idc im 5 years late to this party. Sasha’s letter 1800 years later is devastating. I got to “Azu is my best locksmith” and had to pause.
You all speak Latin in my dreams now

first re-listen of rqg156 and it still hits 🥲 as soon as wilde started pouring drinks i was in tears. helen’s reaction in the bloopers is still also mine.
i had forgotten about the zolf monologue so that also jumped right out at me even as i thought i was going in prepared. both of my heart characters really obliterating me in one go it’s fine everything is fine.

I’ve relisten to rqg 156 for the first time since my inti listen three years ago. I’m crying and I don’t know if I did that the first time. I think the more I hear the letter, the more emotional it will be, as the I will have spent more and more time with the characters.

I know Ben never specifically says but I swear to Hope that in 156 when Zolf is talking to Azu about trying to change and Sasha not being there and being so filled with hope he's magic, Zolf is crying. Ben doesn't say it but you can fucking hear it in his voice. At that moment Zolf is crying. You cannot tell me otherwise.

So there are obviously MANY differences between TMA and RQG because theyre fundamentally different shows but one of the big ones is that while TMA is a funny show, moments of drama are played fairly straight, and it's only later, in the fandom response, that absolutely everything becomes a joke.
With RQG, the peanut gallery is actually in the recording room, which means we get some lovely tonal whiplash moments like "I'm grief-filled, you're grief-skilled" in the podcast itself.
