"Well, it looks like he did go to sleep after all," Robin commented, as they walked in the house. "Yeah, I guess his lunch will have to wait," Juliette replied. "But he had a wonderful time, he looked so happy around you." "I had a great time too. I can't wait to live all together, which will be soon, I hope." "I hope so too," Juliette answered, then they just stood there, looking at each other for a few seconds…

"You still haven't told me, how come your mother decided not to join us today?" Robin asked to change the subject, as he placed Rowan on the swing; Juliette let out a sigh. "Well, in the end the respect for my privacy prevailed in her; she understood that we're adults now, thankfully".

"But she still doesn't trust me, does she?" "Of course she trusts you, and Dad does too. I'm not going to lie, they were both a little sad that Row no longer carries the last name Shen, but overall, they're happy and grateful to you - just like me. Really, I can't thank you enough for what you did today". "You don't have to thank me; I just did what I had to do as a father."

"I know, and I thank you for that too. But I wasn't talking about the registry, I meant you and Row, you are right for each other; to see you play together like that, how you understand each other so well, was just beautiful. This whole day itself, it was perfect."

"Yeah, it certainly was." Robin replied. Again, they stood looking at each other. He, holding back his desire to kiss her; she, fighting the impulse to throw herself in his arms.

Until Robin took a few steps away and cleared his throat, willing to change the subject once more. "Do you know if your father has been able to unlock the document yet?" he asked; Juliette snapped back to reality. "Ah, yes, about that…", she stammered.

"Dad told me he was close to figuring it out with the help of a friend, Dr. Beaker." She replied, following Robin across the room. "Great, I hope the document actually contains information about my parents, and about the true reason the Oasis Landing Council is chasing me." "I look forward to that as well."

"It would be amazing if your parents were alive, don't you think?" "Yes, and a bit of a shocker, too." "If they are, and you could meet them right now, what would you do or what would you say to them?" "Honestly? I don't know." "Why, aren't you excited at the thought of having them with you after all this time?"

"Well, I know this is going to sound terrible, but sometimes I'd rather think they're dead, than to think they abandoned me, and that being alive all these years, they never tried to contact me". "Well, no parent abandons a little kid just like that, maybe something happened that forced them to leave you, maybe it wasn't even their fault". "Maybe. But I find that hard to believe."

SVSSS works!

I have written two(!) things so far for this fandom. One is a one-shot PWP (which will become a bit of a series, but that's a whole 'nother thing), and the other is a multi-chaptered mammoth (compared to any of my other works) that I have about 40k written up and 14k posted so far. I'm actually super happy with these two, even if they're not technically perfect (as in grammatically or with sentence-structure). But I'm also not editing, which I probably should. I'm just not going to until it all exists and is out in the world.

Oh no problem!!!

So with WQW/MQF I haven't written all that much, but it's basically the ones from my SYoNR fic :D It's a oneshot of them meeting and getting together, and is kinda meant to not only explore my idea of their backgrounds but also to answer some questions people have had. Mostly about WQW's full body tattoos ;) What I've written, I'm not sure I'll keep, so that is all on that you get!

Ten Makes It Even is a classic Shen Twins AU, where SY is, as you have guessed, SJ's twin. I began to poke at it even before I started SYoNR, but I took the... child mind concept from there and used it in SYoNR. Here's a tiny peek!

Shen Yuan is four years old when he realizes something is wrong. 

He sits next to his twin where they have been idly drawing in the dirt as their mother bargains with customers at her stall of goods, knowing her children are safely tucked away behind her, doing what children did at their age. That is when he blinks and everything is startlingly clear.

He looks at his mother and knows while he is of her blood, it’s not the right mother. Her hair should be dark brown and curly, not black and straight. She is tall and willowy rather than short and steady, wearing rough, traditional clothes instead of jeans and high heels. 

Shen Yuan peeks past the stall, craning his head over his twin’s. The dirt road through the village is dusty, the houses ancient looking. 

There are no cars, only horses and carriages and a man sailing past on a sword that has his twin stare in fascination and makes Yuan deeply confused because swords can’t fly. Except they can, he knows that. But they shouldn’t be able to either and– 

Shen Yuan knows there’s a word for what is happening. It’s on the tip of his tongue.

He blinks, and giggles as his mind settles back down into that of a four year old. Hazy and happy and feeling utterly safe, tugging at his mother’s robes to beg for food. 

It’s too early for an adult mind in a child’s body.

THE END

Marked Red is an original story of mine, set in a fantasy world and there's kind of a hunger games vibe about getting the throne? That only a few "chosen at birth" can participate in. It's from the POV of Rowan, a hot tempered gay girl with super strength, who teams up with a bunch of other people (including Alma, her Big Crush of more noble standing) that all have various gifts and questionable motives.

Mostly the idea was that the plot only moves forward because they're all late teens/young adults making dumb decisions. I think I've been poking at the world building for... years??? I should actually write the story one day but I loooove world building <_< Here's a little peek!

