#rp: leaving my past behind

Nothing can truly show you the reality of what's happening in Gaza, not a picture, not a video, and not even words. The truth is far worse than anything an image can capture. Families are not just enduring genocide, they’re being erased. Their history, their homes, their existence, wiped away like they were never there.
What’s left behind? Bits and pieces. Fragments. A scrap of fabric here, a shattered memory there. People are still trapped beneath the rubble. Some are alive, their voices weak but desperate, pleading for help that will never come. There’s no rescue equipment. No teams to save them. And anyone brave enough to try is met with drones, striking down anyone who gets close.
Those who’ve managed to survive aren’t just hungry, they’re freezing. Imagine huddling in a makeshift tent, shaking not just from fear but from the biting cold that seeps into your bones. The wind tears through everything, ripping apart whatever tiny bit of warmth you’ve managed to cling to. Inside the tent, there’s no comfort. Only the sound of bodies rustling as they try to stay warm, muffled cries of grief, and the haunting sound of people buried beneath the rubble, their faint cries for help echoing in the dark.
The cold doesn’t care. It doesn’t spare anyone—not children, not parents, not the elderly. It sinks into everyone, leaving them numb, both physically and emotionally. Hunger takes what little strength they have left, and the cold takes their hope. This isn’t some tragic story from the past—it’s happening right now. These are my people. This is my family.
A single line can hold the weight of an entire story, and a single choice can save a life. What if you skipped that extra coffee, brush pack, or subscription and put that money toward rescuing lives in Gaza ? One small sacrifice from you could provide food, warmth, or even survival to my family who’ve lost everything.
You might wonder, “Does it really matter? Can I make a difference?” The answer is yes. Every dollar you give is a line of hope, a stand against the darkness. Don’t let this story fade. Don’t let Gaza disappear into silence.
Please help us and donate now if you can, and reblog this post to spread our story.

Rui x Reader who is really affectionate, but can't touch him because of The Curse.
A/N: I'm alive!! Rui my beautiful beautiful tragic boy. I've actually been having a lot of brainrot for this game, particularly an isekai AU that made me contemplate making RP blog (I love you guys btw. This is probably my first fandom where they're so active, I've been really well connected with this fandom somehow and it's so fun!!), so I figured I might as well be writing it down now. This is an idea I've had spinning in my head for a while, so it's VERY self-indulgent/insert, but enjoy!! AO3 link here
Rui's POV. Second-person pronoun "You" is used. Angst! But also fluff!! (825 words)
You’ve always been an affectionate little thing. It’s something Rui finds adorable about you, staying optimistic despite all that looms over you, not letting any of the ghouls he KNOWS can be more than a little much sometimes destroy your positive attitude. It’s as if you decided to be the light in a place that literally has dark in its name, and he lov admires you for that.
He can’t help but feel the bitter green of envy though, when he watches you ruffle Lyca’s hair after he whines at you for treating him like a dog.
He pointedly turns away from the look Ed gives him over your head when you relax into his chest after he leans over your shoulder.
He just laughs along at your drunken antics when you nuzzle into Haru’s hand, somehow even more touchy when your cheeks are flushed with alcohol.
He tries not to remember the flash of hurt, confusion, the first time he’d backed away from your hand when all you wanted to do was give him a pat for a job well done. He doesn’t know if it hurt more when your face morphed into regretful understanding, or when you apologised and told him you’d try not to do it again.
Rui tells himself it’s for the better when he notices you’ve been avoiding him for the past week. He’d have done the same to you anyway, if he realised his feelings were starting to fester. He tries to not let it get to him when he hears you enter the Obscuary mansion, only to quickly patter up the stairs without stopping by the bar first, as you would have done previously.
Maybe before, he would have made it a little competition to see who could mess up the other’s hair more. He’d watched you run your fingers through Lyca’s after you’d tousled it out of place, anyway. Maybe in another life, you’d gently hold his face as you showered him with kisses. He’d do the same to you anyway, if he wasn’t forced to keep his hands to himself.
If he didn’t notice you hold your hand back every time you saw his mask slip. If he didn’t see your hand stop short before pulling it back to tell him he had a bit of hair out of place.
It’s all just part of the cursed life, he tells himself. He should be getting used to it by now, he sighs as he walks down the hall over to his room.
Behind him, he hears the jingle of the bell you like to wear on your keychain. He turns at the sound of your quick steps approaching.
“Rui! Ruiruiruiii!!” You call.
“Ah, there you are! Haha, I’m not going anywhere you know~ though I guess I don’t mind being chased?” He teases as you approach.
You smile up at him brightly, “I have something to show you!” You tell him, he notices now that you have a hand behind your back.
“Hm? Aw, did you get me a gift? And here I was thinking you were hiding from me!” He regrets the words the moment they leave his mouth. Your smile falters a bit as you blink at his confession.
But before he can backtrack with a “Just kidding!” your smile lightens again, eyes filling with some sort of resolve as you pull out… a glove on a stick? in your other hand.
He doesn’t pull away when he feels the simulation of a hand on his head. He can’t, when you look into his eyes with such unmistakable fondness. The awkward, stilted movements as you try to run the imitation hand through his hair communicates how long you’ve wanted to do this, and the tears that well up in his eyes betray how much he’s needed it.
He feels the cloth soak up the tears when you move the glove down to hold his face. It feels soft under his skin, and he can’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all.
“How long did it take you to make this?” He asks as you let him lace his fingers with your hand extension. He squeezes the plush hand, feeling the soft give before it reaches the stick inside, inspecting where the glove and stick are attached.
“Um! A week? It took a bit of experimenting to get it to stay on… And they don’t really sell gloves on campus either.”
Your eyes crinkle when you look at him, the corners of your lips pull up triumphantly when he lets go of the hand to let you pat his head again.
“You deserve at least this much,” you tell him. “I know it’s not really the same or anything, but I don’t wanna leave you out, y’know?”
“It was worth it though, if it made you happy.” You look into his eyes as you say this, and he can’t help but believe you.
Reblogs and Comments are appreciated! I love you (◍•ᴗ•◍)✧*。

"If you don't want to talk to me, then fine. Get your lawyer to talk to mine. I just… I just don't want to drag this out any longer than it needs to be."

In the meantime, if you really are in need of more dough, your best bet is to find some additional gigs to fight at. I might be able to sign you up for a tournament if you want?"

"I wish I could hear you say you love me again… It's pathetic…"
[a wet laugh]
"Heartbreak. That's what I was diagnosed with. Heartbreak that developed into an actual heart condition because of my animation origins. Can you fucking believe that? All of this because I came from a drama animation."
"I don't know why I never told you… That's a lie, I know why. My pride. My pride didn't let me. I didn't want to believe you leaving had any effect on me. I didn't want to believe anything was wrong. I wanted to believe without you, everything could just go back to normal."
[a sob bit back with a laugh]
"Instead, I messed everything up. We failed them. I failed them. I failed Purple. I kept it all hidden until it was too late. What parent has their child to look after them like this? They just turned 18 a few months ago. They're still so young. And now I'm never going to see them grow-"
[sobbing]
"It's not fair. To any of us. I wish it didn't have to be like this. I wish you weren't such an asshole. I wish you didn't leave. I wish we never met. I wish I didn't still…"

Thinking about parallels and repeats again.... ← 🖋️
me too
/dsmp /rp
It's hard to dig graves in frozen ground.
Most of the dogs who died under Technoblade and Philza's care were buried somewhere in the forest that surrounded their home. It was a forest She created, after all, so it felt right to give both body and soul back to Her. Whether they died in battle, in birth, or in old age, they lay beside each other in the frozen, arctic ground.
Technoblade was steeping his tea when he noticed that Dream was standing by the graves, near a freshly unearthed patch of dirt.
That morning, they had to bury one of their senior dogs. An older female, small in comparison to her peers, but quick and powerful in her youth. Each night, she slept at the fireplace and let the warmth settle the ache in her hips. That morning, she didn't wake. Philza found her body in the early hours of the day-- the crows had laid a few gifts on her back. Pinecones, leaves, and bits of metal. Technoblade dug the grave later, fighting past layers of ice and snow. Dream was quiet.
Leaving his tea on the counter, Technoblade went outside to join him. He walked behind him, wordlessly, and paused.
"Why do dogs die so... so quick?" Dream asked. His voice was strong and clear. He wasn't crying.
"Well, to Moxie's credit," Techno replied, "she lived about 10 years. Give or take a few months. That's pretty long for a wardog."
"No, that's-- I'm--" Frustrated, Dream spun to face him before taking a deep breath and casting his eyes towards the grave again. "I'm 23," he said, "10 years isn't long."
Technoblade was 50 when he escaped the ring, and he didn't heal until he was 70. He spent 20 long years sobbing into Philza's neck and re-training his exhausted muscles. Re-training his instincts. Re-training his mind. Now, Dream stood before him with bandages stretched across all four limbs, and Techno worried that he wouldn't have time to heal from this.
"23 years isn't long, either," Techno said. "Or 40, frankly. Or 100. You should try askin' Philza what qualifies as 'a long time,' an' he'll give you some stupid number like 5000." He stepped forward. "10 years was a long time for Moxie. She was hurtin'."
Dream nodded, his lips quaking.
"And 1 year was a long time for you," Techno added.
Dream crossed his arms across his torso, fighting the cold. He was much thinner than he used to be. "True," he admitted.
"And ten minutes is a long time for my tea to still be steepin'. Let's get inside."

Homestuck Beyond Canon Upd8 for September 29, 2024
This is honestly a great time for an upd8.
I'm not doing so hot right now. Both my migraines and my fatigue have decided to start kicking my ass even harder. And I'm a little frustrated with that, since I've been trying to participate in the Path of Exile Runic Strife Gauntlet. But that's going to be hard if my body is going to be fighting me. I'm not making very good time as is, and I can't afford to lose a character due to lack of focus.
At times like this, Homestuck is often a comfortable blanket I'll wrap myself in. This comic has gotten me through hard times in the past, especially with amazing wealth of talent and compassion that's in the community. Even now, with probably a pretty hard chapter coming, I'm very much looking forward to it. I'm hoping we can get some more catharsis for Vriska's arc, and maybe finally give her another much needed breakthrough.
Here we are. Finally behind the 8 ball.
Hah! Also, apparently this is just "Later" so we don't have a definitive time frame. At least that probably means another year hasn't gone by.
That . . . that is a much more upbeat Serket than I was expecting. Hopefully she's not playing strong after her encounter with Scratch. She really does need to take some time to process that and move past it.
Nice boss pick there, in more ways than one.
Okay good! Looks like she did take some time reflect and recover. I'm hoping she actually spent some time addressing things though. Would have been nice to see some of that, but Homestuck has a habit of leaving some things to the imagination.
Looks like some opening up might have happened there. That's good! That means progress has definitely taken place!
Fefeta! Chewing everyone's ear off as usual! It's actually a cute contrast to Davepeta going on one of their usual tangents.
Vriska's never been shy about getting in on the RP action. Much less menacing than a Mindfang RP, but also still very much Vriska.
Hah! Vriska's trying to wrap her head around the sprite shenanigans.
Fefeta! No!!!
Nope. Not gonna explain anything.
No glomping without consent!
Consent and glomp achieved!
Looks like they're literally calling them hells. Also awesome art.
I'm still going with (Vriska), but that leaves the opportunity for Terezi to show up too, just as Aradia showed up with Tavros.
Kinda reminds me of the faint image of the stage at the center of the black hole.
Hey! I got one!
Wow! Really pushing the age difference here. This Vriska is still 6 after all.
It's one thing to apologize. But this is still a valid Vriska. Can you accept her.
And apparently she can't do it.
Wow! She really just peace'd the fuck out!
And that's it for the chapter. Vriska has hit another wall. Despite the fact she knows she should, she can't accept the part of her she views as having given up - as choosing happiness over the mission. She's probably telling herself that this version of her left everyone behind when they still needed her, and she can't accept that. But the simple fact is that version of her is still a valid her. It's still a path she took. We don't see any other versions of Vriska in the bubbles, because but for one well placed punch this was Vriska's fate. Sally "thewertsearch" just got to Vriska's death in her liveblog. Scratch makes it clear that Vriska always chose to fix the coin, always chose to go fight jack, and Terezi always stabs her in the back because she knows what the consequences will be. It's a constant across all timelines. And that Vriska always fights to stay relevant until everyone but Meenah leaves her. And then she chooses happiness instead.
And apparently, Vriska just can't deal with that.

