It was Ron’s 19th birthday. It was his first one since the war and he wasn’t very excited. As he got older he started enjoying other’s birthdays much more than his. He woke up and noticed Hermione wasn’t there. He went downstairs and heard laughs coming from the kitchen. He walked in and saw Harry and Ginny laughing and the kitchen table as Hermione struggles to cake an oozing pan out of the oven. The cake looked monstrous. Ron loved it. He smiled as Hermione put the pan on the counter, hugged Ron, and quietly said “Happy Birthday. The cake didn’t turn out great” Ron just laughed and said “ I love it”

There was a clatter as the basilisk fangs cascaded out of Hermione’s arms. Running at Ron, she flung them around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron threw away the fangs and broomstick he was holding and responded with such enthusiasm that he lifted Hermione off her feet.

“Is this the moment?” Harry asked weakly, and when nothing happened except that Ron and Hermione gripped each other still more firmly and swayed on the spot, he raised his voice. “OI! There’s a war going on here!”
