1) Who first brought up the option of marriage? Was it an easy topic?

Ron. He did a whole dramatic proposal and everything. But it felt very natural and expected by that point.

The vows were just very traditional stuff. Except that Ron also added in a bit about making sure Hermione would always have a library big enough to keep her books. (The books still end up in piles all over the house and they jokingly bicker for the next 20 years about whether this counts as him not keeping his promise). And Hermione absolutely cried.

Neither of them tear up but they both feel emotional. Their vows are very simple and standards - promises of love and loyalty and protection. But behind the words are the weight of so many years of struggle and hardship to get to this moment.

18) Did anyone oppose the marriage? Did they speak then, or did they just forever hold their peace?

Lots of people. But they weren't invited. Harry and Draco had already gone public with their relationship by that point tho (and gotten a surprising amount of people on their side which was kind of unexpected for both of them but entirely expected for anyone who understood the public's need for a dramatic love story) so it wasn't as dramatic as you might think. There were some snide opinion pieces for a while that made suggestions about love potions and blackmail or just speculated about how long till the "inevitable divorce." (By his 20th anniversary Draco finds these rather amusing).

20) Did anyone pass out from a food/alcohol coma?

Mundungus very unwisely tried to challenge Hagrid to a drinking contest. It did not go well. (It's the first time in years that anyone sees George really laugh).

it somehow makes so much more sense??? not only bc representation matters, but also the hate he got in his early life. harry grew up at the dursleys, in a middle class neighborhood in 1980 England. And all i'm trying to say with that is:

- harrys scar being way more different than in the movies/early book covers

i loooove the concept of harry having a scar like an actual lightning bolt. bc first, it would indicate, that surviving the (powerful) killing curse would take a huge toll on a body.

second, it would look like an actual wound that magic could achieve.

i googled 'lichtenberg scars', scares that people got from actually being struck by a lightning bolt (or super high electricity).

they dont look natural at all, which makes them so unique and special and would fit the only surviving person of the avada kedavra curse. it also would explain why people would always ask harry to see his scar and why they were so fascinated about it (i know they want to see it bc of voldie and shit, but i think you get my point).

and third, it would look badass as fuck ngl

- i love scars in general. especially harrys lightning scar, but also rons tentacle-like scars he got in book 5. or dracos sectumsempra scars. or hermiones 'mudblood' scar. generally, i love fanarts or fanfics where they are visible or depicted. and the characters having to live with and accepting them.

- i'm a sucker for drarry fics, where harry sees dracos scars that he caused for the first time, how shocked and embarrassed he is for causing so much harm. apologizing profusely for them and draco beeing slightly overwhelmed by harrys behavior. (if you have recommendations for such fics, pls tell me).

- i've once red a fic where draco and hermione modified the scar bellatrix left on her by changing the word mudblood into "my blood is magic". i got goosebumps reading this, bc it felt so empowering somehow. but i also like the thought of hermione leaving the word by how it is, to remind anyone out there, what she's been through and what a powerful badass witch you can become, even tho you dont have magical parents.

- harrys "you must not lie" scar is also one of my favorites and i LOVE when people include it in fanfics. especially when there's a debate about the corrupt and twisted power of the ministry and crazy ideologies and harry just slams his hand on the table and starts ARGUING, leaving everyone silent lol

- harry having another lightning scar on his body, this time over his heart, when voldemort attempted to kill him the second time in the forest.

- draco covering up his deatheater tattoo, by putting flowers over/around it, to symbolize he'd grown.

- magical tattoos. tattoos that move around your body. harry having fr a tiny dragon tattoo, which 'flys' around his skin.

- harry beeing way more powerful after the war. i mean, he's the master of death after all??? he took down the most powerful wizard of all time??? now he has a crazy magical aura around him. he can cast wandless magical more effortlessly. when he gets angry, he lets out accidental magic, messing with electricity, the wind etc.

- harry renovating the black house. him finally getting rid of walpurgas portrait and the other gruesome decoration. draco helping him, bc he's a black afterall and knows a few tricks and spells. also draco and harry researching and explaining magical houses. kreacher is helping them too. the black house getting warm and cozy, after all those years.