The Gang goes to a Gala
Gif credit: @stannyramirez (also reblogged, they are doing the ENTIRE second season so far as gifs and OH MY GAWD. Also shoutout to @little-earthquakes-rp for making sure I saw this amazing creator)
Warnings: Bad editing, the usual. I had a specific picture of a dress for Sunny but you can imagine whatever you want. Linking it feels very Wattpad XD.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, vibrating signaling I had a call. I put down the washcloth, swiping to answer when I saw it was Mitch. “Hey handsome.” “Hey Sunshine.” He sounded good, even over the phone, and I couldn’t help but smile as I finished wiping the table off before moving to the next one, free hand holding my phone. “You busy?” “Well you are my boss, I suppose that is a question for you. Am I busy?” I teased, slipping behind the bar to dunk the washrag in the sanitizer, drying my hands off.
Mitch laughed, that rumble that had me preening, smiling like a fool behind the bar as I glanced around, glancing at the few tables that were in for some midday gambling and some food. Certainly wasn’t busy and really I was just filling my time knowing that Mitch was busy today. “I suppose not. Tell you what,” He started, background sounds making me wonder what he was up to. “Why don’t you grab Ann and go out? You need a dress.” “A dress?” “Mhm. A nice one. A gala dress.” I let out a laugh this time. “Mitch Keller, why on earth would I need a gala dress?”
“Well, darlin’, cause we are going to a gala tonight.”
That had me leaning on the bar, glancing around to make sure no one was lingering around. The bar was fairly empty except an older man near the end, a table off to the side had a couple, and the casino had a few stragglers as well but they were being taken care of by the casino staff Dwight and Mitch had hired. “Forgive me, but I must have misheard you. Didn’t Dwight just get arrested? And we are going to a gala? For what?”
Mitch made that amused sound, the one that I knew vibrated from his chest like a hum when I did something he found either funny or cute. “That is right, and he just got out. And was invited to a gala. So stop asking so many questions and let me get dressed up with my girl.” I contemplated for a moment. The idea of dressing up with Mitch, sipping on expensive drinks and spending some time with our friends. After the night we had last night I wouldn’t mind relaxing a bit. “I’d need Ann’s help.” “Naturally.”
“Is there a theme?” “No idea.” That had a small laugh bubbling past my lips because of course he didn’t know, he just was excited to go. “Alright. Fine. I’m convinced. Will I see you beforehand?” “Ah, no. I’ve got some things to do before the party, but I’ll meet you there?”
“Sounds good, handsome. See you tonight.”
I had been picked up by Dwight and Michael, who I was still refusing to call Bigfoot. Yes, he was a mountain of a man, but he was also Mitch’s cousin and Bigfoot just sounded ridiculous. I didn’t plan to vocalize it, I’d just smile and nod if he told others to call him that, but he was practically my family in a way and Michael wasn’t a bad name. He was also surprisingly sweet and considerate, especially after we parked and he left the driver’s seat to open the back door and offer an arm for support.
I accepted the help happily, not wanting to flash anyone getting out of the vehicle in a dress, as well as have a moment to steady myself in heels. I wasn’t horrible in them, but I didn’t wear them often so it took me a moment to adjust. The dress I picked out was pretty and I liked it more than I thought I would. I had gone to a few different stores with Ann trying to find something to wear and we’d settled on this black dress, the style a classic black dress but with a thigh slit and only one arm. It left my other shoulder and arm bare and the thigh slit showed a bit of skin without being scandalous or get in the way of walking like a few of the other dresses had. Ann had twisted my hair into an updo, leaving my collarbone and back exposed, a few bits of simple jewelry on my skin but nothing too flashy. I didn’t really have much in terms of jewelry beyond a pair of diamond earrings from my grandmother and a necklace Mitch had gotten me a few months ago as a surprise.
“So, what is this gala for anyway?” I asked, smoothing my skirt before slipping my hand into Michael’s offered arm and looking to where Dwight had walked around the front of the car, lighting up a cigar and waiting for us. We began to move down the driveway, oddly away from the house before I saw a familiar van. So everyone else was outside still, probably waiting for Dwight. “No idea.” He said with a small half shrug, unbothered. “Just enjoy yourself tonight, Sunny. Have a few drinks, dance a little. I heard you pulled it together after I got carted away. You deserve a little fun, don’t you think?”
I let out a small sigh through my nose but didn’t say anything, my heels clicking against the asphalt of the driveway as we drew closer to the van. I was busy glancing down at my dress to make sure that it was sitting correctly and hadn’t shifted on the drive over, I didn’t even notice someone had rushed up to us. Arms wrapped me up in a hug and a familiar cologne filled my nose, making me let out a small laugh and release Michael’s arm to wrap my own around Tyson. “You look money, lady.” He said, pulling back to grin at me. Before I could return the compliment he leaned in slightly, tone dropping. “Tell him he looks good, he’s been preening all afternoon, stressin’ about what you are going to say.”
My brows knit together in confusion but he simply gave me another smile and stepped aside. Mitch was there, not so patiently waiting for Tyson to move so he could take the space, hands immediately on my hips. “Look. At. You.” He breathed out, bright blue eyes sliding up and down my form, not yet pulling me into a hug so he could look his fill. I rested my hands on his biceps, busy taking him in too. And damn if he didn’t look far too good, all dressed up in a black suit with a red patterned undershirt, the top few buttons undone to show a little chest and his necklace. But the most prominent change was his hair. “Look at me? Look at you!” I said with a grin, reaching up to slide my fingers through his hair. It looked good, the sides cut short and the top left longer, fluffed up and styled in a way that looked effortless but I knew couldn’t be. Mitch hesitated, clearly having forgotten his own appearance upon seeing me. It was cute, and I couldn’t deny it made me a little proud I could still distract the man. “Do you like it?” While he didn’t sound unsure exactly I knew Mitch enough to understand he was genuinely a little worried about my opinion on the change to his appearance. That had my chest warming up a little bit, the fuzzy feeling of raw adoration for this man softening my expression. “Yeah, baby. It looks good, you look really good. That suit too.” I told him, reaching out to adjust his jacket. My fingers slid under the blazer for a moment, feeling the expensive fabric of his shirt and the warmth of his skin underneath. “Makes me wanna ditch this party and drag you home.” That had Mitch lighting up, pulling me closer by my hips, his head ducking to look down at me. “Well we should stay for a drink. It’s only polite.” He teased. He leaned in, lips brushing mine gently enough, mindful of my make up, before someone cleared their throat. He pulled back and I grinned, leaning around him to spot the others leaning against the van, clearly not in the most patient mood. “Aw, Bohdie! Don’t be jealous, you look very nice.” I teased as Mitch shifted, moving to stand beside me with an arm around my middle. “Yeah yeah, can we go inside?” The grumpy tech guru muttered, looking away with an almost pouty expression.
“Armand isn’t even here yet. Oh, Fred, you look good too!” I complimented the other man, earning a smile and a little nod of his head as he stood a little taller, straightening his jacket. Really all of them looked good, it wasn’t empty compliments to friends. We all cleaned up pretty good. “Speaking of, where is-” The crunch of a bumper had me jumping slightly, Mitch’s hand on my hip giving me a small reassuring squeeze as we all looked over to see an obviously intoxicated Armand stumble out of the offending vehicle, having rear-ended a parked car. “Are you fucking kidding me?” I whispered, not believing this. I knew he was going through some things but to show up drunk, here of all places? Mitch didn’t comment but just gave my hip another small squeeze, watching on as Dwight stepped forward to smooth out the issue with the valet.
“Alright.” Dwight said, clapping his hands, smoking cigar bobbing between his lips. “I need you all to be on good behavior. There are a lot of high-level people with high-level money here tonight. I’m gonna work on meeting Thresher, you all rub some elbows and be polite to anyone who looks interesting.” “Who the fuck is Thresher?” Tyson asked. I’d never heard of the name before so I was curious too. “Thresher is who we wanna be. He runs the oil business, and he is the largest weed distributor in Oklahoma.” Dwight answered, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. “That is one guy we want to be friends with. Now let’s go.” It prompted Bohdie, Tyson, and Fred to push off the side of the van.
We all walked up the long drive, my hand resting on the crook of Mitch’s elbow, a little in awe at the sprawling estate. The house was huge, the lights nearly twinkling, and I couldn't imagine having so much space. The inside of the home was just as opulent as the outside. Staff wove between dolled up women and cleaned up men with trays of food and fresh drinks.
I was instantly relieved to see I wasn't over dressed, relaxing a little more as the group of us hesitated in the entryway. Not that I particularly wanted to come to more of these things but it didn't feel bad getting all done up and having the arm of my mighty fine looking man. He had the top buttons of his shirt undone, hand sliding through his hair as if still getting used to it.
“It looks good, hot stuff.” I reassured with a smile, leaning into his side. He smiled back at me, relaxing a bit more, arm moving around my middle to keep me pressed close in the bustling gala.
“Alright,” Dwight spoke, turning to face us. “Go have some drinks and food. Have fun.” He ordered, waving us off.
I was all too happy to have Mitch lead us away from the entrance with Bohdie trailing behind, the three of us intent on finding a few drinks. I ended up with a delicate flute of champagne, sipping on the bubbly as I glanced around the home. Things like this just seemed so old money, familiar people and families rubbing elbows, not used to newcomers. We had gotten some appraising looks but no one had approached yet.
“Would you ever want to live in a house like this?” Mitch asked, still at my side as he sipped his drink.
I hummed, thinking it over with another sip of my sweet drink. “I don't think so. It feels like… like too much. Too much house to a few people. It would get lonely.” I liked that I could smell when Mitch put the coffee on, hear pops yelling at the game in the living room, the taps of Scruff’s nails on the tile. All those things made the house a home, and if our space was too large I think I would get lost in the halls.
“How did Dwight even hear about this?” I asked the men.
“The lady that boards Dwight’s horse. She is apparently some bigshot in the charity world.”
Bohdie made an amused sound into his glass. “That is putting it lightly. She has deep pockets, knows a lot of important people.” His voice was low, eyes scanning over the crowds of the rich and wealthy. “Lot of people like that here. Important people with a lot of money.”
I wasn't surprised Bohdi knew, I knew he was really into tech so I assumed he went electronically snooping. A lot of that was over my head but I was curious if he has looked into all of us. And if so, what he has found.
“So what I am hearing is that these are not our kind of people.” Mitch commented lowly, his hand flexing on my hip, his other still holding his drink. Bohdie hummed confirmation and I rolled my shoulders to try and dispel some of the tension, unsure what to do.
“How is the new shop coming along? Grace told me the space is amazing.” I changed the subject, looking back at Bohdie. I hadn't had a chance to stop by and look into it but Grace and I kept in contact. I kind of wish she was here right now, wanting a little more girl power on our side.
“Good, it is good. Fairly central so we should see an uptick in foot traffic. I actually was wondering if you would be free to swing by, Grace mentioned wanting your opinion on somethings.”
“Only if there is more of that apricot jam.” Mitch cut in with a grin, fingers brushing against the soft fabric of my gown at my hip. I felt my cheeks heat up, glancing away with a sip of my drink. The last time I had that jam had been on the back porch and it had lead to a bit more than a simple bedtime snack.
Mitch’s chest rumbled in a low chuckle at seeing my reaction. Before he could tease me Tyson came back to us, an odd look on his face.
“What?” I asked, brow quirking.
“They are serving pidgeon.”
“Okay?” I said, confused. Rich people seemed to enjoy eating small birds so that didn't sound so weird.
“And cicada.”
“Like… locusts?” I clarified, concerned now.
“Uh- yeah.” Tyson said, thankful that I was finally on his side of rich people, weird food.
“I gotta see this.” I said, releasing Mitch. Tyson shrugged, offering me his arm to be polite, and I accepted it with a little wave to Mitch as our friend led me further into the party. We wove through little clusters of guests, all the glitz and glamor distracting.
“Bohdie said big money was here. You think Dwight is trying to expand more?” I asked, voice low. Tyson might know something I didn't as his driver after all.
“Not sure, nothing concrete. But you know how the boss is, always a plan.”
That is what I was afraid of. Men like Dwight were capable of amazing things, but enough was never enough. He wasn't even my boss. Mitch was, and Mitch was his partner and the underboss. Not that I really knew what that was but Dwight had been sure to communicate that so it must be important.
I didn't vocalize my worry. Tyson worshiped the ground the older man walked on. I had faith in Dwight myself but not the blind faith these men seemed to put in him.
The pidgeons were easy to spot, the cicadas less so. I glanced at the large table laden with food, eyes lingering at the pile of brownish goo in a beautiful crystal dish. “No.” I whispered, looking up at Tyson.
“Yep.” He answered, the two of us skillfully avoiding the eye contact of the server. We peeled away from the table, stepping into a side room. I went to take another sip of my drink but found it empty, frowning at it. “I will get you another one, hang here.” Tyson said, smiling at my expression and leaving me at the small table.
I busied myself, hands smoothing down my dress to ensure it was still sitting correctly. It fit perfectly but I was a little anxious, not wanting it to shift and make me look foolish in such a public place.
“You look stunning.” A voice interrupted my subtle hands and I glanced over, the voice unfamiliar. A tall, handsome man stood there in a dark blue suit, one hand in his pocket and the other wrapped around a crystal tumbler of booze. He has blonde hair, more dirty blonde, falling slightly across his forehead, eyes so dark blue they were almost black in the low lighting of the party.
“Oh, thank you.” I said politely, smiling at the stranger.
He held a hand out, drink set down at my table. “Aiden. I don't believe I have seen you at one of these events before?”
“Sunny.” I greeted back, giving his hand a small shake. “And that would make sense, it is my first.”
“Well you fit right in.” He said, grin going up a mega-watt, the toothpaste commercial perfect smile I was sure won him lots of hearts. I gave a small nod in thanks, not wanting to stir up problems by being rude. “Are you part of a corporation or here independently?”
What a good question. “Oh, I was invited by a friend.” I said, unsure what the correct answer was exactly. Something about this man had me a little on edge, like being near a dog you were sure was friendly. He was handsome, charming, but that didn't mean he was safe.
“A friend? Who are they, maybe I know them?” He asked, voice dropping an octave as he leaned in.
Tyson appeared at my side then and I felt relief, flashing him a smile. “Tyson, just in time. This is Aiden.” I introduced.
Tyson looked at the other man, handing me my drink with a small nod, hand extended. They shook hands, Aiden’s smile dimming a bit with the company.
“Anyway, we should probably get back to our group. It was so nice meeting you Aiden.” I said, slapping on my charming smile. I leaned in, free hand hugging him quickly before pulling back and taking Tyson’s arm.
He seemed surprised at the touch but not off put by it, one hand settling on my lower back a moment before righting himself with a small nod. “You as well. Hope to see you at the next event.”
“We’ll see. Take care.” I said, squeezing Tyson’s arm as he got the hint and led me away. He seemed a bit stiff but I didn't comment on it, pulling him around the corner and out of sight. I didn't say anything until we found a private little nook.
When we stopped I set down my drink on the ledge, producing a dark leather wallet. “Thank god.” Tyson sighed in relief, shoulders slumping slightly. “You scared me there Sunny.”
I raised a brow in question, opening the wallet and snooping in the contents. “Did you think I was getting fresh with a rich stranger?” I teased, lips curling into a little amused smile. I pulled my phone out, snapping a few pictures of his ID, as well as a few scribbled notes tucked away next to the crisp hundreds.
“I had no idea you were pulling a James Bond, I was terrified I would have to tell Mitch you were getting fresh with another guy.”
I glanced up from the ID of one Aiden Michael Thresher, meeting Tyson’s dark eyes. “You would tattle on me?” I questioned. I had no intention of cheating on Mitch but hadn't thought about how others would react if I did, the interpersonal loyalty between us all a bit convoluted. “Not very bestie of you, Ty.”
“Hey now, don't do me like that.” He said, hand pressing to his chest. He looked almost as though he was pouting, adjusting his jacket next. “I would tell you if I thought Mitch wasn't acting right.”
“Even though he is an underboss?” I asked quietly. I dropped the wallet, giving it a little kick with the heel of my toe. It slid easily across the floor, stopping near a table. I smoothed a hand over my hair before grabbing my drink, reaching to take Tysons arm again.
He offered it willingly, looking down at me with a stubborn set to his brow. “You my ride or die, Sunny. Can't forget that.” I hummed, giving his arm a little squeeze with a smile. After the shoot out we were a lot closer and I wasn't going to forget that either. “What you do that for anyway?”
“He just- he felt weird. I want Bohdie to look into him. And his last name is Thresher, think it is the one Dwight was talking about?”
“No idea.” Tyson admitted, leading me back to Mitch and Bohdie.

