Usually when Rex was in pain, he would close his eyes and focus on his breathing until it faded away and he could think again. But something about this kind of agony prevented him from doing anything else other than seizing up in shock.

It hurt every time, too much for him to handle, he couldn't ignore it no matter how many times he tried. So he didn't notice McConnell experiencing the effects as well, until the enraged man rushed forward and wraps his hands around his neck.

Rex wouldn't have fought him off even if he could - all he wanted was for the pain to end.

"Excuse me," a cheerful voice intoned behind them. It had the twinge of that old timey accent and the liveliness of a talk show host, which made it more jarring to hear over their shared cries.

Behind McConnell stood a man in an expensive red suit, not taller than Rex but exuding every ounce of confidence this Rex lacked. He radiated wealth and poise, from his neatly combed back hair to his perfect white teeth and elegant posture. The beauty mark on his chin could've been painted on and his mustache was almost cartoonish looking above his beaming smile.

A pair of dark spectacles were perched on his nose, over which he peered at McConnell with delight, as if they were two old friends sharing a private joke.

"Would you please take your hands off my dog?"

The moment that searing pain burned it's way through McConnell's body, he shrieked, the sound echoing through the room. The collar seamlessly phased through his hand and unceremoniously clattered to the floor. That damn pain began sinking into him, concentrating itself into his chest. He stared down to the hand that held the collar, flexing it and feeling only numbness. It seemed as though even the air was resisting him, refusing to let him breathe....

"N-no." He hissed between short gasps. "I-I am not letting you get-get rid of me this easily!"

He drew his shaking hands together, drew a deep breath, and then slammed them against his chest. Just keep yourself together. With a strong cough, he rammed his hands against his chest once again. You are not dying to him. On the third hit, he finally felt himself able to breathe again. Another cough released patterned blood onto the floor and, more importantly, his suit. The pain in his chest dissipated, and sensation began flowing back into his arm.

"...You knew." He hissed, rushing forward and gripping the man's scarred neck. "You knew this would happen! If I didn't know you'd be just fine afterwards, I'd stop your heart, right here and now!"

Good Omens Aziraphale's Sad Bastard Breakup Playlist

After the breakup, Aziraphale has a new job in heaven, having taken Gabriel’s vacant position. Aziraphale is haunted by sad music reminding him of his time with Crowley. The songs are dramatic, tragic, melancholic, angry, wistful, romantic, and sentimental. How does he listen to music at his new job in the head office? Are material objects allowed? Does he keep a secret stash of tea, cake, and records and a phonograph player in his office? Does he have a celestial radio that can tune in Earth radio stations? P.P.S.: “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered” reminds him of the time he and Crowley got drunk in the backroom at the bookshop the day the anti-Christ was delivered to Earth. Basically, this song reminds him of every time they went out for drinks or stayed in and drank.

P.P.P.S.: “I am a Courtier Grave and Serious” was the song Aziraphale planned to play when trying to tempt Crowley into learning the gavotte. It reminds him of the ball in the bookstore when he finally danced with Crowley.

P.P.P.P.S.: “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien” is as close as Aziraphale can get to telling the world and Crowley to eff off. He has no more effs to give. Or at least he’s trying to convince himself he no longer gives a f***. He’s going off to his new job at the head office and Do Good.

Note on song selection:

I selected songs that thematically fit with the relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley. I think the songs tell a story of Aziraphale’s struggle to reconcile his conflicted motivations. They reflect Aziraphale’s fears and desires. He fears being hauled off to hell for disobedience. He fears Crowley’s death and being alone in the world. He desires to be emotionally intimate with Crowley. (Dare he risk physical intimacy with Crowley?) He feels self-righteously indignant, but he’s soft and squishy and weepy and misses his best friend.

I don’t have much knowledge of opera or musical theater, but I have some experience with choir and solo performance. I did a lot of research into opera, art songs, musicals, showtunes, and standards to create a playlist on YouTube. Selections were based on availability, popularity, and sound quality. My big question was whether or not Aziraphale is a strict originalist or if he likes different versions of songs. In some places, I chose newer versions over original versions due to the sound quality of the recordings. I tried to keep selections accessible to a wide audience with varying degrees of musical knowledge. You may not like my choices, so your mileage may vary. You can make your own playlist.

Your new arm looks expensive, Rex. Did you finally get a job to offer these items?

"Nah. People like giving me shit." Rex deadpans. He's not going to discuss with a stranger what sort of prices he was paying. But he does show his new arm.

It's a smooth black matte design, the fluidity of the movements perfect. If it weren't for the color, it could've passed for a real arm with how Rex handles it and how well it obeys him.

"It's got some special features. Not all of 'em pleasant for you, so better mind your manners around me." He smirks, arrogant and self satisfied. Clearly, he was going to use this arm to be a menace all over again.

