Vethna Mevnrael (they/them) Appearance: 5’9, skin the color of bronze with long wavy hair that’s only a few shades darker than their skin. Their eyes are a greyed-out blue-green and glow in the darkness due to magic. They wear a deep v-neck black gown with golden embroidery, an outrageous amount of rings and jewelry, and their signature wine-red lipstick. Background: Vethna hails from Vygrand-- otherwise known as the sworn rival land of your home country. Where you have been raised to resent most, if not all magic, they have been raised to thrive on it. You don't know much about them-- just that they're on the run from someone, something, powerful, and you're the only one who can protect them. That, and they have a whole lot of gold... almost as much as they have secrets.

Nikke Ivante (he/him) Appearance: 6’0, pale green skin and covered in iridescent scales. Purple bags sit under his pale green eyes, which, like all mythosi, glow in the darkness. Wears smudged black kohl across his eyes. His hair is long, half shaved, and braided, mostly black with streaks of white. His tongue is forked and his sharp fangs often protrude from out past his lips. His arms are covered in tattoos of snakes winding downwards, and on his neck sit geometric tattoos. Background: Nikke has been sent to kill you or kidnap you-- you're not entirely sure which it is, and you don't intend to find out. He's crude and sarcastic and overall a brute. He doesn't seem to take his own life seriously, nonetheless yours, and you have no doubt he's going to capture you or die trying. Hell-- maybe he'll just kill you both while he's at it... you know, for fun.

Jost Ivante (she/her) (Not romanceable in demo yet) Appearance: 6’0 with pale green skin and iridescent scales. Her features are sharp and she has multiple piercings, the most notable being her bridge piercing and snake-bites. She has tattoos down her arms and on her neck in geometric patterns. Her hair is waist-length and slicked back and filled with braids and tokens, and just like her brother, is streaked with white. While she wears dark paint over her eyes, it’s done in a manner much neater than Nikke’s. Background: Jost is Nikke's identical twin sister-- and, if possible, she's twice as mean and just as rude. She's more ruthless than her brother, but she doesn't quite have the fighting power to back up her venom-laced threats and taunts. Nonetheless, she fights dirty, and if you want to beat her, you're going to have to be smart.

Amilia Von Clamile (she/her) Appearance: 5’3 with snow white skin and blood red hair that’s poorly cut and uneven, coming to her chin on one shoulder and sitting well past her collarbone on the other. Her eyes are green and her face is covered in freckles. A deep scar juts into her lip on the right side of her face and runs down her jaw and neck. Background: Amilia's a fae-- the very kind of mythosi you've been raised to fear and have spent most of your life killing. She's all smiles and nerves, but you see something else in her eyes, sometimes. Something cold. Something calculative. Everyone seems keen to turn a blind eye to her, but you know a liar when you see one... don't you?

Syfyn Javall (she/her) Appearance: 5’11 with warm toned skin that’s often burnt red, leaving splotchy tans along her body. Her eyes are a steely grey, hair blonde and cut to barely brush against her shoulders. She tries to often wear it up despite this, resulting in most of the hair falling out messily. She's covered in scars with feathers in her hair, and her pupils are slits. Her teeth are all mostly sharp. Background: Syfyn Javall, The Brazen Griffin, Second-in-Command to the Plaithian Army. She used to work beneath you once-- used to fight beside you and honor you both as a comrade and friend. You grew up together within the military. When you had nobody, you had each other. But then you betrayed her-- or maybe she betrayed you. You don't know who started what, but you do know that the blood is on both of your hands now.

Sabir Du Vaelas (he/him) Appearance: 6’1 with dark, cool toned skin, black eyes, and long black hair kept in locs. He wears expensive robes that are a deep teal and is covered head to toe in expensive silver jewelry, most of which is covered in snake symbolism. Sabir's ears are pierced in several areas, and he tends to wear silver eyeliner and highlight. Background: Sabir, otherwise known as The Silven Viper, Eye of Plaithus, used to be your charge. He's a politician-- one of the better ones, if such a thing exists. Your past together was volatile-- perhaps you were lovers, or friends, or enemies. Either way, he saved your life when you otherwise would've been put to death by the state, and you owe him thanks for that much.