Spread Kindness Celebration: Day 1: Choices Fandom Shoutout Day
This event is hosted by @choicesfandomappreciation. When I signed up for this I didn't realize it was for a game fandom, but I still want to participate, since most of my mutuals know I am huge on spreading positivity.
Today, we are suppose to give shoutouts to readers, supporters, event hosts, and creators. With that in mind, I thought of one mutual / friend who has been there for me since I have started this writeblr: @littleshopofchaos. I look forward to seeing your RP and your diamond paintings, etc, on my dash.
With that in mind, I remembered what you said about wanting to RP with me. While I don't RP -- which I may change in the coming year -- I did write a little fan fiction between Bianca and Cain. I hope I didn't get Cain too out of character. I did try to incorporate what you said about him in this post.
Acquaintance / Friendship: Cain (Chaos) & Bianca Moore (Harbinger of the End)
Rating: Mature
Word Count: 704
Fandom: Original World
Content Warning: betrayal, cosmic themes, emotional trauma, existential themes, isolation, moral conflict, philosophical discussions, self-doubt, self-sacrifice, unresolved emotional wounds.
Summary: Bianca and Cain discuss their diverging paths and philosophies on destruction, redemption, and purpose.
The stars spun in slow, rhythmic circles above Bianca and Cain. Their light fractured across the swirling nebulae and distant galaxies of the worlds beyond the Ethereal Nexus. They stood on the edge of existence, an unsteady platform towering above the forgotten town below. The platform cast long shadows against the cosmos.
Cain looked up at the vast, undulating sky. His tone was soft as he glanced at Bianca. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it? This is everything that’s worth protecting, Bianca.”
Bianca crossed her arms. Her gaze never wavered from the stars. The universe, so easily manipulated, was so fragile beneath the weight of her ambitions and power.”
“It is beautiful.” Her gaze still watching the path of a planet float by in the sky above. “But beauty and weakness often go hand-in-hand. For too long, I’ve been bound by my past, my wounds, and my mother's self-imposed duty to safeguard a creation that has betrayed me over and over. This kilonova — it’s a way to bring new purpose. To end the cycle of suffering that has followed our kind like a shadow.”
Cain looked at her carefully, as though searching for the woman he had known briefly on Earth: the woman beneath the ambition. “I used to think the same way. Chaos was my path. It shaped me. I lost the people I loved, leaving only emptiness behind. I thought destruction would fill it.”
“You believe the answer is redemption, don’t you, Cain? You think I should seek the goodness that was denied to us both and that you are trying to find in others?”
“Yes, because I found that path. I had the opportunity to change, to become something more than a weapon of chaos and ruin. People like Darcy. They taught me that creation can rise from the ashes of destruction, not through obliteration, but through choice.
“All this — life and beauty — it’s fragile, yes, but that makes it precious.” He gestured around them, as the galaxies above their heads spun lazily in the ether. “If you destroy this, Bianca, its gone forever. My brother, Darcy, and everyone. Gone.”
“My path is not yours, Cain.” She whispered, her voice quiet, but there was no bitterness in it. There was just resignation. Her black wings relaxed against her back and cascaded down like a dark feathery cloak. “I have no place in a world built on false promises and broken oaths. I’m no guardian of the light. My role in the grand scheme of things is to change the omniverse through destruction. Only then can it be cleansed, so that something better might be reborn.”
“And if that something better never comes? Bianca, you have a heart. A wounded heart, yes, but it’s still there underneath the scars. I wasn’t too far gone. You aren’t either.”
“Maybe you’re right. But I’ve walked in shadow for a millennium now, as an abomination that shouldn’t exist. I don’t even know if I would recognize the light even if touched me.” Her gaze shifted back to the stars. “I want to believe what you are saying. Maybe, somewhere inside of me, I even envy you for it. But my fate was determined long before Creation. For me, there is no other choice.”
The shadow of sadness, a fleeting flicker of understanding, momentarily crossed Cain’s face. He nodded. “Maybe one day, you’ll see things differently. I hope you do, Bianca.”
“I appreciate your words, Cain. Truly. And I wish you well on your path of redemption. I hope it brings you the peace you deserve.”
He gently touched her shoulder. “If you ever find yourself wanting more, reach out. There are people who care about you and welcome you with open arms.”
With a final look back, he raised his hand and opened a swirling portal back to Earth. His outline shimmered against the starlight, as if he was a figure caught between realms.
“Take care, Cain.” The light of the portal flickered and died, and Bianca felt the familiar chill of solitude as Cain disappeared, leaving her alone once more. She gazed up into the spinning stars and galaxies of the Ethereal Nexus: an agent of chaos and a keeper of her own destiny wherever it should lead.

