Then Allan and Zoe moved from words to action. Mind you, they were careful not to be too loud. They don’t want the kids to overhear them. (Muffled giggles sound).

Fortunately for them, Anika did get Zeke to fall asleep quickly. And Lukas is already resting in Morpheus’ arms too.

Kennedy had long since gone to bed, and Anika herself was dying of sleep, so she left the study for a later time and went to bed as well. That was one of the most peaceful nights for the Wilsons in their beloved Del Sol Valley home, when all was still peace and happiness for them. 🩷

Allan: Just what I wanted to hear. Well, no more waiting… Let’s get down to business.

Zoe: You think Anika will manage to get Zeke to sleep? Allan: I honestly doubt it, that’s why we gotta hurry. We may not have much time. Zoe: You’re absolutely right, we have to make the most of it. Allan: Oh, we’ll make the most of it for sure.

Allan: But first know this: I love you. Zoe: I love you too.

Zoe: Al? How did you get Zeke to sleep so fast? Allan: I didn’t. Anika was down there, she said she’d take care of him, and then she’d stay up and study. Zoe: Downstairs? Allan: Yes.

Allan: She also assured me that no one would disturb us so… What do you say? Are you ready?

Zoe: You’re kidding me? It’s been SO long that ‘ready’ doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Allan still can’t believe it, how long has it been since he and Zoe were able to have a time alone? Weeks? Months? Truth be told, he’s lost count. Maybe the same amount of time he hasn’t had a drink… How has he been able to endure this?

Zoe: Oops, hold on. Allan: What now. Zoe: Zeke’s still upstairs, he’s on his way down. Allan: Aw, no. Zoe: Oh, yes. Allan: Okay, I’ll go read him something quick. Catch you in ten, please don’t fall asleep, okay? Zoe: Fall asleep? Not a chance, baby.

Luckily for everyone, when Allan goes down to the boys’ room, Anika is there, and… Anika: Hi dad, don’t worry, I’ll take care of Zeke. Allan: Really? But what about you? Aren’t you… tired? Anika: I’m fine, I want to study a bit, so I’ll be here for him. You and mom can rest, no one will disturb you. Well, it looks like it’s Allan and Zoe’s lucky night 😉.

Just about an hour afterwards...

Allan: And? All asleep? Zoe: All of them. Allan: Zeke too? Zoe: I hope so.

Allan: So everyone went to bed early, huh? Zoe: Yep. For the first time in days. (*Winks*).

Allan: Oh, dear, this is like a miracle. Zoe: Yeah, we better get going, we don’t want Zeke to wake up. Allan: Your wish is my command, baby.

A few hours later...

Well, it’s evening already, the kids have finished their homework, had dinner and have gone to bed, the only thing left to do is to pick up the dishes.

Zeke kindly offered to wash them in order to help his parents. Zeke: Don’t worry, I got this!

Zoe: (From the hall). Zeke! It’s late honey, go to bed now, tomorrow is a school day! Zeke: Coming mom, this is the last one!

The afternoon continues to progress, Lukas has been pretty relaxed, he was even able to tackle some extra homework.

He still thinks about Lucas in the back of his mind, but he’s been so distracted by all the hype of his early graduation that he’s managed to almost forget about him, for now.

Kennedy: The usual, he’s busy with school. Anika: Typical... Don’t boys have fun anymore? Kennedy: I know! Since when did they become this boring? Anika: Since we girls took over the world, I guess! The two girls burst out laughing, unaware that Allan has just returned from the pool. Allan: Uhm...

Allan: Hi, girls, how’s that math going? Kennedy: Oops. Anika: Dad? I thought you were at the pool. Allan: And I thought you would be studying, sweetheart. Anika: Well, Math is so hard…

Anika: You know, I’d rather just go into acting. Allan: You will, in due time, but you gotta finish high school first. Anika: That’s a long way off. Could you talk to Mrs. Prescott, so she’ll let me graduate early, too? Allan: Mm, sorry, hon, I don’t have that much power, I’m just an actor not a mogul or a politician... Or both. Anika: Well, bummer.

Although, she doesn’t know if they will be able to use the dining room to study, since Allan is there now, hovering near the bar.