The water was green and brown. It looked thicker than mud and twice as unhealthy, with mosquitoes and bloodflies buzzing above it. It was the kind of water that reminded Rowan of rotten wood and something pure toxic. "I dare one of you to touch it," Sivan said, effectively breaking the silence that had fallen upon them all as they stared.  "Touch that? It looks like poison," Alma protested, tucking her hands under her arms as if to further protect them from bug bites. She wore thick gloves; Rowan did not, and felt an intense flare of jealousy when another mosquito landed on her pinky. That had to be the millionth bug bite in the last hour. "I'm immune to poison," Nur said. "You're just a chicken," Sivan told Alma. "I'm not a-!" "I touched it," Nur said, knee deep in the swamp. An alligator burst out of the water, jaws missing Nur's head by an inch, and they all shrieked.

To heal the schism between the Faith and House Targaryen, it was vital that Jaehaerys be crowned by the High Septon in Oldtown. However, first Septon Moon and his rabble had to be dispersed so that Jaehaerys could safely travel to the city. Despite some urging, Jaehaerys was unwilling to use his dragons to resolve the issue. Lord Rogar then offered to raise an army to cross into the Reach, though the odds were not entirely in his favor given the size of Moon’s forces, which were composed not only of Poor Fellows, but also of knights and men-at-arms from the great houses Rowan and Oakheart. However, matters soon resolved themselves when an unknown woman approached Septon Moon’s tent with a flagon of wine and a request for his assistance. Not long after, she fled the tent and vanished. Shortly after, Septon Moon appeared, naked and drenched in blood, for his throat had been slit open. He staggered through the camp until he eventually collapsed and died. The wine in his tent was later discovered to have been poisoned as well.

"Anyway, it's complicated, so I'd rather not dwell on it", Robin concluded. "I have more important things to deal with right now, the DNA analysis for one thing."

"True, the analysis," Juliette murmured, becoming pensive. Her sudden silence was not lost to Robin.

"Jul? What's wrong, has your mother said anything to you?"

"No, nothing yet, but I also know a bit about genetics and…"

"And you've drawn your own conclusions about the 'unknown' DNA in me, is that it?"

"Well, I can't venture any theories without due testing, but…"

"You have a hint of what might be happening with me? Come on, Jul, talk to me, whatever it is I can handle it".

"I know you can, but if I tell you anything that comes to mind, I'd be just speculating. So I'll tell you only this: whatever is going on with your DNA, whatever you are, I don't care. I'll still love you whether you're a vampire, a werewolf or whatever." Juliette stated, Robin lost all his seriousness and held back a chuckle.

"A werewolf? Come on Jul," he grinned. Juliette blushed.

"I was just saying. It may sound silly, but it's the truth, I do love you and I'll never leave you, no matter what kind your DNA is."

"I love you too, dear. And it's not silly at all, in fact it's lovely, and a relief at the same time to hear that from you".

Yeah, it was certainly a relief, thing was she had mentioned all sorts of occult creatures, except for one. And luckily, she wasn't looking into his eyes now, how they had momentarily changed from their natural color to an eerie pitch black. He couldn't see them either but could feel every time it happened.

He quickly turned his back on her to prevent her from seeing his eyes while they slowly returned to their normal color.

"I wouldn't mind if you were an alien either," Juliette added, oblivious to his sudden distress.

"Really? Most people are terrified of aliens."

"Not me. And I'd still love you if you were one".

"That's… good to know," he muttered.

"But. why do you bring that up? Have you noticed anything about yourself that would indicate that you're alien?" She rushed to ask.

"I-I haven't noticed anything in particular," he answered.

"What about those 'powers' Dustin mentioned?"

"There are no such powers, Dust sure wasn't being serious."

"Dustin is imaginative, yes, but he wouldn't joke about something like this."

"Well, I still think it's best if we wait for the test results."

There was a discussion in the Discord server about what would happen if Shen Wei needed a substitute for the role of Heipaoshi and Jiajia stepped up to the plate. Many thanks to Rowan for the inspiration and starting this conversation. tehfanglyfish wrote a fantastic fic with this premise called The Tiniest Heipaoshi, also on AO3 (please go read it!).

The idea that came to me (which is in line with Negotiating Perspectives where Jiajia is rather a little sister to the twins) was:

Shen Wei is busy but someone needs to stand in for Heipaoshi. Ye Zun is the obvious choice, but he's not particularly keen (he doesn't WANT to be his brother, they've been through this!) So Jiajia's pulling on the robes, and it's like a little kid dressing up in something belonging to a parent or older sibling, then she starts flapping her arms with the sleeves hanging way down, while Ye Zun is holding the mask out to her and laughing. She puts on the mask and tries to look intimidating, and Ye Zun snaps more pics with his phone. He sends the pics to Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan asking if Jiajia can go in his place. Shen Wei isn't even mad.

So I drew that. And I'm using it for the "Alias" square on my @guardianbingo card and also for Ye Zun week!