Hidden in the Sands (Yandere!Naga!Kunikuzushi)
Warnings: Character Death (not reader, not kuni), Some Gore (description of a corpse), Injury (of reader), Monster AU, implied semi-cannibalism (he isn't human but close enough), some blood (mostly not reader's, a little is kuni's), biting, venom, graphic description of venom effects (used on reader non-lethally), kuni-typical insults, venom effects are made up, kuni tries to kill you (at first but doesn't follow through), reader has a semi-near-death experience, threats, kidnapping, imprisonment, nonconsensual touching (SFW ofc), general yandere themes, kunibaby is Not Nice but it's okay because he's hot, reader goes through the wringer... if you prefer soft yandere, this is probably not for you. loosely based on a rp I did with a friend.
Sorry I lied about the rook and sebek HCs. I have Sebek's pretty much done I think, but Rook remains an enigma. Might post them separately, idk.
Kuni's appearance is inspired by the desert horned viper. If the formatting seems a little weird at any point, it's because tumblr messed it up when I copy/pasted it here. Might fix it later.
6.5k words or so.
The Desert of Hadramaveth.
You haven't been here before. You thought the rest of the desert was bad, between the heat which was "enough to melt a mist flower but not really" (paraphrased from a certain fox friend) and the unforgiving terrain.
This was worse, with its near-constant sandstorms. This was the second one today, and you had only just left the Tanit camp. In other areas of the desert, you were begging for a reprieve from the sun, but here, you were almost begging for it back if it meant you didn't have to worry about getting sand in your eyes and throat. It was almost, almost enough to make you consider turning around and dropping the commission.
"Do you want to hear a dry joke?"
If it weren't for your friend here, you probably would. Unfortunately, you can't turn back now that you've gotten his hopes up. The most you can do is slump your shoulders and sigh, suffocating under the endless heat, what little you could see of the sun, and what you knew was coming next.
"Sure, I'll bite."
A large, beaming grin spread across Sanad's face, and you braced yourself.
"A desert."
"That's terrible."
"Oh, come on! It's funny and you know it!"
"Does that even count as a proper j-"
You paused, looking up at the sky. In the distance, you could see a large, beige cloud. Again?
"We need to find shelter. There's a sandstorm coming."
"Well, looks like we're in luck. Where isn't shelter?" he responded.
It was true. You and Sanad were somewhere just north of the Tanit Camps, near Wadi Al-Majuj. Ahead of the both of you was the entrance to a deep canyon, lined with ancient ruins. According to the map, it was called Pairidaeza Canyon. Behind you, there was another entrance to a different canyon, and according to your map, if you went back a ways and to the right, there'd be a third one.
"Come on, let's go! I need to look through these for my thesis!" He rushed, running ahead of you.
"Careful!" you called out. "There might be bandits down there."
He immediately slowed to a stop, sheepishly turning around to move back to his place next to you.
"On second thought, take your time. Just make sure there's nobody else in there."
You chuckle, already starting a reasonable pace down the steep slope into the canyon. "Thought so. Just a reminder, we're leaving immediately once the sandstorm ends, unless we find who or what we're looking for."
Right. What you were looking for. Recently, small groups of travelers and even large caravans were being attacked. Most of the attacks occurred between the Tanit Camp and around the Passage of Ghouls. A few supplies were usually stolen, but that wasn't the worst part.
A few days later, the rotting corpse of one of the travelers or nomads would be found, half-eaten and with a twin set of puncture marks in their throat. Any useful supplies would be missing, but oddly enough, the mora was almost never taken.
Normally, you'd assume that maybe it was just a deranged serial killer, and either the bodies were eaten by wild animals or the culprit was worse than you thought. But it was strange. What serial killer had fangs like that? And if it was a wild animal, what use would they have for supplies like bedrolls and first aid kits?
The survivors usually all said the same thing; they were caught out in the middle of a sandstorm, and all they heard was a scream or shout before one of their friends disappeared. When the body was found, some key survival supplies would be missing as well. When a caravan was attacked, some supplies (and occasionally people) would even be snatched right off the backs of the desert sumpter beasts.
Hence why you and your friend Sanad were out here to crack this strange case. Mostly you, though, since Sanad only wanted to take a gander at the desert ruins for some Akademiya thing. You'd probably have gone alone (or at least tried to, before you decided the mora wasn't worth it) but when he heard that you were going to this section of the desert, he insisted on coming for his thesis or something like that. He helped pay for the trip, and he was paying you personally, so you had no reason to refuse. He was your friend, and good company to boot, even if he was a little bit skittish.
"Well, that might be possible... but you said you didn't even know if the culprit was a person, didn't you?" he inquired, as the both of you passed the first of the ruins in the canyon.
You sighed. "Yeah, I told you all about that already."
A glimmer of excitement appeared in his eyes. "Well, I've been thinking since then, and I remembered this old desert legend! Have you heard of nagas?"
"Nagas?" you parroted.
"Yes, nagas!" He nodded his head. "They're an ancient race of ferocious half-human half-snake people that supposedly existed during the reign of King Deshret. Apparently they were equal parts revered and feared, as wise and strong beings."
You raised a somewhat skeptical brow. "I thought you didn't believe in legends?"
He laughed. "The Akademiya has declared them to be just baseless nonsense, so of course I don't think they actually exist. I just think it's very interesting, and it technically matches what we know..." He trails off, looking around in awe.
"If you want to look around, you can. Tell me if you see or hear anything."
You didn't need to tell him twice. With a rushed "thanks!" and a wave, he was practically bouncing up what probably used to be a set of stairs to a higher level within the ruins, off to your left. In the meantime, you'll look around, see if you can find anything interesting.
You looked up and around, spinning on your heels. From what you've seen of the canyon so far, it's just a straight corridor with partially collapsed stone ruins on both sides, and a fallen wooden bridge that once connected them. You can see several ways to climb up higher and explore the ancient stone buildings, including the way up that Sanad went.
You and Sanad are pretty deep into the canyon at this point, and you have to crane your head just to see the top. As you do this, you notice just how many floors there are in the ruins. Some have crumbled so much they seem almost completely inaccessible. They're so high up, you can't see anything on them from your angle at the bottom.
There's just so many places to hide. The realization makes you tense up a little. Maybe you should have gone up with him.
It's so strange though. The complicated ruins, numerous hiding places, and the nearby water would make this place an ideal camping spot for bandits and thieves. But so far, you haven't seen hide or hair of anyone else. Not even an abandoned camp.
Until somewhere in the ruins, you hear an odd sound. It's hard to make out, and it sounds so much like the normal shifting sand that you almost brush it off as a natural sound in the canyon. But you hear stone crumbling and rocks falling, and you look up, seeing something move on the side of a ledge too far above you to check. It's close enough that some of the rocks hit the ground next to you. You squint, watching the ledge, waiting for whatever it was to move again, but the sound stops. The hair on your neck stands on end–from what, you aren't sure. Sanad is even closer to the source of the sound than you are, but not far away at all. Just out of sight. Was it from him? Or someone watching him?
Or are they watching you?
You're not sure, and you'll check just in case. Sanad doesn't have anything to defend himself with except for a dagger. Without another thought, you surge up the stone steps, hand subconsciously finding its place on the pommel of your sword. When you get up there, you see him standing with a hand on his chin, studying some old glowing contraption you've never seen before.
"Did you hear that?" you ask, breathing just a little heavier than normal.
He turns to you somewhat incredulously, just as fine as ever. "Hear what? I haven't heard anything. Are you alright?"
You calm down a little bit, letting your hand fall from your sword. "I'm fine. I was just worried about you. Didn't you hear that noise? I saw something move up there." You look up at the ledge the rocks came from. You don't see any way to get up there that's safe.
The sand is starting to pour in harder through the massive gap in the canyon ceiling, and the wind is beginning to howl. You and Sanad are slowly being dusted in sand.
"You're a little on edge. Relax! A sandstorm is starting and the wind and sand probably just knocked a few rocks into the canyon or something. It happens all the time." He flashed you a reassuring smile, turning back to... whatever those were on the wall. They're shaped somewhat like bowls, and as sand pours into them, sand also pours out a hole in the side into another one of them. You're not the researcher here, so you ignore it.
You let go of some of the tension in your shoulders, letting out a held breath. "Alright, sorry for bothering you then. Just so you know, if the sandstorm gets any worse, we'll be moving deeper into the canyon to get out of the sand."
He turns back to you, somewhat pleading. "But can't I stay? I'm not the one looking for the guy, so you don't need me to come with you, right?"
You expected this, just as you expect that he'll be the one choosing to come with you after what you say next. "Yeah, you could, but if something happens I probably won't be able to hear it if I'm down there."
He freezes, grimacing a bit. "Alright, alright. Let me know when you move on."
As expected.
You chuckle at him with a lopsided smile, turning back to go down the ramp. He was probably right. It seemed like such a silly thing to panic over. Of course sand and rocks would shift and fall in the desert during a sandstorm. That's probably all you saw. You're glad you brought Sanad along and not some other stuck-up researcher who would have made fun of you for it.
When you reach the bottom again, you turn your attention to the ground. Aside from the sounds of the howling wind and pouring sand, you can hear water dripping as it coalesces into the wide but shallow puddle in front of you. That's not what interests you, though.
There's a long indentation in the sand, about as wide as you are, as if something had been dragged through. It extends further into the cave, where the ground becomes rockier and the track disappears.
You crouch down to inspect them further. Chances are, it's probably a large haul of supplies that was too big to properly carry. This place is the perfect hideout for thieves and bandits, so it would be worthwhile to investigate. If you're lucky, it might be the bandit you're looking for.
The canyon starts to darken, so much so that you now have trouble making out the edges of the track. Most of the sunlight that filtered in through the top has disappeared behind a haze. The sound of howling wind grows louder, and the hiss of pouring sand all around you is almost deafening. You've had quite enough of the sand raining on and around you, so you call out for Sanad to come back. It doesn't take him long to come rushing back down the way he came.
"We're heading deeper in to wait out the rest of it," you explain.
He sends a longing look back at where he had come from. "Alright... I see," he concedes, with a dejected slump of his shoulders.
You'll humor him. "Did you find anything interesting?"
He instantly brightens up, excited to talk about whatever he found. "Yes! It's this interesting mechanism that fills with sand. I read about it in a textbook once! It can be opened and closed, but I couldn't figure out how to. I've heard if you can fill them as they were intended to be, you can get treasure from them!"
You two begin moving deeper into the canyon, and you send him a teasing smile. "With the way you're talking, I'd almost think you're the adventurer here."
He shudders. "I could never. At least, not as a full time job. You encounter monsters all the time, don't you?"
"They're not so difficult to deal with, once you're used to seeing them."
"That is not at all reassuring!" He stops to let out a breath. "No, I just want the free mora. Trips like these are expensive."
You sigh. "Well, if you want to, we can at least take a crack at it together on the way out of here."
His eyes light up again. "That's wonderful! We can even split the rewards if we manage to solve it!"
"No more than an hour, though," you warn. "With all the sandstorms, we don't have the time to waste."
"Aww, fair enough." A moment of silence passes, and he turns back to you. "Oh, I almost forgot to ask you! Did you find anything interesting?"
You think back, and the only thing that comes to mind are the tracks.
"Well, a little bit behind us, I found these drag marks. Like someone had dragged a big bag or something, I couldn't tell what."
"Drag marks? Oh, so maybe it really is a naga after all."
You turn to him in exasperation. "Didn't you just say you didn't believe in them? Besides, why'd you even tell me about them if you don't think they exist?"
He laughs. "I'm kidding! I only told you mostly because I wanted to. But I have a more realistic theory too!"
"Really now?" You raised a skeptical brow.
He turns to you, faking a gasp in faux offense. "Why are you looking at me like that? Of course I do! I don't study at the Akademiya for nothing!"
You chuckle. "Oh, go on then. Don't keep me waiting."
"What if the culprit keeps a snake around? Think about it, at the price of a little food, they'd get an unlimited supply of p–Hey! Don't laugh at me! It's not as ridiculous as it sounds!"
Apparently you weren't as good at hiding your snickers as you thought. "No, no, I'm not laughing at you. I was just imagining it in my head. From what I heard, it would have to be a pretty big one based on the size of the puncture wounds and the distance between the fangs."
He crossed his arms, looking away. Guess he didn't quite believe you. "It's not THAT unbelievable, especially in comparison to the naga theory... Haven't you seen the street performers with the snakes in Port Ormos?"
You hold your hands out in a placating gesture. "Okay, okay, you're right, I'm sorry. But your theory doesn't explain everything–what about the half-eaten bodies part? And they almost never take mora either... besides, the street performers use nonvenomous snakes."
"I guess it would be risky, but in theory, venomous snakes can be trained too! Desert dwellers tend to be... fearless. Though..." He puts a hand to his chin in contemplation, looking down. "I'm not quite sure about that other part either. Though it's not as if cannibalism was ever off the table, there's always the chance it was just wild animals that found the body after. As for mora... maybe it's someone who never gets the chance to spend it anyway?"
"Like, a recluse or something?" you pipe up.
"Yeah, exactly! Someone who's completely self-sufficient, who doesn't need to deal with other people to survive. Makes enough sense. They probably get everything they need from the people they're attacking."
At this point, the both of you are up to your ankles in water. The canyon is fairly wide at the bottom and grows so much narrower towards the top that very little sand makes it through, so you take the liberty of brushing as much of it off of you as possible. The both of you pass the last of the stone ruins. Up ahead is just bare, mostly untouched canyon. It's damp enough to support an amount of greenery that seemed a little out of place in the desert. You can still hear the wind howl, but it's a bit quieter here.
You and Sanad pass an opening in the wall to your right, leading to a dead end with a fairly deep pool and what looked to be a crumbled stone bridge.
"Your theory is a little... out there, but some of it definitely makes a good deal of sense."
"It's an early hypothesis! We'll revise it as we find more evidence."
You roll your eyes a bit. "It's alright, I'm not judging you."
You look around again. There's plenty of dry places to stop and rest without worrying about sand, so this should be an adequate place to wait it out.
"Why don't we stop here?"
"Not yet!" Sanad points further into the cave, where it opens up some more, with a rock jutting out of the center of the room, surrounded on one side by a shallow stream of water. "I can see more ruins in there! You can stop there and I can keep looking around."
You sigh, for what felt like the hundredth time. As much as you wanted to rest, it wasn't far away at all. "Alright. But we're still going back to that mechanism immediately once the sandstorm is over."
"I know, I kn–"
From an entrance to another path to your right came a blur, barreling right at Sanad. You have barely enough time to shove him behind you and out of its way before it stops in front of you both, dark claws bared.
Now that you can get a look at it, you realize it's a scarred, shirtless man with a dark head of hair, sharp indigo eyes, and... two pale, straight horns? Looking down, he doesn't have a pair of legs, but a sand-colored snakelike tail with rough scales. Even without the rest of his tail, which was hidden behind him, he's quite literally twice your size.
A naga?
He sneers at your sword as you pull it from your sheath, showing off a long pair of fangs. "A little short, isn't it?" He hisses. "Good luck with that."
"Sanad, get back!" You cry, holding your sword out in front of you threateningly. The naga seemed more amused than anything, simply starting to circle. Watching.
While you backed up to keep the naga from getting between you and Sanad, he hurriedly ran far back the way the both of you came, staying just close enough to watch the both of you.
Without warning, the naga lunged forward, one claw-tipped hand reaching out to swipe at you. You swung your sword at his arm, but missed, just barely grazing his side. Still, it was enough to force him back. He brushed over the superficial wound with one hand, smearing what little blood came from it, taking a look.
You stand there, adrenaline pumping through your veins, unsure of what to do. His reach was almost as long as yours, even though you were the one with the sword. This has to be who you're looking for, but you're beginning to think that you should've brought more people.
When he looks back at you, that cruel sneer is still set in his face, but a glint of annoyance is now present in his eyes.
"Lucky hit. Don't count on it happening again."
He doesn't hesitate, rushing forward immediately. You swing again, but it's too early, and he barely has to slow down before he's coming at you again. He's so close now that he grabs your shoulder, claws digging in hard enough to draw blood, shoving you down. In a blind panic, you're forced to adjust your grip on your sword so that you can bring your arm back and stab into his tail.
Before you even realize what's happened, you're on the ground, wind knocked out of your lungs. The arm that had held your sword is pinned to the ground by one of his hands, the other still holding onto your shoulder. You wheeze pathetically while he leans down and slides his fangs into your throat.
Your sword had bounced off of his scales, barely even leaving a mark.
The first thing you feel in your throat is pain, followed by an overwhelming numbing sensation, only interrupted by pins and needles. He chuckles as you thrash around in his hold, your free hand trying to push him off. The sensation is spreading, from your shoulder down even to your fingertips. The only thing you can do is let out a pained groan.
The pressure, from anything, from his hands on you to your own as you push and hit him, hurts. Like everything that touches you only pushes those pins and needles deeper into your skin. It's this feeling that finally makes you go limp in his hold, giving in. It gives you the chance to look up, focus on anything but him, and see that Sanad has long since abandoned you. Lucky bastard.
You hope that he gets away, at least. Even as the half-snake thing on you pulls away to hold your face in one hand, forcing you to look at him.
"Seems your little friend didn't care for you as much as you cared for him. Don't worry. I'll do you a favor and make sure he gets what's coming to him." You manage to focus on his face, smeared with your blood and that same, ever-present sneer, but with something else behind it. Something vindictive.
You grit your teeth. It stung, even though you knew it was the only reasonable thing for Sanad to do.
It's petty, and it won't do you any favors, but you lift your arm and slap him across the face as hard as you can. The impact alone sends shocks of pain down your arm, but he barely even moves.
Instead, he laughs in your face, dark amusement flitting across his hauntingly beautiful features. "What was that? A love tap? After everything, I'm surprised you can even try." He leans in closer still, your noses almost touching.
"I'm sure you feel proud of yourself, don't you? Good job! I might just leave you for last, then."
Without another word, he dashes off to find Sanad, and all you can do is pray the snake isn't successful. After all, what's a pampered Akademiya researcher to do against a man-eating monster?
You try to stand, but a bone-deep exhaustion pulls at your limbs. You can only get halfway up before your vision starts to go dark and you collapse onto the ground in a graceless heap. The pressure still hurts, a strange buzzing sensation rising alongside the needles and numbness. All you can do to help it is curl onto your side, minimizing your contact with the ground.
You lay there for a while, drifting in and out of consciousness for who knows how long. The pain is fading slightly, but you're not sure if it only feels that way because you're getting used to it.
Maybe you're dying.
A chill goes down your spine at the thought, and you do your best to dismiss it. It isn't hard, not when your thoughts are interrupted by a terrified, blood-curdling scream cut too short to be natural.
It brings you back to your senses. You keep listening, but you can't hear any more noises over the constant sounds of the canyon. Dripping water, falling sand, and the howling wind.
If that was Sanad, then since you're already deep within the snake's den, it must be only a matter of time before he gets back...
You're pushing yourself back on your feet before you know it, another rush of adrenaline supporting you. To do what, you're not sure. If you couldn't win before, you certainly can't now. But you're already running as best you can to where you saw Sanad go, though it's more of a relatively fast half-stumble than anything else. Everything still hurts, and beneath the venom you can start to feel your muscles ache too, but if you focus on moving it isn't unbearable.
You forgot your sword. You'd turn back to get it, but even with the adrenaline your limbs feel like lead, and your sword arm is so weak you don't think you could do more than carry it anyway.
You've just reached the ruins again, and looking around at all the nooks and crannies gives you the idea to hide. As sluggish and unarmed as you are, you can't fight anyway. Maybe if you hide long enough, he'll go away. Sanad might still be alive, if you can make it to him.
You don't know how long you were laying there, but if you could hear Sanad, they couldn't have gotten far. That fact is a double-edged sword, you realize. It's been a while since you heard his scream, and if the naga was coming back then it wouldn't be long until you saw him. You don't have much time.
You stagger your way as fast as you can manage to your right. You don't see anywhere to hide down at the bottom, but there are plenty of places above. It's so much harder than walking on flat ground, but you force yourself up a wooden ramp onto a stone platform. There aren't a variety of places to hide here, either, but you don't have the energy to go up any higher.
You hear the water below you being disturbed, in a way too constant to be footsteps, and you quickly duck forward to avoid being seen. You don't dare look, instead opting to slowly move towards a large stone statue to your right, as quietly as possible. With one look back to make sure he hadn't come up to check, you hide behind the stone dais that the statue rested on.
You take a breather, listening for any more sounds. You can't hear the water being disturbed anymore, but the thought of moving alone is both terrifying and exhausting. If you wait too long and he finds you gone, he'll probably come back to look for you. On the other hand, if you leave too early and he hears you...
With this in mind, you rest a few minutes more. The wind is slowing down, and there's less sand in the air than there was when you and Sanad first came through, so the sandstorm has likely stopped. At least the naga won't have that going for him too, once you and Sanad leave.
You'd stay longer, but the anxiety eats at you. It's only a matter of time until the naga comes back, and you don't know what condition Sanad is in.
You get up on shaking legs, your body begging you to sit back down and rest more. You know better, so you force yourself forward, looking over the ledge to make sure he isn't nearby.
You stumble back down the wooden ramp, turning to continue down the path to the exit. You have to stick to the sides of the path, where the sand is highest, just to make sure nobody can hear the sounds of splashing water.
Sanad can't be too far off now. Maybe he'll be in the same state you are, and you both can return to the Tanit camp and get help. You still have your pack on you, but the only thing that might be useful soon is the small first aid kit and the knife.
You really hope you won't need the knife.
Just in case, you pull it out of your pack and put in in your pocket. You're out of the water now, but you've come to a steep hill. The only way out is up. You hope you can make it.
You grit your teeth, sweat dripping down the side of your face as you force yourself up the incline. Onward and upward, you think bitterly. The overused phrase "ad astra abyssosque" parroted endlessly by everyone else at the Adventurer's Guild comes to mind. You never thought you'd make it to the stars or abyss to begin with, but you didn't think your journey would end so soon, either.
Your muscles burn with exhaustion, and you think you can feel the numbness slowly spreading further into your legs. Still, you continue upwards, at a much slower pace, even as you almost collapse a few times.
You come up to a point where the hill flattens out for a short distance. You're panting from the exertion, and you almost breathe a sigh of relief until you see what's in front of you.
"Sanad!"
Before you know it, you've staggered forward to collapse at his side. He's lying face-down on the ground in a small pool of his own blood.
You turn him over, tears pricking at your eyes, praying his condition wasn't as bad as it seemed. His head lolled to the side, face pale and eyes empty, unmoving. The blood, on the ground and splattered all over the front of his Akademiya robes, still dripped from the massive tear in his neck. It looked like a set of claws had dug into his skin and tore off the front of his throat.
Your breath hitches, and you fall backwards, dropping his body. Tears well up in your eyes. Why hadn't he done the same to you? Why did he do so much worse to-
"So, so loyal. Like a dog running to protect its master. You're adorable, really, even if you're a little late."
You freeze, only turning your head to look over your shoulder at him. He's slowly approaching, a condescending smirk on his lips. Half-dried blood covers one of his hands.
"There's no need to mourn. He was pathetic. Did you know that he only cared enough to fight when it was his life on the line?" He looked distant for a moment, before looking at you with something almost soft in his eyes. It disappeared so fast, you'd almost think you had imagined it, the condescending smirk and mock pity sliding to cover his face once more. "You poor thing. You're better off without him. No need to thank me."
You blink away the tears, an idea coming to mind. You couldn't overpower or outrun him, so there's only one possible option for you. "You're a... you're a lying bastard! What else was he going to do?" You yelled at him, pushing yourself up on unsteady legs to face him, backing over your friend's body.
"Humans are untrustworthy," he croons, following after you. His eyes don't leave you even once. He's sizing you up, and with nothing more than a moment of contemplation, his smirk widens and a victorious glint appears in his narrowed eyes. "He was using you. Once you were no longer useful to him, he discarded you. It's pretty naive to think he left you with any other thought in mind."
You don't dignify that with a response, continuing to back up. One of your hands almost moves down to your pocket, where your knife is hidden, but you stop it before he sees.
Your heel hits the sharp incline behind you, where the hill keeps going, and you fall backwards and hit the ground. A derisive snort comes from the snake.
"I've decided what I'm going to do with you. It's much better than what I did to your friend, here. You should thank me, really." He towers over you, leaning down to your level, setting a hand down on the ground next to you. Your hand twitches for your knife.
He watches you for a moment, a quiet, breathy laugh leaving his lips at your frozen state. All you do is stare at him, shaking from the adrenaline. Finally, his other hand comes up to rest on the nape of your neck, pushing you closer to him. You can feel the sticky blood on his fingers.
His eyes glimmer with excitement, and he continues while your hand slowly drifts to your pocket. "You're just helpless. I think I'm going to keep you with me, like a little p-"
You thrust your knife at him, landing a hit on his side while he lurches away. Your blood runs cold. It should have been buried hilt-deep, but instead all you've done is leave a bleeding gash. It's not quite superficial, but it won't stop him, and you know you won't be able to land another.
His lips curl in a snarl as you scramble backwards up the hill. You turn, and start running, but adrenaline can only carry you so far. You feel almost like you're in a nightmare, fully conscious and trying to run but unable to move at any pace that could possibly save you.
It only takes a moment for a large hand to wrap around your ankle, dragging you underneath him. Your face hits the ground and your hands scrabble for purchase, but the dirt and sand only give way beneath your fingers. His other hand finds the wrist with the knife, squeezing tightly enough that you can feel the pain, even underneath the lingering numb, buzzing sensation. You can't feel your hand well enough to keep holding onto the knife. The pins and needles return, and tears prick at your eyes.
He knocks the knife far away from you and flips you over to look at him, dark eyes still burning with anger. "You're alive only because I let you live. Did you really think trying that was smart? Did you finally get it all out of your system, or do you want to try again?"
You try to speak, but the words get caught on the lump in your throat. A hand slams on the ground next to you, and you shrink in on yourself.
"Well?" A glimmer of satisfaction appeared in his eyes, even as his lip curled in a mixture of amusement and contempt. "I'm waiting."
It's all you can do to croak out a few apologies and look away, unable to stand his stare.
A deep chuckle resonates from his chest, and his other face grips your jaw, forcing you to look at him again. "Good enough," he croons. "Looks like it won't be so bad for you, then."
"What? What won't?" you whimper. His hand lets go of your face, drifting down to encircle your neck. Your hands instinctively wrap around his wrist, silently begging him not to squeeze.
That little mocking smile on his face widens. His hand tightens a little, and you panic for a second, but it doesn't go any further. Instead, his eyes grow distant, thinking.
They brighten up again, an idea coming to mind. He laughs quietly to himself, pulling his other hand off the ground and trailing it down your leg. "You can call me... Kunikuzushi. I think I know what I'm going to do with you now."
"Please don't hurt me," you plead, vision blurring with tears. He doesn't even look at you, instead watching his hand as he grabs your calf and pulls it up. "It's a little late for that," he hums, adjusting his grip to hold onto your ankle instead. His fingers are long enough to wrap fully around it and then some.
"I can't watch you all the time, and I need to buy myself enough time to get something to restrain you with... besides, you deserve this anyhow."
You were about to ask him what he meant by that, but with a distressing amount of ease, he twisted your ankle to the side hard enough that you could hear the pop. The pins and needles returned to that area full-force, the buzzing and numbing sensations right behind it. It didn't hurt that much, though. You could feel an ache beneath it all, but it didn't hurt as much as it should have. You were sure you could still walk on it.
Until you looked down, where it was still in his hand, twisted so far to the side that you weren't sure it would ever be the same again. It doesn't hurt that much, but your shoulders still shake and you still start to cry.
"There, there," he murmurs, dropping your ankle to stroke your hair. He leans down lower, a smile a little too sharp to be soft on his lips. "You'll be okay. I wouldn't get a pet if I couldn't take care of it."
You try to push him away. You know you need to do something about your ankle, but he only presses closer, resting more of his weight on you so thay you can't see it anymore. "It's a bit too late for that now, don't you think?" he whispers, leaning in to press his lips against yours, too eager and with too much teeth. You flail a bit, trying to push him off, but he only chuckles into the kiss, biting your lip hard enough to draw blood. An arm wraps around your waist, pushing you closer.
It feels like an eternity, but soon he's sweeping you up and slinging you over his shoulder. He turns around to go back down into the canyon, and you watch Sanad's corpse disappear over the hill.
This time, you can feel him rumble with the force of his laugh.
"I'm going to have so much fun with you."

