Introducing A New RO

They are temporarily filling in as a stable hand for the royal palace, in place of their father who recently fell sick. Not really popular among their peers as they're fully unfit for the job and frequently make mistakes, even the horses seem to dislike them. But they don't really take it to heart. Incredibly grateful to still hold the job, they are trying their best and are very eager to please, even if that means shameless and equally meaningless flirting. Despite the effort, they very much stick out like a sore thump even among other workers, nevermind the nobles and royals. It's ok though, they don't mind being the butt of the joke now and again. Same age as Birbal.

The most important thing to Ros is being useful to others. She needs to be needed more than anything, and she will give her entire being in pursuit of this singular goal. She's also an emotionally driven person, which means that appeals to logic simply do not work on her. This is how you ended up with a Ros who is regularly offering up her life to others. She certainly has good reason to view her life as acceptable collateral to get things done; her twice over death is what finally got Clown to duel Pili, after all. If she thinks the best way to be useful to Bad is to let him kill her, then she will gladly allow it. Aimsey and Bad deal with the consequences of her mindset the most frequently because they often play devil's advocate with her belief system, but they rely on logic based arguments when they do. You cannot appeal to logic with someone who thinks with their heart. The reason Clown can convince her in a single afternoon what neither Aimsey nor Bad can over a period of weeks is because he appeals to her emotions. 

The key is not just giving her tasks to do, but to make her believe she is the only one who can fulfill those duties. You can't point to the castle alone as a reason she is needed when Bad has built a cathedral double the size of it twenty chunks away. However if you give her a task in secret, well now she's the only person who can complete that task, isn't she? Clown can't ask someone else to help him train if the only person he trusts with the task is Ros. Now she has to stay alive to help him train, because there isn't anyone else that can do it. And if you found a secret society alongside her...

What's interesting about the League of Secret Alchemists and the way it functions to give Ros reasons to live is that it isn't just Clown and his similarly emotion based reasoning that works. Sneeg also effectively communicates his need for her to live, despite being a more logic based individual. He does this by utilizing emotionally charged language to make logic based points. Above all else, Ros cares about the Kingdom, but you can't convince her of her importance by telling her the castle she built is the most significant symbol of the Kingdom. Instead you tell her that she IS the Kingdom. Now there's an association in her head that harm done to her is harm done to the Kingdom itself.

When she helps him in some way with one of his projects he praises her in an over-exaggerated way that resonates with her (calling her "my hero" for having amethyst on hand for the calibrated sensors). And because Sneeg is such an intensely private person, by drawing her into the fold of who gets to know about it and help him with it, he is making her an integral part of the process, irreplaceable to him and thus to herself as well. It's so effective he can even do this with projects that are primarily about protecting her without it triggering her guilt complex. In his desire to contribute to the Kingdom—synonymous, in Sneeg's mind, with Ros—he is giving her another way to feel needed by her closest companions.

Fanfiction is so goated actually

No monetary incentive, just writing in one's free time. Some incentive for like kudos and comments, because who doesn't want to hear that someone else enjoyed what they wrote. Just writing a story that is good and/or enjoyable, no real-life pressure to keep it going because god forbid you and other people are depending on it financially.

Writing a story because you want to write a good story, so you can write what they want the way you want, at a pace that is realistic for you, with exactly the plot pacing you want there to be.

Referring to my last ask:

Roman doesn't learn his lesson and the next time something happens, Remus is locked in his room, incredibly focused on a project so much that he doesn't think to bug Virgil. Virgil understands this and is fine with some space. Roman is not.

The prince hangs out with Virgil, and asks about Remus and how things are going. He's not slick. He keeps getting in Virgil's bubble and pressing for details, and suggesting all these romantic gestures Remus should be doing for him. And poor Virgil gets the wrong idea.

He awkwardly tells Roman that he and Remus are "disgustingly and carnally intertwined with each other" and he can only see Roman as a friend, so there's no good reason to sabotage them.

The offended princey noises he lets out are legendary. Roman would never stoop so low—who does Virgil take him for? Janus? (and I'm sure there's some distant hissing because of that) Unbelievable! Roman doesn't want his own fairytale romance, he wants to observe and foster it for others! He is a noble prince, dammit, and he will not sit around when love is on the line!!