- draco and harry getting together and harry is showing him the perks of the muggle world. draco discovering television, electricity, planes, science in general (later smartphones, video games etc). him being FASCINATED about it, wanting to learn more and more. (what do you MEAN, muggles were ON THE MOON??? THEY CAN TRAVEL IN SPACE??? WTF POTTER?!) draco discovering what an atomic bomb is, having an existencial crisis about it (i can't believe muggles have more power than US? could we even STOP a bomb like this? surely you can , Potter 🙄)

- draco dragging his slytherin friends into the muggleworld.

- pansy being EXCITED to discover luxury brand like gucci, prada n shit. her wanting to study fashion and becoming a famous designer in the wizarding AND muggle world (muggles being like HAVE YOU SEEN PANSYS NEW DRESS?! IT LOOKS LIKE MAGIC FR)

- ginny becoming a famous quidditch star, always showing up at parties with the finest haute couture, showing off and promoting pansys newest designs (pansy loves her for it)

- blaise getting caught up too into the fashion/celebrity/influencer/gossip world. maybe becoming a famous art critique? or a journalist? him exposing people he dosnt like? love that shit fr

- goyle being fascinated about muggle sports, especially rugby and american football. him dragging draco, harry and ron into various matches and talking non stop about his favorite teams and players. harry finally convincing him to just do it himself. goyle actually doing it and having the time of his life.

- goyle dragging drarry to his first victory party with his teammates. harry, to his HORROR, seeing dudley again after all those years (what do you MEAN HARRY, BIG D IS YOUR COUSIN?!?)

- harry and dudley reconciling. i have many thoughts about this, but i really love the idea of a redemption arc for dudley. maybe dudley having a daughter, who is also a witch and him loving her with his whole heart and wanting to understand every problem and struggle she might face in the wizarding world. him cutting of contact with his father. visiting harry, notebook in hand, to remember every detail.

- harry never really told him about this, but after his daughter came home after her first year in hogwarts, he finally learns what harry had actually been through. him FLABBERGASTED when she handed him a book about the second great wizarding war, with a moving picture of harry on its cover (daddy, why have you never told me we are related to the savior? - the... WHAT????)

- Hermione becoming the minister of magic. FINALLY a competent witch, someone who's trying to make the world a better place (also harry backing her up, intimidating everyone who dares to be a bitch about it). a few things i think she would do:

- setting the elves free for real, giving them free healthcare, new jobs, an access to schools, housing etc. telling them about dobby and his story

- also, more freedom and rights for other magical beings, like merefolk, centaurs, goblins, giants and WEREWOLVES!!!

- giving elves and goblins wands???!!!

- a new school system where muggle studies is a MUST, bc how can you teach kids and NOT tell them of the rest of the non-magic world??? do they even know electricity? planes? science? how can you get rid of hate and stereotypes otherwise?

- teaching kids and adults how to dress in the muggle world lmao

- the more the people learn about science and shit, the more they could experiment? imagine a world where potions and chemistry would go hand-in-hand. wizards discovering what molecules and atoms are and researching like crazy. them learning how to incorporate technology with magic. (free wifi at hogwarts???) a fascinating concept for me.

- rita skeeter and dolores umbridge getting finally behind bars. I WANT JUSTICE

- Harry being an auror is cool, but after all he's been through, i can imagine he wouldnt want to be one for long. i think it would be so nice to become a teacher at hogwarts. defence against the dark powers would suit him sm. also, he could teach students something about unity, wizard and muggle relations, how to detect bigotry and propaganda, how to stand up for themselves etc

- draco becoming either a healer at st. mundos or a professor at hogwarts

- mcgonagall working hand-in-hand as head master with hermione, making hogwarts SAFE again

- draco having his trial after the battle of hogwarts. him being exhausted, ashamed, traumatized af. him not expecting and not wanting any mercy. the ministry also not wanting any mercy, bc fuck them deatheaters. them being astounded after harry waltzed into the court room, explaining that he, harry potter, will be dracos lawyer and DEMANDING him to be freed (who can say no to the savior)

- harry and his gang having fucking therapy after the war, please and thank you

- harry finally recognizing all the fucked up shit dumbledore has done to him and being ANGRY about it

Oooh lord you're bringing the hard questions! 🙈 Only hard because my initial response is "oh god no" which feels rude, oops 😅

1.) Why don’t you ship it?

I don't care for many M/F ships, and I also don't care for friends to lovers. Also: the vibe is wrong. Also: I just can't see it lasting as a romantic match. 😢 I think they clash too much. Ron is too family-oriented compared to Hermione being too much of a workaholic. Their values when it comes to what they want out of life and out of a partnership I don't think really align. Even if they had romantic attraction and made it to the altar, I just don't see it being forever. Not forever and happy, at least.