Freedom (gender selectable) Appearance: 6′0 with pallid, paper-white skin and bronze eyes that appear to almost be filled with a shimmering liquid. Their hair is waist-length and black with an iridescent sheen to it, long black claws bordering on talons on their hands. They wear long, tight fitting black robes. Background: You hear its voice sometimes, when it's quiet and you're alone. You try to tune it out. You try to ignore it. It forces you to remember things. To feel things. It's within you, wiggling and writhing, waiting for the right moment to attack. At times it feels predatory. At others, its presence is comforting-- protective and doting. It'll become whatever you want it to be. It'll become whatever you need it to be.

especially when they all seem to know something about you even though you have a mask stuck to your face they aren’t willing to tell what they know about you

no matter how close you get or how many tricks you try

AURORA

Your second oldest friend (because the first one is your favourite breakfast cereal). You have known Aurora ever since you can remember. In fact, your first memory is her extending an arm out to help you.

She is impatient, but that is a part of her charm. Aurora woke up on the free fall ride. She is deathly afraid of heights and would never go on that ride. She remembers falling...but she doesn't recall from where. She only realized that she was on the ride after her fall was over. You aren't sure about why or how you both ended up in this circus but what you are sure about is the fact that Aurora will have your back all the time and she will always have you to fall back on.

With a million dollar smile, soft hands and a charming personality that disarms anyone within a foot radius, Aurora is indelible.

PAX

Pax has never really been the one in the spotlight. They mostly keep to themselves, but they won't shy away from taking action when it's necessary. They can be seen riding their motorbike off into the sunset after a tiresome day.

Pax doesn't know why they ended up on the ferris wheel of Elysium. The ferris wheel is their favourite ride since early childhood but they haven't ridden one in years. Just like you, they don't remember ever getting on the ride.Pax doesn't enjoy the puzzles of Elysium even though he is really good at solving them.

Pax may seem like he doesn't care, but in reality, he is afraid of caring too much. When you finally take a peak inside his heart, you'll find that it's not all stone.

Sweet, sweet Vi. She is incredibly logical and calculating but deep inside, she's a free spirit. Her mind and her heart are at constant odds with each other.

Violet always thinks one step ahead. She doesn't like doing things without a plan. If she can't envision the future, she doesn't go along with a course of action. She loves to let loose at times and will always find a way to lift up your spirits.

Vi won't ever ask for help, not even if her life depended on it. She believes that she is capable enough on her own to solve every single problem that life throws her way but more than that, she does not want to be a burden. He is adventurous and will never pass on an opportunity to try something new. You can be anything around him, just don't be boring. Nick is the type of person who loves speed, pushing themselves to the edge and adrenaline. For him life is nothing but a smooth highway he wants to ride aimlessly on.

When things go south, he does not lose hope. He knows that there is always a way out. Nick will never abandon anyone, no matter what. He is clumsy, but he is sure he can count on you to catch him.

They come to you every so often, the dreams that cause you to wake up in a cold sweat, jaw stretched open as if locked in a scream that never seems to come. The crushing weight upon your chest, the vice-like grip upon your throat, the voice that's begging you to run.

You are no stranger to nightmares, no stranger to them. You had your first only a handful of weeks after coming to Akureyri, and they started to come only once every two or three months. That soon turned into once every month, and then every other week. Lately they’ve been happening nearly every night.

Which is normal. It’s fine.

Humans can have nightmares for a number of reasons. Anxiety, stress, changes to sleep schedule, sleep deprivation, apnea - anything that knocks their routine only slightly out of balance. The dreams might be the most human thing about you; although you have a feeling that normal humans don't start talking to the corpse-like being that's causing them, and you're pretty fucking certain the creature doesn't start spewing prophecies in any normal human's dreams.

Val had always (prophetically) joked that their high cheekbones would land them on the silver screen someday, and their chiseled features are nothing to scoff at. Val is a big fan of sharp, high fashion-esque clothing with subtle asymmetry, provocative cuts, and tasteful draping.