Garreth Weasley NSFW alphabet
Explicit content
These are just my personal headcanons for my favourite boy!
A = Aftercare
Amazing aftercare. Makes sure his partner is okay after a particularly rough session, lots of cuddles and kisses. He'll happily wrap them up in his arms and bathe in the afterglow for hours, telling them how great they were. Plies his partner with hot chocolate and runs them a hot, bubbly bath.
B = Body part
Garreth has long been thought of as an arse man in my mind, but he loves all of his partner's body. Whatever they have, he's into it. He loves to praise their appearance, showering them with compliments especially if they're a little self conscious. That said, he can't resist grabbing a handful of bum whenever he walks past and is easily distracted by them bending over.
C = Cum
He's a Weasley. He's verile and produces a lot of cum with a lot of very aggressive swimmers. Definitely into cumplay. Loves to fill his partner up during sex until they're dripping, then fuck it back in with his fingers. (or cock).
D = Dirty Secret
Loves to be pegged. He's hesitant to admit it in public but it turns him into a begging mess.
E = Experience
He's had a few conquests during school though they're mostly boy/girlfriends rather than one night stands. He's pretty experienced by the time he's an adult and eager to try out new experiences, whether he's suggested them or his partner has.
F = Favourite Position
Doggy and reverse cowgirl are favourites so he can massage and smack his partners behind, leaving bruises and red marks. Loves to watch his cock impaling them.
G = Goofy
Can be a little goofy, so expect a good time when having sex with Garreth, including bouts of tickling and giggling over positions gone wrong. He doesn't take mishaps too seriously or let it get awkward; he's all about a good time.
H = Hair
Of course the carpet matches the drapes. He has a fair amount of thick ginger hair over his chest. Keeps it trimmed down below after a partner told him his hair tickled their nose during oral. He doesn't mind when it comes to a partner what they have; whatever they're comfortable with.
I = Intimacy
He's a huge cuddler and a bit (very) soppy. Loves to shower his partner with kisses in public and private. When in a relationship he falls pretty hard and fast, wanting to spend a lot of his time with them, engaging in all kinds of intimacy.
J = Jealousy
He gets a little jealous but is pretty self assured so doesn't let it get to him too much. He expects his partner to respect him enough not to make him jealous on purpose.
K = Kinks
He loves to experiment and there's not a lot he doesn't enjoy. For the most part he's pretty dominant but tried pegging once and has been hooked ever since. He has a little bit of a breeding kink as an adult and enjoys cum play. I can also imagine he has a praise kink as he works hard to please his partner and loves being told how well he's doing.
L = Location
Everywhere and anywhere. He's horny a lot and isn't scared to have sex in semi-public places. The thrill adds to the fun.
M = Masturbation
Prefers his partner to take care of him but if they're not around he'll do it himself. Pretty perfunctory with his hand, though he's tried pillows and other items to get off*. Enjoys mutual masturbation.
*The sandcastle in RP isn't my headcanon though soz @finalgirllx
N = NO
Isn't too keen on anything too extreme; blood and other bodily secretions. Cuckolding would push his boundaries and flare up his jealousy. Doesn't like humiliation.
O = Oral
Equally loves receiving and giving, including rimming. When he gives, he goes all for it and is very vocal in his enjoyment. If his partner is female, he loves them to sit on his face and nestle himself between their thighs.
P = Pace
Once he gets going he can lose control pretty quickly. He often goes hard and fast until he's breathless and sweaty.
Q = Quickie
King of the quickie, he'll take it anywhere if time is short. He knows how to please his partner in as little time as possible. Prefers a longer session with multiple rounds, but he'll not pass up the opportunity.
R = Risk
Loves to experiment, as long as it's done safely; he doesn't want to unintentionally hurt his partner. He likes the risk of getting caught, though (as long as it's not by his aunt).
S = Stamina
Goes multiple rounds. Will cum inside his partner and stay buried inside them until he gets hard again.
T = Toys
Doesn't have any for himself but happy to use them on his partner. I imagine he prefers using his body, though, and maybe a few spells or experimental potions to enhance the experience.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
He can tease, but would likely lose a game of wills. He wants it too badly.
V = Volume
Very vocal and loud, he makes it clear how much he enjoys sex. Silencing charms are a must with Garreth.
W = Wild Card
Garreth is a thorough lover and makes sure his partner is satisfied, even if it's just a quickie. If he needs to take them aside later and give them a round of mind-blowing oral, he will. His pride would be wounded if he can't make his partner come at least once a session.
X = X-Ray
What's under his clothes? Garreth is pretty well built with broad shoulders, muscular thighs and strong arms (he's a farm boy who helps around his family home and is constantly on the go when at school and dabbles in Quidditch as a beater). Has a little tummy from his love of food, though. His cock is 7 inches, uncut, pretty girthy. Thicker just below the head and curves upwards.
Y = Yearning
Very high sex drive, pretty much always up for it. He also yearns for his partner when they're not around, preferring to keep them close. Would be rubbish at long distance relationships.
Z = ZZZ
He can get pretty energetic after sex and go several rounds. Once he's spent, he'll enjoy cuddling up and falling asleep with his partner in his arms. Maybe after a snack.

