maki sometimes go shopping together. They have a similar taste.

Even though he always smiles and is very polite, he is actually competitive and can act tough at times. He tries his best to get along with everyone and supports his teammates. Shoichiro is someone really fun to hang out with and can give you a useful piece of advice.

Kazuma Takasago:

Probably Akagi number two. Only in appearance though. Takasago differs from every one of his teammates. Unlike Kiyota, he is really quiet and doesn't like raising his voice much. Even when he is excited or enthusiastic about something.

He spends his free time reading sports magazines while listening to music. He isn't the type of person that likes going outside much, he prefers staying home.

He tries his best to prove he deserves playing in the Kainan basketball team. He really appreciates his teammates and looks up to them. I would say he is a kind but really anxious person that needs encouragement.

It's not that easy to imagine him being pissed with a girl, but it's possible an enemies to lovers dynamic.

Miyagi has a strong temper, so a girl with strong temper that for some reason, dislikes him at first and let this clear to him would be the perfect pairing for this plot;

Fukuda Kicchou

I think Fukuda would be perfect with childhood friends to lovers

Fukuda has a strong temper and probably girls are kindda afraid of him at school. So it's hard for him to make friends with girls.

As we see, Fukuda likes to be praised, and probably has a lot of insecurities due to the fact that he's criticized a lot by Taoka and easily loses his temper.

So imagine a girl that knows him for a long time, knows every single insecurity he has, knows his traumas, his soul, his wounds. She'd know exactly how to talk to him in a way he really listens to.

Probably she would be the only girl that make him really feel safe and sheltered.

Well, actually it would be strangers to lovers because Hanagata seems hard to access. He's calm, centered, so hardly gets distracted from his noble goals;

So to call his attention, the girl would have to be an attractive mystery to him. Maybe he's find out she does something that he really appreciates or think it's beautiful (like playing a calm instrument or paint on canvas);

I think that he'd get to know her at school through Kenji. They from a comission for some big event and she helps them and he's so enchanted with her;

I strongly believe that Hanagata is as popular as Kenji among girls, but he's too shy and reserved to be as Kenji is with them. So he faces his shyness to start talking to her;

Fake dating with him would be super fun to develop too, but with a sunshine type girl, really talkative and impulsive;

Okay I haven’t made many posts with her included (which im gonna do 😂) but I LOVE Ayako

She’s very beautiful and i think in a way that’s unconventional compared to many mangas. Curly haired female characters are really uncommon in manga, so seeing a girl like ayako was really surprising. I think her features overall make her look really realistic. Like she looks morrocan or dominican, and the fact that she’s portrayed to be canonically beautiful makes it so that her features are portrayed in a positive light

Also she’s literally the backbone of the team? Part of why Miyagi stayed for hs basketball was because she encouraged the team so well. She’s been there since before the team was good, like how akagi and kogure were. And throughout the series, she gave the boys ALOT of support. Like girl was literally the one who taught Sakuragi the basics??

Sawakita is also very different from other sports manga rivals. I mean he gets made fun of by his own team, mf cries SM. He has fangirls and I think he treats them well (shown by how he wore a t shirt one of them gifted).

He’s not a bad person either, he even helped Rukawa up when he fell down. He was very encouraging towards his teammates too when he was benched. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS PARENTS?? He’s so respectful to them, boy was out there thanking them for everything when he was drunk on a plane. Plus from his backstory, i think it shows he really loves his dad. Some yall mfs could never LMAOOO

I think his dynamic with Rukawa and Sakuragi too. He was funny asl with Sakuragi. And I like that Sawakita was part of what pushed Rukawa to improving as a player (as well as Sendoh). ALL THAT AND HES GOOD LOOKING???

His appearance had a big glow up through the series too. People like rukawa were always drawn as good looking ecen in the beginning but sendoh was drawn to be ugly?? Like he did NOT look good. But towards the end of the series, dude was honestly stunning asl. Like he needs to put me on to whoever threaded his eyebrows

Honestly he seems like such a chill person to be friends with?? He seems so open minded, i fr cant see him as the type to judge anybody or treat anybody badly. I think at his school everyone likes him for how down to earth he is (and his looks LOLLL)

I don’t think Kiyota is a violent person, but he would be confrontational and go straight up to the dude. Kiyota would talk HELLA shit, calling the dude an ungrateful ass, and saying he had fatherless behavior 💀

He would go up to you while grabbing the guy, and describe what he saw him doing. Boy would go into DETAIL, and he’d threaten the dude if he tried denying.

