Sybille stomps through the garden, a basket on one arm as she marches down the trail she’s long since memorized. Unfortunately, she’s not exactly thinking very much, simply needing to move as she huffs and puffs, the five fox spirits dancing between her long strides and between the rows and rows of flowers, on and off the trail. They tackle each other, giving shrill yips that echo more than they should, rolling and jumping, their own feelings heightened to match her own. She pays them little mind, the wisps of them tangling along her ankles.

She stops abruptly, pulling out the trimmers and snipping a few flowers to let them fall in her basket, the red of their petals feeling like an understanding balm. She has no plan for the arrangement she collects them for, a bit unfair to the pretty plants, but walks on to collect more. It still doesn’t feel right, or finished, and she’s willing to pretend she means the basket. At least, until she turns and reaches the fountain, to find you there. You stand there, eyes wide, a sad furrow to your brows, and she tightens her hold on the basket as it reaches you. “Dearest?” she says, the foxes bounding forward to run between the two of you and around the fountain.

You stand up straighter, almost give a one shoulder shrug. “When you- I had thought you’d left, is all.”

Sybille blinks, frowning as a hand lands on her hip. For a moment, defensive, before forcing her shoulders to lower and huff. “It was not my most graceful moment, leaving in an angry passion.” She had ruined so much, in her life, with words. Or perhaps with her selfishness, or ambition. Different people always had different reasons on why she was too much, on what she did wrong. Most of them did not matter. “I was not, however, running. Not from you.” She crosses the distance, to stand before you. “That I led you to believe otherwise is further testament that I am not experienced in this.”

You shake your head. “I simply jumped to conclusions.”

“No- no. I want to do better, my love.” Sybille reaches forward for your hand, heart leaping in relief as her fingers tangle with yours. “I want you, and this.” She gives your fingers squeezing.

You smile then, squeezing back. “That is very reassuring, Vixen.”

“Indeed. We both know I am very dedicated to things I want.” You tug her forward and she follows easily, setting the basket down. “Not that I do not still think I am right, of course.”

You snort, eyes narrowing. “Of course.”

“But, we can deal with that later.” She accepts this, your arms around her waist as she rest hers over your shoulders. The argument can wait, a moment. There will be a better time for it, and hopefully, you understand. And if you don’t? That’s fine. She’ll work harder to make sure you do. That you’re it. She’s saving her last dance for you.

Remember when I pitched the concept of Chuuya developing a fear of lightning/electricity after the events of Storm Bringer and the Dragon's Head Conflict?

Thunder doesn't bother him, he deals with loud noises on the daily. No, it's the lightning itself that gets to him.

So obviously the solution is to close his eyes and wait for the storm to pass while berating himself because he should be better than this.

NOT TO EVEN MENTION the giddy joy i had upon recieving my john print and doodle (which resides in my phone case so i can look at him and recieve my daily dose of seratonin) and the silly little sticker (which resides on my laptop which is where i'm currently writing this epic of an ask). i was quite literally jumping up and down and squealing from how much joy it brought me. also, every time i see you've posted new art i go careening into the tags to write a fucking essay on how much i love it. your style is just so. it's so. i don't even have anything to properly say bc lee said most of it!!!!

anyway. point here is. you are an incredible artist and i love your work so so so much please keep making it

short comic i made today. its rushed and short and soooo badly paced(too fast) and the dialogue is awkward and stilted as hell but whateverrrr i wanted to draw these two fuckers interacting. this takes place like a year into zora n bud knowing each other btw

zora and buddy made a deal when they first met: zora wouldnt rat them n the other clones out to BoM in exchange for bud not telling zoras family about the Faking Her Death To Join The Enemy thing bc shes scared them knowing would ruin any chance of her having a relationship w em ever again (the story zora gave em is that she got captured by the rebels and spent all that time in some prison and only recently got released, or somethin like that i havent actually thought this part out yet lol)(whether or not znahor and een believe her is another thing entirely tho).

so theyve got this weird relationship that started out as 'mutually assured destruction limbo' and slowly turned into 'begrudging respect and trust bc we share the same burden'. theyre not besties or anything but theres An Understanding of some sort there.

also bc of The Deal they both feel like theyre living on borrowed time, just waiting for their lies to come crashing down (and for the 'Just Punishment both of them deserve for being horrible selfish traitors' to be served) (and at this point zora wouldnt be able to sell the clones out even if she wanted to bc no matter what she still DID help them hide for a year at least so its over for her either way. she betrayed the organisation shed devoted her entire adult life to already, might as well post pone the inevitable a little bit)