I’ve seen your post about good starters, is there anything with good conversations starters that’ll actually get characters somewhere?
So, starters are something that gives other people an idea of how you play your character, what your goals are, and what you're looking for. They also need to be pretty open ended, or happen in a public place unless you want to hook a specific other character. That means a starter is infinitely customizable and super personal to write. Just copy pasting any given starter is not going to do the job you need it for, it'll stymie your growth and leave you scrambling to keep up with whatever someone else chose for you. On top of that, starters are not what keep RP going: The plot and player is.
So, let's jump in and break it down a little more so it's easier to put together your own starter from absolutely nothing, and how you as a player can keep plot going after the initial starter is dead in the dust behind you on your little journey, shall we?
When you write a starter, basically you're writing a hook to get someone involved in a situation. You're putting out into the world a question, or something that looks like it needs to be interrupted or acted on, so that other people will interrupt or act on it. So write it from that perspective: what would make you want to engage with a post?
So, pick apart what's important to you to get from a partner. When you roleplay, you look for specific goals, an A to B, essentially. Are you writing this scene in an attempt to explore the character and maybe find out something about their past or reveal a secret? Do you simply want to see how they respond to others? Or do you have a plot in mind? If there's an arc of a story you wanna get through, you're gonna have to nestle your starter securely in a situation that will allow you to forward that plot. See what I mean about it being deeply personal?
For example: If I were playing Tony Stark, and I wanted him to show off a new invention while handling his PTSD, I might drop a starter invoking curiosity. I'd set it up with a scene, probably near his workshop but public enough someone would have a chance to see me. I'd be carrying something remarkable but, questionable. "Did you just see him with a bomb?" This item would effect another character, so it would be rewarding to double check Tony isn't about to wreck your household by blowing it up. Then I'd have an experiment or invention in mind. He's made a robot that goes and grabs bombs, and folds over them to protect the household ala Steve Rogers jumping on a grenade. Mostly to stop Steve doing that shit. Cool, cool. I'll have that in mind when I describe what they find if they call out to him, and he ignores them and keeps bolting, or they follow him to see what's up. Then I can discuss it, and show emotions in my post that lead the other character to ask questions why I made this. Reveal a personal story or anecdote, and eventually get cornered by their curiosity or my loud mouth into joking and revealing some deeply personal trauma. Tada, a starter!
A starter that only works for my goals of exploring Tony's trauma, that only works for Tony Stark, that only works with characters who would see him when he's vulnerable at home with the other Avengers. So it's absolutely personalized and broken for anyone else.
Except, throughout, you can see how I logically broke it down! Here is the hook, here is my character's interests, here is why another person wants to care, here is my goal for the reveal, here's enough plot to feed into the machine to keep them interested, here's how I expect the scene to get to a certain point. It's very loosely put together, because by the end of it I might be looking at their trauma instead if, for instance, the explosion sets off a panic attack. Keeping flexibility helps keep a conversation going.
It also helps to provoke. Prod, ask questions, be curious, or offer something that makes other people want to know more. When you just roleplay hi, how are you, hello, how's the weather that's not a conversation so much as small talk. Which will die out quickly because there's no bonding or true interaction beyond the surface level. Like a geode, a character must be broken to see what shiny things are inside. So find something to crack them open a little, a chip here or there.
Now, if the other person absolutely fucking sucks at prompting you or offering a chance to open up? You may wanna, as a player, screw with the narrative and make for external pressure. Put your character under a deadline, by making them be waiting for something stressful. It makes them try to get things in fast, and they mess up. Maybe have a phone call or something happen, so they have to talk in front of the other character and divulge more than they meant to. You can force things on your character from outside, and it can help keep things going.
Relying entirely on your characters to keep things going is a fool's errand if the characters are not expressive, extroverted, and mouthy. A quiet stern guy who keeps to himself will want to kill a conversation quickly, and it'll drive other players off because they think that's you doing it, not your character. So make sure your narration explains why they're acting like that, and give tips to approach for the other character. Like I said, external forces may be the only way to force someone out of their shell while making sure your RP partner wants to keep digging!
You may have to fudge your character's personality or characterization slightly to get the ball rolling. Don't be afraid to make them slightly OOC if it means opening a door to tons more IC things. What, you've never blurted out something by mistake, or gotten mad and said something you regret because it's not really you? You never lied? Tch! They can fuck up too! Let them! Explore that!
Starters are never gonna be as easy as reading off cards, or having something set-up for you. You're gonna have to look at the setting for your character and see what's important. Are there places people frequent? Are there hobbies your character does that may be interesting? Can you arrive covered in blood because you're an assassin to prompt other people to fret until they realize it's not your blood and you can brag about the kill? Can you do something that seems out of character, but is perfectly normal? Be interesting! be interested in what your partner has to offer too, maybe it's not what you intended but following THEIR plot concepts can be super rewarding too!
So, good luck, and happy roleplaying!