2.) What would have made you like it?

Uh...nothing, I think.

3.) Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

I love their friendship! They both have loyalty in spades, and bravery. Ron isn't afraid to stand up to Hermione and question her, which is good!

definitely hinny in the books but negative on romione in both versions. couldn't vibe with them too much, but i'm forever mourning the cool girl ginny we deserved in the movies

I feel Hermione 1 is Virgo because i really really really related to her back when i read HP when i was 11 and im double Virgo. I dont know about the age and expressions thing tho. I think Hermione 1 is Virgo rising, because i didnt act like a Virgo either in my tweens, as in i was loud and obnoxius af and cant be bothered with details. And an Aquarius rising isnt going to memorize everything from books. Regardless of other signs their memory is wack as kids and they HATE reciting books. Also, Ronmione still made sense as of book 1, 2 with him being much more extroverted than her. If she was always Aquarius all along then Ronmione is ruined forever and i DID feel it in book 1 and 2, i will not unsee it lol. 

Moreover, if shes always one and the same character, Rowling failed to develop her properly from the first to the second.

In her youth Rowling might have fancied her Ron friend and put that into Hermione and Ron, but if the friend was really anything like Ron, i am glad that Rowling never got her fantasy fullfilled with him. Because omg, Hermione 2 is BAD for Ron. All the weird ships and the unhealthy marriage arguments had its basis.

Which Hermione are you talking about?

i think when describing Hermione as book-smart, nerdy, introverted, fussy and socially awkward that only breaks SCHOOL rules for Harry’s adventures because she’s his friend, is also very insecure and kinda cute that Ron would love and would LOVE Ron, people are thinking of the Hermione from book 1 and 2. Typical Virgo girl - like very stereotype tumblr horoscope described Virgo. They cant think too far ahead or the big picture, but will perfect any details on their work for their friends and those who need them. They do think by the book, literally. Ron, with his emotional and social intelligence and his jest for life, would help her to be more openminded and relaxed with her perfectionism.

And when people are saying she’s this vindictive, extroverted, ambitious, unapologetic activist, that has a penchant for breaking BIGGER rules as in LAW and ORDER in the wizarding world with sudden social vision and influence, they are talking about the “Rowling” Hermione who existed in book 4 onwards. She’s an Aquarius rising and is NOT a good partner to Ron. Whatever Rowling intended with her, the book 1 and 2 is NOT the second Hermione aka Rowling and would turn out very differently from Rowling herself. And after book 3, it seems Rowling lost touch and connection on who’s really Hermione and who’s herself. That’s why the “breaK” of the 4th wall, of Hermione’s characterization, and the loss of Ron’s. And why it’s so hard to get a picture of her in fandom : whenever you have book quotes as Romonie evidence for Hermione 1, people would have theirs for Hermione 2. Again which is she?  What the hell would Ron/Hermione become? 

Hermione 1 cant be paired with Harry because she’s so…nerdy and closeminded and cant be paired with Malferret because he literally called her Mudblood. But who is us to say anything about Hermione 2, who used Umbridge’s method to punish people, who not only nagged (Virgo) but also can lie and can trick adults into submission with her so-much-bigger-than-Hogwarts-and-Dumbledore “big picture” rule breakings and also solved anyone’s romance problems (Aquarius) ? She would and can fix 100 Draco’s because he lied and tricked people out of Hogwarts scope too, just that he’s so much more coward and incompetent than her. Also Fred/Hermione, the intellectual business man/intellectual business woman ship itself and even Fred died because he’s still a character that has no meta powers. No wonder Snape/Hermione exists. Even he cant break the meta like Hermione 2.  

Compared to Ron/Hermione. Harry/Ginny is much more consistently written throghout the books and same for any other ship, because Rowling remembers that they are characters and not herself and her problems.

How she brewed Polyjuice Potion so they’d be able to interrogate Malfoy (and Ron himself, very justly, points out that this “a plan where so many things can go wrong”: they didn’t know the password, they almost got caught by Percy, Malfoy could’ve been doing his homework in his room).

But “Hermione 1″ IS extroverted, she’s bossy and nerdy and in-your-face, she knows stuff and isn’t afraid to tell you she knows, she’s not the kind of person that stays passive and lets herself get steamrolled (… unless the person steamrolling her is an authority figure).