DANTE, WRATH (male, he/him, esfp) • Character Intro Despite his many quirks, which often make him seem like an open book, the information that you actually have about Dante is far too scarce. He has a thick accent, European (Italian, you think, or perhaps somewhere similar), and when he speaks he does so with conviction, self-assuredly, though you know it is all a facade, as he has proved easy to rattle and upset. Dante is the demon you have made a pact with, loud, obnoxious, and hot-headed. He seems like a young man in his mid-twenties, though given the situation, you suspect he is much older than that. Dante strongly dislikes the thought of guiding you through the depths of hell, yet he seems secretly happy at the prospect of breaking a couple rules. You have only seen Dante's human form, and you know him as a man of average height, with messy brown hair, and chocolate-brown eyes (though it is strange how they seem red under certain lights). His skin has a healthy Mediterranean tan, which lights up with his common boyish grins. Dante is quite temperamental, though, and he won't hesitate to oppose you if he feels like you're in the wrong. In terms of clothes, he prefers loose button-up shirts and tight pants. Some might call his style... outdated.

LILITH, LUST (non-binary, she/they, esfj) • Character Intro Ever since you met her you have known that there was something intrinsically dangerous about a being like her. A succubus with such a powerful name and position gains nothing out of helping you, yet she seems to have accepted despite the many odds against you. Lily's smiles are sharp but not unkind, they know how to carry a conversation, how to be the center of attention, yet... it is strange how they seem like they genuinely care about you, about your journey. She seems close to Dante despite their constant bickering. Lilith is a being of lust, a fact made obvious by her many inappropriate comments, sultry smiles, and meaningful glances. Falling for her tricks feels like being trapped in a spider's web. Nevertheless, she is not unkind. Lilith values your friendship, perhaps much more than your desire. Everything about Lilith is fiery. Their stature is average, and their hair is long, wavy, and red like blood. Eyes such as theirs (an unnatural citrine) would be unsettling if you hadn't been told of their species beforehand. They seem to be in their late twenties, but you know they are much, much older than that. Lilith seems to adore making people squirm, but you can tell it is all good-natured fun. They have confessed to believing that their demon shape is "hideous". In terms of style, Lilith favors clothes that display their amazing body (no matter how cold the weather is).

JOSH, ENVY (male, he/him, infj) • Character Intro Josh and you have come a long way since you met, which isn't surprising when he has been the only person in your life who supported you when your parents died four years ago. When you met, both of you were children, and looking at him makes it easy to remember the old times, the happy times, the innocent times. Josh looks at you similarly, you know he thinks the world of you. He is studying medicine, a fact which surprised no one given how intelligent your childhood best friend is. Out of everyone in this world, Josh was the only one whom you thought you knew like the back of your hand. But you were wrong. A secret such as the one he keeps mustn't be easy to bear, however, you are sure now that Josh has always known much more than he lets on. His full name is Joseph Guerrero, a descendant of Colombian immigrants. Josh's hazel eyes are hidden behind thin-rimmed black glasses, his skin is a rich, light honey brown, and his hair is short, swept-back, straight, and chestnut brown. Due to an accident in his childhood, he has to use hearing aids. He is your age, 22. When Josh smiles he manages to light up a room, which is no surprise, everyone who knows him agrees that he is a caring friend, always ready to make you laugh and to help you, no matter if your issues are big or small. He prefers casual clothing.

VILLANELLE, GLUTTONY (female, she/her, enfp) • Character Intro Everyone in Blackburn knows Villanelle, though opinions might vary depending on who you ask. You, of course, are no exception. Villanelle has always been nice to you, she is a bit scatter headed and absentminded, but her eccentric nature is easy to overlook once you strike up a conversation with her. Villanelle (you're so certain that's not her real name) is fond of literature and tarot, though her real passion is herbalism. It isn't surprising then that she owns a shop dedicated to homemade remedies. No matter what people may think of her, it is undeniable that Villanelle has helped Blackburn without an ounce of hesitation. Somehow, out of all the people you have ever met, it is the least surprising for Villanelle to be a witch. Villanelle DuPont, despite what her name might hint at, is actually of Asian descent. A short woman with playful dark brown eyes, her hair is cut short at her shoulders and dyed in an electric green color. You know she's a couple years older than you, 24. Villanelle is all over the place all the time, but she has always had good intentions. Her style can not be described simply, eclectic at times, bohemian, perhaps. Villanelle adores makeup, preferring thick eyeliner and bright lipstick shades.

