Sybille stomps through the garden, a basket on one arm as she marches down the trail she’s long since memorized. Unfortunately, she’s not exactly thinking very much, simply needing to move as she huffs and puffs, the five fox spirits dancing between her long strides and between the rows and rows of flowers, on and off the trail. They tackle each other, giving shrill yips that echo more than they should, rolling and jumping, their own feelings heightened to match her own. She pays them little mind, the wisps of them tangling along her ankles.

She stops abruptly, pulling out the trimmers and snipping a few flowers to let them fall in her basket, the red of their petals feeling like an understanding balm. She has no plan for the arrangement she collects them for, a bit unfair to the pretty plants, but walks on to collect more. It still doesn’t feel right, or finished, and she’s willing to pretend she means the basket. At least, until she turns and reaches the fountain, to find you there. You stand there, eyes wide, a sad furrow to your brows, and she tightens her hold on the basket as it reaches you. ��Dearest?” she says, the foxes bounding forward to run between the two of you and around the fountain.

You stand up straighter, almost give a one shoulder shrug. “When you- I had thought you’d left, is all.”

Sybille blinks, frowning as a hand lands on her hip. For a moment, defensive, before forcing her shoulders to lower and huff. “It was not my most graceful moment, leaving in an angry passion.” She had ruined so much, in her life, with words. Or perhaps with her selfishness, or ambition. Different people always had different reasons on why she was too much, on what she did wrong. Most of them did not matter. “I was not, however, running. Not from you.” She crosses the distance, to stand before you. “That I led you to believe otherwise is further testament that I am not experienced in this.”

You shake your head. “I simply jumped to conclusions.”

“No- no. I want to do better, my love.” Sybille reaches forward for your hand, heart leaping in relief as her fingers tangle with yours. “I want you, and this.” She gives your fingers squeezing.

You smile then, squeezing back. “That is very reassuring, Vixen.”

“Indeed. We both know I am very dedicated to things I want.” You tug her forward and she follows easily, setting the basket down. “Not that I do not still think I am right, of course.”

You snort, eyes narrowing. “Of course.”

“But, we can deal with that later.” She accepts this, your arms around her waist as she rest hers over your shoulders. The argument can wait, a moment. There will be a better time for it, and hopefully, you understand. And if you don’t? That’s fine. She’ll work harder to make sure you do. That you’re it. She’s saving her last dance for you.

i have finished another classic and as i know you all nEED my reviews because i am so smart and literate and eloquent frfr here is my review of the picture of dorian gray:

faust fanfiction. a good one, one of those that is better than the original for sure but while reading i was so heavily reminded of faust!! the characters?? the topic of youth? and pleasure? and morality? and corruption? i see you mr oscar wilde, a homosexual 🫡. dorian gray is the OG material gwurl and the most dramatic bitch i’ve ever read a 200 page book about. also?? him kissing his own portrait before smooching lord henry? just proves that homophobia is real and internalised homophobia was the rEAL REASON dorian turned so evil and rotten </3 and i will dIE on that hill. he could have just fucked henry and gotten it over with but nooo he had to spend every other night with him going to dinner…or the opera, just yearning pitifully after him and unable to let him go. truly heartbreaking. </3 internalised homophobia is the rEAL villain of this story.

Ro's Treatise on Makishima Shogo

I have been into Psycho-Pass for about ten years now. It is the second or third anime i ever watched and it has had a vise grip on me since. I rewatched the first season a countless number of times before finally biting the bullet and watching the rest. I am rewatching the first season again. From the beginning, I have never liked Makishima Shogo.

Preface: I historically do not like villains. They can be the most interesting character ever but I'm like "they do bad things so they suck and I don't like them." No hate to people who do like them, I have just never really been one of them.

