Adventure: In the Garden of the Wyrm
The castle at Lillyford has sat foreboding and overgrown for generations, the lair of a serpentine dragon who's laid claim to it's sprawling gardens and the river it overlooks. None so far have been brave or strong enough to oust the beast, but perhaps you and your foolish friends are lucky enough to make up the difference.
Hooks:
Most people know well enough to avoid the land surrounding the verdant castle, not only because of the dragon but because of the strange and hostile plant life that's said to thrive in its corrupting presence. A low level party in the region may be contracted to help uproot an invasive patch of poisonous blooms or predatory vines, a teaser for what's to come once they set their sights on the dragon's own garden.
The river traders have had enough. For decades they paid tribute to the dragon to avoid it plundering their barges and still had to deal with it plucking cargo and deckhands into the water whenever it got bored. They're willing to pay, and pay well, for a group of hunters to go in and gut the beast, and will even use their influence to support whoever does it taking ownership of the keep.
Alternatively, have the party enter the scene a few weeks after the hunters failed to kill the dragon, having given up their employers before they were eaten sending the dragon marauding through the waterways looking for revenge. All water traffic throughout the region has stopped as the traders and ferryfolk have gone into hiding, throwing the local economy into chaos.
Someone very important is sick and the hard to find cure just so happens to be a plant known to have been growing in the Lillyford gardens before the dragon arrived. While a frontal assault is out of the question, they could sneak in to pluck it from among the dragon's hoarded horticulture. Surely it won't notice a single missing specimen, right? ..... Right?
The Fortress was once known far and wide for its gardens, cultivated by generations of lords and ladies who traced their lineage back to a questing knight, who earned their station by presenting their liege with a flower obtained from the realm beyond the sunrise.  The seeds of that flower became the first planted in the castle’s garden, and began a collection of exotic blooms that the family expanded on throughout the decades.
All wonders attract admirers, and among the lovers, herbalists, poets, and perfumers, the one who most admired the gardens of Lillyford was a dragon by the name of Pyrithi, who one day emerged from the river and presented himself at the castle gate, demanding that the owner of Lillyford surrender the keep and all its contents to him. When the owner and their men fought back, Pyrithi unleashed a foul breath which sickened their lungs and corroded their armour. Pyrithi did the same to the door of the keep, and threatened worse to those still inside, using the fallen and debilitated protectors as hostages.
Since that day none but the dragon have set foot in Lillyford, who has supplemented the original gardens with several species of poisonous and/or maneating plants. Should some brave heroes manage to slay the wyrm, they will not only have the thanks of the now-exiled nobles of Lillyford, but also the fame granted to those who protected the keep’s heroic legacy.

Read right to left.
Note: Yaad did in fact not allow him to buy a bunch of dogs. However, he was allowed to open a royal dog shelter and it eventually brought him a lot more joy to give them a home, even if mostly temporarily. (He did keep some for himself though)

This is the second volume of Call of Cthulhu adventures produced by Miskatonic River Press. The press itself was founded by Keith Herber to continue to compliment his Lovecraft Country line of sourcebooks for Chaosium with ever more scenarios — the first volume of which was New Tales of the Miskatonic Valley. Unfortunately, Herber passed away soon after the book came out. This volume, More Adventures in Arkham Country (2010) is dedicated to his memory.
The book opens with a fun scenario involving a plant god and an explanation for the extinction of the dinosaurs. Second is a sort of inside-out Scooby-Doo mystery, in which there really is something horrible going on beyond the fake haunting. Third is a sort of cosmic riff on “this is not a place of honor” involving containment of a horrible creature by the mi-go long before mankind. Next is an odd one involving Leonardo Da Vinci’s brother, a machine for Armageddon and Nyarlathotep — in execution it feels like a combo of Dead Light and Saturnine Chalice. Next uses a heatwave, local legends and witchcraft to excellent, folk horror-ish effect when history repeats. The book wraps up with a twisted Innsmouth love story that wasn’t for me.
This volume is very good. I liked the first one, but the adventures here feel more usable in general games, where the scenarios in the first seemed geared for one-shots. These almost all make use of established Lovecraft cities, which is another odd contrast with the first book.
Good art and production design throughout. Andrew Leman of the HP Lovecraft Historical Society designed the handouts, which are lovely. Interior art is split between Jason Eckhardt and Reuben Dodd. I love Santiago Caruso’s cover — it rivals Eckhardt’s own Innsmouth illustrations in both the atmosphere of decay and its oddness.