Hello everyone! 🐋 It's Friday here, just before the Live Letter, so I thought I'd whip out a small Compendium update before it gets crazy!
There's not that much this week but, with Dawntrail, so close, I'm not worried — I'm sure I'll be swamped with people coming back very soon. With that in mind, however, as of today (06/14), the following resources have been added to Sea's Community Compendium for XIV Creatives.
MISC
Pride Backlighting Tutorial — Do you want to see your characters awash in the colours of Pride? Maybe you just want some cool backlighting behind them? @whitherwanderer has put together a guide for you!
SEAFLOOR
We're a Tumblr Community now! For people unfamiliar with the concept of Communities, I encourage you to check out the tumblr post by staff made about them here. However, copy/pasting what I have written in the Compendium, the Community functions as so:
SEAFLOOR (A FFXIV Community) is a Tumblr community whose duel-purpose focuses on my projects — the Compendium, question drives and screenshot events — whilst also reblogging member created works, resources (including events, commissions and looking for content/roleplay/free company posts), affirmations and other xiv-related content. If you are interested in supporting my projects without the social aspect of a Discord, I highly encourage you to join the Community. Everything hosted on the Discord will be cross-posted there; you will not miss out on anything. As Communities are still in beta, members need to be manually invited. If you would like to join, please like the tumblr post here. Once Communities are out of beta, I will remove this section to better reflect its true public status.
I'm hoping the Community will function as a member-curated dash, resource hub and visual diary for my projects and member created works. There are no hard feelings if you want to leave the Discord and only join the Community. Please do what makes you comfortable!
Want to submit? You can either fill out the google form here or send me an ask with the relevant information!
Is my space suitable for the Compendium? Most of the time, yes! Below the read more is some more information/stipulations. Again, all the below information is accessible on the document! 🦈
Below are the following things I do not accept on the Compendium:
Personal/Single-Character LFC ads.
Content intended for or can be used for bullying, harassment and OOC gossip. E.g. ‘Secrets’ blogs, receipts, callout posts, etc. This does not include in-character tabloid blogs used to generate RP.
Communities that do not have an RP/writing element (large-scale exempt).
Anything I find personally distasteful or goes against the spirit of this project.
Common-sense rule applies.
FAQ.
I want to put my community on the compendium but we have an application process. Is this okay?
Yes! Just note somewhere in your application that's a requirement. The only thing that is mandatory for the Compendium is that you must be open to new members or have a public-facing/accessible facet. There's no point advertising a community if no one can join it in some way!
I want to put my community on the compendium but I only have x number of members —
Also totally okay! People don't start with large communities. Activity is a must but, whether your server has two or two thousand members, if you're looking for new people to join, I'd love to help you find people.
I want to put my community on the compendium but I worry its too niche?
Okay, and? If your Eorzean Fishing Alliance has four members but you roleplay every second weekend, I still want to know about it.
What resources/communities can I add if I'm not the owner of them?
Mutual consent is extremely important to me, so anything that isn't a large-scale community OR a publicly accessible resource must be endorsed by the owner/admin/moderators in order to be added to the compendium. I operate under the assumption that a resource posted to a public space (tumblr, googledocs, youtube, etc) is open to all. A large-scale community is one with a significant member count or openly advertises itself as being accessible to everyone for whatever purpose it serves. If in doubt, please get in touch with me. I'm happy to contact your community owners for you!
How active does a community need to be?
If you find a community has not been active in about two/three months, send me a message and I'll take a look at it. Communities have ebbs and flows, especially event spaces that may take hiatuses depending on member interest/life events. I'm not strict in my implementation provided a space isn't dead. If a link or anything is broken, absolutely contact me about that.
I have [insert a question not stated here]?
No drama! Send me an ask or use the #Compendium channel in my Discord!
#final fantasy xiv#ffxiv#ffxiv community#。・゚゚・ — sea's community compendium#。・゚゚・ — sea speaks#YAY I GOT THIS OUT IN TIME#there might be another over the weekend if there's more submissions but#it's quiet atm so i'm pretty confident there won't be

"Well...I don't want to speak too soon," Emily admitted, making room as Randall hopped into bed beside her. "But I don't see why not: after all, everything's been going well so far, hasn't it? I can't imagine that things are going to take a turn for the worst out of nowhere. Everyone seems to be getting along well. Things are going about as well as they could be: Erika's starting to warm up to your father's brothers and mother's parents, and Colin and Callahan took the news of your father's struggles well.
I wouldn't worry about it," she murmured sleepily as she curled up against Randall, holding him tight as she felt herself begin to drift off to slumber. "They only got here two days ago...everyone's still adjusting. But everything will be alright, you'll see."
With that, Emily was out, not to stir for the rest of the night.
--------------
The following morning at breakfast, Emily was still groggy with sleep. She drained a generous amount of tea in hopes to wake herself up, to no avail. Between the sleepless night she'd had the evening before last and the action-packed evening in the park the family had shared hours before, Emily was completely sapped of energy.
But at least Lon and Erika were full of energy, and were in high spirits: even Erika appeared to be in a particularly chipper mood as she chipped away at her plate of blueberry pancakes. She and her brother were in such high spirits, and they hadn't even been gifted their new toys yet!
"At least someone has energy this morning," Emily dryly jested as a butler stopped by to pour her yet another steaming cup of tea. "I don't know how they do it, having so much energy after a big night out."
@beatingheart-bride
Fortunately, Erika didn't ask for another go-around with the Mad Tea Party the way she did Dumbo, instead mostly wanting to go on the more leisurely, more relaxed rides, such as the Storybook Land Canal Boats and the Casey Jr. Circus Train, both of which she alternated sitting with her parents and her grandfathers, and thoroughly enjoyed herself in both instances. It seemed like, slowly but surely, her shyness was being chipped away at, becoming more and more comfortable in August's presence. It was slow progress, of course, but progress nonetheless.
And that progress came to a head when they all disembarked from Peter Pan's Flight: Randall was quite surprised to see a sleeping Erika in her great-grandfather's arms, her little head resting on his shoulder as she slept rather contentedly.
"She just...dozed off!" August was smiling from ear-to-ear, trying to keep his voice down, lest he wake her, but there was no denying the joy in his voice, clearly over the moon to see that Erika felt comfortable enough around him to fall asleep beside him. He was suddenly awash with memories, remembering holding June when she was that young, carrying her into the house in the evening after a long day of playing...
Speaking of his daughter, she was just arriving with the others in tow, Lon similarly crashed out in Callahan's arms, and looking positively cherubic from his place in his granduncle's embrace: He was as energetic as Randall and Emily had predicted, but though he put up a valiant effort, he'd dozed off just as they pulled into the station after finishing their ride on Big Thunder Mountain.
"Oh...what a pair of little angels!" Josephine cooed, as Colin smiled, "Ah, reminds us of how Willy used to fall asleep after a long day on the farm-Cal and I used to take turns carrying him off to bed; he was as rambunctious as Lon here, but boy, once he hit his limit, he dropped like a sack of bricks!"
"This was a perfect night," June smiled, leaning against Wilhelm as the family began their walk back to Gracey Manor together, the adults quietly enthusing over the evening's events, while Lon and Erika continued to blissfully dream on their family's shoulders.
#theheadlessgroom#hatbox ghost#randall#RP: Two Worlds; One Family#(I wouldn't be surprised if that episode was inspired by 'Sunset Boulevard!')#(It's probably been a decade since I watched it; so my memory's a little hazy;)#(But I remember the ending being pretty bittersweet: sure; she's back in her glory days)#(Forever starring in her most famous film; but she was never able to leave the past behind until it consumed her!)#(I remember the episode ending with her assistant/caretaker searching for her)#(While the projection keeps rolling: it was a really interesting episode!)#(I just looked it up; and it's called 'The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine!')