Tbh I don’t think he would use it as an opportunity to get with you. He knows that pining after you when you’re hurt emotionally is a douche move, but I do think he would tell you something along the lines of “Don’t worry, there’s better guys out there, like yours truly,” in a joking way.

Mitsui

Okay, I think we all know that he would be hella mad seeing that. And boy isn’t gonna let that slide either

He had heard from you about your boyfriend and he knew that you really liked him, so seeing that same dude being unfaithful to the girl that he likes so much would set him off. I think he’d lowkey go back to his delinquent ways 💀

Mitsui would call at the dude like “hey you, come here” and give him a good punch in the face. He’d hit the dude some more and insult him too, bro would go off. But at some point he realizes that both you (and coach anzai) wouldn’t appreciate seeing him fight, so he stops himself from getting more violent.

He would yell at the dude and tell him to break up if he’s gonna hoe around. I think he would also go to you and mention what he saw. He wouldn’t be sure of how to comfort you but he’d try his best to say nice things and help you feel better

Sakuragi

If Mitsui is mad, then Sakuragi is PISSED. He would be like a ticking time bomb ready to go OFF.

He wouldn’t have any restraint, if he saw the dude his crush was with cheating on her, it’s on sight. He’s also pissed seeing how the guy his crush is into being a total douche. I think he’d be thinking of how much better he is and that he’d never be so disloyal to a girl.

Sakuragi would go BOLTING to that dude the instant he saw the cheating. He would headbutt that dude and continue whopping him. He wouldn’t show any self restraint and I think he would continue until there was an outside force stopping him (like his crush or his friends).

He would 100% take the chance to win the girl. Sakuragi would tell her how that guy was shitty and that she has way better options. I think he would show himself off and talk about all his qualities, but, he also knows that his crush isn’t in a good spot mentally and I think he would try to comfort (even if he’s not sure what to do or say).

Sendoh is a pretty open minded guy, he doesn’t have a set standard for what he wants in a girl. I don’t think he would have a preferred type of girl.

I think a girl who’s more of a tomboy is a good thing for him tbh. He always fishes and having a girl who isn’t willing to do things like that with him wouldn’t really work out.

Sendoh wouldn’t be bothered about it at all, he’d still compliment your looks and dote on you. To him it wouldn’t make you any less of a girl

WOULD DEFINITELY GIVE YOU HIS SHIRTS AND SWEATS. He kinda picked up on what you like to wear and he figured that it’d make you happy wearing something loose fitting and more masculine. I think he’d have alot of fun slipping on his really baggy shirts on you <3

Kiyota

Tbh I think his main type is a girly girl, BUT, that doesn’t stop him from liking a girl with a different vibe than he’s used to.

Kiyota is definitely open minded about it too, like a pretty girl is still a pretty girl to him regardless. And he’d hype you up the same way too. He’d brag about you like CRAZY to his homies too, saying stuff like “my girl so fine”

It’d be good for dates too, since he strikes me as the type to want to do “crazy” activities, like rock climbing or skating. I don’t think he’d be good on dates where you have to stay still (like a cafe date or watching a movie)

In Japan, it’s incredibly uncommon to drive. Many opt for public transport and walking due to the city planning of Japanese cities, and the well functioning metro system. Because of this, it’s uncommon for families, let alone teens, to be owning cars.

Gas is also expensive so I think this speaks to Maki’s wealth.

Imagine him pulling up to school and parking his car 💀, it would definitely get him alot of attention.

Kiyota would see that and he would cause a FUSS, boy would be asking questions to the point where Maki whops him for being annoying.

Kiyota would bring it up again in practice (saying things along the line of “Have you guys seen Maki’s car??”) and it’d lead to the team talking about it.

The guys would end up wanting to go on a ride with Maki (mostly Kiyota’s suggestion LMAO), and they’d try talking Maki into it

After much hesitation, he’d eventually oblige and the team would go for short drives every now and then.

Maki and Jin would definitely be in the passenger’s seat, while everyone else is shoved in the back. They’d all be squashed in there and Kiyota would COMPLAIN

They’d leave a mess in this car (mostly Kiyota LOL) and it’d be up to Maki to get it cleaned up. He would never let Kiyota in his car ever again.