The issue is that as Rowling went on, she started to prioritize both Harry and Hermione’s characters over Ron’s. Ron is constantly looked at in a “bit rubbish ain’t he?” fashion, almost patronizingly, a sort of “oh you’re so immature but there there you’ll grow up eventually, if you could hurry up tho that’d be great”.

Ron receives ZERO support from his friends as he goes around trying to figure out how this “growing up” thing works.

Harry and Hermione are meanwhile excused of everything bad they do, because “Harry’s got PTSD and such a difficult life”, and “oh well Hermione is so mature, she’s allowed to be impatient and annoyed with people who can’t keep up with her genius!! Plus they probably did something to deserve it anyway”.

What Hermione really needs is to be humbled. It could happen in many ways, some more cruel than others. Have her make a mistake that for fucking once has consequences on her personal life and fucks all her shit up. Have her need to accept defeat, to understand and internalize that it was no one’s fault but hers that it happened that way. Destroy the notion that “no but actually HERMIONE was the true victim-”.

The sad truth is, a lot of people want to be Hermione - “Hermione 2″. The girl who always turns out to be technically right, who puts the fear of God into those who offend her, who is such a key player in Harry’s story, whom a Quidditch superstar would date, who constantly gets told how brilliant and clever she is but can also look so pretty but doesn’t because “she’s smarter than wanting to be pretty”… who would refuse to be such a girl? Especially if you idealize her so much that you forget she’s not supposed to be nice, approachable, unfailingly kind and all that crap (which is the image of Hermione we got thanks to the fucking movies).

I do enjoy the idea of Hermione being this feral gremlin that loves her friends and would set the world on fire for their sake - but a thing that happens starting from GOF onward is Hermione setting the world on fire more for her own sake than for her friends’. See how it’s only once Rita Skeeter made an article about her, Krum and Harry that Hermione goes truly on the warpath when at first she kinda was like “ugh people are so dumb to believe her”. How Rita Skeeter in OOTP is identified as “one of Hermione’s least favourite people in the world” when it’s Harry who was the most preyed on by Rita. See how Hermione Confunds McLaggen in HBP so Ron can join the Quidditch team (and so Hermione can feel like Ron “owes” her something). And of course see her wiping her parents’ memories and beating Ron up when he’s back…

The problem is that JKR thinks abuse, if done by a woman, is badass.

Romione Head-canons

— SLEEP EDITION —

- Ron Weasley loves to cuddle at night. Whether he had a good day or a bad day, his favorite thing is to pull Hermione close to his chest and sleep with his face either in her hair or her chest (he’s not sure which one he enjoys the most)

- Hermione, on the other hand, hates it. Don’t get her wrong, she loves being held by him, but she can’t sleep when he’s on top of her. Ron is a human furnace and every night she has to carefully peel herself away from him.

- One thing that Hermione does love though, is holding Ron’s hand. They find it to be a happy medium during the summer time. Sometimes in the morning, they’re still clutching hands.

- In the winter months all best are off. She takes full advantage of his body heat.

- Ron doesn’t snore, but he occasionally talks in his sleep. Mostly unintelligible nothings, but sometimes he just whispers Hermione’s name.

- However, Hermione does (although she swears she’s never snored in her life).

- Ron finds it endearing and learns to love the sound. Eventually, he needs it in order to fall asleep. On long missions, he finds it hard to fall asleep without the gentle sounds lulling him sleep.

- Although Ron is larger, Hermione takes up the majority of the bed. She enjoys star-fishing so much that Ron falls off the bed more than once. (After the 8th time, they buy a larger mattress).

- Usually, Hermione wakes first. She’s always naturally been a morning person and loves to lie there in bed next to Ron’s sleeping form counting every freckle she can find.

- On the rare occasions when Ron wakes up first, he chuckles at the woman beside him. Hermione Granger, ever so prim and proper in her everyday life, but oh if only they knew how horribly she slept. He loves this woman to the core of his being so not even crazy hair, drool on pillowcases, bed-hogging, or snoring could ever change the way he feels about her.

- In fact, Ron thinks those early morning moments may be some of his favorites. Hermione never lets her guard down. She’s always put together even if she doesn’t want to be. But she trusts him enough to allow herself to be completely relaxed around him. Ron is the only person who ever gets to see Hermione Granger completely and utterly undone. He reckons he’s the luckiest bloke in the world for that.