I have never been involved with a media that loves its villain as much as people who watch Psycho-Pass love Makishima Shogo and it makes me crazy! I think for a lot of people watching Psycho-Pass, Makishima represents a character type that we don't see often in media: guy who challenges the status quo in the same way we as the audience do. Many of the people I talk to about Psycho-Pass cite Makishima as their favorite villain because he’s “right,” or because he’s “challenging the system.” Or to cite myself from a few years ago, “All the dudebros are like ‘he thinks so deeply about society and really questions it’ and I'm like dude that's everyone in Psycho-Pass, including you, the viewer of Psycho-Pass.”

Because the fact of the matter is, Makishima’s not right about anything.

Sure, Makishima observes and acts upon the depravity of Japan's society under the Sibyl System, and makes active attempts to undermine it. Ederlyn Peralta of CBR states, “[Makishima] has a vision of how the world should be, making him an appealing character to viewers.” However, I think a more accurate assessment is that Makishima has an idea of what the world should not be. He does not work to undermine the Sybil System for the good of common people. He does it in a self-serving manner to prove that he is right and society is wrong. He wants to watch the world burn and not do anything about what happens after it. He has no plans to protect the people in said society after the upheaval, evidenced by the fact that his goals are to get people to kill each other, and then starve the country by destroying its primary food source. He sees the members of Japanese society as worthless sheep unworthy of his protection.

And we see what happens to people once he decides they are no longer worthy of his protection or involvement! During the Spooky Boogie case, we see Makishima immediately discard Masatake Mido after he deems him uninteresting. The same thing happens to Rikako Ouryou. He discards people in the same way the Sibyl System does. Once they no longer serve his purposes or prove a liability to him, he gets rid of them. He is judge and jury and proxy (if not actual) executioner, just like the Sibyl System.

And yet I'm supposed to believe he's got something right?

I think this would be less infuriating if Makishima was the only member of the cast criticizing the Sibyl System. However, as I stated before, everyone is criticizing the system! The entire show exists as a criticism of the Sibyl System! Kogami hates it, Akane has made it her life mission to question and critique it, every cast member that we get to talk to for more than a few minutes has their critique of the System. And these are people who work directly in service of it! So I cannot find it within myself to stand with Makishima's thoughts and declare him right in any matter.

Akane has a beautiful line in episode 20 where she says that anyone can decide they want to look for happiness anytime they want, as long as they are alive. Makishima has given up on the promise of human potential in the same way, and has decided unilaterally who he thinks is capable of pursuing higher thought. But that's not his decision to make.

TLDR: Makishima Shogo makes my blood boil and I am tired of him. Good riddance.

Actually, you know what's kinda funny about the waltzes you mentioned?

I was part of a very recent performance with my uni's orchestra where we played a waltz medley arranged by one of our members that included Waltz of the Flowers, Voices of Spring, and The Second Waltz 😄 I was going to include those too, but I thought that Waltz of the Flowers would fit the romantic vibes I had assumed you were going for better than Voices of Spring and The Second Waltz, since Voices of Spring is much livelier and Second Waltz sounds more serious than romantic since it's in a minor key 😅

But I can imagine something like this:

cas: can't resist looking back. he simply doesn't have the capacity to trust that everything will go according to plan. nothing ever goes according to plan in his life. self-fulfilling prophecy in this case

clem: either holds the titan's hand or keeps up a steady stream of conversation to ensure that they're still there, but doesn't look back. they're shaking a little when they both make it out

mels: chatters the whole time to reassure themself, but is too eager and ends up looking back just before they both cross the threshold

penelope: maintains a tense silence the whole time and grits her teeth through it. even once both she and the titan make it, she keeps her back to them until the titan says something. just in case

sybille: also talks to keep track of the titan's whereabouts, but tries to turn it into more of a game to keep things light. almost looks back more than once, but has just enough willpower to resist. reaches back to grab the titan's hand or shoulder just as she crosses as if she thinks she'll have to physically drag them out with her

Codename: Hummingbird 

 She was born the niece of the Queen of the Autumn Court. A position with prestige but little power. Her mother has always navigated the Courts and the fickle nature of fae well, using her own wiles and ways. Sybille is her beloved child, adored and fawned over. She can do no wrong, so long as she listens to mother. She was sheltered, a darling adored child to be looked at and admired.