The First Goodbye
((Drabble based on the backstory of a RP done with @mittysins of Fawn's very first experience with birth.))
TW: Teen pregnancy (18+, but still), Forced adoption, Mentions of past abuse.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I found out I was in labor when I took my lunch break.
When the manager excused me, I would usually head to the back of the UDF to grab a Lunchable to snack on; but with the baby sitting so hard on my bladder, the first thing I did upon clocking out was haul-ass to the bathroom. As I was cleaning up, I noticed something unusual: a large yellow clot, with tiny streaks of blood. It sat there on the paper, lookin' like an egg yolk and grossing me the hell out.
I remembered something the doctor said to me, but it was faint. Something about a mucus plug? I think that's what it was called. I just remembered something about mucus coming out, and how it meant labor was starting.
That was when I started to worry. I'd been having cramps that day, but I was having cramps pretty much all the time now. The baby was tugging hard at my lower back, his feet were in my ribs, and pretty much everything hurt 24/7. But, if the mucus plug had come out...that meant I was in labor, right? And if I was in labor, I had to be worried. That was something to worry about!
I decided not to say anything about it to the manager, though. If I asked to leave early again, I'd get written up. I'd already asked to leave early twice in the six months I'd had this job, both times because the morning sickness was kicking my ass.
I couldn't afford to get fired. I fuckin' needed that job.
I ate my lunch and went back to work, but I started keeping a closer eye on the cramps I was having. I knew I should've been timing them, but the last three hours of my shift had to handle the after-school rush of kids wanting ice cream. So, I couldn't really keep track.
I grinned at the elementary school kids and their parents as they came in. Some of the kids were little shits, but the majority of them were sweethearts -- especially the kids that came in often. They were always so excited to see the colorful ice cream flavors lined up behind the glass, and some even jumped for joy when I handed them their cones. I felt the baby kick me while I worked, and I absently rubbed the place on my belly where his little heel was causing a bruise.
"Is this your first?" the woman on the other side of the counter asked me, as I poured sprinkles over her daughter's strawberry swirl.
"Oh....yeah, he is," I said with the most winning smile I could muster.
"How sweet!" the mother beamed as we moved to the register. "When are you due, sweetie?"
Shit, when was I due? Was this too early? I couldn't remember the date the doctor gave me all those months ago. I hadn't had insurance for months.
"Soon," I said with a grin. "Real soon."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had my first real contraction while on my walk home. I was stopped at a crosswalk, waiting for the light to change, when a deep ache started in my back. I grunted and stretched, but the tightness didn't ease until I made it across the street.
The second one happened a half-hour later when I was climbing the stairs to my room at the women's shelter. I paused and rubbed the side of my belly, the discomfort catching me off-guard. It felt like a period cramp, but really, really strong. The kind of period cramp that would give you a day off from homeschool, so your mom could wrap you in a blanket that had been washed in lavender water and make you herbal tea.
I made a pit-stop in the community kitchen to steep some of the leftover tea in the drawer. It wasn't the same kind Mom made, but it was close enough.
I spent the rest of the day alone in my room, packing some last-minute items into my duffel bag. I'd accepted by then that I was in labor, and I started working on timing my contractions. I would pace between my bed and the wall when the pain would start in my back, stepping in time with my internal counting: "One...two...three...four...five..." until the contraction ended.
I remembered reading about the five-one-one rule in a pregnancy book I borrowed from the library, so I knew it was probably going to be a while before I reached that point. I was only counting to twenty on each contraction, and the goal was sixty. At least I had time.
I used the landline to call UDF and tell the manager on duty that I'd gone into labor and wasn't going to be available to work for the next week. He did not sound happy about it, but it wasn't like he didn't know I was pregnant. Baby's gotta come out sometime.
So, good. At least I didn't need to worry about work. A jolt of anxiety shot through me when I realized I'd just lost a week's worth of pay. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly, moving my hands to hold up my belly. That wasn't important right now. I could deal with that later.
For now, I just had to focus on myself and the baby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When the sun set, I decided to try and get some sleep. I would need my energy later.
What sleep I did get wasn't good. I kept waking up with the feeling I was falling, only to realize I was still in bed. I would lie there awake until a contraction inevitably started, and I would hold my belly and try to steady my breath. They were getting pretty bad by then, every muscle in my torso squeezing inward -- even my shoulder blades were being pulled down my back. I would lie there on my side, huff a few breaths until the pain faded, and then try to fall back asleep.
Rinse and repeat. For hours, and hours, and hours.
Once, only once, I was able to fall asleep enough to dream; but even that didn't help. A contraction in my sleep turned my dream into memories. The pain started in my lower back, and Alexander was subtly crushing my hip in his hand when I said something wrong in front of our friends. The cramping spread to my belly, and Alexander was slamming his fist into my gut while his other hand pinned me by the neck to the mattress. I heard the ghost of his voice in my head, even after I woke up with a pained gasp:
"If 'ya won't get rid of it, I will! I ain't raisin' a kid!"
I laid awake for another two hours, blaming myself for everything. I should've left Alex years ago, before he ever had the chance to get me pregnant. Hell, I never should've dated him in the first place; but I still remembered why I did.
Alex was my first taste of freedom. I was homeschooled until the ninth grade, on a commune where the philosophy was "love is free". My parents were honest with us kids that they didn't just sleep with one another, and that some of my younger siblings were likely not my dad's. It was the same story with most other families on the commune, and that was the only lifestyle I'd ever known.
When I entered the general public for the first time, Alex was the first to tell me I was the only one his love was for. One love, for one lifetime and beyond. That was a concept I'd never thought was possible. I'd been taught that a human is too sexual of a creature to stay with one partner forever; but there Alexander was, telling me I was his one and only. Forever. He told me he wanted to be my one and only. Forever.
So, I stayed.
Even when the playful insults stopped being playful, I stayed.
Even when his occasional annoyance turned into constant anger at me, I stayed.
Even when the pinches and nudges turned into punches and shoves, I stayed.
Even when the apologies stopped meaning anything, I stayed.
I only left when I had someone I needed to protect.
My life changed a week after high school graduation, when I saw those two pink lines on the bathroom counter. There was a last glimmer of hope when I showed them to Alex, but he snuffed it out immediately.
I packed my bags with what I could carry, promised Alex that I was going over state lines to get an abortion, and took the first bus that was going in the opposite direction.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And now here I was, having my last moments alone with the baby. I cradled my bump as it sat in my lap, slowly tracing the outline of the baby I could feel with my hands.
"I'm really gonna miss you," I said to my belly, feeling his legs wiggle around at my touch. "I don't feel so lonely when I get to talk to you."
It was seven in the morning, and the contractions were really starting to pick up after about seventeen hours of labor. I sat on the edge of my bed, dressed in leggings and a maternity t-shirt from Goodwill. My duffel bag sat next to me, full of what I would need: a change of clothes, a bunch of menstrual pads, a few bottles of water, and a toothbrush with toothpaste. Everything I would need for my hospital stay.
I leaned back on the bed with a groan, feeling a contraction wrap around my torso. "Alright, kiddo," I huffed, breathing through the pain. "I hear 'ya. Let's go."
The contractions were a regular five minutes apart now, but weren't lasting a full sixty seconds. I figured now would be a good time to leave for the hospital, before things got too serious.
I spent the next hour hailing a cab, standing on the street corner with my bag hung over my shoulder. I rocked back and forth when I felt a contraction, breathing through my nose. I was starting to feel a distinct pressure in my pelvis. It kind of felt like I had to pee really bad, but not exactly. I could tell it was a different kind of pressure, something that was trying to come out of a place nothing had ever come out before.
The cab took me to the hospital and I had just enough cash to cover it. I stood in front of the hospital doors and took a deep breath to steady my nerves. The realness of the situation was sinking in, and I was scared.
"Okay, baby," I whispered, giving my underbelly a rub. "You ready to meet your parents? They're waiting on 'ya."
The baby nudged my ribs again, and I took that as my cue to enter the lobby.
The baby. Not my baby. He wasn't mine. Well, he wouldn't be soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
David and Kira were amazing people. There was a reason I had chosen them, out of all the couples that approached me, to be the parents of the baby. They had adopted twice before, and they even invited me to their house to sign the legal papers. Their older children seemed very happy and healthy. The house was clean and big enough for one more addition, in a nice neighborhood. They were even paying for my hospital stay. They were perfect for him.
Certainly better for him than a homeless nineteen-year-old without a future.
Despite how wonderful they were, I did not want them in the delivery room with me. I just wanted to be as unseen as possible. The nurses took pity on me, a teenaged girl laboring all alone with a baby she wasn't going to keep. I must have been a truly pathetic sight, especially as active labor wore on for several more hours.
I remember hanging from the sink in the bathroom, screaming for the first time as the first full-blown contraction hit me. My body shrank in on itself, my arms and legs aching from the force of it. I remember feeling the weight of the head sit heavy on my cervix as the nurse rushed in to check me right there on the bathroom floor. I was only at five centimeters. Halfway there.
I was made aware that David and Kira had arrived at the hospital and were waiting in a separate room somewhere else in the maternity ward. I told the nurses to send them updates as often as they wanted...just, please, don't let them in the room.
I was offered an epidural more than once, but I refused it. I almost changed my mind several times, especially when I reached seven centimeters and the pressure was starting to make my ears ring. But I was afraid it would slow down my progress, and I just wanted this over with. I just wanted him out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I started screaming for pain relief the second my water broke, and the baby's head started sinking through my cervix. A quick check showed I was in transition, and an epidural was no longer safe for them to give me.
My eyes stung as sweat dripped into them, my pulse hammering as my body prepared for the imminent birth. I felt like a gun ready to fire, and the pressure of the bullet inside my birth canal was maddening. It burned, it ached, it throbbed. It was the worst pain I'd felt in my life.
I remember sobbing as a nurse placed a cold compress over my forehead. The nurse had bright orange nails, I remember that too. I don't remember her face, or her name, but I wish I did. All I remember of her were those bright orange acrylic nails as her hand wiped the tears from my cheeks.
"You're almost done, Fawn," I heard her say. Her voice was fluffy and sweet, like cotton candy. "We've all been so proud of you!"
I remember what I said then, because I kept saying it for several minutes. I screamed it, tears streaming down my cheery-red face:
"I want my mom! I want my mom! I want my mom!"
I don't know how long it took me to run out of breath, but the next thing I remember is that same nurse stroking my sticky hair. I could smell the scent of her skin, and it made me feel warm.
"I know, honey," I heard her whisper. "I know you want your mama, but we're here for you. Hear me? You got all of us right here."
I don't remember if I said anything else after that, because right around then is when I felt the need to push hit me like a satellite. I might have used some very unbecoming language, but I don't remember.
The next thing I knew, I had my feet up in the stirrups and I was clinging for dear life to a towel they'd tied to the bed's squat bar. It was uncomfortable as hell and when I pushed, I felt like I was barely making any progress. But I couldn't move, and I had no other choice but to push up against gravity.
I'd been in labor for twenty-six hours, and I had officially lost the energy to scream. Every last ounce of willpower I had was being forced down between my legs. I could hear that same orange-nailed nurse saying something to me, but I have no idea what it was.
I felt the head starting to slip out when I pushed, but as soon as I relaxed it would slide right back inside. I didn't need to see what was happening I could fucking feel it.
The doctor's gloved hands helped to stretch me around the baby's head, but I just wished she'd stop -- it hurt bad enough without being pulled apart like a grilled cheese sandwich. My legs shook as hellfire ignited between my legs, but whatever noises I tried to make came out as muted grunts. All I could do was push. I knew if I just closed my eyes and pushed, it would eventually be over.
I felt the nose sliding past my skin, and I peered through one open eye in time to see a spurt of fluid as the head slipped out with a wet pop.
"There he is!" the orange-nailed nurse said. "He's on his way, Fawn!"
I tried to see over my belly, but I couldn't move my hips out of the position the stirrups held me in. I could feel the weight of his body siting right behind my lips, stretching me horrendously from the inside.
"Big push, Fawn," the doctor said as another contraction wound up. "Let's get him out."
But I didn't want him out anymore. I didn't want to let him go. Once it was over, it would be...over.
I wanted more time. I wanted to talk to him, safe in my belly, when I felt homesick. I wanted to feel him move and kick, and remember I wasn't alone in this shitty situation. I didn't want to let him go yet. I just wanted more time!
It was too late for more time. He wanted out and he wanted out right that second!
I pulled as hard as I could on the coiled towel and pushed until I felt dizzy. The doctor tugged gently under his shoulders, and I felt his body gush from me in a last rush of fluid.
The relief I felt was euphoric, better than any drug that might be out there. All the pressure, all the pain, it vanished as soon as he was out. My limbs turned into putty and I collapsed back against the bed, a black halo surrounding my vision.
Then I heard him cry. A loud, mewling wail that showed he was healthy. I turned my head and saw the doctor handing a nurse a blanket, inside of which a purple arm and a blue foot flailed around.
"Ohh, Fawn," I heard the nurse whisper. "He's beautiful."
My head was spinning, and I'm pretty sure I dipped into unconsciousness for a few seconds. When I opened my eyes again, I saw a small pink body laying naked on a table under a light, a measuring tape wrapped around the crown of his bald head. I could feel someone applying pressure to my perineum, and a quick glance by my legs showed the doctor was working on something down there. I probably tore, but it didn't hurt yet.
I turned my eyes back towards the baby, but they'd already wrapped him in a blanket and was fitting a tiny blue hat over his head. How adorable. A nurse picked up the baby-ritto and carried him to the door.
By the time I realized they were taking him away, the door was closing behind them. I blinked at the door, silent and pale as snow.
That was it, then. He was gone.
I let my head loll back onto the thin pillow, staring blankly at the ceiling as the doctor fixed me up. I didn't move from that position as they wheeled me to a recovery room, far away from the maternity ward. They at least took me away from the sounds of crying babies and happy new families.
I may have cried at this point, but I don't remember.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I spent two days recovering in the hospital, bleeding like a stuck pig and hardly able to move because of the stitches between my legs. I had no visitors, save for the nurses who came in to check on me and bring me meals. My breasts leaked colostrum onto my hospital gown, food for a baby that wasn't there.
I was eight pounds, six ounces lighter when I stepped out of that hospital. It felt like I was missing more than that, though.
I took a cab back to the women's shelter and suffered the climb back up to my room. I lowered myself onto my bed with an agonized moan, quickly laying on my side because it hurt too much to sit.
My belly still rolled outward like a hill, but there was no movement there anymore. I attentively stroked it, feeling its new texture. It was soft and empty, no longer full and firm.
I was alone now. I was all alone.
At least I knew the baby was in a better place than I was.
My baby was in good hands.
I am no longer fit to lead, so I shall help others lead where I have failed, so they know what to do and not to do... and hopefully, not make the same mistakes I did. Do not ask if I wish to remove my chains, I deserve these, for they are my punishment for the things I have done. ˖⁺‧₊˚ ˚₊‧⁺˖✮-------------------✮˖⁺‧₊˚ ˚₊‧⁺˖ Lore:
Corvus, once known as Tyran, was one of the original bishops who helped rebuild the world after the fall of the old gods. As the Bishop of Order, he believed that strict control and structure were the keys to ensuring stability. For over a century, he ruled his domain with an iron fist, imposing harsh laws and rigid discipline upon his followers. Though his intentions were to create a harmonious and orderly world, his severe methods became tyrannical. The people under his rule grew resentful of his oppressive leadership, feeling trapped by the very order he had promised would protect them.
Eventually, his followers rebelled, overthrowing Tyran and stealing his crown, which stripped him of much of his power. Betrayed and weakened, Tyran was forced to flee, leaving behind the kingdom he had once built. Now, at 300 years old, he has spent the last century wandering the world, reflecting on the choices that led to his downfall. Chains attached to heavy balls drag behind him, a constant reminder of his past mistakes, and though he could remove them, Corvus chooses to bear them as a symbol of his penance. Over time, he came to realize that while order is important, it must be balanced with freedom and compassion.
No longer seeking to rule, Corvus now wishes to guide others, helping them succeed where he failed. He hopes to find a leader or a community to serve, where he can offer his wisdom and ensure they do not make the same mistakes he did. Though humbled, Corvus still believes in the value of structure, but now knows it must be tempered with kindness and flexibility. As he wanders the world, searching for a new home, he is ready to assist those who seek balance, guiding them toward a future that avoids the harsh extremes of his past.
I’ve been having really great rp lately. It feels like my passion for the hobby has been reignited after my really bad falling out with an ex rp partner. My trust and magic just seemed shattered. I didn’t think I would ever get it back.
The partners and guild I have now have been extremely understanding about my mental health and the breaks I have to take for it. I don’t get left behind or replaced and they always welcome me back with open arms. The stories we’ve been writing all together have been filled with high stakes and meaningful moments. Our inside jokes are funny and ones we even include new people in so they don’t feel left out. Everyone is extremely normal about rp and there’s rarely points where the lines get blurred. When they do, we all just stop and talk. We’re just here to write and have fun and be friends.
My main rp partner has not only been my best friend but also has helped heal so much of that broken trust with the community and people in general. Having them in my corner on an ooc level has meant the world to me, especially when others have used me and left me in the past. I never would have joined the guild if it weren’t for them, but they encouraged me to leave my comfort zone in a healthy way.
I really do feel so blessed to have all of you. I wish I could show you all just how much I love you and how our group has saved me from one of the darkest points in my life. Thank you. <3