Allan: Oh, don’t mind me, I just came for a soda, but I’m going back to the pool right away, so I won’t interrupt you. Kennedy: Thanks, Dad. Anika: Thank you, Daddy.

Once Allan leaves for the pool, the girls do everything but study. Kennedy: I said: 'What the hell, O.? Where have you been?' He said he'd explain later via text message. Anika: And what was his explanation?

An hour later Kennedy is back. She has homework to do, but she took a nap before starting.

Anika is also back from her after-school class. Kennedy promised to help her with math, to see if Anika can graduate early with her and Lukas. Anika: Kenny, I’m home! Where are you? Oh, there you are.

That’s right, Kennedy just got up from her nap and is stretching in the living room...

The Wilson Home, Early Afternoon

Ok, the school day is over, Anika is heading to her Drama class.

Luka and Kennedy have to go to cheerleading practice, but she gets a snack first.

Lukas is in such a good mood that he entertains himself dancing while waiting for her.

Zoe is home from work and Allan is getting ready to spend the afternoon at the pool. Allan: Hey Zoe, are you up for a dip? Zoe: I’d love to, Al, but I’m starving and in need of a nap. Maybe I’ll catch up with you later. Allan: Okay.

As she wasn’t interested in any of the careers they were offering, Anika used her Career Day time to chat with Alex.

Alex: It's Career Day, have you decided on one yet? Anika: Well, I chose mine since I was a little girl, what about you? Alex: I am still not quite sure. I just know it will be something related to science or medicine. Yeah, Anika doesn't know how compatible her career and Alex's are, but somehow, they'll have to make it work. For now, she'll be happy if they can go to college together. If she ever goes to college.

Anyway, the exam is over, Anika did what she could and now she has to run to the Auditorium for Career Day, but first, a stop in the bathroom to let off some steam. Anika: Why do I need a Career Day? I already know what career to pursue, I’m going to be a super actress!

On Career Day the students are excused from afternoon classes to go to the auditorium for the event. There they’ll be able to ask the guest speakers for information about their future college careers, watch the presentations, and talk with their teachers about their future.

As we can see, not everyone is very enthusiastic about the idea. 😅

Mrs. Prescott didn't call Anika, though. Not that it seems strange to her, she hasn't been the best student this year, but still, it sucks.

She has to put in more effort if she wants to at least graduate with the rest of the group.

Which won’t be easy considering this is another test she didn’t study for. She wishes she hadn’t been goofing around and flirting with Alex instead of catching up on her math.

She wishes too she had sat next to Otto, so he could pass on the answers, but it’s too late to change seats now. Why is math so easy for Lucas and Kennedy, and not for her, just why?

Kennedy has also just been notified by Principal Prescott, that due to her top school performance, she will be able to graduate early. This is great news! Kennedy: Cool, if I graduate early, I’ll be able to take up singing right away.

Kennedy: I have to tell Orange right now. (Types).

Principal Prescott has been calling several students, including Kennedy and Lucas, to inform them that they will be graduating early...

Nika is off, so Otto is stuck with Lukas and his funny videos. Lucas: Wait till you see this video, it’s the funniest you’ll ever see. Otto: …

ABOUT AN HOUR LATER...

Anika: Aw, if I were a genius like Lucas, I'd also get all the attention from teachers, but the only attention I get is when they send my failing grades to my parents.

Anika: Hey, Kas, I thought you would be studying. Lucas: I’m caught up on all my homework, so I’m just playing a bit before class. Anika: Is that okay with you, Mr. Morlind? Mr. Morlind: Well, why not? Lucas got excellent grades this year. I was just telling him I’m going to recommend him to the principal so he can graduate early. Anika: Oh.

Something similar happens to Anika. Anika: Are you kidding me? I sent Alex several messages and he hasn’t seen any of them! Lukas: Girl, give him a chance, he’s probably just arriving at school. Anika: He leaves for school without checking his phone? Come on!

Otto: Don’t worry, Nika, I'm sure he’ll get back to you as soon as he arrives. Anika: You don’t know Alex, as soon as he walks into a classroom everything else disappears. Otto: Well, he’s a good student, that’s great, isn’t it? Nika: Yeah, well…

Anika: I wish I was as interested in school as Alex, but I just find it boring, a waste of time. If Dad wasn’t such a buzzkill, I’d already be working with him at Plumbob Studios by now.