Hello, everyone!
Nature is beautiful, and there's nothing quite like taking your caravan of goods from city to city all the while taking in some splendid sights: rivers, mountains and all kinds of forests.
It's too bad then that highway robberies are all the rage among lollygagging aficionados. It's true, no one can enjoy these vistas without someone trying to steal everything you have and more.
Good thing this caravan is full of seasoned warriors!
The creature tokens for this map are a Blood Feasting Beast, a Crow Demon and a Thieving Fairy. Emerald tier gets Crow Demon while Diamond tier gets all three. In addition, Sapphire tier gets extra creature token variants.
You can see a preview of all of this week’s Patreon content here.
Thank you very much for taking a look and be sure to check out my Patreon where you can pledge for gridless version, alternate map versions as well as the tokens pertaining to this map.

Honeymoon pt.3 - Kozama'uka
"It's just as you said, my love, the sights Kozama'uka are marvel to behold. Such vibrant wetlands... I can understand now how you were reminded of that of Lakeland. Let's settle here for lunch. I would love to hear this tale of Alexander that Y'shtola mentioned earlier in Earthenshire."

Adventure: A Draft Through the Door
An unnatural gloom creeps over the countryside, the shadows grow long and the dawn seems slow to rise. The townsfolk grow increasingly listless, and have asked your party to investigate the mage's manor across the lake, which seems to be the origin of this miasmic melancholia. Your journey will not be an easy one, as the landscape grows ever more eerie, and things are seen to move in the drifting banks of mist.
Of the many reasons that wizards take on apprentices (passing down knowledge, having a sounding board for new theories, an extra pair of hands to prepare spell components and do the sweeping up) one of the less discussed ones is how vital it is to have a second pair of eyes on lookout for when something magical inevitably goes wrong.
It makes sense when you think about it, a proper wizard's mind is too full of brilliance to bother with things like making sure that week's batch of potions don't boil over in the cauldron or that the stacked tomes of lore present a firehazard if they're not put away.
So it was with the mage Milghram Brightstaff and his precocious apprentice Adaline, who lived a quaint existence in the manor by the edge of the lake filling their days with scholarship, experiments, and attending to the problems brought to them by locals visiting from across the countryside. That was until mage Milghram decided to pop off to his extra-dimensional storage unit by way of a shadowfell portal in the manor's basement. He thought he'd only been gone a few hours, but neglected to apply the protective charm required to spare himself from the memory-sapping defences guarding his vault. now Milghram wanders the land of shades in a perpetual state of "why did I come into this room?" while the essence of that dread dimension leak back through his unclosed portal.
Adventure Hooks:
The party might've been sent to seek out the wizard, or visit town on their own buisness. Either way nothing's getting done so long as the countyside is blanketed in memory erroding fog and creatures from the shadow realm stalk through the murk. After several nights worth of exposure the town's defenders have had the wost of it, having forgotten what they're guarding or why they've established barricades.. it'll take some guile or calm negoitation for them to let the heroes past the gate.
When the party eventually gets to the manor they'll not only find the place locked, shuttered, and in many cases barricaded, but also protected by a slew of arcane defences ranging from animated objects to teleportation traps that will hurl them out into the lake. Two thirds of the way through their magical B&E and likely expecting a mad wizard to emerge from the shadows and begin a villain monolog, they'll instead find an exhausted teen running through the manor hurling heedless spells at a fleeing bug-thing demanding they help catch it before it gets too big.
For a girl of only fourteen winters beset on all sides by living nightmares Adaline is handling herself marvellously. She's activated the manor's wards sealing the worst of the cursed mist in the basement (or atleast she had until the party chopped their way in) and has been using a borrowed wand to hunt down most of the shadow creatures that have begun to infest the manor grounds. She's deeply worried about her teacher however, and blames herself for the series of distractions that led the old man to forgetting to throw on his protective charm. Depending on how they play it, they can either have her charm them and venture into the portal looking for the errant mage, or attempt to distract her long enough to close the portal themselves and leave the old wizard for dead.