Each city was selected by me from "The Rulership Book" by Rex E. Bills, alongside one fact that matches that particular sign's energy! There are more cities and places that align with the vibration of each sign, but these are the ones I picked for this post. All pictures are from Google Images.

Florence has a unique street festival: The "Calcio Storico" is a traditional street football game played annually there. The game involves four teams representing the four historic quarters of the city, and it's known for its rough and intense style of play!

♉Taurus: LEIPZIG, Germany

Leipzig is known as the "City of Music": Leipzig has a rich musical heritage and is considered one of the world's most important cities for classical music. Famous composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Richard Wagner, and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy have strong connections to Leipzig, and their music is celebrated in the city's numerous concert halls, museums, and festivals.

Apache Hotel / Horseshoe Club / Binion’s Gambling Hall

Apache hotel and various clubs:

‘05: Property bought by W.R. Thomas, begins building a hotel in ‘10, abandons the project, leaving exposed open basement through the 20s.

‘31: P.O. Silvagni buys the property, begins building. A.L. Worswick, architect.

‘32: Apache Hotel opens 3/19/32. Hotel leased to R.R. Russell for 15 years. Silvagni opens a series of clubs in the basement in ‘32-34 - Apache Indian Village, Kiva Club, and ‘Pache Club. Apache Casino, a separate business, opens on the ground floor in Oct. by Pop Houskey, T. Thebo.

‘41: New Western Casino on the ground floor in Jul.; closed Spring ‘42.

‘42: Forester Jewelers on the ground floor (10/1/42-7/28/44).

‘45: S.S. Rex Club on the ground floor, opened 3/3/45. Partners include T. Cornero, Silvagni, W. Alderman. Sign by Nevada Outdoor Advertising. City orders partners including owner/landlord Silvagni out in Jun; G. McAfee licensed to take over the club in Jul. The "S.S." was dropped from the club name on paper post-Cornero, but the signs never changed.

‘46: Rex Club sold to M. Bernstein in Feb; M. Sedway as manager; casino becomes Eldorado Club in Aug, Sedway continues as manager.

‘47: Apache Hotel rooftop sign installed (c. late ‘47). Arthur Rozen, Ed Moss take over management at Eldorado Club.

‘50: Eldorado closed in Dec. The club reopened as Clover Club circa Jan.-Feb ‘51 with Eldorado sign in place.

‘51: May, Benny Binion buys and closes Clover Club. Eldorado sign removed from marquee that month as renovations to the club begin.

Horseshoe club:

‘51: Horseshoe Club opens on the ground floor 8/14/51.

‘52: “Benny Binion” name added to the Horseshoe sign c. May, after Binion is licensed.

‘53: Binion loses license in Dec after federal conviction; casino under control of new partners J. Brown, W. Dorsett, “Doby Doc” Caudill; Binion name removed from the sign in late ‘53 or early ‘54.

‘54: Apache Hotel Annex expansion on 2nd St with Horseshoe Club on the ground floor, alley separates the main building and annex. Million dollar display introduced to Horseshoe Club.

‘58: Horseshoe Club leases Apache Hotel. Rooftop sign removed, and the Apache name retired until 2019. Brown’s stake sold to E. Levinson & Fremont Hotel partners, Levinson as president of Horseshoe.

‘59: Million dollar display removed, currency belonging to Joe W. Brown estate.

‘60: Jack Binion, age 22, approved as 2 ½ owner of Horseshoe

‘61: Neon facade installed on the building and expansion onto former Boulder Club property.

‘62: Parking garage addition, McAllister & Wagner, architect.

‘64: Binion family becomes sole shareholders of the Horseshoe. Main building and annex joined, removing the alley at unknown date in mid-late 60s.

‘69: Million dollar display re-introduced.

‘70: World Series of Poker begins.

‘88: Horseshoe buys The Mint in Jun; expands into the club in Jul; “Mint” lettering immediately removed from the signs; signs entirely replaced throughout Fall ‘88-early ‘89. Benny Binion statue sculpted by Deborah Copenhaver, at Casino Center & Ogden, unveiled in Nov.

‘90: Culinary Local 226 and Bartenders Local 165 union workers at Binion's Horseshoe go on strike, Jan. 27 to Nov. 7.

‘98: Becky Binion Behnen sole owner of Horseshoe.

‘99: Million dollar display sold, removed.

‘04: Horseshoe closed after cash seizure, 1/9/2004. Sold to Harrah’s. Harrah’s retains Horseshoe brand and World Series of Poker, sells remaining assets to MTR Gaming.

Binion’s Gambling Hall:

‘05: Hotel-casino rebranded Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel in Mar.

‘08: Casino and hotel lease sold to TLC Gaming.

‘09: Hotels closed (former Mint tower and Apache).

‘19: Older hotel reopens as Apache Hotel.