And a very disgruntled Virgil has to explain (possibly with a lot of venom and no patience) that this is no fairytale, he and Remus are allowed to have personal space from each other, and Roman doesn't have to get involved and assume the worst (that's Virgil's job) If they want his help they'll ask.

And Roman gets the message.

"You know.. you don't have to do this every time.." Vee sighed as she stood, every part of her fully exposed as she stood "naked" in front of her beloved wife, Shelly. The ammonite girl just hummed with a smile as she continued wiping Vee's parts to keep them shining and new again. It was something that happens after Vee's limbs would be oiled so she would move around smoothly again, but the smell and any oil left behind might cause problems.

Normally, it was Vee sitting down to do those herself but after Shelly volunteered constantly for it, it had became a new thing for the love birds. Not only it got the job done way easier and faster but Shelly genuinely seemed to enjoy doing it as well. Her hands were careful and smooth as she knew exactly what she was doing, especially after having it done so many times to Vee. Whenever Shelly tended to her so lovingly like this, Vee's system hummed louder.

"I want to, love. I also want to be here to help you with anything." Shelly smiled sweetly as she focused on wiping Vee's arm now, the towel leaving behind a pleasant smell on Vee's metal and wires as well as making it look new and shiny too. Vee's eyes lingered on the part she just cleaned for a second longer before watching Shelly's hands move to the next part, her antennas going a bit up and down as she observed. Even if she was at her most vulnerable, Shelly treated her like glass, like she was the most precious thing in the world.

Vee wished she could do the same things for Shelly as well, like helping washing her or anything similar like that. She has been working on parts to attach to herself.. maybe she should focus on those fully again. Maybe a full waterproof glove or clothes so water would never be a threat to her, she would be able to do the same thing for Shelly then. She did have soft parts she attaches to herself after being fully wiped but she still has metal and wires exposed here and there. So much to think about..

"Hey.. everything okay, Vee?" Shelly said softly as she rested a hand on Vee's side of the head, making the robot wife flinch a little before she looked back at Shelly again, nodding. She couldn't help but make eye contact with her lover as Shelly giggled and blushed, making Vee's screen also start heating up as she blushed too. Vee rested her hand on the arm Shelly was cupping Vee's side of the head gently and Shelly's tail wagged behind her. Vee's antenna's moved up as her tail behind her also moved side to side slowly, a bit crumbled too as she felt flustered.

"Yeah, I'm just thinking.. also your hand is.. warm and soft. It's nice." Vee looked away as she blushed more and Shelly's tail wagged as she also felt more shy, giggling at Vee's cuteness. Even if Vee had said something similar before, Shelly adored hearing all about it. Vee might not be the best at compliments but her ammonite wife could always tell that Vee means what she says, it's really touching. A comforting silence soon followed as Shelly continued wiping everything else and now the last part, Vee's head. She loved leaving it for last so she could admire Vee's pretty face closely, even if it got Vee to overheat quickly. Though it would also be because Vee's antenna's were sensitive and she wants to leave them last.

"You're so pretty.." Shelly smiled wider as she cupped the other side of Vee's head with the towel she was wiping her with and Vee leaned on Shelly's hand now, closing her eyes for a second as she used her other hand to rest it on Shelly's other arm now, gently gripping the warmth from there. Shelly's compliments always hit Vee deeply even if Vee herself didn't always show it, she didn't have to, actually, Shelly would read her very well now. Shelly used her thumb to lovingly rub Vee's cheek before leaning up as her tail wagged faster and kissing Vee, making Vee's eyes widen a bit before melting into the kiss. When they pulled away, Vee smiled at her precious lover as her expression softened. They loved each other and couldn't be happier together like this.

Raquiya enjoys and is great at a lot of artistic things but no longer indulges in any of them because she takes her duties and position as an Empress more seriously.

Mahira is great at chess, but she's afraid to ask anyone else to play with her, except for her handmaid, who is a complete novice.

Arslan doesn't necessarily enjoy it but he has picked up sword-fighting. He also has a secret poetry book, though your fate is sealed if you ever find it.

N's favorite past time is archary and just walking around alone in a nearby forrest.