VICTOR, GREED (male, he/him, istj) • Character Intro "Cold" and "detached", those are the two words you would use to describe Victor. Ever since you met him he has barely spared you the time of the day. His objectives are selfish, however, not unclear. Everything he's doing he's doing it for his sister, whom you know mysteriously disappeared years ago. Victor has completely devoted his life to being a Demon Hunter, and when you look at him you can see in his hardened stare that he has completely embraced such a position. You don't think you have ever seen him smile. His words are often harsh and his methods, methodical and calculated. Nevertheless, you wonder whether his standoffish nature stems from the need to keep people away, for whatever reason. Getting to know him doesn't seem like it'll be easy. An undeniably attractive man despite his unwelcoming attitude, his brown eyes are dark and icy, and his hair is jet black. His skin is golden, and a dark beard adorns his features. Victor is tall, and his build is athletic. He has mentioned being in his late twenties, 27. The clothes Victor wears have one thing in common: their practicality. Often baggy and loose, they help conceal the many weapons you know for a fact that he carries with himself everywhere.

ALIYAH, SLOTH (female, she/her, entj) • Character Intro You never thought you would meet a genie, and then Aliyah came along, and, as she often does, she crushed all your expectations. Unlike their usual image in media, this genie is not mischievous and friendly, and the way she looks at you reveals a deep-rooted hatred towards you and your entire species. Despite her disdain, she somehow made a pact with your sister Chrissy. Aliyah never hesitates to point out when she thinks you're in the wrong, often in a mean-spirited, berating manner. One thing she does share with genies in TV shows and movies (a fact that seems almost charming when you think about it) comes in the form of many references to popular culture which she conceals in her jibes. Aliyah is taller than the average woman, and she always carries herself with dignity, with an air of superiority. She is of Arab descent. Her hair is long, curly, and a shade of dark brown copper. Her eyes are deep and cunning, a shade of brown so dark they almost seem black. She seems to be around your age, but she is probably the oldest out of everyone in your group. Despite her God complex and constant snark, Aliyah doesn't seem like she is used to being in control; if the shackles around her wrists are anything to go by.

NATHAN, PRIDE (male, he/him, entp) • Character Intro When you picture an angel, a man like Nathan would be the last thing to come to mind, which shouldn't be surprising given his claims of being a "younger breed". When he calls himself young he never says it like it's a good thing: Angels such as Nathan are weaker to the Corruption, an erosion of the soul which, in him, manifests through a second personality he calls Azriel. Despite his odds, Nathan seems like a fairly charming person, often cracking jokes and pushing your and everyone's buttons. He has no filter whatsoever. Perhaps his cheerful disposition only proves his true colors to be even stranger (quiet, disdainful, almost apathetic), but maybe that's just Azriel's influence on him. Nathan's eyes are blue like the clear sky, and they light up whenever he rants about his interests (the number of times you've heard him ramble...). His hair is cut short, neat, and blond. He seems to be in his mid-twenties but you know he is far older than that. There is nothing angelic about the way Nathan dresses. Many piercings decorate his ears, tattoos adorn his arms, legs, and chest, and he seems to enjoy darker clothes.

EDEN, DECEIT (genderfluid, she/he, istp) • Character Intro She appeared in your dreams, attacked you, ignored your reaction, and decided to stick around. To call Eden one of the weirdest people you have ever met isn't even surprising, and things only seem to become stranger the more you spend around him. Eden claims to be a human. Nonetheless, he has admitted to being the descendant of the most powerful man (or, rather, wizard) who has ever lived, King Solomon. Because of this, Eden has spent her entire life hiding from a greater evil. Thus, her personality is rather closed off, not because she's shy or rude, but because she hasn't had any experience in social environments. Eden Cohen's skin is a shade of mocha, and his eyes are an unnatural white (when you asked, he explained it was the sigil of the Solomon bloodline). Eden is of average height, and his hair is cropped short and bleached. In terms of clothes, he prefers practicality over style.