 It was Sybille, however that pushed to leave the Courts. A desperate push and want. Surprising perhaps herself the most, Sybille has done well. She is a talented Handler, given some of the best performing Colossus and with some of the highest numbers. 

Personality: Sybille was a child seen, not heard. She has spent most of her life listening to her mother. Mother always knew best and always had an answer. She is to be a prertty spouse, not a matriarch. She is not one for confrontation and is very shy. Polite and even a bit charming when spoken to, as she was taught and practiced even. Stresses and becomes anxious easily, but she is an optimist at heart. 

Appearance: As a fae she is daintier than other species, at 5'0 | 152 cm. Her straight hair, a warm ruddy dark brown that turns a golden yellow at the ends, is always styled and her outfits always fashionable. Her skin is olive, pretty face accenutated by a single beauty mark under her warm cognac brown eyes, and like all fae has the glowing runes. Her's, a warm yellow, along her forehead, eyes, and along her shoulders and hips. She has 4 brown and gold wings, often left as a shimmer than fully formed, shaped like dragonfly wings.

Friendship Headcanon - Cora and Rosamund

In the early days of Cora’s marriage, Rosamund was one of her closest confidants. It seemed to amuse Rosamund that Cora irritated Violet, so she went out of her way to befriend Cora. The friendship deepened, however, because there was an edge to Cora’s humor that Rosamund really appreciated. It was also nice to have a partner in tormenting Robert, although Cora’s habit of teasing Robert out of his bad mood with physical affection was less fun for Ros.

The relationship changed when Cora became a mother. It didn’t lessen, but Cora knew all to well Rosamund’s longing for children and she couldn’t help the guilt she felt when she had not one but two babies very close together. Rosamund pulled away somewhat, knowing that her own anger and despair would leak onto Cora and she did not want to burden her friend. Especially since Cora seemed defeated by her own lack of a son. Cora herself was delighted with daughters, but Violet and Patrick were unimpressed and both Cora and Rosamund commiserated over being the familial disappointments. (Robert would strike out at Rosamund about her lack of children, especially when she was meddling, but Cora would not.)

Life embittered Rosamund when she lost Marmaduke, and she withdrew even further from Cora. Although all her life, Rosamund would be the person Cora confided in most besides Robert. And for alll the history between them, they never betrayed those confidences. Not when Cora confessed to Rosamund that she thought Robert had strayed. Not when Rosamund stormily defended Robert in the wake of Sybil, then desperately pled her case over Edith and Marigold. Not when Rosamund cheekily encouraged Cora to see the “Bricker fellow” so that Robert felt the sting of competition nor her echoing laughter when Cora regaled the mortifying brawl in her bedroom.

It’s at Violet’s funeral that they reconnect most deeply again, when they find themselves in a corner and some sharp remembrance of Violet tickles them both so. The laughter bubbles between them, helpless and contagious and Robert’s stormy face, red with rage turns on them, they cannot help but revisit their past, mere girls in that room, Violet my arching brow willing them to silence.

Their love language is more so acts of service so although they aren't one for fluffy words, they'll express their love in other ways— it's going to be a steep learning curve for them even so 😔Meanwhile Eris unapologetically just does what they want. You're also spot on with Calder, oftentimes in real life, you don't get to see the red flags until you're already down the rabbit hole and then you open up the closet and the skeleton falls out 💀 His route will definitely be a bit of a rollercoaster in that aspect but being Eris' right-hand man would probably mentally traumatize anyone. Sybil doesn't even know how it feels to be jealous, but once she sees Valentina and Luis, she gets a bit jealous, but is too proud to say it out loud. If Valentina and Luis interact more, she'd let it be. They don't have to be 24/7 together. She'd def comment how they spend time together and if she can know what they're up to

Vincent would smile and watch her for a while before kissing her temple and whispering 'I hope you enjoy my clothes'. He finds it adorable, and wouldn't mind at all if one jacket went missing.