The Deal is heavily focused on characters and the MC's relationship with them. This doesn't mean that romance is mandatory, on the contrary, it is completely optional. Your friendships, rivalries, and acquaintances will be your sole support in your journey: take care of them, and they will take care of you in return. Defy them and they will defy you.

That being said, Romance is possible with eight different characters (four males, two females, and two genderqueers).

Each character has 7 different possible approaches when it comes to their relationship with the MC: Platonic friendship, Rivalry, Friends to lovers, Rivals to lovers, Shy romance, and Flirty romance. Butting heads with someone will not automatically lock you out of someone's route (and it won't rule out the possibility of making amends in the future). On top of that, each character will have a "special" route which will only unlock if the MC meets certain criteria. In the future, I will make a post specifying the differences between these many routes.

As of now, there are plans to implement a few poly routes: Dante/Lilith, Nathan/Dante, and Lilith/Aliyah. There is one Love Triangle option (TW it's ranked 1 in the angst chart) between Josh/Victor and the possibility of a Harem route in which characters actively pursue you and acknowledge that they're not the only ones into you.

JACKSON LEWIS! The Family Man.

Jackson Lewis──he/him. 33. The night shift receptionist-slash-building coordinator. He usually brings his daughter to sit in on show recordings, seeing as she’s got a bit of a crush on Nate─he’s a no-bullshit kind of man but his soft spot is his daughter’s puppy dog eyes. He just so happens to be the last person to see Nate before he disappeared and YOU CAN’T HELP BUT GET THE FEELING HE’S NOT BEING TRUTHFUL IN HIS STATEMENT ABOUT IT.

Visuals! Jackson is a plus sized man with an average height of 5"9' (175cm). His frame is shaped more oval-like than rectangular and while he doesn't go out of his way to exercise his muscle to fat ratio is almost 1:1. Despite sporting a thick and voluminous afro in his youth, nowadays Jackson's dark brown hair is styled in a crew cut, leaving the growth to his beard──which is full, thick and well-taken-care-of. His black umber-brown skin has cool, jewel undertones that pair well with his dark brown hooded eyes. He has a nubian shaped nose and full lips framed by both his beard and mustache. There is a small scar on the left side of his nose where he previously had a piercing that has since closed up. Half of his right little finger is missing. He doesn't smile often, in all the time you've spent with him (which isn't all that much) but he sports laughter lines at the corners of his eyes and the tips of his mouth letting you believe he's not just the straight-laced man you believe him to be.

Fun Fact! His daughter, Priscilla─Cilly as he calls her─is almost eight years old! Jackson is in the final stages of quite the lengthy divorce but he's excited to finally be Cilly's only parent with legal custody soon.

PAX

Pax has never really been the one in the spotlight. They mostly keep to themselves, but they won't shy away from taking action when it's necessary. They can be seen riding their motorbike off into the sunset after a tiresome day.

Pax doesn't know why they ended up on the ferris wheel of Elysium. The ferris wheel is their favourite ride since early childhood but they haven't ridden one in years. Just like you, they don't remember ever getting on the ride.

Pax doesn't enjoy the puzzles of Elysium even though he is really good at solving them. Pax may seem like he doesn't care, but in reality, he is afraid of caring too much. When you finally take a peak inside his heart, you'll find that it's not all stone.

Wren Price [male or female, 23] – Your childhood friend. A tattoo artist. They've seen you at your best and at your worst. They know who you are and what you're capable of, and it's never scared them before. Of course, both of you are fucked up but at least you have a friend for life. They keep a very close circle and can be quite hostile to others. Both of their parents were murdered and they were practically raised by their older brother, with the help of your mom. They have a lot of unsolved issues, one of which is their anger problems. Prone to blowing up on a person, but never you. They dislike feeling powerless and refuse to feel anything but that.

Appearance – Wavy, dyed black hair, cut to their shoulders which is often too long for their liking- never tied up. Hazel green eyes, very pale skin, 5'8. Freckles they habitually conceal with makeup, and tattoos that cover their entire back. Regularly seen wearing street clothes; cargo pants and baggy jeans, oversized hoodies, and graphic tees.
